The SoniaG Travel & Health Bulletin

For all the noise about her travel bills not once has Sonia Gandhi ever stepped up and answered these questions herself. It’s mostly cronies in the media like Arnab and Rajdeep Sardesai and others defending her. Then she has some foot soldiers like Manish Tiwari or Rajiv Shukla who can kick and scream but hardly have an answer. Cleverly (as usual), our media morons made the story of one of BJP Vs Congress instead of a scrutiny of the real issues.

Remember Simon Denyer? Remember how many times some media crooks flashed his apology for his “MMS Tragic failure” article? We have a Johny-come-lately with the Narendra Modi statements on Sonia’s travel expenses. Javed Ansari of India Today group, tweeted Modi had expressed regret. In another tweet to his own colleague he claims the Editor who published the 1880 crores story denies it. Denies it? No Ansari dear, unless you’re a reflexive liar like Digvijay Singh, the article was indeed published. He didn’t and cannot deny something already published and now seen by the whole world. All he asked was why only his paper was being mentioned when many papers carried the same story.

That’s a good question. Why pick on only Yashwant Shah and his “Jayhind” paper. The paper hardly has any circulation or readership. Why not pick on Saamna which is reported to have carried the same report in November? Oooh.. that would mean stepping on the Tiger’s tail. Wouldn’t it? Then who wants ShivSena in media offices breaking and smashing stuff. Loudmouth Arnab asks Rajiv Shukla if Congress will sue Modi for defamation. Shukla says they will consider it but will wait for Modi to apologise. This comic duo could star in a ‘Dumb & Dumber’ remake. Sue a guy for quoting from a newspaper? Is SoniaG some Goddess that seeking information about her is blasphemy? Is her illness relevant to the public? Is her travel, the expenses on it and other travels relevant to the public? Undeniably, YES!

Ever worked for a business or employed someone? Wasn’t there a form that required you to disclose any ailments? The reason is not to disqualify or discriminate but to know if the ailment would in any way affect the work one is recruited to do. Sonia Gandhi has been elected to do a job for people. Sonia has been employed by thousands of people to represent their interests and work for them. She is an employee of the people who pay her salary. Shouldn’t they know if she is medically fit? If any sportsman is selected to represent India, wouldn’t you be outraged if it was found he or she was medically unfit or on drugs? As for the expenses directly on her health, those need not be disclosed unless public money was used. Why should it require so many debates and for Modi to provide any evidence or to even dispute the veracity of a newspaper report? Once again the media crooks forgot what their job is. You have to admire them for ‘consistency’ though, in failing in their jobs.

Here are edited excerpts from an India Today article from July 2011:

Early in June this year.. Sonia Gandhi took off for London and her native Italy as political heat from civil society activists over black money and corruption soared in the Capital. In mid-June.. Rahul Gandhi ushered in his 41st birthday in London and topped up with a Swiss holiday. Both Sonia and Rahul's trips were widely documented in the media but the Lok Sabha secretariat has no information on them. It's common courtesy for MPs to inform the (Lok Sabha) secretariat about trips abroad, even if they are of a personal nature. But since June 2004, the month UPA came to power, the Congress president and her son have not bothered to inform the secretariat about any of their foreign trips.

Er.. Sonia and Rahul’s trips were “widely documented”? That’s an outright LIE and sheer nonsense! If you recall, J. Jayalalitha was in Delhi in June 2011 and the media even reported she might meet SoniaG. At the time our media had no clue if SoniaG was in Delhi or someplace else. India Today writes the article much later. That’s how the media fooled people then or were fooled themselves. Reports abound of SoniaG’s large entourage on her travels, even financial advisers. Who pays all the expenses? Here’s more from the same article:

When India Today filed an application under the RTI Act to the LS secretariat asking for details of personal foreign travel made by MPs since the 14th Lok Sabha, it furnished relevant information for lawmakers other than the Gandhis. The reply…was, "This secretariat attends to work relating to official visits of Indian parliamentary delegations going abroad and maintains record of foreign travel of members of the LS in their personal capacity if such travel is intimated by them to the Speaker's office." India Today filed another RTI query specifically asking how many intimations/requests the LS secretariat received regarding the foreign travels of Sonia and Rahul during the 14th and 15th Lok Sabhas. The response… on July 4 was: "Nil." Even official foreign travel details of the Gandhis are a mystery”.

Nil? Sibal? Now, were all travels of SoniaG and RahulG of a private nature and not paid by GOI? Rajiv Shukla, on TimesNow, kept talking about bills relating to Sonia’s treatment while cleverly avoiding the issue of her travels and travel expenses. Who paid those bills? That’s what concerns the public. Even if the travels were of a private nature it is important for the public to know who our MPs and MLAs meet during their foreign tours. It concerns information relating to national interest and security. Still, exactly five years ago SoniaG was at the UN giving a speech on October 2 being declared a day of “Non-violence” in memory of Mahatma Gandhi. Nice, isn’t it? What’s in a name, did that guy say? We had the greatest scholar on Gandhiji’s life and work giving that speech at the UN.

Now, on October 3, the CIC made an announcement that all medical treatment expenses were paid for by SoniaG privately. Surprisingly, why is the CIC making this announcement now as reported? According to TOI, his order on the RTI query of Sonia’s medical expenses was made in May 2012. Since that query has been already attended to the only purpose of media-screaming about that is to distort facts. Those who raised the question of 1880 crores would surely be aware of the May 2012 CIC report on the medical issue. CNN-IBN and other media channels promptly flashed and relayed the news over and over again as if the 1880 issue has been resolved. Clever, very clever! This is how media lies and distorts issues.

The 1880Cr is not about the treatment but about the travel bills of SoniaG and her entourage. Now, were the travels specifically for those treatments considered? One can incur 20 lakhs on travel and just 2 lakhs on actual hospital bills. In such a case the 20 lakhs should also be seen as being spent towards treatment because the travel would otherwise not be undertaken. Is the GOI saying the 2 lakhs were spent by SoniaG or the 22 lakhs were spent by her? This trickery needs examination. This is the question media should be asking.  The question on travels hasn’t been answered. Who paid for SoniaG’s travels and what is the correct amount of her travel expenses, her places of travel and the purposes. CNN-IBN can now officially use Digvijaya Singh’s face as their logo. Any number of lies can be peddled under that image.

Here’s a report by CNN-IBN on Sonia’s speech at the UN in 2007. “Don’t reduce Gandhi to a mere ritual” she says. Ah well, sounds funny coming from a person who lives a closed-book life, whose travels and health issues are such a big secret from the public, who refuses to even speak to the media. She is indeed living Gandhiji’s life, isn’t she? Hell, never mind. How did she get to the UN though? Was this a personal affair too? Was this a party affair? She wasn’t alone. She was accompanied by RahulG, Pranab Mukherjee and Anand Sharma. Were these guys also on a personal trip? How come then that the LS secretariat refused information to India Today about this trip?

Ever taken a flight? If you find your seat with tea, coffee or food stains, you might not think their house-keeping is bad. You would probably wonder if the aircraft’s engines are in good condition and if the aircraft is safe. What then is so different about the leader of a national party? If information on her health is required it is because the nation wants to know if the party and the govt are in good hands and in good condition. It is not about any one individual. Her employers, the people, have a right to know if she is in good medical condition and receiving good treatment and is medically fit for her job. All that the govt needs to do is put out her travel expenses and confirm the amount if it was spent from public funds. If it was spent from private money, the govt needs to issue a press release stating that too. The nonsensical statements of Manish Tiwari, Rajiv Shukla and Digvijaya Singh notwithstanding, this information cannot be hidden anymore.

Given the frequency with which SoniaG and her family travels abroad for health or other reasons the UPA should regularly issue travel and health bulletins. Someone must remind both the Congress and Sonia Gandhi that she is employed by the people, not by some private party

    2. How come viewers are condemned to suffer these anchor nuts who stage manage debates with the sole objective of Modi-BJP bashing and ferociously protecting the congress and the Gandhis. while Arnab is intolerable, Sagarika's feigning stutter drives viewers up the wall.

  3. all power and no responsibility...directly opposite for what democracy is..but in this kalyug only such people will be successful..that is why congress is failing in most states..factor of choosing state heads is loyalty and not leadership..and then preaching inner party democracy..somebody should file a writ in court if even LS secretariat is not aware of her clan's travel..and regarding media the least said the better, they are law upon themselves ,preaching everybody but enjoying the perks and privileges from the ruling party..regarding rise of person who makes a mark in media, the least said the better..many of us know what other things are required to qualify for that.

  4. The main reason the newspaper proprietor is worried about his own rag being singled out is simple. He is concerned about the blowback from the central government and the local Congress chamchas.

He should expect a sudden decline in the number of DAVP released tender notices and government ads besides other similar sources of revenue from the Congress sycophants eager to please Madam. Saamna wouldn't give a damn. They have other sources.

No wonder ministries and PSUs continue to put out massive tender notices in the era of the internet, this reliable source of revenue gives the government great power over the news media.

And yet, this is one government expense you will never find any newspaper cribbing about. Ever.

  5. Finally, a sigh of relief !!! This was the kinda attack I expected from Mediacrooks. Actually, even before your proper training on how to make out media bluffs and lies, I used to think in more or less the same way. But I would have never ever expressed it into proper words as you do.
You give words to our thoughts. Thank you 'Mediacrooks'.

  6. When Amitabh Bachchan was in hospital, the media would create a circus around the hospital and almost DEMANDED regular health bulletins in the name of "Public and His fans want to know..!! When he was discharged from the hospital..nd in very poor state they would pan cameras on him nd what not..What about the issue of personal health and privacy then?! Now not that Sonia G is sm Amitabh Bachchan..not by a distance..but as you say..She is employed by the people and everyone deserves to know..I know Mr. Modi only asked abt. her travel expenses..but what if he has asked abt. her health condition too..?! Nothing wrong in that too..Why is the media creating so much drama nd fuss.saying personal attack nd blah blah..Clearly the hypocrisy shows!!
P.S. I m a silent reader of this blog and really like ur writings nd guts..!! Continue the good work !!:))

  9. Sonia or Rahul's health does not concen me at all. They can live 100 years or go to hell tomorrow does not bother me. What is saddening is the destruction of all norms and system of governance by these Congress and UPA goons. No one other than the Queen Bee herself is responsible for this. It is shocking to see the behaviors of her Chamchas. I am sure no Indian King showed this type of gutter behaviour to any British Monarch. Absolutely disgusting and utter shameful act by Congi leaders, who are spineless and hijras.

Brilliant analysis Ravi. The rumour is that special flights from Europe are chartered for Queen Bee and her children. Expenses incurred by Lady called Pratibha was peanuts to, what we hear, that spent on travels of Queen Bee.

  10. Not so long ago - hardly a few weeks - there was a small report about Indian Air Force issuing a statement that it was standing by a helicopter pilot. Such a statement was highly unusual. The Clown Prince (CP) wanted to be flown in the copter in Assam as a matter of birthright and the pilot had refused citing weather conditions (i certainly would have hated the very idea of giving rides to CP, i know) and CP and Gogoi "had to make other arrangements" to go to Guwahati. The reason i could make out for what followed was that CP probably went off bawling to momma about that naughty pilot and a behind-the-scenes fuss had ensued. And the IAF went public with its support. That may be another perfectly ordinary reason but i can't think of one.

The Nehru-Gandhis no doubt treat themselves like royalty, as do their chamchas in the party and media. But we mango men don't.

  13. I am a little confused as to what exactly the India Todya RTI demanded... personal foreign travel or official... if the "NIL" was to answer the personal travel then obviously the UN visit would not have been captured their.
But i just love and hate the way our media successfully keeps so many blind to reality... Wish your exposes go "VIRAL" as they say and everyone gets to read all this.

  14. Dear Ravinar,

Yesterday on 3rd Oct, I was watching the IBN Lokmat ( Marathi Version of CNN-IBN). The topic being discussed was "Should Narendra Modi apologize to Sonia ". Now their were 4 regular culprits from Congress, Left, NGO's etc + Nikhil Wagle against 1 Rep from BJP. So basically 5 against 1. The real face of discussion became clear when Mr Nikhil Wagle declared the online poll results. Initially he mentioned 52% voters agree that Mr Modi should apologize, then suddnly within 5 minutes, he declared that his earlier data was wrong & more than 62% feel Mr Modi should apologize. The BJP representative kept asking why should NAMO apologize for asking clarification on use of public funds but to no answer. I could not take this Drama anymore & switched the channel.

  17. there are 4 questions - 1) what was the cost incurred on the public exchequer due to sonia's foreign travel between 2004 and 2010 prior to her illness 2)what if any was the cost incurred on the public exchequer due to the circumstances of her illness ? 3) if indeed the costs were not borne by the exchequer and were privately accounted for, who bore the costs and what was the quid pro quo ? 4)if sonia herself paid for all her innumerable foreign travels with her entourage what is the source of her wealth since her her public declaration is a few crores . for instance we know how much was spent on vp singh's healthcare.

I just hope there would be some day that these nationlooters get to answer for all their misdeeds.

If they travel with out permision or with out reporting then their pension is cancelled and action take by the government of India. Well i still think our MP's are government employees and by this standard they should also get permission..... Am I mistaken?

  26. Dear Ravinar,

The Congress might be planning to replace Manmohan with Shiela. I feel its a smart move by Congress considering she is the only CM with Congress who have returned back to power along with being a women. On other hand many in Media have started pitching for BJP CM's such as Shivraj Chouhan & Raman Singh as possiblr PM contenders. Now it seems Media is playing it two ways. On one hand if Sonia declares Shiela as PM, there would not be any opposition to it within Congress, but too many contenders in BJP( Swaraj & Jaitley already in race). Not too difficult to realise where the Media & Congress is taking the fight too. Although extremely corrupt, Its not for nothing that Congress is ruling for more than 50 years.

  27. Hi,

The lowered ratings of Fitch, Moody’s and S&P was a charade so that the politicians having thousands of crores of black money stashed abroad can LAUNDER it back home.

Otherwise it is stuck for ever abroad as Congress will NOT win anymore elections in India.

FDI from abroad has now made it possible for this enormous black money to be looped back into India officially using BENAMI foreign names –like how the IPL owners are all benami.

These corrupt politicians will now OWN India’s infrastructure in assets the way Rothschild has done it in Europe and USA.

We Indians and her security agents have NOT fallen for the GDP versus growth nonsense.

After 2104 elections, these inflowed funds from foreign banks will be seized.

Come on you corrupt folks bring it back before 2014.. Like for YSR/ Jagan Mohan Reddy—we will put your children and grandchildren in jail.

Punch into Google search MODERN ECONOMICS , AN EMPIRICAL PSEUDO SCIENCE- VADAKAYIL.

  28. hi, i have this another theory on why congress will continue to retain power despite current online activism for pursuit of truth: between 1981 and 1991 - India added 16.3 crore in population. Note that this is the far-too-young population that missed the 1984 carnage, several communal riots across country, shah bano, scams, bofors, bhopal, opening of babri structure gates and other instance of misuse of power during rajiv gandhi's prime ministership. Needless to say the 18 crore Indians added between 1991 and 2001 would have little memory of the above. But both the population groups (34 crore) probably watched 2002 gujarat riots (and by then we had at least 3 private television news channels running amok if i am correct)or prominently heard/read about gujarat riots subsequently as the paid media continued its tirade. Along with this two other events whose facts were twisted by paid media was demolition of the babri structure and riots that followed post that in Mumbai [i have empirically tested this hypotheses and hence come to this conclusion]. Now let's define the paid media's objective: protray BJP as communal, Modi as a criminal, cover-up congress mis-deeds and amplify even the smallest possible BJP-related issue to maintain that BJP is corrupt, repeat lies about BJP as truths and protect the real two-faced nature of congress. Now this 34 crore young population (30% of electorate) - what do you think they know about history and would they really believe us or paid media(assuming some of them have started seeing reason)? Some time back this website reported the number of projects/schemes named after the Nehru clan. Just imagine what impression a 10 year old has when he reads history books which glorify nehru clan, reads about rajiv gandhi international airport, rajiv gandhi sea link etc...Congress has used media and their power to continuously brainwash the young population. It is difficult to imagine how the tide will ever turn against the congress. the 2014 election will be a watershed in that aspect. i just hope the collective power of the Internet will helps us change India's destiny for good and will trounce paid media's attempt to defraud this democracy.

And it all fizzled out as soon as the Congress President was found on the wrong foot. Good job Times Now with media like you Congress doesn't need the AICC.

  30. These political chamchas and journalists must read the book 'obama's america....' by Dinesh D'Souza. Not for the veracity of the content. But for his fearless reading into the family descendants, their political affiliations and relationships with the President Obama. Here, the lady and her son who's running this country by proxy is inaccessible to journalists! Forget about Modi's assertion, just listen into the number of seminar-speeches by Dr Subramanyam Swami about SoniaG's family background, her's son's dual citizenship with dual passorts with different names, her 'no-'educational qualification and illegal affidavits, what not... Well, for such large-hearted open accusation by anyone on this lady and her family, she must not only have attempted to wage-a-legal war on Dr Swamy but should have made it a matter of self-respect to clear herself at the quickest possible time from such allegations especially when being the head of party and of the 'government'. Forget the position she holds in India, anybody in her place including my servantmaid would have felt shame-faced. The less said of her genuiness, the better. And media, don't even ask Dr Swamy about this. Either the media is spineless or have been paid to keep a distance from this family. Well.

A single trip may cost more than that. Do we believe like zero sibal that no money was spent by GOI? if true, then who paid for Sonia, her income and total assets wont cross 2 crore from her affidavits itself.

I thought a journalist's job was to interview people and let them opine and allow the people to decide for themselves. This guy is clearly nuts. He talks nonstop and doesn't allow any of the panelists to respond. It is also very obvious that whenever anyone has any Pro-BJP or Pro-Modi pespective, he immediately interferes and doesn't let them talk. This seems a rather ridiculous way to conduct a so-called debate. I have no clue have anyone can tolerate this idiot. I had a lot of respect for the Times Group and I'm a regular reader of the Times of India, but making this clown the editor-in-chief of their newschannel is a mockery to responsible and respectful jounrnalism to begin with.
