Self Destruction

Many humans have demons in their head; real or imaginary. They fight these demons in different ways. Some self-flagellate to punish themselves for some sins, some destroy their relationships or opportunities. There is this true story about a man who had everything a person could ever have. He was a good fighter, had good income, family and fame but his demons turned him in to a monster. Every emotion known to humankind was in abundance in him; love, anger, humour, hate, rage, jealousy, greed, intrigue, revenge, trust, suspicion, self-interest and self-loathing. You name it he had it. You may have heard of “Raging Bull” in reference to stock markets but the original story is of a boxer named Jake La Motta. Jake’s story is not very different from Shakespeare’s Othello. The only difference is that Jake delivered justice to himself inside the ring. He dealt punishment to his wife for his jealousy and suspicions, or to his brother, or to the mafia or he punished himself for his sins.

The movie “Raging Bull” is the story of Jake (Robert De Niro), one of the most extremely self-destructive characters. It is not about boxing and the movie has just about 10 minutes of boxing scenes. But those 10 minutes of boxing are some of the most vicious, graphic and bloodiest scenes ever put on film. And the scenes are not from the spectator’s seat, it is from right inside the ring. Let’s watch a bit (4.30 mins):

During his career and after retirement Jake had lost all his relationships. He had become a pitiful tub of lard and a pathetic stand-up comedian. Yet, by the time the movie ends, one feels a strange sense of sympathy for this vicious character. Sympathy for a loser! Every emotion and intrigue that Jake embodied can also be found in organisations with lots of people in them. In regular business organisations, NGOs, media houses, religious organisations and, most of all, in political parties. Let’s get back home.

The BJP is not exactly Jake La Motta but the party is suffering the consequences of all the negative human emotions of Jake that I listed earlier. Jealousy, intrigue, cunning and much more. At a time when the world’s most corrupt party among democracies should be thrown out the BJP is hell-bent on scoring self-goals. Not a single major event or decision in the party passes without controversy and mud-slinging. All of it cannot be passed under the garb of “we are a democratic” party. This is self-deception in implying democratic parties can never arrive at decisions in a cohesive manner defeats its purpose. To add to this, they have made some atrocious attempts to enrol the scumbags of India like Pramod Muthalik and Sabir Ali. Both had to be thrown out after their cadres and supporters revolted. Neither of these two scumbags would have brought any positive value to the party.

The tragedy is that on a day a video of a guy called Imran Masood (Congress) issuing threats to Modi surfaced the media was compelled to focus more on the comic self-goal of enrolling a character like Sabir Ali. I have to say this and say this bluntly: there are certain very senior leaders in the party who are no different from the pathetic stand-up comic that Jake had become. They are often referred to as “tall leaders” of the party. They may be tall but their height simply cannot be allowed to cloud a common goal of victory. Tall leaders need to demonstrate greatness and not engineer petty squabbles. Imagine, the Congress has been reduced to rubble with only Rahul Gandhi campaigning for them. And all this young child can talk about as solution to the country’s problems is “Love”. What kind of juvenile jerk talks of love and affection to the poor, backward, Tribals and Adivasis who have been deceived for ages by the Congress? In their arrogance the BJP appears to have taken victory for granted because the Congress appears to be losing.

Three months ago four of the current BJP CMs delivered a stinging blow to the Congress in the state elections. It wasn’t very different from the battering Jake delivers to Janiro. He delivers a bloody and brutal knock out. It is the conduct of some of the party’s members that makes people wish there were other options too. Fortunately for them, another juvenile jerk has made a thorough fool of himself with his street antics. We are now into the final phase when elections will commence. Any more bumps are bound to cause severe damage. A huge majority of the nation has backed Narendra Modi for PMship. It is time these sideshow actors in the party openly throw their full weight behind him and avoid any serious accident.

Jake La Motta had lost his title once over his personal demons. The BJP lost power in 2004 out of faulty appeasement policies of ABV and complacency. When he gets a second shot at the title Jake’s demons had grown so huge that he feels the only way to redeem himself is to take a severe pounding and then prove he wasn’t knocked out. There is a lot BJP can learn from him. Not being knocked out is not victory. The party is only one step away from self-destruction should there be another accident. There are BJP leaders who keep making odd statements which seem to originate from a Jake-size ego. There are regulars but even people like Shivraj Chauhan stated yesterday that he wants Modi as PM but Modi can’t work alone. Is there any intelligence in that statement? Why make such dumb statements in the first place?

If the BJP screws up, they will end up like pathetic stand-up comics and would have let down a whole nation waiting in hopes of a change. They should prepare for a 272-knock-out of the CongressPlus and not attempt a 160-points victory. One more major accident is sure to cause serious self-destruction.

  1. Dear Ravinar,
The fact that you are a movie buff helps in explaining different perspectives beautifully. BJP scoring 272 is out of the question. This article needs to be read by SS, AJ, RS, LKA. Amongst all these comedians in different parties (regardless of who wins the elections) there is only one man who will continue to stand tall and gracefully- NaMo.

  2. Some people on Social Media and MSM are complaining that BJP is becoming authoritarian and one Man Party and seniors are sidelined. I think there is clinical cleansing of BJP by nationalist Narendra Modi, he is forcing those who were trying to gain some pseudo secular credentials by praising fundamentalist and power hungry Jinnah.

Sidelined LK Advani praises Jinnah (http://www.telegraphindia.com/1050605/asp/nation/story_4828954.asp)

    1. The problem with the oldies, is they want to die sitting in parliament. They have not added or brought new leaders. Khangress earlier under Indira Gandhi threw out all those who had leadership skills, today, they are suffering from lack of leaders who can pull crowds. Sushma Swaraj or Advani are aging leaders, should give way to new and young persons so that they get training for next 5 years and standup on their own feet later.

  3. I agree with you Ravi, these tall-leaders are being sidelined and they are sidelined for good as I my understanding is.

  4. I remember, during Nitin Gadakari's tenure some one was inducted in BJP and there was huge uproar in Media. BJP leaders should learn by this time that your small mistakes will also be exaggerated out of proportion by vested interest in Media. Secondly, Politicians should learn to say NO. If Muthalik and Sabir Ali wanted to join BJP, BJP leadership should have said plain big NO. Or should have kept them waiting for eternal time. I completely agree that this guy called Sabir Ali was daily spewing venom on NaMo and suddenly turned the coat and entered in BJP just because he was upset with JD(U). He cannot jell with BJP/RSS. Well! if it is a well thought out strategy to make him धोबी का कुत्ता, न घर का न घाट का then it is different thing. But it didn't play in that way. Congress is much smarter in fooling such turncoats like Narayan Rane in Maharashtra.

    1. Don't know how many of the commentators here are from Bihar, I am not either, but last night talked to a friend who is native of Bihar. This guy still has sympathy for AAP so I feel his comments from a BJP perspective are unbiased.
He said "BJP could have really dented into muslim votes with help from Sabir Ali. That guy can bring more muslim votes to BJP then the combined efforts of all Muslim leaders of BJP (Naqvi, Shahnawaj et al)"
This guy has not one single corruption charges against him, he was a Modi hater who has turned Modi fan(May be for his own reasons but why should BJP care, they didn't offer him a seat or any out of ordinary favors). He says he was mislead about Modi and Gujrat and reality of Gujarat is different. Sabir Ali joining BJP dents the theory of MSM about muslims fearful of Modi. Inducting him in BJP was a good move but then others thought that his presence reduces their importance in BJP.
In short, we all are supporters of same person but from our vantage point we might not be seeing things in right perspective.

  7. Excellent and Timely Warning to BJP. If Modi is serious about WINning then he should supply extra strong adhesive tapes to zip up the mouth of these job leaders in his party. Most of these so called "tall leaders" can't even win a municipal poll of their own if they stand on their merit or even past deeds. If BJP fails in its mission 272+ in this election, it will be no less traitors than Congress and they will be rightly and deservedly confied to the dustbins of history.

Once again the move analogy was too good. Hope the dumbells in BJP get it.

I had tweeted a reply to one of your tweets saying BJP had lost about 25 - 30 seats in the past 2 weeks and many BJP supporters jumped on me for that comment but then i said that before this Shabir Ali episode and everyday BJP is reaffirming the sentiments expressed in the tweet. Why doesn't the party and its president make a public announcement that 'Doors are closed for admission till 18th May'. It would serve them well.

There is show on Modi from Madhukishwar being shown on NewsX (Decoding Modi) and IndiaNews (Modi Ek Khoj). BJP leaders should try learn from this series and promote the points from that in front of public and MSM to silence by focusing on the achievements in last 12+ years.

  19. Haven't other parties also welcomed crooks into their fold? Democracy is all about numbers - if you don't have numbers - howsoever Nationalist or patriotic you are you cannot sit on the seat of real power that can help bring a change- If ABV committed some mistakes by trying to become secular - I hope todays BJP does not commit mistakes that may reduce the numbers and also the supporters need to look at the bigger picture instead of behaving like angels of truth and I can safely bet none of them are- even if one has bought a train seat by bribing the TC - he/she are corrupt and untruthful - so please stop preaching - become more realistic- and secondly why air ones feelings into the media which is already anti-what does this say of the leaders who do that? Are they being provoked sufficiently or being prodded/induced to deliberately hurt the party or Modi to be precise? MSM is crooked as we know so avoid and be away-from the suspect journos- why give them a chance to broadcast a magnified version? Have we seen how congress has defended the most despicable act? Learn from Congress to be loyal- even if we hate them!

  32. I too opposed both Muthalik and Sabir Ali, but I am not really sure how to react to all this really.
These three things seems not so exclusively inter-linked I guess, although they do come together occasionally:
    1. The forever sulking D4.
    2. Rajnath Singh's dream of sneaking into 7 race-course road.
    3. Rogues joining BJP.

I would like to give benefit of doubt regarding third point. No matter how much we dislike, but win-ability is one of the major factor. Although there are lows of Muthalik and Sabir Ali joining the party; but we also have high of people like MJ, Satpal Maharaj, Udit Raj etc joining them.
Thus I wouldn't say for sure that these (Muthalik and Sabir Ali) were particularly done to sabotage Modi's march. Good that they revert those bad decisions quickly.

  34. Thank you, Mr. Ravinar for at least acknowledging that something is going wrong in BJP. We, the supporters and voters are deeply anguished at it.
The Delhi Establishment is burning mid night oil to stop Modi by hook or by crook. And there is no shortage of crooks either inside or outside BJP.
In the comments made on earlier of your articles, I had stated that distribution of tickets to wrong people at wrong places can affect its Mission 272+. What the people like Kiran kher got to do with Chandigarh?, What are credentials of Poonam Mahajan against Priya Dutt in Mumbai?, and so many such gaffes are just unexplainable.
Least said is better about the oldies club of JS, LKA, MMJ, Lalji Tandon, Venkaiah Naidu, etc. They have well past their expiry dates. Modi should have put his foot down and should have send them to RajyaSabha.
There are leaders in BJP with the "foot in mouth" syndrome, such as Parrikar of Goa, Gadkari in Maharashtra and many others. What is the point in antagonising an old ally like Shiv Sena in Maharashtra at this crucial time when Maharashtra is only state that may help resurrect dying Congress ? What's the use of MNS which is fielding candidates against NDA and then says we want Modi as PM? Why this duplicity ? People are not fools. They are watching everything neatly and making their opinion. Even a giant like Indira Gandhi was defeated when there was no media, no literacy amongst masses.
BJP leadership is in over confidence zone and that only will bring their downfall. Remember every seat lost by BJP and won by Congress is a step towards destruction of India. It's NOW OR NEVER for BJP. Hope they get the message LOUD AND CLEAR.

  35. I belong to MP and I will comment on Shivaraj singh Chauhan only. thankfully you talked about him. I have no doubt in saying that he belongs to 160 club for BJP. no star candidates in Madhya pradesh and and wrong allotment of seates. He wants to see BJP win, but not Modi as PM. the ground reality is that BJP is going to suffer heavily in madhya pradesh. local people want to see Modi as PM but they don't want to elect their local bjp leaders who have harassed them for years. Even I don't want to vote for my local bjp leader. But what to do? I will have to vote for him so that Modi can become PM and save the country from forign funded congis and fibrals.

    1. But then narendra Modi is also head of election campaign , is he then not able to see thru all this ???

I believe that BJP genuinely believes there is a Modi wave and that is the only strategy they have . They do not even that many leaders for 450 plus constituencies where they may have put up candidates . The BJP has put all its egg in Modi basket . So at this stage just blindly vote for bjp . Do not get distracted and do not allow others also to get waylaid /frustrated . I hope every Indian keeps the larger picture of India and its welfare in mind and votes only for bjp/nda .

  37. Well written Ravinar,
This makes me remember the antics of Hindu Kings who blinded by their ego and over confidence lost of Islamic hordes who were less armed and had comparitively smaller armies. Not only Indian emperors (in and around 9-10 centuries) had bigger and better armies but also deep resources of Gold and man power.
After suffering for 300 years of Violent islamic rule under slave dynasties there is a moment in history when a leader under shershah suri called Hemu (Hema chandra) drives back the mughals under Bairam khan and Akbar and holds delhi.
The problem then begins, he is so enamoured with himself and driven by his perceived power that he ignores the enemy at the afghan border and hurries to anoint him as Indian emperor.
Few weeks later, he personally enters the war (although not needed) and his casual approach leads to a lame soldier of the mughals hitting an arrow to his eye. He falls unconcious and the great war is lost, following yet more 250 years of slavery.
This case seems to be the same, the smaller generals think (like shiv raj chauhan) that they are more eligible than the actual general and playing for defeat.

    1. Yes, it was very unwise of Hemu to lead the war directly as a commander. He was a great warrior himself and probably could not reconcile to the fact that at the time of Panipat-2, he was no longer a general, but a king. When he was injured in the battle, his army became directionless at the loss of their top-most leader. Ultimately, what could have been a fairly easy victory (and with it, the end of Mughal era) ended in a rout of Hemu's army and with it, any hope of regaining the past glory of Hindus for the next 150 years (the rise of Marathas).

Just goes to show how too much overconfidence and lack of back-up plans can convert easy victory into abject defeat and change the course of history of this vast nation.

  38. To add to my previous point, almost all the great empires have sent their best soldiers and army, to other countries be it for knowledge or to conquer new kingdoms. India is a sole exception, where kings did not think beyond their borders. With the exception of perhaps cholas or perhaps legendary vikramaditya, there were few kings who even thought beyond their kingdom or worse their bedrooms.

Centre right website provides useful info about how few leaders and hell bent on destroying the party with in. Unknown candidates have been given tickets in UP, haryana and other places. Somewhere given tickets to placate seniors and sabotage was supposed to be hatched by anant kumar in bringing pramod mutalik which made BJP lose face even if he was rejected within hours.
As though it not enough of media pounding Yeddi as corrupt (although High court has struck down the case against him), the spokesperson of the BJP were pathetic in defending its decisions. In welcoming the support of PDP and closet islamists, BJP is again doing the mistake of appeasing sections of electorate who would in any case wont't vote for it.
Finally, TDP in AP is an invaluable ally since not only it brings the "secular" impression for NDA but also perhaps the strongest ally even more than Shiv Sena if the friendship was to help properly. In 1999 both parties combinedly swept AP by winning 35 of the 42 seats, the old guard (the forward castes) in AP and especially in Telengana (whose president is a forward caste, but politically nobody) does not want the BJP to expand in AP since the expansion will be at the cost of forward caste leadership. Hence he along with his mates is ensuring that no alliance is built with TDP.
Internal sabotage is hitting high in Bjp. we have to see what happens post 16 may.

      &
some of the worst speakers & spokespersons have been defending them for the past 10 years - 24x7 - non-stop.

to be honest : except 'Modi' - i do not have hope with anybody.

  42. I have a strong sense that Team 160 in BJP - Advani, Sushma, Shivraj, Joshi are already in contact with the Congress to see to it that even at any cost Modi should not become the PM. This confidence is showing in the Congress, now that they are calling for alignment of the secular front. They have done their ground work with the BJP. I do not see any one politician who is coming strongly in support of Modi except possibly Rajnath. Now a days even the RSS are busy issuing stupid statements. I always thought they were better grounded and sure footed.
The situation takes my mind back to pre Mughal era when the Rajput kings aligned with the invaders against neighbours....BJP is doing the same. I think that unless Modi is able to do something spectacular, the self goal may have already been scored

  43. I agree completely with all this about the 160 club and self destruction, etc. What I cant understand is this Sabir Ali guy, who was on every MSM channel for the past so many months (ever since JDU broke up from NDA), there was not a whimper of the terror links from any of the channels or any of the BJP guys as well.

The moment he joins the BJP, all of a sudden, his terror links are exposed!

So, if one remains in the JDU (which was once part of the NDA), then it is ok to have people with terror links as spokespersons, is it?

Satpal Maharaj joining BJP & MJ Akbar joining BJP - for God's sake - this is not a matter of joy - this is a matter of 'Concern' - this is what i call :-

    Infiltration in BJP.

for your kind information : Amrita Rawat - state tourism and child welfare minister in Congress govt. in Uttrakhand - is an obedient 'Wife' of mr. satpal maharaj and she has 'Vowed' to continue with the great Congress govt. and party and even 'Mr. Harish Rawat' - chief minister, uttrakhand - has reposed absolute faith in her.

and 'MJ Akbar' - well, all i can say is 'he was pet of gandhi family - he is a pet of gandhi family and will remain a pet a gandhi family.

and mind you all - Infiltration is done strictly on 'Orders'.

  45. What has happened to state units of BJP ? Are they not consulting Central leadership before getting dubious persons in ?.These SabirAli types may actually prove to be a great threat to the life of NAMO. I am reminded of a story where ihe tent ownwer allowed all sorts of animals to enter including a camel. You know what happens when the camel stands up in the tent.I sincerely hope good sense will prevail on BJP leaders .

  46. Sir, in my humble opinion there are a couple of issues with the bjp. (A) zero coordination between the state and central units and (b) grievance redressal of the party members. It simply baffles me how a state unit can decide at the induction of grey characters like muthalik and sabir ali without the consent of the central leadership. And even if a mistake was made, going public on twtr isn't the way to voice your dissent. In a way there are a few things that bjp needs to learn from the congress as well.

    ReplyDelete
  47. On muthalik , I do have a different view. Whilst bjp reneged to prevent the issue from blowing up by mainstream media. I do not believe that it is right to compare pramod muthalik and sabir Ali in the same vein. A pramod muthalik's approach may not agree with many Hindu intellectuals, his concern is very much legitimate . As such, nothing much is left of traditional Hinduism , which is one of the reasons that many so called Hindus do not vote for bjp. What we have is westernized Hinduism more Christian in its form than Indian. Joint families are going extinct, so too Indian traditional wear, English is the more spoken language , kids do not even know to read write in mother tongue. The new generation Hindu kids are irresponsible , momentary , irreverent . So what is left of hindutwa ???? And then is pramod muthalik corrupt as like Sonia Gandhi, sharad pawar , p Chidambaram ?? If he has done wrong / broken any law - he would get treated accordingly by law . But then why throw him out of bjp succumbing to biased media ??? Ashok chavan has yet got a ticket from nanded and so has pawan bansal ( from chandigarh ) . And both may win . At the end of the day one more act of capitulating by bjp to a biased media threat . The bjp does not still know how to manage media .

    1. I disagree Standards set for the Bjp to get votes are so high that one small thing here or there and people jump up and down ,say no vote to Bjp , but anti Bjp vote goes to congress and regional parties. Has the indian hindu voter ever applied the same standards to other parties, No. Bjp is struck with a vote group which is perenially complaining. This election many people want to vote NOTA

How many people in India, the naive ones , understand the risk of not having a Modi government with full majority ? India needs Modi more than Modi needs India at this moment because of sins of congress

    2. My point is why bjp allows itself to be cornered by media ??? A Sanjay jha and arvind kejriwal defend even the implausible with guiltless ease: and here bjp spokespersons score self goals. Why should one whip oneself by allowing biased media to set the agenda for oneself ??? In that sense nothing will be good enough for bjp as media will deliberately shift goalposts . Anyway it is too late in the day to change anything. Let us hope and pray that bjp gets 272 on its own. And Indians for once display some sensibility in unison. Life will go on.

  48. @Ravinar, you are brave enough to blame someone in BJP if there is a problem but if if there is anything good happened, then that is because of Namo. The real issue is Namo is in a hurry to become PM and like you everybody is chanting Namo which resulted in including scamsters & congress defectors to BJP. AK says that whoever not in AAP is not honest, it's same in BJP whoever not following Namo is against the party. Do you think Namo is not aware before including all these people, Yeddiyurappa, SriRamalu & other scamsters from Congress? I have been voting for BJP for the last 18 years but this time i will abstain because BJP has lost its values. It has become personality driven party like Congress.

  49. BJP has in its DNA to score self goals.
1.Kalyansingh publicly challanged then PM Vajpai and had to be suspended from the party.
    2.Govindacharya's "Vajpayee is Mukhauta" remark
3.Then Party President Venkaiyah Naidu's comments-PM Vajpayee is Vikash Purush and Advani is Loh Purush
4.Congress registered FIR against then MP CM Uma Bharti(UB) for flag hosting. She resigned on moral grounds. THe FIR was withdrawn, but Uma Bharti lost her Chief ministership. Pramod mahajan commented that the CM will be replaced after the election, implying UB will be reinstated as CM. CM was replaced post election, but that was Shiraj Chauhan, not UB.
5.UB dared Advani in live Press conference. She had to be expelled from BJP.
6.Most state CM and Popular leaders had issues with Delhi BJP even then.
    7.Advani's Jinah moment.
8.Jashwant singh's jinah moment. When expelled from BJP, refusal to vacate the post of chairman of NAC.
9.When BJP came to power in Gujarat for the 1st time, there were two candidates for CM - Keshubhai and Shankarsinh Vaghela(SV). Advani messed up the matter by public announcement that upper house members(SV) will not be considered for CM. This humiliation finally resulted in BJP split in Gujarat.
    10. Bhairavsinh Shekhavat's open revolt against LKA for PM candidate declaration.
11.On Ayodya verdict against MMJ, he resigned. This was obviously to put pressure on Advani, whose verdict was to be announced the next week. BJP had all along maintained that Ayodya was a Movement, hence no question of resignation.
12.On Jain diary issue, then Delhi CM Madanlal Khuran(MK) resigned on moral grounds.when cleared, he wanted back the Delhi CM post, but was denied. Spent the rest of his life against BJP. BJP lost delhi in next election, and since then.

there are many such instances where BJP has scored self goals and the Media has exploited the same.

  53. “Raj Dharm ka palan kare”- “Mujhe Biswas hai ki Narendra Bhai ohi kar rahe hai”

“Raj Dharm ka palan kare”- thousands of debate(!),millions-billions comments with maximum hatred, a human can bear, with a lie that Sri ABV asked Modi to do what a CM should, means, Modi failed to do what he should have. Anyone heard the ‘second line’ at that time on any kind of media from anyone? When you don’t want to defend someone for some reason, well,at least you people could have said that Sri ABV didn’t say what print & electronic media is showing. But no. those people have only one agenda. Stop Modi. Congress, MSM and all those tall(!) & short(!) leaders had information that this man has potential to destroy the extremely corrupt system they have created to fool people and loot.

Dear Ravinar. I think you may remember, I commented here, that Modi can fight and win any battle politically but it will be interesting to watch how he handles the enemies within. So far they have tried everything they could to stop Modiji (including ‘sudden removal’). But ‘Khatra abhi tala nahin’. Another serious attempt before the last phase of election campaign is very much possible.

  54. Dear Ravinar,

Felt very emotional reading your article & also the comments. Some one also mentioned battle between Hemu & Moghuls. I feel very saddened that he lost the war due to overconfidence & risk taking. I feel what we are witnessing in BJP was inevitable considering the D4 gang in Delhi was not going to give up so easily although they know are losing it badly. The real reason behind NAMO's high campaign for past 6 months is evidently not just to connect with the masses but to also zeroing on possible candidates who will win & support him unconditionally. He is well aware of the insiders trickery & have handled the situation rather well till now. Now just 1 month left for the polling, we are witnessing the last ditch effort of the Delhi 4 gang to somehow sabotage the rise of NAMO wave. Some additional points I want to make are :
    1) I also agree with a comment here that the MSM is trying to show that NAMO wave is waning or loosing its sheen. But these issues are of little consequence to NAMO who has already closed all his possible loopholes.
    2) Winnable candidates are given preference only because its a do or die battle for India and sentimentality or over confidence is not going to help the cause,
    3) Alliance with TDP can be useful & I hope NAMO has discussed the finalities already with NCN. The MSM is although already declared the breakdown of the alliance talks,

Lastly, I request everyone to vote for NAMO & not to crib about the actual candidate as long as he is going to support NAMO. Talk with the NDA candidate personally to cross check on this important fact.

  56. Hi Ravi,
Very well written article. Just wanted to highlight few points.
    1) Shivraj chauhan is a bullshit leader. He is not fit to be CM. His oratory is poor, is less intellectual. He may have won consecutive elections but i think that's more because of BJP and RSS. His advani sympathy and back-door politics is baffling. He should be replaced with Uma Bharti as MP CM.
    2) Some leaders in the party like Sushma Swaraj feel being the opposition leader for 5 years is a guarantee for PMship if BJP comes to power. She has hidden agenda and is more dangerous than Advani.
    3) For Rajnath Singh, i think only time will tell whether he has PM aspirations. But certainly he is not a back stabber like the advani camp.
    4) And finally i think irrespective of all the ills within BJP, i will only vote for them because they have our saviour called NAMO.

    Regards.

  57. Ravinar, Right on spot. I think some members of BJP are trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. If this happens and UPA3 comes to power, whatever work Shri.Narendra Modi did all these months will go in vain and people of India are going to curse BJP leaders for that.

  58. Yes, BJP used to put self goals and lose the advantage it has gained. But trashing Pramod Mutalik is not correct as his demonising itself is a media creation to beat BJP. He has done a lot of good work at ground level for BJP and he has to be rewarded. But BJP did not support him and made him scapegoat at that time and hence supporting him has become an anomaly. And that's how BJP make enemies from within. They are too defensive and ultimately give in and thereby dash the hopes of everyone.
