Why Modi Won't Leave It To No.10

Someone rightly said “Marketing is too important to be left to the marketing department”. This is the reason why CEOs and MDs in the most successful companies keenly look into every marketing strategy and tactic. They remain highly involved in marketing decisions and actions.

India were 254 for 6 when Sachin Tendulkar took an avoidable risk and was out caught. His glorious innings of 136 came to an end and he will never forget that test nor will many cricket-lovers in India. Sachin will look back on that innings, one of his best, with pride and regret. That was India V Pakistan at Chennai in 1999. India were just 17 runs short of victory. The last four batsmen added just 4 runs and India were bowled out, handing a 12-run electrifying victory to Pakistan. Sunil Gavaskar lamented “Sachin should have finished the job and not have left it to the remaining batsmen”. There is no way one can find fault with Sachin, although expecting him to have finished it off is fair, when the last four couldn’t manage even 17 runs. In a situation like that you finish the job.

There won’t be any dispute if I called Sachin a leader among batsmen although he may not have fared great as a captain. Amitabh Bachchan can be called a leader in acting and movies although he was miserable in politics. Our HATO club (Hammam Associates Treaty Organisation) in the media plays blind to the phenomenal leadership that stares them in their eyes. Narendra Modi’s story as a leader in contemporary world politics is by far the most outstanding story. A man hunted and pursued viciously by his political enemies with their bootlickers in media and establishment has not only survived them but has surpassed and beaten all of them hands down. He is the Prime Minister of India while the HATO club in the media and political domain languish in their bottomless pit of filth. Modi’s talent as a public servant has been nurtured from a young age. It stands to reason that he has acquired leadership skills in an area in which he possesses talent. If he had taken up acting maybe he would have fared as badly as Bachchan fared in politics.

Instead of analysing Modi’s leadership skills and techniques our media crooks have been talking nonsense all the time. They scream “Test for Modi” every time there is some event. America a test for Modi! Mangalyaan a test for Modi! China a test for Modi! Bye-polls a test for Modi! UN a test for Modi! I-Day speech a test for Modi! ISIS a test for Modi! LOC a test for Modi! Maharashtra and Haryana polls a test for Modi! Barkha’s make up a test for Modi! Oops! Not the last one. People are naturally laughing at our media clowns. While they pretend to be great political analysts, people are seeing them naked. Their eyes are so clouded with filth and hatred that they cannot see what is obvious to common men and women. Events of late aren’t any test for Modi. He has passed the toughest tests and become the PM. It is our media morons whose lives and survival are under a constant test. Along with Modi’s political opponents our HATO club made a lot of noise about Modi campaigning while there was friction at the LOC. His opponents made out the campaigning meant negligence of LOC. What do these idiots imagine or want people to believe? That a PM sits at his office and attends to only one thing during a day? Truth is that the Pakis have taken the beating of their life even as Modi continued with his campaign as this tweet reflects:

The action by Modi in empowering the Army/BSF to take appropriate retaliatory action is a huge deviation from the past. For a decade our stupid GOI usually came up with the nonsensical “Kadi Ninda” (Strong condemnation) for Pak atrocities on the LOC. Even the cartoonists did not miss the dramatic difference this time around with Modi as PM. This one below is among the best I have seen:

Now, those who are ranting about Modi campaigning heavily during these state elections had no complaints when the Limp Biskit MMS campaigned. It’s because MMS usually mumbles when he speaks and is a man who has never won a public election and nobody likes listening to him, except maybe Congi slaves. In contrast, Modi is a crowd puller, a great orator and has never lost a public election. That is what is causing them heartburn. Under Modi’s leadership the BJP’s stocks have grown dramatically and it threatens to wipe out our media’s crumb-feeder, the Congress and its Sicko alliance partners. In particular, in the large and important state of Maharashtra, our media crooks see a huge pot of gold for them disappearing if the Congress loses and BJP comes to power. So lately, they even started sucking up to the ShivSena that they genetically hate. Given its importance, Modi obviously lays huge value to the stakes in Maharashtra, a lot more than Haryana. It is natural that he chooses not to leave marketing to the marketing department. It is important to understand Modi’s leadership style which is demonstrated in various situations.

Leadership is a skill that can be acquired (if someone wants to). Leadership skills are also easier to acquire in a domain that one possesses talent in. No matter how much lipstick Barkha & Co. put on him, Rahul Gandhi’s talents clearly don’t lie in the political domain. Therefore, he is unable to establish leadership within his party or with people. Behind his back his own partymen scoff at him and some even openly call him a “joker”. There are broadly four leadership styles that are universally accepted. There are some who add one or two more as you can read here. There is no harm if you broaden your list with some variants. But the generally accepted four styles of leadership are plotted in this matrix below:

If I were to put Modi in one of these quadrants then it would clearly be S2. Modi is highly directive and also highly supportive. He does not take decisions which aren’t backed by full support or full scale action. The LOC action by our Army is a good indicator of that. It had the Paki PM running to the UN for help. Try and plot other political leaders and you will find a reasonable explanation on why some succeed and some don’t. Modi might take a decision and delegate but he will just as surely ensure that an issue reaches a desired outcome or as close as it can get. Do remember that there can be times when the leadership styles may float a bit here and there within these quadrants. Humans can be moody too but these styles largely define a consistent pattern for a leader’s style. The political leader forces and sets the agenda. Modi has left all the “caste & religion” discourse of the past far behind. He has forced every politician to talk about development, growth, cleanliness, employment. With such a leader a certain amount of chest-thumping is inevitable. What’s SoniaG’s chest-thumping all about? It’s nothing beyond Nehru-Gandhi because she doesn’t have major accomplishments to talk about and she certainly cannot be chest-thumping about her massive corruption and the corrupt govt she led.

What about Modi as a team player? He is often accused of being a dictator by his opponents and the media. Assertive, firm leaders do appear dictatorial at times. But what these folks forget is that Modi was a frontline RSS “Karyakarta”. It is impossible to survive in that position in RSS without being a team player. You have to climb the ladder the hard way in RSS no matter how much our media and sickular folks spew hatred against it. While spewing hatred against RSS our media never bothers to write about the team work or organisational structures of RSS. It is far from a dynastic organisation like the Congress or many of its clones and even others like AIADMK or DMK. For that matter it is extraordinary that in a country of feudal, dynastic outfits in politics BJP has managed to steer clear of such a structure. Democracy should count a blessing. So how would Modi fit in as a team player when it comes to it? Try and make your own decision with this chart:

Analyse Modi’s talks and walks. One will find he largely fulfils the roles demanded of him in various situations as a team-leader. At the heart of all his actions is the deep desire for his team to win. He wants BJP to win, he wants Congress obliterated. He has made no secret of his contempt for the dynastic and corrupt politics of Congress with his “Congress Mukt Bharat” call. He told street scumbag Rajdeep Sardesai after the 2007 Gujarat elections: “I am committed to a mission, not ambition’.

Will Modi make mistakes? Yes, he will. But as the leader of the country and of a political party his actions are oriented towards eliminating the risks of mistakes. That’s what any Marketing head does all the time in business. Doesn’t he? When push came to shove the BJP broke away from ShivSena. I had recommended this a long time ago. I don’t look at politics as a political analyst or expert. I look at it from a marketer’s angle on how best my products and services will fare and what decisions need to be taken. From that angle ShivSena was clearly a baggage that BJP should have thrown away a long time ago. Post-poll alliances from a position of strength is the way to go for a national party. The other thing is people are generally large-hearted and forgiving by nature. But they would forgive mistakes of any political leader provided they believe he is sincere, uncorrupt and there is no mal-intention in his decisions. Modi makes all that easy for people to forgive should he make mistakes. Can you say the same for Sonia or Pawar?

Modi is highly determined to wipe out the Congress and make India stronger and better. Those are his only motivations and nothing else. In the process he will desperately want his team to win in an important state in Maharashtra (and, of course, Haryana too although the stakes are much lesser). That he campaigns so heavily for his party is not to occupy the crease all by himself. That Gopinath Munde, a CM contender, died suddenly added to BJP’s problems. Here on, BJP will have to develop stronger state leaders like in MP, Rajasthan and Goa if they have to carry the battle forward. But all this media crap about Modi being constantly under “test” is a big load of rubbish. Electorally, Modi has nothing left to prove.

The 136 by Sachin Tendulkar is considered by many as one of the greatest test innings. It was an edge-of-the-seat contest with Pakistan. That loss didn’t make Sachin any less a great batsman or put him under test all his cricketing life. Did it? You win, you lose battles. So too in politics. The exit polls so far show BJP as the single largest party in both Maharashtra and Haryana. The media will now make it out to be defeat if BJP doesn’t get a clear majority. That is utter nonsense. Considering where BJP was in Maharashtra, an outcome of being the single largest party is a clear victory for BJP. All that is of much lesser significance for me. What is indeed significant is that, unlike Sachin, Modi is not going to leave it to batsman No.10. One of the team-leader’s roles is that of the “finisher” (Remember Dhoni in WC 2011?). And that is what upsets our media morons.

People criticize Dhoni too but given the resources at this disposal, he has, frankly, overachieved and so will Modi.

    2. Dhoni is a team leader. Since taking over as captain none of the players is playing for records unlike earlier times. Pillars of Indian team used to get stuck when nearing some landmark today they reach landmarks by sixes but never hold back the team.
Modi inspires his team and us all to make India win.

    3. "Congress mukt Bharat" by incorporating half of Congress! What an idea sirjee! What's next, "crime free India" by sending all criminals to parliament & legislatures?

Everyone agrees that UPA tenure saw the worst corruption in HISTORY! Yet how many UPA ministers have been prosecuted to date? ZERO! That's the definition of a banana republic.

After "advertising" with much fan-fare that Khemka & Durga Shakti will be appointed to PMO, ZERO action to-date!

The marketing is brilliant, enough to fool a gullible population who's untrained in critical thought, though when you consider the expenditure it remains to be seen if the "investors" in Modi will reap the returns they seek.

    4. Well, I guess I spoke too soon. The "investors" have received their 1st installment w/ the govt. refusing to disclose names of #blackmoney holders.

This, fellow brothers & sisters, is TRUE democracy at work. Protecting the rights of the minority 0.01% foreign account tax evaders at the expense of hopes & development dreams of the 99.99% Indians. A proud day for all bhakts!

  3. And Modi's next stop should be TN, we TN people can only envy people of Guj, MP, Goa and now Maharastra. TN BJP is like a headless chicken, I was hoping a turn around after May 16 and after Amit Shah's elevation as BJP chief. It is high time for Modi and Shah to inject new blood in TN BJP and nurture a good young leader. We are sick of fit for nothing old guards of TN BJP.

There are news surfacing yet again that BJP is persuading RajiniKanth to join the party, not sure how credible the news is. Once I was a hardcore fan of him and he turned out to be a spineless guy and a good business man.

Whenever his new film is due, stories like he joining politics would surface just as a marketing strategy, let's see how this turn out to be this time.

    1. If only people in TN understood Hindi, the state would have been Modi-fied too, and same with Kerala.

      Delete
    2. People of Kerala understand Hindi quite well. The issue is that BJP's state leadership is so horrible that all they do is quarrel and sell their votes for money. Kerala has a good RSS network which the BJP leadership does not utilize. You can clearly see this as BJP has been winning quite a few local body elections. There are a lot of people who do not vote for BJP because they feel it would end up helping either Cong or CPM and vote for the party that they hate lesser. Thats why it was extremely important for O Rajagopal to win against Shashi Tharoor in the last LS elections. The only people who did not believe (before the elections) that Rajagopal did not have a chance to win were the state and district level leadership of BJP! They were the ones who were shocked by the votes that BJP polled which clearly shows how disconnected they are from the people.

  10. LOC firing reminds me of the kind of bombing that happened in Bihar before Modi's address and how even some Cadres were worried about Modi's safety. The idea as you suggested in your previous article was not to hurt Modi but to create scare in the General public and show them that Modi is a coward.
Part 2: just before state elections Pakistan starts firing at LOC so that Modi can leave the campaign and head to Delhi. Elements in India have strong connections with Pakistan, pointers which you have already given. Idea is the same take focus off the campaign and prove the states that Modi is a coward. But Modi in both cases had another game plan,
I couldn't figure why that Bravado! But the missing puzzle was your today's article. Because he is a finisher. In both cases he knew that how important it is for him to not worry about health and safety and campaign but to close the deal in MGMT terms. Also your article kind of gave me that Eureka moment about Modi, it also proves his confidence and conviction of Congress Mukt Bharat. That's the goal he has set to achieve as you said Ravi and that's Bad news for Congress cause he will finish them.

It is indeed a pity that folks can witness a historic event, like we are seeing now, and yet only see the filth, that is their own creation.

This post of yours is just as touching as another one of yours. In that you had mentioned, people know that Modi has lived a hard life and if he had to cook for his friends, you know he can do it. While all the Pappus of the world have no such skills.

The reason Modi is a crowd puller is, because he makes the crowd feel connected and part of the dream that we all have for this country. His honest intention is communicated not through empty words, his conviction comes through. People who listen with an open mind get it. Really unfortunate ones are those who have hate-filled hearts and cannot participate in this joy.

Thanks for this post...I am sharing it as widely as I can.

Modi has allowed the BJP to dream of coming to power in states where it was unheard of before - e.g. Haryana, J&K, West Bengal! Even Maharashtra, where it was relegated to playing second fiddle to Sena, the Modi-Amit Shah duo worked their magic to make it a solo game!

These election results, if they pan out the way the exit polls indicate, will put to rest all the doubts that even some Modi-supporters had, that the honeymoon period was waning, as no big-bang announcements were being made.

More power to Modi and to you!

Every party gets election funds for corporates, NRI's etc...I think BJP has got more this time as everyone were almost sure on Modi becoming PM.
Media crooks and our "Secular" brothers are the reasons why I started loving Modi and so many of my friends. Constant negative propaganda against a man for 12 years in MSM was good enough for people to take notice of Modi. And every stone thrown at him, he used it as a stepping stone. Anyway, point is very clear the way crores are spent on Modi Marketing [LS ~5000 Crores Mah/Hryn 3000 Crores dont ask me how? we are not blind] If industrialist / Rich person will not donate huge amount for FREE! They will expect the return for the same! How Modi will return? no need to explain! Do you have any answer for this?

      @Prem Thanks dude!

@Sahitya Gupta Its strange to know why Honest / Good ppl need to face criticism all the time when they are not filling bank balance or getting any benefit or misusing tax payers money! In fact, they are struggling for betterment of others life! Read more about AK's life struggle! No one stand in front of him! I dont know AAP finished or will stay in future but I do know that there was someone who was honest and wanted honest / corruption free system! Very sadly I wanted to say this >> People will get the system as they are!! Does people want Honest/corruption free system? think over!

Since you AAPTards are experts in unmasking how politicians favour Industrialsts, how one can be Ambani/Adani agent blah blah blah... please feel free to show the world how Modi benefits them :)...but make sure to have proper evidence like Subramanya swamy do or else ask your leaders to obey for bail bond :D

Brinden Krazywal, his honesty and patriotism?!!!
Ask Ford foundation and the ISI!
'Moronary' never had a unit of measurement till 'AAPtard' was discovered to be the one!

  47. Excellent article Ravinar. Media people have failed to understand what has hit them. They can not understand Modi has single-handedly(well almost) won the Lok Sabha elections and became the PM. They have failed to gauge the mental and physical strength of Modi. Long live Modi and you.

  48. Dear Ravinar, with due respect to your opinion about our respected Prime Minister- Sh.Narendra Modi ,I'd like to point out that your usage of the "Situational Leadership" model is a little misplaced. As the name suggests, this model talks about the different Leadership styles in a "particular" situation and not a Generic Leadership style of a person. You are certainly entitled to your opinions, but my only submission is that the sanctity of established Management models need to be respected.I trust you'd take this feedback in the right spirit.

  50. Couple of years ago, I had told my friends that Modi is the re-incarnation of Swami Vivekananda. At that time, he was not even considered as PM nominee. People do not want to believe spiritual reasons these days, mainly in fear of being labelled as "communal/regressive" Hindu. It is another matter that even science is today willing to investigate the phenomena of re-birth and one day we may discover a proper scientific explanation.

But whether we discover a scientific theory or not, there is no doubt that a day will come when Modi will find his place amongst the most beloved sons and enlightened great-souls of India - place where his Guru is an indelible member. That will itself be a re-incarnation, if not in scientific sense but in essence.

As we have a breed of pseudo seculars developing in India, we also have a breed of pseudo intellectuals.

  51. Dear Raviji, nice article. India wants change, indian youths' priorities are different, there is a generation change taking place and those who do not synchronise themselves to these will be left behind and luckily we have someone as a head of our government who also thinks likewise. Let us therefore build a strong and glorious nation.

  55. A BJP govt. in Bengal is absolutely imperative. Otherwise Begum Mumtaz Banu will not hesitate to sell Bengali Hindus like cattle in return for Bangladeshi illegal migrants vote. Bengal will be over-run by Jamat mass-murderers if Mumtaz Banu continues another term in office. 2016 will be a survival or perish juncture for Bengali Hindus.

  62. A very well written article. Very crisp in its delivery. Without the frills, For a person like me who is neither fond of nor having an understanding of politics, gets a clear picture of what the current Prime minister of the republic of India stands for. Now, we are on the path of progress. Thamks to Modiji, India now has a strong leadership that the whole world looks up to with awe and respect. for the first time in so many years of independence, our countrymen can walk tall and proud. He has given us an identity and direction that we were so far lacking. This was the missing piece of the jigsaw, which now completes the picture....now the whole world will see what was only so far a thing that people read about but never experienced. India is a land of heroes, and the pioneer has arrived....he will take us far, and we can only be grateful that he has stuck on despite so many adversities in his path, because he is driven by his mission,,,,We have now found the one who will guide us well and put us firmly on the map....a no nonsense person...who will take India on the path that it should have tread since independence......a path on which we should have travelled and reached some place......'der aaye, durust aaye" .......now every Indian can experience that pride which had got suppressed somewhere in so many years of servile mentality.......time to rise and look at the sun and bask in the sunlight........Thank you so much for this!

  64. "Modi has left all the “caste & religion” discourse of the past far behind. He has forced every politician to talk about development, growth, cleanliness, employment."

Interesting point you made there, tell me how the 'love jihad' came into BJP's agenda? How was their parliamentary MP Yogi Nath allowed to make statements like 'we will convert 100 muslims if they convert one hindu'?
Yes your statement seems completely valid considering the modi bhakt shroud you're wearing.
(Please note that i'm not a congress supporter either if I have disagreed with your points)

    1. Sirji, You need to do some research about love jihad, it was coined in Kerala by the high court. so please do some research, MSM also flucked you into believe what they are saying is true.
About Yogi Adithyanath, his speech in Parliament was it put to trash? was there any one asking for sensorship of the speech? No for all right?
Next you need to counter with points and point by point if not, your argument goes nowhere. I have seen the whole speech and was thinking why MSM just for sake of objecting to be pseudo secularists did not counter the arguments.
That is where MSM is found wanting.

  66. Our Media logic is absolute Fun..
A party, whose all time high in Maharashtra being 65 seats, scoring 123 seats alone today is not spectacular bcoz we yesterday made a mindless speculation that they may score 150!!
And the party which was in power till today crumbling down to 3rd position with just 41 seats is not decimation coz our foolish survey predicted them even lesser seats.. Curious ways of twisting perceptions.
#ravinar.. Crooks is just an understatement for them😃

    you get

    "DOSHI NAAGIN"

    Is this just a coincidence...!!!

    1. So far neither in India nor elsewhere media’s monopolistic so called bigwigs’ have been undressed in public the way Ravinar has done. In way he is pioneer in this sort of work. For the first time their ‘hamam’ has been brought into public display. Earlier people like us were exasperated with biased reporting from lackey media. We knew what is being fed day in day out by this gang is nothing but lie and propaganda. At the most best what we could do was just to discuss in close doors. But now Ravinar not only shown the true worth of this two-penny media morons but provided platform to others in exposing slaves and serf among the media.

  69. Strategy without tactics is sectarianism and tactics without strategy is opportunism both are dangerous for democracy but out pm is treading cautiously in this orientation. Moreover, even Sonia knew once Modi occupies the chair he would decimate scamgress and make the common to forget Nehru clan without any direct action and in the backdrop of this single fact, she persecuted him barring all the opponents with all her mite. Yet he emerged impeccably to the people's expectation and hence, he is flying colorfully in all his endeavours

  70. NaMO and BJP invoked the name of Shivaji Maharaj to win elections in Maha. Shivaji called on his people to fight, fight and fight against injustice and tyranny. Why NaMo has never asked trading community people to join armed forces and be ready to shed blood for the country? How does this square with the constant India, India chant? Why should trading community people be exempted from serving in armed forces? NaMo fans need to answer that.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Keeping aside all arguments sir, do you know the number of people applying to armed forces? It is all too well to digress by putting forth nehruvian ideas of castes, if people were forced to join armed forces where would poor genuine applicants go? Do you really think there is an exemption to an community! On flip side is it mandatory for some to join? This is not affluent USA where ppl have to be conscripted , we are a poor nation where landing a government job is a mission of many
