Desperate Measures - Part 10 (The Loveable Poison)

The Lovable Poison:

On November 20 NCW member Nirmala Prabhawalkar, talking to Rajdeep Sardesai, stated they have no reason to believe the letter of the father of Madhuri (an alias) mentioning he doesn’t want to lodge any complaint, that the surveillance was with his knowledge was authentic. I wonder how she arrived at that conclusion. Has she read the letter herself? Was there any forensic examination to check whether it is authentic? Had she spoken to the father? This trash was passed by Rajdeep and no questions were asked. The NCW chairperson Mamata Sharma earlier stated they would not pursue the matter further after the father’s letter. She is contesting elections on a Congress ticket from Rajasthan and on November 21 again changed her position on it. Cobrapost seems to have had these snoop videos for a while but they timed it after the Sachin retirement show and just before the Tehelka rape scandal broke. Stalking, snooping and all kinds of words were used against Narendra Modi.

In 48 hours the media ‘Hammam’ had to face the rude jolt of  actual rape incident of one of their own. This was worse than the snooping, stalking or surveillance that they wanted to flatten Modi with. I have every reason to believe based on sombre responses to the Tarun Tejpal rape of a young woman that all media celebs were already aware of the incident. Barkha, Rajdeep, Sagarika are all practically in the Hammam with Tehelka and they have enough “sources” from within to know what had happened. They simply didn’t expect the crap would hit the fan. So the Cobrapost moronery was dealt a blow. But let’s leave Tehelka for another day. It is how the Congress has tried to smear Modi that is miserably failing. And why such a continuous effort? Didn’t the Queen say “power is poison”? So what is she hankering after?

Oh yeah, power is poison she said. Her son understood the deep philosophy behind those words and repeated them at his party meeting in January 2013. The media parrots did their “wah wah” at such an emotional sacrifice that both mother and son were constantly making. Why then does Sonia Gandhi who thinks power is poison love it so much that she floats bankrupting schemes like FSB or MNREGA? She got an economy in reasonably good shape in 2004 but by 2012-13 there were no buyers for even privatisation shares or even foreign FDI retail investors who were willing to risk investing in India. Imagine the economy was a plate of fish the Congis got in 2004. What you see in 2013 is it’s been eaten right down to the bones. Nothing left. And the Congress GOI has no clue where the next fish is coming from but keeps throwing money around. Everywhere you turn there has been massive loot and scams. Why does poison then have so much attraction for her and Rahul Gandhi? Here’s a clipping from The Michigan Daily of September 11, 1977:

The Boeing Company confirmed the payment in a testimony to the US Senate. I am not aware what happened to that story and how it ended. With what face are these Chinese Gandhis going around saying “power is poison”? RahulG was born into power and turned out a duffer on every issue he talks about and has earned the nickname “Pappu”. That is not all, the culture of mega-scams first started with Bofors when Rajiv Gandhi was in charge. What was his poison? Nobody is in doubt where the money went and who were the people involved. Power is poison? Dr. Subramaniam Swamy often refers to Swiss bank accounts and payments by Russians to the Gandhis in a book by Yevgenia Albats. Here’s a clipping from her book that is shocking to read.

If power was such poison and all that motivated Sonia Gandhi to fight for power is to serve the poor and “all inclusive, all inclusive” or screaming “secular, secular, secular’ how does she explain all the scams and corruption under her nose? Or is that she is so busy minding the poison that she is totally unaware of what goes on?

It is the first time in 66 years in political battles that one man is so severely threatening the Congress and threating the poison Sonia loves so much. And why so much loot and so many scams? Where does the money go? Perhaps some of it goes to ‘personal welfare’ of Congis but a good bit also goes to ‘buying out the media mafia’ and election campaigns. That’s the only purpose Congress exists. To somehow win elections! RahulG goes around asking the BJP claims development but who that development is for. The poor villagers don’t get to question him but you do. After all, one of the highest individual growths in terms of wealth is that of one other than Robert Vadra (who, incidentally, is a small farmer). And then how do they counter Modi? With name-calling crap! Call him Hitler, fascist, divisive, polarising but by now people are tired and this mud-slinging keeps making him more popular. The Congress has so denuded and devalued the PM’s office that even he isn’t spared from being called “Chor” or people are now reacting harshly with placards like in the image. Let’s take up a case study.

RahulG got his nickname “Pappu” for his stupid, mindless utterances. So the Congis sponsored a nickname “Feku” for Modi. What happened? The day #Feku trended the media mafia, NDTV, CNN-IBN in particular, ran special programmes on #Feku. They enjoyed that somehow Modi had a nickname. But did it last? Pappu is a “positioning” in people’s minds. #Feku was a sponsored brand that didn’t last. Hardly anyone uses #Feku anymore but #Pappu continues to endure. Even the media morons started using #Pappu in their tweets. But they never ran any programmes on the Pappu phenomenon. In a political battle, when people give a name to someone it is difficult to erase; like ‘10%’ nickname given to Zardari of Pakistan. When a name is part sponsored by the media, it doesn’t last long. Telly-Troll Barkha Dutt may just be tweeting lightly, but you cannot miss her deep desire to make “Sahebzada” stick to Modi. Will it? Some Congis have to use that in their campaigns. Who will? SoniaG has already burned her fingers and mouth with “Maut ka Saudagar” and she’s comfortable reading from Italian scripts. Will Pappu do it? If he does, he will probably also put his foot in his mouth again and shoot it too, a la “Rani Ki Jhansi”.

Can Narendra Modi be criticised? Sure! And he must be criticised but not foolishly with mindless blabbering and name-calling. I have trashed Modi a couple of times and his fanatic followers were up in arms. I trashed him on the “Sauchalaya first, Devalaya later” nonsense also and the response of the fanatics was no different. It is okay if Jairam says “Toilets first, temples later” because he belongs to a Chrislam party. Jairam doesn’t calculate how many toilets he can build if Congis hadn’t scammed over 10 lakh crores. Jairam is a sidekick, Modi is a PM candidate. Why should Modi indulge in that nonsense? If toilets are a priority for Modi why did he prioritise the Sabarmati River Front (SRF)? I would estimate the total cost of SRF at around 5K-10K crores or thereabouts. If he had built roads, no problems! If he had built schools, no problems! If he had built hospitals, no problems! But why SRF? Did anyone demand it? Was it a pressing need for the people? Did people petition Modi to speed up the SRF? Were people suffering without the SRF like some suffer without a toilet? Most Amdavadis weren’t even aware of such a project for many years. Nothing! No reason other than beautification of the city or a passion.

Please do note that the SRF was proposed long back under a Congress govt, Modi only prioritised it. He could have prioritised toilets instead. Facts disturb people. No one in the media ever brought this up. Instead, like Barkha they think “White beard” and “Sahebzada” are better election ploys. That could partly be true because if people relied purely on facts would they ever vote for a corrupt and non-democratic Congress? But the Congress corruption and misrule has reached such intolerable levels that nobody is really willing to buy their nonsense anymore. Even Barkha Dutt has temporarily stopped “evolving” Pappu. Other cronies like Rajdeep Sardesai and Sagarika Ghose, unable to tout Congress anymore have turned to the AAP party. When was the last time a news channel analysed a party’s election manifesto? Err… that was in 1857 when Mangal Pandey was around. Since that event the first one to analyse an election manifesto was Karan ‘The Tool’ Thapar who analysed the AAP Party’s election manifesto on November 20. I didn’t watch it but Rajdeep had tweeted about it. Maybe KT analysed the AAP manifesto thoroughly and found Modi was a “divisive and polarising” figure. That’s not so hard, is it? How desperate can these guys get? Unfortunately for Numero Uno and C5M the AAP guys too were caught in a sting operation over fund collections. Life goes on!

So in absence of any real plans or national agenda, the Congress can only hurl rubbish and talk more rubbish. Dr. Rahul Gandhi keeps telling villagers “roads and airports cannot feed you”. The man simply does not understand anything. He now even brazenly lies that the UPA built more roads than the NDA which the UPA govt itself has certified to the contrary in the Supreme Court. So at frequent intervals (sometimes even daily basis) some Cobrapost or Tehelka or NDTV or CNN-IBN has to come up with some nonsense about Modi. It’s desperate times. Oh wait! I have to now drop one player from that list; Tehelka which is now on death bed. The rest, like idiots will keep going and make Modi even more popular. Having nothing to show on the development or governance front, the milking of emotions and playing victim will grow bigger. I am naturally reminded of a different version of “Sing a song of sixpence” except that in this case it’s a Queen and her son (2.37 mins):

Only John Lennon could have dreamed of Royalty as the song does. I leave the meaning of the words in that song to your interpretation. Power corrupts; absolute power…  Oops! Ram Jethmalani reminded the Parliament in December 2011 about a change in that saying: “Power corrupts but the prospect of losing power corrupts even more”. It’s now beyond the prospect of losing. It is now a very desperate situation. At times like these maybe it explains why this “poison” is the most loveable option for the Gandhis.

This concludes the ‘Desperate Measures’ series.

  2. Brilliant article. I am a strong supporter of Modi and will vote for him but I completely agree upon coming with the right criticism when he falters. Otherwise, aren't we building another Congress from scratch? With regards to "Pehle Shauchalay..." , will he have the guts to say Im reducing the Haj pension to build Shauchalay? In fact he was ready to show that as a mark of communal harmony in his state.

    1. @Ramaswamy, regarding ur policy on conditional criticism may i remind u that we have long past that stage. Today what is required is unconditional support. Take a lesson or two from the prominent minority. They dont utter a word of dissent even when anti national terrorists undermine the nation.Forget about political correctness for the time being. Be straight in ur support.

      Delete
    2. Well just going by your argument on "prominent minority", they support anyone who espouses the cause of their religion. I am precisely doing that and dont even need lesson or two from you or anybody else. I owe my allegiance to the dharma and not any individual. An allegiance to an individual, may it be, mahatma Gandhi,Nehru or the loathsome Mafiaso family, is to be condemned. In fact, why do you need a responsible media/democracy, if the support is going to be unconditional. To err is human but Modi needs to accept that flaw in his argument

    1. My suggestion is that the series should be on the "faulty" EVMs. Only two other countries use EVMs - Nigeria and Venezuela. US, UK, Germany do not. They use paper-based ballot. Our EVMs are based on a microcontroller made by a Japanese firm and they have said that the microcontroller is incapable of being used for something as important as EVMs. See Subramaniam's You Tube video on this subject. Plain shocking.

  11. Somethings about the 'snoopgate' (which doesnt look like snoop at all)

These conversations date to 2009. The recorded conversations are of Amit Shah. Since those who tapped the phones didnt know what conversation is going to take place, they must have a lot more recorded conversation in possession and must have analyzed all that for innumerable times to find something incriminating. Tapping phones of a home minister cannot be done by state police ... at least not without solid support from central agencies. It follows that central agencies were tapping phones of Shah, Modi and most of BJP leaders since Congress came to power ie 2004. The tapes were leaked in 2013. So in all of 9 years of recorded conversation of almost every BJP leader they could find this 'snoopgate' as the most damaging piece. LOL ... I cannot stop laughing.

Think about it ... those who tapped the phones must be hoping that these BJP leaders would say something sinister about Muslims ... or at the very least something even mildly abusive .... 9 years of tapping ... 4-5 leaders in every state totaling more than 100 BJP leaders ... thousands of hours of conversation ... multitude of 'caged parrots' (CBI/etc) poring over it all for years and years ....

and NOT EVEN ONE sentence against muslims by even one of the leaders accused of being anti-muslim. ..... NOT EVEN ONE minute of abuse

That actually speaks very highly of BJP. Someone from BJP should point out this fact to the electorate. If this doesn't prove pure secularism of BJP, I dont know what does.

  12. I believe that no one should be free from factual criticism in a democracy. Modi himself mentioned several times in his speeches that he welcomes criticism based on facts, but not biased & baseless allegations. I did criticize his remarks on using GM seeds for improving cotton productivity in Gujarat. He responded to my criticism & Off late Modi started talking about Organic Farming.

Unfortunately, CONgress has created mountains of issues in the country, which are seriously threatening the foundations of India and its ethos. Do we cry over Toilets/prioritizing SRF/etc. when our very existence is under grave threat? Indians had made a blunder of dethroning NDA in 2004 by picking tiny holes in NDA. Let us not digress from the goal of "CONgress Mukth Bharat"

  13. Great one as always, I think you also need to highlight the 17000 BJP supporters who were not allowed to vote in C'gh. With many seats being won and lost by margin of few thousands, such mischief can tilt the balance unfavorably.
I had also read a TOI report long back that more than 17 lakh fake voters were registered in Delhi and they were all found to be in areas where Congress had won MLA seats in 2009. This, as usual, did not excite our MSM for lengthy debates on prime time.

    ReplyDelete
  14. In desperate times like this, Congress can go to any length to win and rely on MSM to give it a ethical flavor for those filthy actions. I also saw some tweets from cvoter that Bangaru Laxman's sting also did not have anything him committing to do any wrong. But the ganged up media showed it in poor light. Many such lies have passed as gospel truths in last 10 years. Maybe the payback time has started.
But knowing Congress, fake voters, EVM manipulation, deny legit voters their right and last but not the least, bribe gullible voters, their list of tricks is endless.
Hope these things will also get their due expose.

That said, your criticism is valid as SRF and BRTS were fast-tracked compared to sanitation projects. However, I want you not to miss-out on facts.

  22. A very commendable and consistent work by Mr. Ravinar. You have showed the power of an individual and his quest for facts actually achieve results. I would like to sum up some of the indisputable facts that stands out from your 10 part series:

    1. Instead of just being one of the CM of a state like others, Modi was catapulted into limelight by the unnatural and continous hounding of him for 2002 riots by Congress, Media and other assorted cottage industry.

    2. The media celebs like Burkha, Rajdeep and sundry others, who were mere anchors/journalists till 2002, through their coverage of 2002 riots began to see grand illusions of themselves as power brokers.
    3. Congress always looking for shortcuts, entered into an unholy alliance with these deluded media celebs and the assorted NGSos to defeat Modi in 2002, 2007 without success.
    4. Their failure to defat Modi politically fed into their hatred for him and they have now gone so far into a road to nowhere, that it is impossible for themselves to take an u-turn into neutral territory.
    5. It's a fact that even if some real wrong doings of Modi need to be questioned, the present lot of politicians (Congis, SP, BSP; JUD, NCP, etc.) and media have zero credibilty amongst general public to question him.
    6. A completely fresh set of journalists need to emerge in the forefront of MSM who can question all political parties with credibility, including and in particularly Modi. The kind of unquestionable adultation (quite understandable in the present circumstances) for Modi should not be continued and sustained. Otherwise, as you put it aptly, we will continue to live under disguised democracy with Gandhis replaced by Modi.

All in all, it has been a wonderful and factful ride so far with your blog and wish you continued success. Dare I hope you can possibly be the harbinger of a new and credible MSM.

    1. Kalps1616, Modi is not from dynasty politics stable. If that would have been the case, the party would not have anointed him as BJP PM candidate. The hate campaign against him by MSM has only made him familiar across the country(sans few regions) as he was already a proven chief minister, lauded by central and north india. Thanks to these agents, he has forayed in rest of india as well. At present, he is the best bet. We have to give him chance. We do not want any further divisive tactics on whatsoever lines/appeasement policies etc.

      @LondonHotels

This 1200 crores maybe only a segment. The overall project is much bigger so I would advise you search some more. Since a good reliable figure wasnt available I have just made an "Estimate" otherwise I would have quoted a reliable figure. It is both banks and stretches over 10 kms.. so that needs some verification. This 1200 is being bandied about but I dont consider it reliable..

    1. @Happy40

Your disagreement is fine. I have lived in Ahmedabad too for a very long time. This blog has recorded the fact that Modi has demolished many illegal temples in Gandhinagar, including illegal encroaching temples. That doesnt alter anything. If his stated priority is building toilets then demolishing temples is not a consideration.

As for illegal temples that come up in places you talk about .. these are made by people who arent suffering for want of toilets. So I think get the perspective and context right.

      Delete
    2. With all due respect I do not agree with you sir. As for illegal temples that come up in places you talk about .. these are made by people who arent suffering for want of toilets. How do you know that they are not suffering from Toilet? Beside Modi has lots of money in Temples where it is needed just for eg. Somanth, Ambaji and others. Jost one eg if you visit IIM outsid of that institute on a foothpath there is small temple build illegally and I can site you many example like that in many part of Gujarat.

      Delete
    3. @Happy40

I have already stated... that I have lived probably as long you have (or even more) in Ahmedabad and travelled to every corner of Gujarat as well. So dont claim expertise based on that alone. I am aware of IIM and many other temples that come up illegally. I have seen small stones grow into large temples on footpaths. How is that connected to Modi's nonsense of Sauchalaya first? The question is what priorities Modi is following. I gave the example of SRF that certainly doesnt need priority if Modi felt toilets are priority.

What do you mean by Modi has money in temples? Govt is not in the business of building temples or contributing money to them. Somnath, Ambaji survive on donations, not Modi money or Govt money. The Trusts use that money to manage and maintain those temples. But govt is certainly in the business of building public utilities. So where does your point about illegal temples by private individuals connect with Modi's priorities? IIM is certainly not an area where residents suffer without toilets. And if a public toilet is to be built there with water and drainage connections it is certainly the govt/municipality that controls the resources not those who build these illegal temples. It is not that Modi has a lot of money in temples.. You probably wanted to say that a lot of temple money funds Modi's party or campaign.

Merely because you live in Ahmedabad is not an argument.

      Delete
    4. How is that connected to Modi's nonsense of Sauchalaya first? Sir your argument is quite weak. What I read from you is that Modi should have made Tample first but not Toilet first as a issue. Than you try to bring SRF to support your view which I think was not necessary. If you say you lived long in Ahmedabd than you should know history of Sabarmati River. Please visit SRF now and compare her to 10 years back. I don't want tell you what benefit has brought to citizens of that city compare to Yamuna/Ganga rivers. This will be my last comments. As I said earlier I always I enjoyed your writing and continued to do so in future.

    5. @Happy40

Hahaha! Now I see what your problem is. What you read is that Modi should build temple first? LOL! I am sorry, I think I have wasted my time. And further, I have lived bang next to where the SRF is for most of my life in Ahmedabad. Anyway, I think I now get the reason why you argued so much... because you think I suggest Modi should build temples first??? Next time please do read the articles a bit more carefully.

    6. Dear Happy40,

A small correction : Modi never said Toilet/Mandir. He stated Sauchalay/Devalay which literally means Toilets / Places of Worship. It could be a little insulting to a proud hindu but not said intentionally by Namo. There is a thin line between being derogatory & having a different approach towards progress in a democracy.

  28. Ravinar,

Thanks for putting your views so elequently and I would add something perhaps to give clarity on issues pertaining to Modi.

Modi's alleged failures Vs Modi's real failures.
Allegation1: He failed to stop 2002, riots(either indifference or complicit)
Fact: He acted as swiftly and as sternly as one can get. He shot 150 members of the majority community to stop the violence, lest their tear down anything that resembles Muslim. There is no precedence in history when the forces were deployed in a matter of three days. SIT would be a good document to read. Since Modi was already from Right win, he was assumed as culprit even without investigation.

Alleged Failure 2: He has a pretty bad record Human Development Indices (HDI) in Gujarat.
Fact: In any state where tribal population is high, HDI indicators take time to improve, more to the point that a significant section of the population is vegetarian. Gujarat was the most improved state with respect with respect to malnutrition (central figures notify this, read related story in First post). Secondly, For Gujarat which follows right wing liberal economics, their ideology is first to create sustainable growth to the populace which after reaching a state will automatically buy the related nutrients from market (this is the most sustainable way of growing unlike the NREGA growth which perpetuates dependence).

    Modi's Real Failures:
Modi's Real Failure 1: Inspite of decade long growth, some how Modi failed to improve higher education and Gujarat lacks in terms of R&D with respect to IT or BT. Bangalore still attracts most of the investment with respect to R&D.
Modi's credible excuse : Yes Gujarat's development in Higher education and R&D is low, but what we need is mass employment with semi-skilled labour able to find jobs. So his model provides more jobs than anybody albeit low income ones.

Modi's Failure 2: Sanitation: Inspite of rapid growth and almost 2nd in per-capita among large states (Delhi or NE states must be discounted when we compare bigger relevant states), Gujarat is bottom of the list with respect to take to good sanitation. Liberal business model didn't help him in the process.

Modi's legitimate excuse: The problem of sanitation is not about funding but about culture. The problem is not money since the state is not only growing fast, but the populace has enough money to build toilets, except for their indifference. In fact, this is an all India problem, Villagers somehow doesn't think this as priority!! Even though they can afford TV's, Bikes or electrical equipment and electronic equipment, they still defecate in the open. Perhaps urbanization is the only solution to this and Modi is not the only one to fail here. Even few years back my village relatives didn't think it was necessary and they had Toilets almost broken without any supply of water. We had to take water in other utensils when we had to discharge our bowels!! This is all-India phenomenon. Only with a propaganda parallel to Girl education or Polio Campaign can ban this social evil.

  29. Amazing , brilliant analysis, i read all the part.
To show the true color of media, here is a article in TOI:
    http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Gujarat-owes-Madhya-Pradesh-crores-as-power-dues/articleshow/26217055.cms

The irony is Every state is liable to every other state in some manner or another. It can be electricity, it can be agriculture, it can be related to anything, But Showing the liability of Gujarat alone here is a wrong thing to do. When they are showing some statistics, they need to show all. This shows the true intention of main stream media.

    1. Sujit....It has been the Times of India's editorial policy since last many months, particularly after it had to publish a apology for a lie called Modi's Rambo act. They publish daily one negative story from Gujarat. I have never seen any positive story about Gujarat since then. It shows how they have pathological hatred towards BJP/NaMo and backs the dynasty.
