Freedom Of Speech – Geert Wilders Not Guilty!

Before you read further I would recommend you read the following posts:

On June 23 Dutch politician Geert Wilders was pronounced not guilty on accusations of hate speeches and hate crimes against Islam and muslims. He  is a politician who spoke out openly against Islamisation of his country and appeasement of muslims. He was accused of "hate speech" crimes for comparing the Koran to Mein Kampf and Islam to Nazism. Mein Kampf is banned in Netherlands and therefore Wilders demanded that the Koran be banned too. The accusations also included the documentary he made, FITNA, which includes graphic images of Islamic terror juxtaposed with verses from the Koran. It is strange that those mullahs who made, and keep making, violence-inciting speeches against non-muslims, were never put on trial but Wilders, who protested, was put on trial.

No religion should be above questioning, debate and even ridicule. Some of it may hurt the sentiments of religious people. That does not mean issuing death threats or killing people. We have seen people being killed for even questioning blasphemy laws.Wilders was even prevented by the UK government in January 2010 from screening his documentary on an invitation by members of the House of Lords. This was later overturned by the courts. Such is the length to which appeasers will go.

The Dutch MP is surely not the first one to question Islam or the verses in the Koran. In 1985 Chandmal Chopra and others filed a case in the Calcutta High Court seeking a ban on the publishing and distribution of the Koran. This is commonly known as The Calcutta Quran Petition. The reasons cited by Chopra were similar to those of Geert Wilders – that the Koran contains hate and violence-inciting verses against members of other communities or non-believers. The Calcutta petition thoroughly exposes the ‘pseudo-secular’ credentials of the Congress, the Communists and the media. The Koran doesn’t need to be banned nor should those who question any religion or religious book be prosecuted. Freedom of thought, speech and expression is more important than any religion.

British PM, David Cameron, is on record for stating ‘multiculturalism’ has failed in the UK. So is German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The reasons are all too well known. The Dutch are known to be a very liberal and tolerant people. But when intolerance and violence visits you because you question faiths it is bound to start a movement against the intolerant. Theo Van Gogh, related to the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh, was brutally murdered on the streets of Amsterdam for making a documentary on the sufferings of muslim women. Our government and media who hyper ventilate on issues of women are too scared to even talk about this subject. The greatest response to the plight of muslim women was the Shah Bano verdict reversal by a constitutional amendment by the Congress. Another clip from Religulous further demonstrates the hypocrisy. (Caution: Some images are graphic)

That is a high price to pay for freedom of thought and speech. Salman Rushdie had an international ‘fatwa’ on his head. Closer home MF Hussain had seen violent protests, threats and court cases. I condemn Hussain’s painting of India as a nude woman with names of states written on the nude body. Hussain was also selective in his pornography and his paintings were not banned in India. If he managed to annoy some Hindus it is more because his own community is incapable of taking the slightest offence or questioning of their religion. But that is as far as I will go. I am even more opposed to a media and a government that is selective in its defence of freedom of speech. In India, freedom of speech in the media and government, where religion is concerned, almost means you can offend Hinduism as much as you want but other religions are untouchable.

Sonia Gandhi’s NAC has currently proposed a draconian Communal Violence Bill. Well, anyone reading India’s long history may understand that religious violence was brought into this culture by Islam and Christianity and not by Hinduism. They were minorities then too. We cannot alter history but we can attempt to ensure it doesn’t repeat itself. In the meantime, let’s celebrate Geert Wilders’ victory. It’s a victory for all those who stand for democracy and freedom.

Evil Dead

Did India fail MF Husain?’ that was the title of the program on NDTV on June 9 evening, the day India’s biggest pervert died.  Throughout the day his friends, admirers and media personalities mourned his death, recalled their moments with him. I have sympathies for his family and friends and would not have considered doing this post if the media hadn’t taken it to another level by making it appear as if Bharat Maa had failed him. Despite the controversies and his crimes I would have thought it better to let the person have his dignity in death. But even in his death the media chooses to insult the dignity of the nation, the motherland.

Here is a tag line from the program and the video at NDTV : “My heart will always be in India...it is my beloved land," he said in an interview to NDTV in March last year. Did India let him down”? Did India let him down? Here is a tweet from Rahul Bose, the man who is the voice of conscience in many ways for the media: “Hussain passes away. we hang our heads partly in grief & partly in shame for not being able to let him spend his last days in this country”.

Alright, so this pervert loved Bharat Maa so much that he imagined and painted her in the nude. What the hell is that? Some kind of Oedipus complex? I am quite certain that all those Hindu goddesses, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Parvati and Durga are in deep mourning over this asshole. It is unlikely that any other painter would now paint them in the nude and rejoice his freedom of expression.

A previous post of mine “Shashi Tharoor: The new ‘happy-tongue’ hypocrite - Secularism means “don’t offend muslims” from March 2010 is suddenly back among popular posts. That post clearly defines and explains the approach of progressive and secular media towards freedom of speech and expression. You have the freedom to abuse the sentiments of a vast majority of Hindus in this country. Hindus respect their soil and their nation as ‘Bharat Maa’ but those who abuse the country are exercising their freedom of speech rights. Shashi Tharoor’s arguments and stand in the post I have mentioned best exemplify the stand of those in the media, the art fraternity, the Congress and similar parties and some in Bollywood. In his debate with Christopher Hitchens that I’ve referred to in this post, Hitchens chewed Tharoor’s balls off for his spurious arguments and theories. NDTV falls into the Tharoor category where defining freedom of expression is concerned. People haven’t forgotten the Barkha Dutt-Chetanya Kunte episode of ‘shoddy journalism’ after the 26/11 attacks.

In another previous post the man whines that India rejected him. Another post from February 2010 explains NDTV and Barkha Dutt’s persuasions, when she called it ‘A national shame’ when this pervert took up Qatari citizenship. So where Husain is concerned, NDTV’s stand is that India should be ashamed. Sorry, India is ashamed of Husain and India is ashamed of NDTV.

One can expect any average person to remember JFK’s famous line ‘Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country’. In the opinion of those who run NDTV it should be the other way around. So the question if India has failed Hussain insults not only Bharat Maa but all those who hold her in deep respect and love. I have already renamed them End-ItTV and as far as their journalistic credentials go, they have already wound up.

In his own words Husain exiled himself to escape over 900 cases filed against him. He was a fugitive and a coward. Even if the media wish to bestow upon him some kind of martyrdom, ordinary people think a bit differently.

When one dies his sins and debts are forgiven. With Husain, hopefully the EVIL inside him has died. One’s deepest desire in life would be to be buried or cremated in one’s motherland. Mother India is fortunate to be free from the burden of absorbing Husain in her soil and soul. The dead should be mourned, but Evil Dead is not such a bad thing either.

“India rejected me” ? : Do some math, Mr. M.F. Hussain

Dear Mr. Hussain,

Your statement “India rejected me…” is all over the place today. Newspapers, websites are full of it. I strongly believe your thoughts are seriously misplaced. Over the years India has accommodated many refugees, many invaders, many crooks so why would India reject you? You’re neither an ideology nor a threat to be rejected.

In plain simple terms it is you who has rejected India and have been a fugitive for some years now. Aren’t you aware that there are thousands of politicians, crooks, terrorists, rapists and corrupt officials who have over a trillion cases against them and they still live here happily. And, if any Indian government was serious enough to prosecute you they would have vigorously taken up extradition proceedings with countries you lived in. Did they do that ? I don’t think so.

And where did you get these numbers from? “Only 10%..are against me…” Are you really aware what 10% in India means ? That’s well over 100 million people. That is bigger than many countries on this planet. Of course, there aren’t that many people in the political and other organizations that you mention. And again you claim 90% people are with you. If that is true then what are your fears ?

I don’t know if you observe Indian media but there are people like Shobhaa De, Barkha Dutt, Sharmila Tagore and many more who have supported you in the media. NDTV even ran a program calling it “A national shame” that you are going to be a Qatar citizen.

So what are your fears ?

Are you afraid of the RSS or any right-wing group killing you? If that was to really happen you wouldn’t have lived till 95, and may you be blessed with many more years. These groups protest many issues and people but with all your wealth, fame, fortune and government support you were always secure. As a person who has achieved public prominence you should expect such criticism, protests if you create work that in anyway offends the sentiments of a segment of the public.

Are you afraid of our courts ? : Indian courts are not very speedy but among new democracies they are the best in the world and our courts cannot be bullied by politicians or any groups. And because they aren’t speedy the advantage was that they wouldn’t have decided those cases against you for another 95 years. What are you afraid of ?

The 90% people who you claim support you actually don’t give a damn about you or many such figures like you. They have a hard time earning their livelihood to be bothered about you and your friends in the media. Ask your friends in the media to conduct an honest poll and I can assure you 90% people wouldn’t even know who you are, and they don’t give a ****. So stop fooling yourself and fooling others.

You are also reported to have stated “Now Qatar is my place. Here no one controls my freedom of expression” Sure, I am convinced no one represents “freedom” more than the Islamic part of the planet.

I am a Hindu and I really don’t give a damn what you painted or what your transgressions were and I would never file a case against you.. No country in the world is so forgiving as your former motherland. You lived in the UK, a country of greater free speech than ours but even that country didn’t allow a documentary film show in their parliament called “Fitna” by Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders. (Shown only much later in the House of Lords) If you claim your works were free expressions of an artist, then “Fitna” was a non-fiction documentary made by him based on excerpts from the Koran. Please watch that and tell us if you would condone that. Fact of the matter is you could paint all those nude pictures and images of Bharatmata because most of us tolerated your crap.

I am also sure that with your wealth you would have received adequate legal advice on whether you broke any law by painting those pictures. In all probability your counselors may have advised that you have indeed broken some laws and that is probably the BIGGEST FEAR you have. I challenge you to deny this.

So stop acting like a wimp and stop blaming India or any of her people. I would also like you to make a strong public statement that your “conscience is clean” which I doubt it is. If it was, you wouldn’t be running all over. I wish you happiness in Qatar and please don’t bother India anymore.
