Modi - The Real Game-Changer

In a few weeks it will be the tenth anniversary of the Godhra incident. Ten years! And as with the past ten years the media will be there with the usual suspects on February 27 with special programmes to target Narendra Modi in a fresh effort. In the past decade the media, aided by Congress, rogue cops, NGOs formed overnight and hate engineers have tried their very best to send Narendra Modi to jail. So it was with great disappointment that the media greeted the judgement of Gujarat High Court rejecting a petition seeking Modi’s appearance before the Nanavati Commission probing the riots. In the same period Modi has gone from strength to strength with the development agenda in Gujarat. Most people who targeted Narendra Modi have painted themselves with indelible taint of wrong doings. Teesta Setalvad with fake affidavits, Barkha Dutt with Radia tapes, Rajdeep Sardesai with Cash4Votes, Sanjiv Bhatt with false affidavits and a lot more. Other actors like Shabnam Hashmi, Mallika Sarabhai, Javed Akhtar have fallen by the wayside.

To put the record straight the Gujarat HC has merely observed that the Nanavati Commission has the discretion to call Modi to testify if they considered it necessary and the court need not direct the commission. Naturally, the crusaders for justice at NDTV and CNN-IBN had to sell this bad news. So we first had Sandeep Phukan of NDTV explaining how there were so many adverse judgements against Modi which Congress had tried to use to politically malign him. Is that so? Now, how many “adverse” judgements were passed against Modi? The SC had dismissed the one petition seeking Modi’s prosecution by referring it back to the lower courts last September. Sanjiv Bhatt’s affidavits have been more or less thrown into the dustbin by the courts. The Lokayukta judgement by the Gujarat HC is also been quoted as a “setback for Modi”. The latest petition to summon him at the Nanavati Commission has been rejected. So the lies that media spreads about adverse judgements on Modi is another myth that has been propagated over the years. Truth is, there isn’t a single FIR or a single case against Modi to even have any grounds for adverse judgements. The “Setback for Modi”, “Blow to Modi” are headlines concocted by the media to imply that each time Modi is just another step away from prison.

Well, if NDTV is on the prowl its twin sister CNN-IBN isn’t too far behind. On this day their reporter, Meghdoot Sharan, went far enough to state that the riot victims have lost faith in the Nanavati Commission after the HC judgement. Well, as always, it’s not justice unless it is the justice the media wants. What about HeadlinesToday? A few days ago HT carried the results of a survey which indicated people preferred Narendra Modi as PM over all others. Now, in a Sadbhavna meet at Anand in Gujarat Modi mentions this survey in his speech and Rahul Kanwal quickly terms it as Modi’s PM ambitions. Not that there is anything wrong with such an ambition but a reference to their own survey had Rahul Kanwal spreading lies that Modi was “baring his PM ambitions”. Having created the lie, Kanwal then goes on to discuss this spurious topic with panelists from BJP and BJD trying to sow seeds of disharmony, political speculation and another attempt at tarring Modi.

As if the media’s comedy wasn’t enough the Congress first releases an ad about Gujarat which also lists Modi’s achievements and his skill and ability as an organiser. Then Delhi CM, Sheila Dikshit, further confounds her party and the media by praising Modi before retracting the praise. Never mind all that. Its election year in Gujarat and one can expect the Congress, aided by a servantile media, will come up with more fake stories and allegations. Both have been unable to digest the series of electoral losses in Gujarat. The CBI has been thrown into Gujarat with cases against Amit Shah, former Home Minister, and every attempt has been made to concoct false affidavits through rogue cops and NGOs against Modi. What if the BJP were actually defeated in 2002 or 2007 in Gujarat? One just has to imagine how many fake cases would have been filed in the state to destroy Modi. The entire state machinery would have been used to politically destroy what has not possible to do legally. It is in this context that the emergence of Modi as a serious contender for the PM job is disturbing for the media. Ten years of maligning him has only made him emerge stronger and be recognised for the development agenda in Gujarat.

There isn’t a single state in India where CM candidates and political parties have been able to win elections without quotas and freebies. It is only Modi who has dumped the out-dated ideas of such election-winning calculations based on caste, community, subsidies and freebies. Of all his achievements as CM, this is quite easily the most outstanding one. The media war against him has made him raise the development agenda even higher resulting in greater achievements by the state of Gujarat. Naturally, many across the country have found this form of governance and delivery far more attractive than mindless appeasement policies and promises. It is only after 60 years of independence that all political parties are talking of development and governance as the key issue. This is where Modi has been a game changer. The contrast becomes even sharper when measured against a corrupt Congress govt at the centre and a hopelessly failed PM.

The lessons that the media and Congress refuse to learn is that the more they abuse Modi the more his popularity rises with people in Gujarat and across the country. They’ve called him a “mass murderer”, “maut ka saudagar” and even a “common criminal”! After screwing up badly by showering praise on Modi the Congress is desperately seeking damage control. The foul-mouthed Manish Tiwari hasn’t learned any lessons from the past and here’s what he came up with comparing Modi to the Nazis (on NDTV’s show with Nidhi Razdan):

"The Nazis also built autobahns (German expressways) but what defined the Nazi regime wasn't those autobahns. It was Auschwitz (concentration camp). It was Treblinka (extermination camp). It was ghettos (where jews were forced to live)…..Notwithstanding the complete myth of a vibrant Gujarat, ultimately in the final analysis what is going to define the BJP government in Gujarat is the inaction and the culpability in the Gujarat carnage. I am not drawing any parallels but yes there are certain lessons, which history teaches us."

That's a well-rehearsed statement. No, not  even great gutter-mouths come up with 'treblinkas' off the cuff. All these childish attempts at colouring reality don't sell anymore. The best quote comes from none other than Capt.Amarinder Singh, the Congress candidate for CM in Punjab who has reportedly promised  Gujarat-like progress if his party comes to power”.

On January 31 the SC indicted the PMO for failure to respond to Subramanian Swamy’s letter to prosecute A. Raja in the 2G scam for over a year. The Congress gleefully claimed it was a vindication of the PM. Imagine, the board of directors is being indicted but the Chairman claims he’s vindicated. If that is the yardstick for leadership then clearly Modi is by far the most courageous CM to have ever held such an office. In times like these the nation desires strong leadership and the only person who seems to offer that appears to be Narendra Modi. And much as they holler and scream, the media celebs who were out to nail him have failed. Modi has emerged as the real game-changer in the political arena and people are not buying the lies of Barkha Dutt, Arnab Goswami, Rajdeep Sardesai, Nidhi Razdan or Sagarika Ghose anymore.

  1. one of the most troubling aspects of Indian politics is the complete ineffectiveness of seasoned politicians like Mamta, Mulayam and Mayawati when it comes to actual governance. They are all abject failures. This is where the real governance of Modi is to be appreciated.
There must be hard work at the bottom of this and the results are there for all to see.
In 65 years, the rotten despicable kkangress hasn't produced even one good CM because of its' crony-and-kowtow culture. Therein lies the difference.
Modi's open engagement on border issues with China was astounding, to say the least. Nobody comes even close.

  2. I was watching Times Now yesterday and saw this news on Newshour. Such a great premise by educated reporter. "Relief for Modi but Blow for Gujrat Riot Victims" (exact wordings may have been a bit different)

Basically pronouncing Modi guilty. Drawing inference that he is guilty but managed to escape due to some technicality. What rubbish!!!

On the panel discusion the refreshing presence was that of Smriti Irani (Tulsi Virani fame) from BJP. She really took Sankarshan of Telegraph apart. Arnab did the usual, played joker and spoilsport interjecting at worst possible moments in the debate.

BJP should use Smriti more for TV debates. She has good command over language (both Hindi & English) and knows how to make incisive cuts. She knows how to prick the other side's balloon.

    1. Yes, I fully agree . She was marvelous and very calm and composed. Arnab has become out and out agent for the CONgi's . As usual, he was intervening as much as possible when the BJP persons were speaking... and that obnoxious guy Sankarshan of Telegraph , what to say about him ? These CON cronies are aplenty and they have no shame whatsoever...

  3. Can anybody here explain if modi is so popular why he is not campaigning in the UP elections? He did not go to punjab either. Moreover, Gujarat supporting modi is a myth because in the recently concluded local body elections, BJP lost heavily.

  5. The post does correctly point out how media cooks up stories but that doesnt mean one should close their eyes to the reality. The reality is Modi is not a pan-india leader. In Bihar, BJP cadres were not enthused about his campaign and now it is very clear that he is sulking due to induction of joshi. Not one leader from BJP has been able to reply why he is not campaigning in UP and neither do people who support him have any answer. If he wishes to claim the top job, he has to show his popularity in different states.

I amt not surprised at the "logic" you are employing to prove that NaMo is not popular. Well, the same logic is used by helpless anti-NaMo cowards and hypocrites..

Here it is.. The Clown Prince has been extensively touring and campaigning in UP now for more than a year, but still there is no way CONgress is going to be No1 in the state. He campaigned in Bhihar and congress lost its face. He campaigned in many other states and still no results. Based on this, you and the CONgress should stop projecting him as heir to dynasty as he has failed miserably to garner mass support, outside typdical congress ass licking cronies.

Comming to question of NaMo, his popularity does not lie in his campaigns.. his popularity lies in his no nonsense governance and his vision, which every educated, well informed natioanlist is aware of and that is why he has such a fan fallowing acrss the country.. On Internet, he is THE MAN for nationalist crowd...

you can say, the continuous hardwork and governance given by NaMo in Gujrat is in itself the best campaign that has proved record unlike divisive/communal promises of CONgress manifesto...

How difficult is it to Understand a man of principles. He was not happy with the way things were going on in UP and Bihar BJP so he chose to stand away. He could not in principle agree with what was going on with BJP in these states.
About the Pan-India thing..Every freaking politician around the country swears by Modi's style of governance even the tainted Commies.

  7. @Ravinar: But, it seems highly unlikely that Modi would make it as PM candidate in next elections. Lots of infighting and politics within BJP and RSS. Hope that the nation would emerge victorious.

Now onwards the moment some one opens their mouth on Modiand starts bashing ,the Modi lovers retort it with Rajeev Gandhi Sikh massacre and demonize hin.

  12. Dear Loneranger,

Its silly how you say that Mr Modi is not popular across India. Some of the reasons for Mr Modi not campaigning for UP BJP are as mentioned below :
    1) He has still not been declared as next PM candidate by BJP. Then Why should he waste his talent for the same leaders who are trying to belittle him in BJP when he could use his energy for empowerment of Gujarat ?
    2) Mr Modi is a PM material & he has effectively proved himself for that job in past 10 years of his rule in Gujarat. He need not show any haste to prove himself any further.
    3) Although he has many detractors inside & outside BJP, he is the most accepted face among the actual ground level BJP cadres all over India,
    4) His detractors have lost all their moral & legal credibility in past 10 years & hence keep on maligning him instead of accepting their defeat with a Big heart. SHAME SHAME SHAME

Perhaps you should say shame shame to sushma and jaitely who are dreaming of becoming PM. Infact, the inside news is RSS wants gadkari to become PM if BJP wins. So there you go. Why dont you tweet to sushma and make her understand how much gujarat or rather the whole of india according to you wants Modi. Probably she will relent and give up her claim.

Modi belongs to a party and as a loyal party soldier he cant be whimisal and say I wont campaign because I dont like somebody's face. He has to abide by the party's guidelines. If he doesnt like the party's guidelines then he should quit and form his own party. I am sure as you say he has tremendous amount of support.

    1. What's your problem lone ranger ?

      1) There may be 10 aspirants for PM's position in BJP. What's wrong in that ?

      2) Whether Mr Modi campaigns in UP or not is totally an internal matter of BJP.

      3) The topic of discussion is whether if Mr Modi is a Game changer & hope you stick to it on the merit of his governance & not on internal politics of BJP.

      4) Do you really understand these simple logics or just want to waste others time by putting meaningless charges?

    1. There can be 1000 aspirants and nothing wrong in it. Only thing wrong is the infighting in the so called disciplined party. Every party has party indiscipline but BJP says they are different so my question is what is different?

    2. It is not an internal matter since a PM aspirant cant be seen to act in such a petty manner. It is a personal matter of him disliking sanjay johsi, it should not affect the party. A person who it is said has large number of followers ( I dont buy it though) should have a large heart and not indulge in kiddish behaviour.

    3. The topic is governance and let me inform you that any other CM in his place would have done the same things in the last 10 years. There has been nothing extra ordinary. If he was a game changer, why did BJP lose in the local elections recently?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Dear Loneranger,

There could be different opinions about topics like Whether Mr Modi is a game changer or whether he has pan India followers or why did BJP lose in some Gandhinagar Munciple elections last year etc. But what surprises me is your Modi obsession & your audacity to malign him in spite of the Supreme court finding him not guilty. Would you dare to say that the people of Gujarat have been repeatedly voting him to power with 2/3rd majority without him having any extra-ordinary or charismatic leadership ???? Grow Up. I would no longer reply to your comments because your comments seem to have a Hidden agenda similar to CNN-IBN & NDTV etc. Take Care Dude & Jai Hind.
