I&B Admits MSM Losing to Social Media

So Arun Jaitley finally got up and slapped Justice Katju for his nonsensical propaganda work. About time someone did. Jaitley has sought the firing of Katju from his PCI post but he forgot another guy. He should have also sought the sacking of Varadabhai, the editor of The Hindu, who wilfully allowed Katju to peddle lies through his newspaper (or should I call it Matka?). In any case the propagandists are failing. And failing very badly! All the Queen’s poodles together haven’t been able to cause enough damage with their lies. This unfortunate truth has dawned upon the GOI after the Gujarat election results. Sagarika Ghose, Barkha Dutt, Rajdeep Sardesai and the whole motley crew on TV tried their best to defeat Narendra Modi but failed. The Hindu and other newspapers tried too but they too failed miserably. Desperate times call for desperate measures. So the Congress has turned to the one they loathed the most in the last few years: Social Media. They have posted an application form for people to volunteer propaganda work through the internet.

Some comments in response to their invitation, through a blog post, are quite interesting and we should read and learn:

How many people you are selecting as volunteers?? – Ashraf VP
This guy wants to first know the total number of seats available and measure his chances of being recruited. That’s the limitation of the internet I guess. Like the I&B ministry it can’t take beyond a certain number or quota.

Have Worked with Some Social Media Giants & Did many Social Media campaigning, I am here to see the differences & Spread up positive Approach, Honest, Bharat Maa ko Pyar Karne wala, Govt. Ki Achchi Nitiyon ka Prasansak & Govt. ki Janhit ki yojnaon ko Social Media k Maadhyam se Janta tak Failana hi Lakshaya, 24 hours Dedicated & available over net,Planing to Develop Social awairness against baseless & mailafied criticism of right working Govt.& People – Anish56060
He’s the man. Manish Tiwari should be thrilled with this guy who is “24 hours dedicated and available over net”. He also comes with a lot of experience with some SM giants. I wonder if he’s referring to Poonam Pandey or Ashutosh Varshney. He has done many campaigns so he is against “baseless & mailafied” criticism. Understandable.

Interested in Inter-Caste/Inter-religion marriages for National Integration and Social Restructuring with ultimate aim to have a Manav Dharma & Casteless Society. If so, would you like to be a member of the Society for National Integration and Social Restructuring? If yes, please send particulars of yours and atleast ten other like minded men and women to dkdogra1942@gmail.com specifying whether you/they are inter-caste or inter-religion married person(s) or willing to be so or sympathetic to their cause. – DK Dogra
This one is the perfect ‘match’ for Manish Tiwari. He is willing to go beyond mere propaganda. He’s willing to arrange inter-caste, inter-religion marriages. And his last line is pretty impressive. “Specifying if you/they are… married”. So whether you’re married or not just respond if you’re sympathetic to his cause. The blog administrators of I&B must be thrilled with this comment being posted. The next three are strong, positive messages.

I HAVE A PLEASURE TO DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR MY NATION – Tuna
I love my country & i can do everything 2 its growth by the way me digital media. . .thanks & regards deep – Nokia7210
i Love Very much my India & i want to CORRUPTION-FREE-INDIA. it is my pleasure if i selected – Tanmay

Will do “everything 2 its growth… regards deep” … “I want to corruption-free India”. Really nice! Their writing and communication skills tell me they match the govt’s needs perfectly. All these guys are well-intentioned and are keen on doing something for India. It didn’t occur to the I&B ministry though, that in a blog post which merely requires a person to apply there isn’t much need for comments. But the form itself reflects the high IQ that Manish Tiwari & Co. possess at the I&B.

Alright, so I first ask you if you use any fuel for your vehicle. Then I ask you if you use a car or a bike. How very intelligent eh? This is to be on the safer side with the assumption that there might be car or bike users who may not be using any kind of fuel. So the form first asks you if you have regular access to internet and then asks if you use Twitter, Facebook etc. That is because there are, of course, millions of people who use Twitter and FB without access to the internet. The next question is how often you use your bike and there is one option that says “other”. I’m sure you’re wondering what this “other” is supposed to imply. Oh, this is for those guys who usually carry their bikes and cars on their heads instead of driving it. Or for that matter the guys who drive the most, the autos and taxis, who could be the guys who commute or travel the most. Right?

A report in DeccanHerald quotes a senior I&B official thus: “The internet is extensively being used by certain sections to discredit the government by their dubious comments and information posted in various sites. This needs to be tackled”. What exactly are these dubious comments and information? I suppose they relate to corruption, misdeeds, bad governance, scams, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi etc. The topics that our MSM is usually scared to talk about. The ministry must be disturbed that ordinary men and women lampoon the Gandhis and the govt unlike the crony MSM. They aren’t afraid to speak up. The official forgot to add that these SM crooks also do lathi charges and use water cannons against the govt. These SM crooks didn’t learn from the GOI that protesters must be treated with courage and consideration. These SM crooks also don’t respect the privacy of people like AM Singhvi when he does stuff in his chambers in the court complex. The honourable MSM does that.

When Rahul Gandhi reads a speech and the ladies (like Sagarika, Pallavi, Barkha, Nikhil Wagle, Ashutosh and others) are driven to tears, these shameless crooks on SM are laughing all the way. And look at these dubious Tweeple and Facebookers, they are simply ungrateful for all the hotel arrangements, wine and food that the Congress party arranges for them. No wonder they have to be frequently blocked and chopped. Are these people supposed to ridicule the Congress or the govt for all the failures, scams and hypocrisy? Why can’t they be more like NDTV, CNN-IBN, Indian Express, Hindustan Times or The Hindu? Can’t they be secular and fall at Madamji’s feet and be good dogs like the MSM? And a huge population of these SM crooks appear to be fans of Narendra Modi. Gujarat has totally failed in every aspect because there is malnutrition in Gujarat. Such shameful conduct by SM!

The social media is like a corner shop or a pub where people often meet. They talk, they chat, they gossip and they laugh at everything, including at themselves. Anyone will tell you that a sense of humour helps a lot to be hanging out on the SM. Manish Tiwari, if he is observant, would have learnt by now that the SM warriors are indeed largely volunteers. They aren’t organised labour unions or slave unions like the MSM. There is a reason why the govt, Rahul Gandhi or Manish Tiwari fail at social skills. They haven’t learned to laugh at anything. Jailing cartoonists and even blocking satire sites. If you make idiotic laws then people will flock to any avenue that helps them vent. The reason some media morons are constantly at war with SM is their inability to take a few jokes and laugh. And who’s heading the Congress war on SM? It’s Rahul Gandhi who has simply no presence on it. From the Congress, Shashi Tharoor is a far more popular man regardless of people’s political affiliations. He interacts with people, he takes lampooning and criticism in his stride. This is what people like Manish Tiwari and Zero haven’t learnt. They could start by attending some classes with Tharoor first.

While this foolish exercise reflects the total ignorance of govt about social media, it also reflects a terrible lack of social skills itself. The bigger realisation for the Congress also has to be that their entire lot of supporters have been left behind in progress, technology and education. And the official that the Deccan Herald quoted admitted under anonymity “But, these steps are not yielding the expected results. Those campaigning against the government in cyber space are far more dedicated and large in number”. Whatever excuses the official offers the warning is clear: The MSM is losing out to the voice of people, the SM. That’s at least one reason for people to cheer.

  1. I find it very akin to,a state setting up a special task force to counter insurgency.Insurgencies are driven by people who are self motivated and ideology centered. It needs no fuel from interest groups. But the counter insurgency forces are expensive to maintain and they work to rule which makes them ineffective against motivated groups. We have live examples in this country all around us which have now become white elephants ( NIA being the latest one).Anyway those who dont learn from history...........

This shows the incredible 'information and broadcasting' skills of this department. One of the comments on the page is - this initiative is akin to ferrying people in trucks for polling :)

  12. hello sir, this is a well deserved slap on the face of i&b ministry and the msm. the questions appearing in the form should be a bit different and in a different order. 1. do you have an electrical connection. 2. if yes, how long do you have an uninterrupted supply. if no, whether you have a ups. 3. what is the power backup your ups provides. 4. in case you access social networking sites through your cell phones or smart phones what is the battery back up. 5. do you have some kind of vendetta against gujrat and narendra modi.(if you have watched the movie gadar-ek prem katha, in which amrish puri tells sunny deol that unless you chant "hindustan murdabad, how will people come to know that he is a true muslim). therefore having a personal vendetta against narendra modi has to be a "must have" qualification.

  13. So this is the reason I see many users lately defending Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, ndtv' videos on Youtube without any base.
Also many comments are either being suppressed or being marked as Spam.

People though lately has realized the pseudo secularism of this dynastic politics which has pushed our nation back on every front.
Poor is getting more poor and Rich is getting every benefit by squeezing the poor man's soul and honesty.

    1. Rahul Gandhi gave is "emotional" speech on 6th February 2013. If you look at that video on youtube, you'll find that most of the comments defending him come from user accounts created on or after 28th January 2013. Each account has no other activity apart from upvoting and liking Rahul Gandhi and Congress videos.
From what it seems like, Congress hired a bunch of people, paid them some money defend the kid and his endeavours. It is funny though that each comment "sounds" exactly the same. Probably its being done by some agency.

  14. Looking at the quality of applicants, I suspect when they would write comments, they are going to mention their designations also, eg.--"The government has ordered for the enquiry in Chopper scam, let the law take its course--XYZ,junior executive, propaganda cell-SM,(I&B ministry),GOI." or "The larger picture is,congress is with the common man--ABC,Astt. G.M.,propaganda cell-SM,I&B ministry,GOI" etc.. The biggest possibility, anyway is yet another scam in the recruitment of this congress internet army. This all is happening at the expense of taxpayers' hard-earned money.

  15. Well, instead they should have hired the PR agencies who models like Poonam Pandey, sunny leone etc., hires to flood public comments and change peoples opinion. I thought it's free speech. I&B/Govt. should do good work and people will automatically praise it. This kind of initiative, clearly shows, it's a propaganda network and few people who were looking excited ki "desk ki seva karoonga", understand, you are sharing your private details, never in your life again, you can dare to go agains't your boss. That's what they want. They will keep track of anything and everything. And yeah, madam ji ke dog banenge to kharcha paani nikal sakta hai...before one ends up like 'Nilim Dutta' one day. Avoid this site. Your voice is free to support someone or go against and It shouldn't be monitored or told what to speak.

LOL! And Why do I somehow get a feeling this is a brainwave of HumaraCONgress whizkid.
Biggest joke is that none of them spearheading this drive have a clue on what Social Media is all about. And the disclaimer saying you cannot quote or claim any Departmental sources when defending/propagating Govt policies is a SUSPECT. It only means, you meet Diggy baba's fate. Can be disowned at any time.

  20. There is a glitch in your analysis, i.e. the question which "if you have regular access to internet" and then asks "if you use Twitter, Facebook etc"is totally correct. They have asked if you have REGULAR ACCESS and then asks if you use Twitter, Facebook etc, there can be people who have no regular access to internet but still have an Twitter or Facebook account and use it to check some updates once in a while (i know quite a few people who fall in this category). The other point is, its not necessary that all people who have internet access will be active on social media sites, they would be using the internet for work purpose and so on.
Rest of the part is fine and shows how dumb I&B has been and the quality of people who are applying.

    1. Dear Darren J,

I know you mean good & I don't want to sound like giving a lecture but we are at war & its not a time for easy money. Wars are won with a hunger to prevail at all costs. Such hunger comes from a fear of otherwise complete extinction. I would site the examples of Shivaji Bhosale & Rana Ranjit Singh. They & their soldiers fought the mughals with almost nothing but sheer & crazy determination. What we experience in Bharat today is the final faceoff between the same good & bad. This is a 1000 year war which would soon culminate into a full & final confrontation. Believe me, if we Hindus did not have what it takes to win, we would have been converted many centuries earlier just as everone else in this world. Our immediate goal must be to ensure a Nationalist person is seated as PM for atleast a few decades. That is the simplest answer to most of evils prevailing in bharat.

      Delete
    2. I actually agree with Darren J.To win a war every means i.e., Saama - Daana - Dhanda - Bheda should be adopted.Earlier our forefathers fought with Dharma and every time the mlechchas deceived them. That's why our Raashtra was subjugated for 1000 years.I recommend you read Telugu book "Edi Charitra" or its translation to understand how Indya was colonized by the Mlechchas.

In the comments section of that article there was a whole glut of comments by a bunch of propagandists under the name "wetheindians1@hotmail.com". WaPo soon woke up to the spamming by this moronic bunch aka "wetheindians1@hotmail.com" and deleted the whole lot (a thousand or so) along with replies to them. Wonder how much dough these CONgressie mouthpieces made out of that exercise

Now of course, there's a properly budgeted amount of Rs 100 crore for this propaganda work. Someone please clarify, is this govt money or CONgress money?

  34. Futile exercise I would say! people commenting on social media are drifters with nothing to lose and if you read their comments you can sense the honesty in them. They truly believe whatever they comment! they have an amazing sense of humor coz it's shared largely with their friends and they know what's funny in their circle. Congress needs to understand that social media is reflecting general sentiment of educated people i.e. youth. Without addressing or taking any actions to correct the situation, they can't hope to change the sentiment by just employing a bunch of people to comment on social media. That's more like creating a building without any foundation. Besides, often people commenting on social media are well researched and know their facts, mess with them, you will get it back with interest.

  37. The I & B ministry seems to be performing like DoorDarshan: dull, insipid and clearly out of touch with the masses.

However, what is worrisome is the recent trend:
    1) We all know regarding the arrest of two girls in Mumbai, after their FB post.
But their has been a consistent effort to undermine independence of SM.
    A) A boy was arrested in Hyderabad after posting comments against Owaisi. MSM did not raise any voice, as expected.

    B) A guy in Odisha was arrested for posting a comment seemingly disrespectful to Islamic prophet.

    C) A man was arrested n Agra for a FB post depicting MMS in a demeaning manner( i think he might have painted him speaking his mind :) ).

All these efforts have been kept away from the media glare, and there seems to be a subtle attempt on the part of the govt to cow down the SM users.

However, the injection of Rs 100 CRORE by Congress in SM is quite visible.

The SM-NREGS scheme has first started showing it's effect on the comment section of various Newspaper.
Those of us who still read TOI for fun, and it's comment section for a chuckle can vouch for the fact that few months back, close to 90 % comments used to be abusive towards congress. trend has shifted a bit, and now it's let's say 60 %( i have no data to back up my claim, this is only what i have observed).
Also, the comment section in TOI is most democratic, as you can post anything irrelevant there. So, that's a nice place to start, for the govt stooges.
Also, Congies are no novice. It is not for nothing they have ruled this nation for more than 50 years. They know all the tricks of the trade. They will be catching up soon, with sheer money, of which they have no dearth.
I think we are heading up for interesting times.
    Regards

    1. It is indeed true that the content section which had more than 90% critical has some adjustment but you can identify these comments with similar content and routine in character. Congress's doesn't seem to mind and only see whether the number of comments in agreement with Govt exist or not. The great think about SM is you can ignore uncouth, abusive and unreasonable comments and which dont have much worth to add. The same I saw in First post which is overwhelmingly critical of congress and has much much depth in its criticism by its commentators. Here too you can see some guys with fake id's and multiple accounts pasting the same content. I wondered who is the donkey from Congress who selected these idiots.

    2. The CONgress propaganda is severely limited to these points:
      (1) MMS is "honest" and a great economist (though this argument is wearing rather thin these days). (2) The dynasty has made great sacrifices (though only dedicated diehard CONgies buy this any more). (3) Rahul is a youth icon (even though he should be shopping for hair dye in a few years' time, but never mind). (4) Sonia gave up the PM's chair (for power without a shred of responsibility). (5) Computer kaun laaya; mobile phones kaun laaya (despite there being computers in Nigeria and cellphones in Pakistan too). (5) We gave NREGA (never mentioning that thereby "we" also blew the budget). (6) What about Gujarat 2002? (7) Gujarat was always developed. (8) Modi is giving fake figures for Gujarat's development. (9) Malnutrition in Gujarat. (10) The anti-CONgs are Nazis and Fascists (but how many Indians would know a Nazi or a Fascist if they ever met one?) (11) Latch on to some stray moronic argument by some anti govt. commentator and milk it dry, implying that ALL anti-govt folks share the same moronic viewpoint. (12) All the netas are thieves - sab chor hain; the unspoken argument being that, ergo, we ought to re-elect a pack of thieves who have already filled their bellies (though hunger for moolah is limitless).

Apart from these, there's precious little meat to the CONgressie propaganda database. Sadly for the propagandist, his outpourings can only survive in a sterile environment. The truth kills them. Anything/anyone contrary, therefore, has to be silenced by a friendly moderator, snipped out by a friendly editor, or physically put away by the friendly gestapo. Kapil Sibal and his beautifully drafted catch-all section 66A notwithstanding, the internet still offers a reasonably democratic forum for the mango people to counter the sarkari BS. Mere bluff and bluster soon gets exposed.

You're still at a disadvantage, if it's propaganda you're going to peddle on the net.

  39. "The social media is like a corner shop or a pub where people often meet"- Reading this makes me inter relate a couple of things from historical point of view.

According to the Zorastrian vastu corner shops were considered auspicious to do business and hence most corner shops were owned by Parsis from 1920's where as according to the Hindu vastu they were inauspicious and were never bought and often sold at a dirt cheap rate.

We move in time ca. 100 Years later Parsis have progressed on economical front with the likes of Tata's, Godrej et al(Although i ignore the population decline in their community). Do you think it would be ideal to label Parsis of the 1920's similar to the Social Media enthusiasts and Hindus of 1920's as our MSM?

Its a slow and steady process and media crooks is one of the catalyst towards this change, towards unbiased reporting based on facts. Brilliant work.

  41. Folks...

    Check this.

If there hadn't been an unexpected crunch of funds at an alleged Indian front company, Italian authorities might never have figured out how Finmeccanica managed to hide the trail of €21 million in bribe money.
Praveen Bakshi, head of Chandigarh-based Aeromatrix, who it is alleged may have been more than a front for the deal's middlemen, was forced to send a text message in December 2011 asking for more funds.
By connecting the dots between the SMSs and tapped phone calls that followed, Italian authorities believe they have pulled the cover off the financial trail that Finmeccanica took to hide the cash.

New revelations: The Finmeccanica scandal is throwing up more details with each passing day
In December 2011, Bakshi - whose company features alleged middlemen Guido Haschke Ralph and Carlo Gerosa on its board - was concerned about not having enough money from AgustaWestland to pay the monthly bills, according to an SMS recorded by Italian authorities.

I did a little search on Google of our man Praveen Bakshai.

Tada... He comes up in where else? He was arrested in CWG scandal. He is a former IAF Group captain close to CWG OC chairman.

    http://www.indianexpress.com/news/cwg-scam-cbi-arrests-oc-official-supplier/753424

The CBI arrested Additional Director General of CWG Organising Committee K U K Reddy and supplier Praveen Bakshi in connection with the overlays supply case.

The premises of Reddy, ADG-Finance, and Bakshi, a former IAF group captain, were searched by the agency on February 18 along with that of five other CWG organising committee officials and suppliers in connection with the multi-crore overlays scam.

Then what? Bakshi Sir was released on bail because CBI did not file charges. Ha Ha...

    http://post.jagran.com/CWG-scam-Two-accused-get-bail-as-CBI-fails-to-file-chargesheet-1303631351

A special court on Saturday granted bail to a CWG Organizing Committee official and a director of private firm as the CBI failed to file the chargesheet in the stipulated time period of 60 days. The duo was arrested on Feb 22.

Special judge Sanjeev Jain granted bail to CWG-OC additional director general, KUK Reddy and Praveen Bakshi, director of a private firm, who were arrested in the connection with the overlays scam.

  42. During Emergency (1975/77 period) Mr. V.C. Shukla was the Information and Broadcasting minister. He banned the famous and legendary Kishore Kumar's songs from AIR & DOORDARSHAN from 4th May 1976 till the end of emergency in 1977 since Kishore da had refused to sing song in praise of Khangress in a Mumba rally. Everybody was aware of what happened during and after emergency and the same fate is awaiting the pall bearers of the dead and rotten emergency of the rotten/filthy Khangress.

  44. Which mediacrook will ever carry this description of Manmohan Singh:

‎"...a docile babu for a Prime Minister whose voice is rarely heard; even when it is, that voice is of a slyly wheedling, craftily finagling or just brazenly lying wimp who could never fathom the importance of integrity and probity in public life."
