Modi Vs Gandhi

True case: A new progressive school decided that along with students from very well-off families it will also take in some slum kids. The school was founded by people passionate about improving school education. Parents of the well-off families had some reservations but the school went ahead and enrolled quite a few slum kids. Since the school was far from the town, all students had to commute by the regular school bus. The students would be picked up and dropped back at their regular stops from where the parents picked up their children and got home. Sometimes the parents of the well-off kids would be late and the kids would get nervous and start crying on seeing no one to pick them up. But the slum kids, they usually didn’t have anyone to pick them up from the stop. They just danced and waltzed their way home without the slightest worry or fear. The slum kids were conditioned that way to move around without much fear while the well-off kids lived a good protected life. The children from well-off families too come into their own at some point and learn life skills.

Ever wondered what the most protective traditional Indian parents tell their children? No, it’s not about being safe. It’s not about don’t play with firecrackers. It’s not about eating too many chocolates. None of that! They often tell the kids going away for studies or first-jobs “Don’t play or go out too much in the sun, you’ll become black”. I’m not joking, there’s even a movie song: “Dhoop me nikla na karo roop ki rani, tera rang kaala na pad jaaye” (watch it on Youtube). Is it any surprise so many spurious fairness creams are endorsed and sold in India? I’m positive Rahul Gandhi never needed such an advice from his parents because he never had to slog in the sun or be troubled too much by Indian heat at any point in his life so far. His trips to slums are those of a tourist, for the slum-dwellers it’s life. His stunts on Mumbai local trains may be good for a slave media but for the regular commuters it’s life. Like an actor he can act their lives for a few minutes without having to pay the price for it.

Rahul Gandhi won’t need fairness creams and he’s no slum kid either. None of his family members ever were. They were born and lived with great comfort and protection. Even children from well-off families go through a lot of life experiences which I doubt RG has ever gone through. I am not sure he even carried his own bag to school considering he had home tuitions at some point. He does have other experiences of people being killed in his family which can be devastating. But did that make him a tougher man? I don’t know because I haven’t seen any signs of anything from the man. So for the MSM and their “intellectuals” to suggest that RG showed a ‘broad vision’ during his speech at the CII on April 4 must take extraordinary wisdom or predictable ass-licking. These guys fail to see what ordinary Indians can plainly see.

Rajdeep Sardesai, Meghnad Desai, S. Varadarajan and many more have been desperate to cover up the lack of intelligence or vision from RG. I am discounting politicians since their views will be politically coloured. It is fun to laugh at his gaffes like Girish the painter or carpenter or Rani ki Jhansi or India being a Beehive but there is something far more dangerous. Is India some kind of toy that some dimwit kid can play with? This is the serious question both the Congress party and the media will need to honestly answer.

If one looks at the journey of past PMs who weren’t from the Nehru-Gandhi clan even they too have had tough journeys through their life. Even Manmohan Singh who is rated poorly as a PM has made his way up from humble beginnings. There is nothing about RG that suggests he has learnt anything about India. Nobody even knows where he is half the time. His parliamentary attendance is probably among the worst. And some in the media find this guy “inspirational”? I guess slavery hasn’t ended yet in India. RG visits a slum woman and her kids. One of them aspires to be an IAS officer and our little boy says “Not happening”! They find this inspirational? And then he tells the audience nobody is gonna come riding on a horse. Does he believe Indians are stupid enough to wait for the Knight in shining armour who will come to their emotional rescue? That is a Mick Jagger fantasy. He refers to The Buddha as a "gentleman from Bihar who changed Japan 3000 years ago" as if The Buddha was a regular cabinet colleague. That's how "Indian" he is!

What does it say about a 42 year old man who reads from a written speech (which is not a sin) but can’t even get his papers right. In the middle of the speech he hunts for the pages which have anecdotes about women. Seriously, you recall anecdotes from printed pages? This is the moment which should have told India this man has absolutely no life experience, empathy or understanding of any kind. Take a look:

I lost it”? No dear Rahul, I think it’s the people at CII who invited you to speak who have really lost it. The top guns of Indian business wanted to be lectured by a person who has absolutely no record of any accomplishment or performance? Even the late bandit-queen-turned-MP Phoolan Devi could have spoken more realistically and passionately about women issues. In any keynote address there’s at least one (or two) thing that indicates a decisive direction or stand that the speaker takes and it marks his policy statement. There was absolutely nothing. ZERO! RG took 37 minutes to answer two questions after his speech which amounted to nothing more than stand-up comedy. Sunetra Chaudhary of NDTV was cooing about RG’s new “walking style” and everybody echoed how it was so different and informal. Really? Was this supposed to be an informal CII meet? I didn’t see the audience in party-wear or tight jeans. RG’s “walkabout” reminded me of Bill Maher’s stand-up shows. Take a look and see how similar it is. That Indian stand-up guy “Pehchan Kaun” could have done it much better.

I believe everyone knows the CII guys were just being kind in not lampooning RG after his speech and stand-up. As hosts I don’t expect them to speak unkindly of their guest, it’s not fair. But that doesn’t alter the fact they knowingly invited a person unqualified to address them merely out of political equations and persuasions. Nothing more, nothing less! So that brings us to the important question. Why is a man like RahulG, who is reluctant to take on any responsibility, doesn’t want any accountability, is not seeking to be PM and doesn’t even think he can solve any problems being touted as a contestant against Narendra Modi? If Modi were the Apple, it’s not even an Orange to Apple comparison it’s a Peanut to Apple comparison which no sensible person would ever make. This is quite intriguing. So suppose there is indeed a Modi V Gandhi contest I don’t think that Gandhi is Rahul Gandhi. That Gandhi pretty much remains Sonia Gandhi which her party and media are trying their best to mask. Rahul Gandhi is just a decoy to make the country believe it’s NaMo V RaGa. It is not!

The whole MSM idea which has been fed to them by the Congress party is to flank the “Queen Bee”. This is not the first time I am mentioning it. Do read “Flanking The Queen & Protecting Her Secrets” written in October 2012. Modi has rarely attacked any Congress member or even RahulG. His severest attacks have always been reserved for Sonia Gandhi. In the process of projecting a Rahul V Modi combat the media is cleverly again flanking SoniaG from all the attention. The slave media is sworn to protect their “crumbs-giver”. This helps to keep SoniaG from scrutiny and attention from the BJP and the general public. Clever, isn’t it? Many elections have proved beyond doubt that SoniaG remains the Congress’s best vote-catcher. Any exposure of SoniaG to any kind of attack or scrutiny can dent the prospects substantially. So throw in RahulG who aspires for nothing as the “defender” whom they hope Modi will challenge. They will make RahulG appear more frequently in public hoping he will improve with time so that when the final battle comes he would be washed of as much criticism as possible and there is nothing at all against Sonia Gandhi.

On the public front no other Congress member even warrants or gets any attention, so a Gandhi, even if it’s Rahul, is handy to presently combat all the attention that Modi is running away with. But the whole Rahul Gandhi V Modi is a great farce being played out by the MSM. In the real Modi V Gandhi contest it’s not Rahul but Sonia Gandhi who will be the defender. Mark these words. If RahulG said “I am irrelevant” a bit thoughtfully, I believe he is right even politically and factually.

  1. Manmohan Singh is an uninspiring person (I cannot say he is a leader). RahulG is more than that, uninspiring, naive and pessimistic. He thinks either he or MMS cannot solve any problems that India is facing. He also thinks stupidly that no one else can solve (since he cannot solve). I have not watched any national level speech this pathetic.

No, I'm not suggesting SoniaG wants to or is going to be PM candidate. Just saying that the Cong+Media wants to keep SoniaG's slate clean and Rahul to take all the blitz of criticism. When the final moment comes and campaign starts there wont be much of RahulG to talk about.

I think, with every passing day,the KhanChris realises that RaGa is a lost cause. How much spin can the doctors impart to straighten doubts, after every speech?More over the pitches are not as conducive to 'spin' nowadays thanks to Media Crooks and the likes.I have heard all the questions raised at the conclave and they were by no means out of the blue.It evoked a kind of Deja Vu.They were all questions that even a UP/Bihar politician can answer in his/her own style. But to take the nation on a moral tour to answer them is disgusting.Imagine answering a question on waste disposal without even once mentioning the key word.Imagine answering a question on centre state relation without evenonce mentioning the key word. This is exactly where NaMo scores in terms of clearity of thoughts. It is well said that the most useful things needs no marketing. What needs marketing is anybody's guess.

A magician would call this illusion. It must be wishful thinking by congress party to have Modi fight it out with Rahul while the Queen-Ji watches from behind the curtains and just about when enough muck has been thrown around she comes out unharmed and untouched reclaiming her vote banks...Modi is not a fool is what they don't get.

  9. Yet another ploy could be of creating RaGa sympathy. MMS owes his second term allegedly to the sympathy wave created by the "weak PM "reference by Advaniji. The story of 'maut ka saudagar' is legendry.Going by the reaction of the electorate in the face of the demise (natural or otherwise)of a leader is another point to ponder over. We know how Narasimha Rao govt got a ruling mandate rising from the ashes of a dismal performance, thanks to Rajiv assasination. My only request to nationalists is to never overdo this business of critiscism of anyone. We are a sentimental race or atleast the majority are. This barrage of pooh poohing can finally make someone a fall guy worthy of sympathy and we will play to the hands of the designers.

Atleast rahulG had guts to campaign in UP despite knowing that congress will fail there. and here we have our leader in contention for highest office not at all associating himself with karnataka campaign since he knows that bjp is fighting a lost battle there. An extremely safe play i presume. and NO, this 3D tech wont work in india. people here want leaders to ocme and address them physically not on a computer screen.
there should be no comparison between rahulG and modiji, but i would put rahulG ahead of the latter, atleast in the Guts department( i just coined this term).

    1. Looking at it from another angle,U must remember that Rahul Khan works under a different environment. You could surmise it as 'Heads I win tails u lose" system. If he wins even one seat more than before it is played up as a huge break through with MSM tom toming it. If the results turn to be disastrous then it is the lack of local organisational set up and he will apparently make a show of strengthening the grass roots. NaMo has no such privileges. Even if he makes a substantial gain in Karnataka he will still be branded a loser even if BJP misses the mark narrowly. Being from Karnataka i can vouch for a decent performance from BJP as it is.But the credit will never go to NaMo even if he takes the plunge.Karnataka has fever pseudo secular electorate compared to many other large states. That is the basis of my optimism.

  11. Your observations might be right. Since running the party (and collect 'funds') is the only aim of the congress, it would hardly matter to the queen bee whether MMS or RG acts as a proxy for her. On a divergent note, does anyone perceive a shift (even if miniscule) in the media's attitude towards Modi / BJP or am I imagining things? Have rats already sensed impending sinking of the ship?

  12. Was expecting this piece since the time joker spoke on 4th April.

If I am not mistaken, it was mentioned a few days earlier in Business Standard that RG may not take any questions. But it was clear from the two questions that it was a ploy to showcase that RG handled queries from industry.

The questions were already guided but even then he could not answer. It was like a kid not being able to answer questions in an open book exam. He was absolutely hopeless.

Smriti Irani said it right that Industry being courteous was taken as them applauding him.

A few observations, of a very close friend of mine who works in CII are given below.

    1. Questions were doctored/prompted. It followed a standard pattern which CII staff can make out very easily.
    2. Not confirmed but one of his colleagues told him that even Priyanka was there in the VIP lounge but did not come out.
    3. Those in the main hall could not leave for security reasons but there was another room available for viewing on screen and people (including CII staff and other invitees) had started saying “kya bol raha hai – bakwaas hai” after about 10-15 minutes.
    4. For CII it was a good case of marketing that there brand got noticed.
    5. RG speech was great – was the ‘official party’ line.

I tend to agree with you that RG is more of red herring. Control is and will be the roman SG.

I also noticed what @ terry john has mentioned. Then Media thinks that they are pure and above all. Manish Tiwari said that he feared Modi organizing riots before elections. Nobody questioned him that did Rajiv Gandhi did the same in 1984 and why don’t all riots that happened under Congress regimes fall under same bracket.

  18. Kid's kindergarten speech was absolutely out-of-place. The way he dressed showed that he's going to take the ritual morning shit & eventually got an immediate request from CII to grace and bless their ceremony with his stand-up comedy. And being magnanimous, he couldn't refuse. I wonder why loyal slaves Sardesai & Barkha didn't make this a national headline: 'Rahul Baba didn't take his morning shit to address economic concerns - Wow what a patriot!'. It was really pathetic to see that eminent newspaper like ET sounded completely sycophant and showered virgin roses by potraying that entire gathering experienced a divine orgasm by the time his speech ended. He read about 'Inclusive Growth' - ask him the meaning and he fart helplessly. Author of this blog has caught the right nerve by saying that 'India is not his toy'. Certainly not! This retard should be grateful that he was invited to speak infront of people who have worked day & night to reach that height unlike him who has just been a lucky sperm. Not a single newschannel/newspaper showed Dr. Subramaniam Swany's views on his kindergarten speech. Atleast, seeing Meghnad Desai and Swaminathan Aiyer critising (though bit assertively)this hopeless retard was somewhat sensible. We don't have to worry about this retard - if he has not learned any politics in these many years having the blood of the Nehrus (not Gandhi) then he can never learn it. It's pathetic that our country is showcasing this retard as its leader.

  21. Dear Ravi!!

In my view another strategy Mainstream Media is playing these days is of over exposure of Narendra Modi. One can see that happening in all panel discussions @ 9pm. Everything NaMo says or does becomes a talking point.
It is a bitter truth that media helps influence what issues voters should care about in elections and what criteria they should use to evaluate candidates. The fact that MSM keeps talking about Gujarat riots is a clear indication of the fact that they want to polarise elections of 2014 between hindus and muslims.

Kangrace lacks spine to think beyond the confines of the family, and will not let any one take the mantle unless he/she sold their soul to the queen bee. The country has made progress only when two PMs - PV and AB - two really distinct statemen politicians saw India beyond themselves, politics and their parties. Was CII so befuddled to be not able to see what a charlatan this gentle man is? Looks like any Tom, Dick and Harry could have done much better. Heck, a slum dweller down on his luck, could have rented a tuxedo, walked on to the podium, and delivered cogent and tangible solutions on how his/her local municipality could address the issues. Of course, NDTV would have been airing a program by barfi interviewing mushy.

  37. Insightful as usual!

One correction though. A peanut is a rich source of nutrients. And being relatively inexpensive (compare to other dry fruits) it is of great value to the common man.

Not sure of Rahul Baba's usefulness though. Modi on the other hand needs no resume polishing. It is really a hajmola to Apple comparison

  38. When I was seeing our CON PAID MEDIA crook, I remember the movie "Fatal Vows: The Alexandra O'Hara Story" starring John Stamos. Very dangerous character played by John Stamos. Serial Killer who even does not spare his 12+ old niece. He picks her up after school, rapes and kills her.

Full of intrigue. The movie shows how he twists or tells small lies so causally about little things, big things just twist things so no one really notices but he gets away with murder after murder. When I see our media, I remember that character. Little Lies, twists, lies here, lies there to just put words into mouths of people, make people believe lies smoothly.

Sagarika, Burkha, Sardeep all come into this category. There are hundreds of these characters who start propagating these little lies so that CON brigade can pick up and spread lies, canards about Modi, BJP or anyone who can threaten the DIEnasty.

    Just an example:

    http://www.rediff.com/news/slide-show/slide-show-1-rahul-at-cii-this-is-how-my-politics-is-different-from-modi/20130404.htm

    Another DIEnasty bootlicker Sheela Bhatt.

Read carefully how she plants lies, canards on Modi and subtle lies to enhance PAPPU's image:

    1. First look at the title:
Rahul@CII: This is how my politics is different from Modi

    2.Look at this word "Frightening":

If one came to Sri Ram College in a designer kurta and Gucci stole, the other came in with trimmed hair and an ordinary cotton kurta-pyjama. Modi was unerring and frighteningly strong, Rahul was sometime nervous, sometime confident, sometime stubborn and sometime naive.

what is frightening about this speech. He said "I". For this CON woman, that is frightening.

    3. Modi was a 100 percent politician at Sri Ram College while Rahul was boringly human at the Confederation of Indian Industry event. Once he even lost his connect to the written speech and too many times he paused with the audience not knowing what's happening to his thought process. But Rahul established that his heart is in right place even though he gave an idea that his knowledge base lacks depth.

If some one gives a vision clearly, it seems he is 100% politician but PAPPU's heart is right place.

4.She then slips in "young and honest person like him" referring to Rahul.

So how does she know he is honest? If the billions looted by CONs are parked in the Queen Bee's SWISS accounts, he has no accountability?

  39. Brilliant Ravijee, thanks for keeping light on the Queen Bee.

Some one who has lived in Beehive with Queen Bees all his life, can not comprehend life beyond Beehive. No wonder Amul Baby still is mesmerized by Beehives.

On the other hand, can Alvi Mian sing Vande Mataram, a bit loudly please. That will be test of Khangress Parties love for Mother India. But, bet these Mother F$$$ers Khangress can never do that.

You don't need MSM to divert debate to Modi vs RaGa to protect SG. You provoke some BJP leaders (LKA?), they will attack MMS knowing fully well that it is bound to be futile, media would gladly lap it up and do endless debate on this so that no one talks about SG.

“Don’t play or go out too much in the sun, you’ll become black”........this is the epitome of your whole write up; that succinctly explains the disconnect between power elite/ruling congress regime and we the mango people.

This is off the topic but I could'nt resist this---When "Chintan Shivir" was held , a bulky Lady sitting to the right back suddenly got up and took SG's right hand and planted a kiss and at that time I felt this ritual was so un-indian.! I have never seen an Indian Politician do this.Any opinion from Media Crooks Fans, about this and who the Lady is.

  47. Just wanted to post something I saw on tv. TimesNow discussion with Sanjay Jha barking away as usual! He is such a stooge. You have almost 3 other panelists including Meghnad Desai, Swami Aiyar and another person from CII, I guess. All three were saying "Why did he not even mention one point? One Policy?"

And what does Sanjay Jha the neanderthal baboon do. Keeps repeating bogus about "No everyone must be taken along. Superb speech...etc" These guys are so obtuse, makes you cringe! Makes attacks on Modi: 2002, communal, idea of India BS and now the new apple on the tree "Lokayukta". His accent makes him unbearable.

Please let us sign a PIL to block Sanjay Jha from tv. His annoyance, ignorance and god-knows-why arrogance is causing bowel discomfort to millions of viewers. At least have a parental advisory disclaimer, that the person you are about to see next on the panel discussion is regarded as "inappropriate to look at or listen to" in many cultures.

  48. I am sure we will see Ravinar's new piece on Modi's FICCI event soon. But here are some tweets I want to share with MC readers.

To counter the above two things, Congress had its own sparkles :D

  49. I would disgrace Mr Beans ( Rowan Atkinson) act if I compare our Pappu (Rahul baba), and maybe get a reprimand if my kids saw this post. But I don't figure out how to place this guy on my books. Surely Beans makes you free up, but this guy doesn't even have an aura or positive vibes and gets you the gut feeling of running away as in the boring classes - but you cannot. Isn't the dislikes anything Italian very global - mafiosi etc. - and secretive Vatican that thrives there ----- I know, I know, I can't mask away the Mother India with mother italiano. Step mothers are just the bad feelings --- make do. But she's queen to some !!! for "con-venience" sake -- maybe -- so what? One Cannot -- Willnot forget the warmth of their-own original mother. Let NaMo give credits to Mother India than the Gujarati Father India.
