Freedom Of Speech – Geert Wilders Not Guilty!

Before you read further I would recommend you read the following posts:

On June 23 Dutch politician Geert Wilders was pronounced not guilty on accusations of hate speeches and hate crimes against Islam and muslims. He  is a politician who spoke out openly against Islamisation of his country and appeasement of muslims. He was accused of "hate speech" crimes for comparing the Koran to Mein Kampf and Islam to Nazism. Mein Kampf is banned in Netherlands and therefore Wilders demanded that the Koran be banned too. The accusations also included the documentary he made, FITNA, which includes graphic images of Islamic terror juxtaposed with verses from the Koran. It is strange that those mullahs who made, and keep making, violence-inciting speeches against non-muslims, were never put on trial but Wilders, who protested, was put on trial.

No religion should be above questioning, debate and even ridicule. Some of it may hurt the sentiments of religious people. That does not mean issuing death threats or killing people. We have seen people being killed for even questioning blasphemy laws.Wilders was even prevented by the UK government in January 2010 from screening his documentary on an invitation by members of the House of Lords. This was later overturned by the courts. Such is the length to which appeasers will go.

The Dutch MP is surely not the first one to question Islam or the verses in the Koran. In 1985 Chandmal Chopra and others filed a case in the Calcutta High Court seeking a ban on the publishing and distribution of the Koran. This is commonly known as The Calcutta Quran Petition. The reasons cited by Chopra were similar to those of Geert Wilders – that the Koran contains hate and violence-inciting verses against members of other communities or non-believers. The Calcutta petition thoroughly exposes the ‘pseudo-secular’ credentials of the Congress, the Communists and the media. The Koran doesn’t need to be banned nor should those who question any religion or religious book be prosecuted. Freedom of thought, speech and expression is more important than any religion.

British PM, David Cameron, is on record for stating ‘multiculturalism’ has failed in the UK. So is German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The reasons are all too well known. The Dutch are known to be a very liberal and tolerant people. But when intolerance and violence visits you because you question faiths it is bound to start a movement against the intolerant. Theo Van Gogh, related to the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh, was brutally murdered on the streets of Amsterdam for making a documentary on the sufferings of muslim women. Our government and media who hyper ventilate on issues of women are too scared to even talk about this subject. The greatest response to the plight of muslim women was the Shah Bano verdict reversal by a constitutional amendment by the Congress. Another clip from Religulous further demonstrates the hypocrisy. (Caution: Some images are graphic)

That is a high price to pay for freedom of thought and speech. Salman Rushdie had an international ‘fatwa’ on his head. Closer home MF Hussain had seen violent protests, threats and court cases. I condemn Hussain’s painting of India as a nude woman with names of states written on the nude body. Hussain was also selective in his pornography and his paintings were not banned in India. If he managed to annoy some Hindus it is more because his own community is incapable of taking the slightest offence or questioning of their religion. But that is as far as I will go. I am even more opposed to a media and a government that is selective in its defence of freedom of speech. In India, freedom of speech in the media and government, where religion is concerned, almost means you can offend Hinduism as much as you want but other religions are untouchable.

Sonia Gandhi’s NAC has currently proposed a draconian Communal Violence Bill. Well, anyone reading India’s long history may understand that religious violence was brought into this culture by Islam and Christianity and not by Hinduism. They were minorities then too. We cannot alter history but we can attempt to ensure it doesn’t repeat itself. In the meantime, let’s celebrate Geert Wilders’ victory. It’s a victory for all those who stand for democracy and freedom.

  1. Hello Ravinar!
Another great post! We should indeed celebrate Geert Wilder's victory. It is really sad that when it comes to religious tolerance, it is almost always the Hindus that are portrayed as the intolerant bad guys, despite our very own history from centuries that had imbibed other religions as they have arrived into our country.
Even worse are the media and the politicians (most of them) who are seemingly oblivious to the fact.

I do not understand, when it comes to secularism, why is it always anti-hinduism? Why should even th question of minorities exist in the context of secularism?

  2. wow Ravinar, I did not know about this case till I read your post and I am honestly surprised that such a big news goes unpublished in our media.

I can imagine how the reservation system was introduced because at one point of time, there used to be untouchables, but when did we ever mistreat other religions, or call them minorities? These are all politically motivated terms. In a secular country, there are no majorities and minorities. These two words have merely caused the division!

    My two cents,
    Raji

  3. Part I
    Verses from the Koran:
VIII/12: When thy Lord inspired the angels (saying:) I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger.
Here one can clearly see that the Quran is openly saying to the Muslims to give a torturous death to those who are non-believers of the Islamic faith.

XCVIII/6: Lo! Those who disbelieve, among the people of the Scripture and idolaters, will abide in fire of hell. They are the worst of created beings.
From the above passage you can clearly see that according to Mohammed, Allah has reserved a special place for non- Muslims--HELL!

IX/5: Then when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor- due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
This verse tells us that Muslims are free to convert non-Muslims by force and brutality. If unsuccessful in doing so, they are free to kill.

IX/73: Oh Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end.

LXIX/30-37: (It will be said)Take him and fetter him and expose him to hell fire. And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. Lo! he used not to believe in Allah the tremendous, and urged not on the feeding of the wretched. Therefore hath he no lover hear this day nor any food save filth which none but sinners eat.
Here we get a description of how to punish Non Muslims. This is in practice even today in Islamic countries. In fact, the Sikh Gurus and their families were tortured by Muslims as prescribed in the Quran. For example, Sikh guru Tegh Bahadur on refusing to accept Islam, was brought to the prison in a cage like he was a wild animal. Three of his disciples were murdered in front of him. One of them was Bhai Mati Das. He was sawed alive. The other was wrapped up in cotton and burnt alive. Bhai Dyala, the third one, was boiled alive. Guru Tegh Bahadur himself was brutally tortured and killed in a similar fashion. We see further support of these types of torments in the verses below.

XLIV/43-50: LO! the tree of Zaqqum (The tree that grows in the heart of hell bearing fruits like devil's heads) - the food of the sinner. Like molten brass, it seetheth in their bellies as the seething of boiling water. (And it will be said): Take him and drag him to the midst of hell, then pour upon his head the torment of boiling water. Saying: TASTE! LO! thou wast forsooth the mighty, the noble! Lo! this is that whereof ye used to doubt.

IX/123: O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you and let them find harshness in you and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him).
IV/144: O Ye who believe! choose not disbelievers for your friends in place of believers. Would you give Allah a clear warrant against you ?
This verse clarifies the fact that a true Muslim can never be a friend of a person of another faith. People who believe otherwise are under delusion.

IX/29: Fight those who do not profess the true faith (Islam) till they pay the jiziya (poll tax) with the hand of humility.
This verse in Quran gave birth to the law that all non Muslims living in an Islamic state have to pay the jiziya or poll tax for the privilege of being there.
    • Islam is a peaceful religion: really? Immediate violent jihad is waged if you doubt it.

  4. part II
Muhammad is a messenger of God? Why not, even when God did not help him out, his all children except one died in childhood.
    • Satanic fatwa is awarded if you doubt his messenger hood.
    • Islam respect women? We whip them if they doubt it.
    • Islam respect other religions? We demolish their temples and deities. There is no deity but Allah.
    • Islam respect followers of other religions? We kill them they are infidels.
    • Muslims are loyal to the country where they live in? We break the country if we are large enough in number. Sometimes we send our sons to liberate our brothers and sometimes invite foreign Muslim brothers to liberate us.
    • Muslims are suppressed in non-Muslim countries? We don't suppress non-Muslims, we have cleansed them long ago.
    • Muslims don't get jobs? We don't get jobs even we are so learned, even when we are Hafiz (memorized Koran by heart). Even when our children are so intelligent, we keep brainwashing them since their birth.
    • Muslims integrate with locals? What is the problem if we wear hanging Pyjamas even in Alaska (Muslims in Arabia used to wear pajamas enough above the ankle in order to avoid tearing at the bottom due to friction with the sand).
    • Muslims are hated by others? We don't hate non-Muslims, Allah hates them.
    • Kooran is the words of God? Who dares to doubt it, even when it is full of satanic verses? We have traded our brains with solidarity.
    • So many Muslims are killed worldwide daily in militant activities? Who cares, we are the fastest growing religion. We produce 20 children per woman; fodder for the canons.
    • Muslims are modern and civilized people? Thank to Allah, who has given us oil and sharia laws.
    • Having oil we don't need to use our brains (if there is any) to get money for modernization. And we have provided eternity to our civilization after anchoring it with Sharia.
    • Muslims retaliate when they are oppressed? Who says, Muslims start a conflict, we have right to hurt others, non-Muslims are already guilty of not believing in Muhammad.

World evaluates you by your behavior, not by your name. Please correct your behavior first and be civilized so that world does not need to civilize you with bamboo sticks. It's high time to bring Muhammad and Islam to justice. Also, in view of the latest developments, it seems that Muslims world wide are persona non grata. It is in their interest that they should leave non-Muslim lands as soon as possible including so called Pakistan, otherwise I can foresee that days are coming soon when Muslims will be kicked out from these countries forcibly and bluntly, the way it is happening in many parts of the world

  6. Islam says it all. What does it call the non-believer and etc etc.

I do not intend going to the depths of what Mohammed had preached.

As one says, Communism, Nazism, and democracy are all different polities and ,therefore, can we lump them together as political systems and pass one judgment on all of them? Nay!

The Golden Rule that is at the core of all religions, but Islam, is an absolute truth. In the case of Islam, you have to travel through pebbles, boulders and rational inconsistencies. That is something ugly.

I am of the view that Islam is violent and evil.

Quote: "Other religions may evolve, but Islam cannot because it is prohibited to change it in any way. Any innovation (bid’a) is regarded as kufr. For Islam to “evolve” you have to throw away 70% of the Quran. The other 30% is just asininity. How can you do that when it clearly says you can’t pick and choose?" unquote

  7. Islam should be banned and Wilder is 100% right in his assumptions and demands the the Netherlands be allowed to continue living a free life as they have always done. Not a shackled one demanded by this peaceful religion of the sick.
