Sonia Gandhi's Fake Victimhood

The Congress has been badly dumped by the people in the last elections. There are chances they may be dumped from some states in the upcoming elections in a few months. Yet, our media still reports on their silly utterances as if Sonia Gandhi still rules the country. During the last few days Subramaniam Swamy has boldly said “Sonia Gandhi is a crook” and that “BJP is soft on the Gandhis”. Take a look at how Gandhi-slaves NDTV report on the sleeping beauty called Rahul Gandhi:

They show the video, they show RG yawning, they show RG falling off to a quick sleep and then they report “BJP alleging RG sleeping in parliament”. Even their tweet on July 9 says the same. What are these people, blind idiots? If the man is caught sleeping on video does it take for anyone to “allege”? Such are the slaves at NDTV who still twist ordinary news reports into an act against the Gandhis. Oh! You can’t do that! See the Gandhis are like “sacred monuments”. Having played the idiotic “alleged” tape the channel then goes to a Congi who goes one step better (I’m not sure but I think it was Rajiv Shukla but that doesn’t matter). The Congi says “It is inappropriate for LSTV to show such images”. Okay, so it’s not inappropriate for the bumbling Pappu to doze off but it’s the camera’s fault. It doesn’t even occur to the Congi that the camera is not focused on RG but on an MP who is speaking in parliament and RG just happened to be in Zombieland right behind him. That’s the lighter part though.

There are many misdeeds that the Nehru-Gandhi clan has to answer for. Our historians and media have conveniently washed off those sins. Recent revelations about the 1962 war appear to show Jawaharlal Nehru goofed up badly. Monuments are made for him. Indira Gandhi went unpunished for Emergency crimes. More monuments! Rajiv Gandhi had no accountability for 1984. Some more monuments! All three were happily awarded Bharat Ratna; two of them during their own tenures.  This fake greatness to the family now even extends to the Vadras. This is why, regardless of what one might think of Swamy, he is doing a monumental job in prosecuting the Gandhis for their crimes in the National Herald scam. Predictably SoniaG and Congress cry “vendetta”. It’s time people and GOI stopped listening to such nonsense. Courts don’t rule based on someone’s vendetta else Narendra Modi would be in jail instead of being the PM. The Congis who carried out the biggest witch-hunt India has ever known against Modi are now screaming “vindictiveness, vendetta”.

In bogus defence of the NH scam there is a lawyer called KTS Tulsi who even grandly claimed “Young India” (76% owned by the Gandhis) which scammed NH was formed to promote “democracy and secularism”. Really? And what’s the Congress supposed to promote? Minority appeasement? Even AK Antony has now rubbished the Congress’s “secular credentials”. The TOI report says: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday said a court summoning Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and herself in connection with the National Herald case, smacked of 'political vindictiveness' by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government… Sonia also confirmed that the income tax department has served her party notices in a case that alleges that she and other party leaders misappropriated funds of a company that used to publish the erstwhile National Herald newspaper. "This kind of political witch hunt will only help us and help us to come back faster (to power)," she said.

So Sonia Gandhi and her son will keep on committing misdeeds but no one should act against them? The woman is seriously hallucinating if she thinks the IT notice and imaginary “vindictiveness” will bring them back to power faster. She probably thinks she will be fortunate like IndiraG who could topple a “Khichdi” govt in 1980 and return to power. It appears that the pathetic number of 44 that Congress got hasn’t taught her any lessons. At the other end of this saga of misdeeds her “Damaad” quietly closes down six spurious companies he floated to carry out all kinds of dubious dealings. He is so brazen he doesn’t even file annual returns for these companies. Read this: Vadra, the husband of Priyanka Gandhi, is quietly closing down six companies set up just two years ago.The firms have never filed annual returns or balance sheets, an examination of company records by HT shows. Lifeline Agrotech, Greenwave Agro, Rightline Agriculture, Future Infra Agro, Best Seasons Agro and Prime Time Agro are all private limited companies established between June and August 2012, purportedly as agriculture or agro-processing firms. Vadra is named as managing director and promoter in company records.

Had it been you or me or any ordinary citizen we would be hounded by the authorities and made to pay heavy penalties for not complying with statutory requirements. Vadra quietly winds up companies but still retains his security and exemption from security checks. Who the hell are these people? And the BJP guys in GOI don’t have the courage to act on him? This is why Swamy makes sense when he says BJP is soft on them. For all the scams and misdeeds of the Congress, SoniaG and some ministers should be hounded the way Al Capone was hounded with a special task force. The new govt may be in its early days but if they let them off for their crimes against this country it will be one promise that Modi would seriously fail to keep. Following the court summons to the Gandhis in the NH scam the IT department was compelled to issue a notice on the tax exemption. If they hadn’t done that someone would have again gone to court and forced them to act.

After SoniaG reacted with her statement about vindictiveness bringing her back to power soon, TimesNow ran a headline “Sonia warns BJP”. So for these media crooks she is so powerful? Rahul Kanwal on July 9 ran a poll on his nightly show on Headlines Today asking people if this was “vindictive politics”. Some 50% seem to have said “yes” to that stupid question and who knows who or how many vote on these silly polls. It’s a stupid question because it is not the right question. And these dumb morons pass off as journalists and editors to fool the viewers. The right question would be “Have Sonia and Rahul scammed NH”? The facts of the case clearly indicate they have indeed scammed NH along with others. They have also rented out properties of NH when they had no business to do so. Swamy has also written to the SIT on Black Money formed by the new govt asking for investigation into foreign bank accounts of the Gandhis. Is this all a figment of his imagination? Is all of it vendetta?

The NH scam broke sometime around November 2012. The media washed it off and would have liked it to be buried. If Sonia and Rahul actually have any high morals as they cry vendetta, why didn’t they act then? They could have reversed the transactions and sought a political closure to the case. They did not. They were brazen because they thought they could somehow still cobble up a “Coalition of the Corrupt” in 2014 and get away with the scams. Unfortunately, events did not turn out like that. Fake victimhood may have worked in the past when most people in the country did not have information. The South voted for IndiraG after Emergency because most states there didn’t experience the brutality of that period and because of censorship not much information travelled. It is not possible to escape now. Subramaniam Swamy is absolutely right in pursuing the cases against the Gandhis and the govt should actually back him. If corruption has to stop, the cleansing has to start from the top.

  1. Brilliant. Echoes the thoughts of every honest, hardworking nationalist . BJP govt cannot ( and should not ) go soft on Gandhis ( like ABV). Prosecuting the corrupt and getting black money into govt coffers has to be the topmost priority of this Govt. This would considerably help it achieve ' good days' for bharat.

    2. @common man,
yes, the SIT needs to be more broadbased and include people who have deep knowledge in the area of money laundering and financial crimes. A thesis can be written on what needs to be done to make the SIT effective and efficient ; and secure back illgotten wealth of criminals and fraudsters back into national economy - but not sure whether anyone really cares or is even bothered. I set out to write one but put it off due to lack of motivation .

  3. The Govt is well advised to excercise caution when dealing with the Gandhis. No only Gandhis but even the crookes of the order of even Dawood. That is the psyche of the Indian electorate , a euphemism for a group of largely sentimental creatures.Gandhis know it more than anybody. All their sins gets washed off if they somehow win over the hearts of these creatures. Not withstanding the mandate given to BJP pls note that the margin of error granted to them is relatively very narrow.Any error of judgement can snowball into a mass hysteria for the Gandhis. My own prescription is for the govt to win over the people with atleast two years of good governance and then move against these elite anti nationals. From the look of it, It appears that Modiji knows the perils of any early action more than anybody. Till such time it is better to let Swamy keep the pot boiling. This is a country that have elected numerous dacoits from the chambal valley to the parliament.

    1. Totally agree with one addition that some congress ruled states are going for elections so wait till they are over. This vendetta thing can harm to some extent so let be on back burner. I think, the same logic must have been applied in case of Vadra too. His crimes are documented so they can be acted upon anytime.
And Shri Ravinar, this post was delayed and had effect on my morning rituals. You have to look after health of your readers too.

    2. @anand,@rajan,
one of the planks on which modi got votes is he fighting corruption and bringing back black money. If he or his govt is going to be on the defensive in handling cases against corruption, it would be to his own detriment.
and yes, your point of views is indicative of the continuing hold of mainstream media on the psyche of some indians . The fake gandhis and congress have been routed. The NH scam and vadra corruption charges have been in public domain for sometime now and yet media is deliberately playing for them . In any other country ( including one like Thailand ) ,the corrupt rulers had to flee the country or got prosecuted ruthlessly - why this diffidence in India ???
in my opinion offence is the best defence. The longer they roam free, the more damage they can cause. Even now they are causing enough bad press ( be it on decisions relating to railways or the budget). Tomorrow sonia could fiegn sickness and garner more sympathy. Priyanka could yet project herself as victim even if the vadra case is taken after 1-2 years. There can be no end to this. Meanwhile if Modi sarkaar is unable to reign in inflation or is faced with other tragedies ( i fear large number of railway accidents given their attempts to increase speed of trains without commensurate focus on safety) - that would add to confusion.
so "shubhashra sheegram" ( do auspicious acts immediately - and not wait for so called opportune time). One has to strike while the iron is hot and do it properly. Modi has blundered in choosing some of his council of ministers. And such situations ( of mainatream media continuing to be sympathetic to corrupt leaders and anti modi so shamelessly) is a direct "tragedy" arising out of lack of competence of many of his ministers.

modi has to act now . Strongly, tightly, swiftly, comprehensively. And successfully. No excuses

    3. @Iyer, the disaster that NDA faced in 2004 is till fresh in my mind.By all parameters it was a better govt than any KhanChris govts. But still they made a blunder of 'India Shining'campaign that the Gandhis used to arouse passion among the voters. So naive are our electorate.MMS being a weakest PM comment by Advaniji did the job for the khanchris in the 2009 election. In anycase I think the present govt is soft peddling on the issue since they do not have a majority in RS.The ensuing elections in the few states before the end of the year will be crucial for NDA to gain majority in RS and shift gear to round up these anti national Gandhis for ever.I agree with you that one must hit the iron when it is hot. But I personally feel it is time to heat the iron now and hit it at the appropriate time.

Navin Chawla's wife has been alleged to be business partner of SoniaG's sister in antique trade. I fully buy your point to gain few more states and work out comfortable majority in both the houses. I am sure Congress can even sabotage some trains to take sheen out of Modi's claim where Modi has to be really careful.

    6. @anand,
it is not a perfect world. One has to make do and excel with whatever one has. Post victory of Modi, i had actually envisaged a scenario that media crooks will be on the run and so too corrupt politicians ( including chidambaram, kapil sibal, Italians) but i am terribly disappointed. And one does not even have to be vindictive. Just fast track the cases already in progress . Modi had promised that he would ask the courts to set up a separate stream to close out existing cases against all MPs. Similarly there is a damning case against NDTV/Chidamabaram. Even if it takes a lot of time to build watertight cases , one can always put them on the dock and prosecute them on low hanging fruits ( the one crore foreign jaunt ( sponsored by ndtv ) of abhisar sharma ( a ndtv journo) and his IT officer wife is an inescapable case of bribing a govt servant who passed a favourable assessment order for ndtv). There would be many more similar cases . The proximity of times group, barkha dutt with pakistani officials is also probe worthy ( remember "aman ki aasha", 'dehati aurat' ???) . It is all a mind game. The govt cannot afford to even blink. The bluff needs to be called immediately and media shamed and prosecuted for their sins. And so too all the corrupt. AAP is constantly targetting Reliance. Why is Reliance not able to get sympathy ( despite owning media houses ) ?? And so yes , one has to target the corrupt properly, well prepared with confidence and competence ( and not namby pamby fumbling approach). So if bjp is not competent and not confident, then yes they better enjoy their few months/years in office and continue to face a hostile media and noisy opposition.

Even now, everyday, there are many people watching and discussing these Arnabs and believing small part of it and doubting about what's happening. With support of print media and others, they are Elbe to put doubts in the minds of supporters. Modi has been successful for so many years and I believe he knows what he is doing and am happy to leave it at that. One small cure I have found for my happiness : after 16th May, the results day, I have stopped watching English news and views channels completely. Try it.

    9. @rajan,
i am off mainstream media for years now. Hahaha!!!. I keep myself informed thru internet. Narendra Modi will have to manage the challenges of ensuring the right messaging. His government has miserably failed on that count . Despite a reasonable budget , his govt is getting flak, markets have tanked.. It is all due to wrong messaging and incompetent cabinet colleagues. This is what happens when one has a javadekar, a smriti irani, a ravishankar prasad , dharmendra pradhan ( in charge of oil and gas !!!!! ) et al.
it is for his own good , that i expect Modi to rethink his choices and approach. I expected a different forty days from him, he is gradually frittering away his mandate. He could have even been overtly vindictive it would not have mattered . But now he is facing flak even for the sensible things his govt does or despite the sensible things he delivers. Sonia maino and the biased media is playing /projecting victimization. One has to be astute, ruthless and smart. Narendra modi has to win . Failure /sub optimal outcomes are not options for him.

  4. "Yet, our media still reports on their silly utterances as if Sonia Gandhi still rules the country."

Is there any doubt? Does any govt (state or central) have the will to initiate a single action against the Gandhi family despite widespread prima facie evidence of wrong doing? Forget about the Gandhi family, will BJP dare to go after any of the corrupt minions from the erstwhile UPA, rightly dubbed as the "most corrupt govt. in India's history"

The sheer gullibility of the people of India and their blind faith towards treacherous persons is exactly why it's people have been dominated by foreigners in the past and will continue to be dominated in the future.

This may hurt quite a few but Modi-bhakts will be roundly disappointed as he is yet another puppet installed by the masters. The sooner the people wake up and demand what is right for the country, the better. Otherwise there can be an endless debate between Coke vs Pepsi when the reality is that, stripped from their branding/marketing gimmicks, both are equally harmful...

  18. Exactly Ravinar!

I can imagine no other persons, in the place of Sonia and Pappu, who receive so much respect and adulation, after such a disastrous performance. The Maa-Beta duo has proved to be the anti-thesis of king Midas. Whatever they have touched, has turned to dust.

The Congress inherited a strong and vibrant economy and a country on the verge of making it big. They have turned it into one groaning under the weight of a shattered economy, mis-governance, pitiful law-and-order situation and a deeply divided social fabric. In addition, Maa-Beta, along with extended family and friends, are involved in personal scams worth unimaginable sums of money. They are common criminals really...thugs of the highest order.

If we consider the number of MPs in the present parliament, Sonia, Didi and Amma have a similar ball-park number. Yet the media considers Didi and Amma fit for ridicule, but not Sonia. I remember the furore caused, when Modi said that Sonia was unfit to be employed as a clerk and Pappu unfit to be employed as a driver. Modi was spot-on, yet the media was outraged.

By addressing the Maa-Beta directly, in his election speeches, Modi has successfully dented the halos surrounding the duo. Swami already addresses them as they deserve to be addressed...like thieves who have scammed the country. I hope the rest of BJP develops courage too. The media will come round too hopefully.

  26. In british rule, the Maharajas had to forgo their wealth and settle for monthly salary and their authority was taken away except for one reason of collecting the revenue and giving account to British rulers. It is these Maharajas or Zamindars or Thakurs or Choudharys who later joined Khangress during freedom moment not for the genuine reason of freedom fighting but they were fighting for there lost glory.

It is this "maharaja ruling class" who later become ministers after India got independence. In the garb of serving nation, they looted the country to fill in their own empty coffers and in the name of setting up industries, public issues were given and then factories were closed down without accountability, exactly the same way as it is happening with Robert Vadra or Nathional Herald case. Like this they have amassed huge wealth at the cost of nation.

With raise of narendra modi, first time a person from ordinary family is ruling India, though we can also take example of Lal Bahadur Sastri who actually set real rules of adminstration and made changes to the way things were governed till then.

The media & arm chair intellectuals joined the rules to create a hallo of democracy and continue like it happened in French revolution. There were living in glass castles and away from ground realities.

That way narendra modi is a god sent opportunity to put real India or Bharat in right perspective and teach the world what Bharat has done in past.... to set pace for the world..... by knowledge and ruling......

Criminal action against the fake gandhis is implicit in the huge mandate for Modi as evidenced by the crushing defeat of congress. This serious business can't be left to S.Swamy alone. ReplyDelete
  29. Ravinar, hahaa.. thats a really ass whipping article on the queen.

Surely most of us would have been disappointed with the rather weak attitude that NDA had taken on the Congress members for their corruption and their arrogance.

    1. For one, Modi surprisingly enough for many detractors (and equal to his die hard supporters) was not vindictive at all. He talked in a manner which seemed to build consensus on issues. Perhaps Modi- Jaitley do not want the atmosphere to be filled with negativity too early in the Govt, the bureaucracy which only started working after years of policy paralysis would certainly have negative effect as any witch-hunting (either legitimate or otherwise) would have direct affect on those officials who wililngly or unwillingly obliged the Gandhis during their rule. Without their (bureaucrats) support modi cannot go longer. This is the reason why Jaitley chose continuity (also due to the reason of fiscal constraints) over big bang reforms.

    2. Apart from removing suspicions among bureaucrats, Modi a realist he is, is not sitting quiet. He had slowly moved the officers who are more partial to UPA and then started with transferring (or asking the resignition) of Congress appointed governor from key states.

    3. If there is any big stick that Modi is holding its the Leader of opposition status to Congress, without which the opposition party's leader is completely exposed to the courts as the position of LOP equals a cabinet rank. Unfortunately political acumen teaches us to use it when required as BJP does not have the numbers in Rajya sabha and had to rely on congress for this. Key bills and amendments of Food security bill and Land acquisition bill cannot be passed in Rajya sabha without the support of Congress.
Of course he will convene joint houses, but frequent use of it is unwarranted and will end up making the opposition united.

4.Any direct attack by the govt of Gandhis is construed by people as vindictive and their focus distracted from main issues of Governance and so using subramaniam swamy as a proxy to keep pressure on the family.

5.Court cases take a long time and any partial judgement against Govt will be construed as defeat by the media, this is the reason why BJP is working on consolidating the power rather than focussing on already dilapidated opposition members.

6.Congress is still in the Govt in Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Delhi, J & k , uttaranchal, himachal and haryana. The key states which may go to BJP in near future. BJP is first working on winning in key states (maha, haryana and Delhi) and once that is done, Congress will get a final blow since Maharashtra contributes disproportionately to the congress confers for its election expenses (with Andhra gone, congress only hope now is Karnataka as Maha is about to slip).

7.Jaitley's budget and gowda's budget were conservative simply because not only congress put minefields through pay commission, Food security bill, Land rehabilitation bill but also ensured empty coffers through scorched earth policy. Any radical attempt to reform and its unexpected failure would have ended not only BJP's honey moon but nerve for reform.
Its right to be disappointed if you are a modi supporter but I warned them, the changes would only take time.
While the Modi-Jaitley cut down on the freebies, they also ensured most of the central schems are transferred to states to begin an era of real federalism.
As for disinvestment or selling lands of railways to improve modernization, well they will be coming not in budget but with peacemeal reforms and so voters who voted modi must wait.

    1. very well put. I would only like to remind ppl of the mission 44 that BJP has for J&K. Shows the fire in the belly of BJP.

The govt must work in tandem with the party. consolidation is very important as this is the most critical time of independent India. it is now or never situation. for the govt, firmness of action is much more important than speed. for the party, speed is as critical.

      hence Amit Shah.

  33. Though the charge that BJP is soft on Congress has some merits, it is too early to say. I would give BJP the benefit of doubt ... in fact more than that.

Just recently Dr. Khemka was inducted into center and very likely will be posted in PMO. No dispensation which is soft on nakli Gandhis will do this. IT dept has already served notice to congi cockroaches in connection to NHscam.

It makes sense to move slow but with determination. In 1977, the ruling Janata party charged Indira with all kinds of ridiculous charges (among them stealing a dozen eggs). it only gave the impression of vendetta and benefited congis handsomely. I do not want history to repeat itself. Move slow but with sure footedness. I trust PM Modi that he is intolerant of corruption and I trust his judgement (at least until I get a clear evidence to the contrary) ... hence I am willing to give time to BJP to act and not react as someone zapped with lightning bolt. At the same time strict vigil must be kept ...

    1. Very much agree with you. Go slow on political criminal dynasty (aka Gandhis) , but steady without appearing vengeful. Most of Indian electorate is still ignorant. They don't know the difference between criminals being in jail (Indira Gandhi after emergency) and democracy activists being in jail (JP, LKA etc in jail during emergency). If Modi govt shows over enthisiasm and jail the family members, they will gain undue sympathy. Instead, block their illegal activities, recoved their illegal assets, slap court cases (repeatedly) and make them run, but never jail them unless a court says.

  34. The very fact that likes of Bdutt, Rajdeep cannot consume anything against their beloved royal family is an indication of how much indebtedness they are in of the dynasty! Should we not commend them for their unflinching loyalty? It is different thing that loyalty is not always a virtue. Bdutt of NDTV cannot see RahulG sleeping is nothing new it is the same three monkeys’ attitude which we have continued to witness all these years, can’t see anything against their perceived god, Can’t hear against them and can’t speak against them. Should not be a commission appointed to enquire into ‘Media one of the beneficiary of corruption’!
If today’s (16/7) news is any indication than Infatuation of TV channels with royals is still unabated. Channels like AajTak, ABP (must be many others too) went gaga with the news that ‘Rohan Vadra (son of P.Vadra) along with his friend attended parliament for the first time’. Thank god we are spared of the news that ‘so and so of royal family has cleaned their bums for the first time by them own’.
TV channels are doing their best to cover-up National Herald news by picking up either Onion, Potato or Tomato stories, recently for three days they are on VP Vaidik and physically they are in hijacking drama, yes, yesterday (15/7)some channel-wala lifted Vaidik from Karan Thappad show on Headline Today.

    1. Need of the hour (and minute and second) is to sideline the MSM completely by constantly exposing their lies, half truths, unwanted topic diversions, double standards and secret plants. At the same time, both the govt and people activists should encourage and expand social media usage to reach the masses directly without middle brokers of MSM. People should also shun the liar MSM media by boycotting their news papers and TV channels. And try relatively truthful media sources like DailyPioneer, NitiCentral, India TV News, TV9 etc.

    2. The sanest voice in TV journalism is Rajat Sharma in Aaj Ki Baat, daily at 9'o clock evening. though he is also prone to ganga-jamuni-tehzeeb type crap and preachy lectures, one can never find him hyperventilating or ranting.

the best part is, there is almost never a panel discussion to irritate

  36. The G clan (fake or otherwise) has been sucking the blood of our country ever since the British stopped doing so. The fact that they can still influence the media crooks to pursue G friendly 'Journalism' makes me wonder exactly how much wealth they have amassed, systematically cheating India and her people over the decades.
As others have said, I am willing to give the benefit of doubt to the current government. But I really do hope all of us are not left waiting forever to see the G clan to finally pay for their sins!

  37. SoniaG wants to enjoy the perks as Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.
Govt should ask Other Opposition Parties ( other than CONgress ) to select a Leader of Opposition and ask them to pick a Young Muslim Female (less than 45 yrs) to prove their sickular credentials.
