April 10 - The Day News Media Died

Never has there been a prolonged campaign of calumny against a single individual as the one carried out by our media and certain sponsored activists. All of that came to an end on April 10. The report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) finally established there was no evidence that Narendra Modi was involved in the Gujarat riots of 2002. The decade long campaign of evil finally died a gruesome death. Some of the most prominent names in the media also died a symbolic death. We remember those names and many more and pray that in the death of the news media there will be newer ones who will find their conscience. In ever loving memory of the conscience and careers of:

Barkha Dutt, Rajdeep Sardesai, Teesta Setalvad, Shabnam Hashmi, Harsh Mandar, Mallika Sarabhai, Mukul Sinha, Sanjeev Bhatt, Nidhi Rasdan, Sagarika Ghose, Praful Bidwai, Javed Anand, Javed Akhtar, Manish Tewari, Prannoy Roy, Vir Sanghvi, Vinod Sharma, Cedric Prakash, Hosbet Suresh, Arnab Goswami, Dipak Parasher, Ashutosh, Nikhil Wagle, Kumar Ketkar, Rahul Sharma, Sreekumar, Karan Thapar, Shoma Chaudhary, Ashish Khetan, John Dayal.. And Many More Nameless Faces
In Fond Memory of The News Media
In his book 'The Death of Media' writer Danny Schechter states that “We can’t fix America without fixing the mediaThe Death of Media shows why the fight to change our media is bigger than any political fight yet. It's not true for just the American media but equally true for the Indian media. We can't fix our political struggles without cleaning up our media first. A good part of our media died on April 10, 2012. Let's celebrate the death of evil.

  1. RIP the members of the Media Mafia. Talking of how US courts treat Politically motivated cases, I quote the below sentences of the US court which rejected the $20m Law Suit filed by INOC against the Hindu Org which published the full page advertisement exposing SoniaG.
"Early dismissal becomes even more essential when one considers the political context of this case. At bottom, this is a case about a U.S. subsidiary of a powerful political party in a large foreign country attempting to use our Courts to silence and intimidate its American critics in America. This is not only unacceptable; it is INTOLERABLE. WE AS A PEOPLE HAVE COMPLETELY REJECTED THE NOTION THAT A POLITICAL PARTY CAN `USE THE COURTS TO DESTROY POLITICAL OPPONENTS'. [United States v. Helstoski, 442 U.S. 477, 493 (1979)]'.”
We can hope that there should be some mechanisms developed in India which prevents Political Parties like CONgrees from using it's machinery to silence/gag it's critics.

  2. Just wondered, but for your hawk eye watch on the misdeeds of those epitaph is written, where would we be? For all the risk you take in exposing these crooks in the media and for being ever so educative for common man like me. Hats off, My dear friend. May almighty strengthen your hands to continue the great work and count on me for any support. Pranaams!

    1. I fully endorse you.
NBT-Hindi gave the head line as 'Report given to Jafri' and first line of news terms it a jhatka to Narendra Modi. Only later it talks of no evidence. Shame to these media crooks.

  3. I disagree sir. Media is not dead yet. Ofcourse it may be cornered and fighting a lost battle but its not dead. The media crooks will be more dangerous now than ever in their desperation. We have to be prepared for more frustrated moves and campaigns. Now leaving legal issue they are holding on to moral issue. Even if NaMo becomes PM the sustained though weakened campaign against him will be there. The real media crooks death will be total seclusion of it which is not possible till we have sickulars and illinfomred and poisoned minds about secularism. I would not celebrate this victory rather i would be cautious and be more vigilant for more attacks in various other forms. The real media crooks death will be when nationalists overpower the scene.

    1. The death is not meant to be death of media forever. It is that part of the media which thrived on lies about Guj riots that has died a death. I had already written 'Game over' for media sometime back. This is to formally bury the crooks in the Gujarat story. As for overpowering the evil.. the very forces that wish it also eat from the same garbage can. That's all

    2. They're still continuing - just today DNA has written about the "2000 muslims" who were murdered! Why is Modi so generous to not sue them when Union Minister Shri PRakash Jaisawal responded in parliament that 750 muslims and 254 hindus were killed.

Also, cannot the media be legally booked for selectively not reporting how out of 250 people in that house, only 69 were killed, rest were rescued by the Gujarat Police, even though there was a 2000 strong mob outside his house!

This is from NBT Hindi. Shame on our media

  6. It is indeed a sad day in the history of India. There is light at the end of the tunnel though and the proof of it was the loss at Mansa. Modi's career will be over in the assembly elections.

    3. Right, that tunnel took one full decade since 2002 to cross for the light to be seen!

    4. RFOL!!! Modi's career over in assembly elections?? This time congress will perish. Mansa loss is due to local issues. When it comes to assembly Modi's work will ensure people dump congress for ever. Also, you should be mourning instead of trolling online.

  8. Ravinar, I always hats off to u for your work. But sorry to say this time I've to hats off to a lady called Smriti Irani. I can say she is the most fearless lady in the world. The way she put her case y'day with justice Arnav Goswami, Mukul Roy and Ashish Khetan was commendable. I though Vinod Sharma should b there. When Smriti opens her mouth by saying that Tahlaka promoter is RS MP from UPA, Ashish Khetan was just done, he was speechless.

Stupid lawyer like Mukul Sinha was thrown into gutter by Smriti. When she puts some facts on Godhara abt 59 live burning of Hindu, Mukul call it irrelevant and for him burning of ppl in Gulbarg is of more important and the way he was speaking it seems that NaMo himself thrown petrol on the Gulbarg and burnt the people. I don't understand when some Muslim vice chanselor praises NaMo, muslim community boycotted him, why don't some Hindu community come ahead and boycott Mukul. If that happens then our MSM will say that all Hindus are fundamentalist and I'll not wonder headless chicken's like Rajdeep and Sagrika will go ahead and say all hindus are terrorist.

When Smriti told ppl of Gujrat Cottage Industry have vested interest of getting Padm shree etc. from congress, Mukul call it irrelevant.

Ashish Khetan don't have any answer when Smriti told that the fake interview which he was quoting from TOI has already been condemn by TOI on there editorial page as error.

Hats of to these two ladies.

I wonder if straight forward ppl like Tarun Vijay come on debate who can pull down congress panelist in to gutter in 2 mins, what MSM will react.

Earlier the other lady Minakshi leki confirmed that there is an FIR against congress leader in one of the riot, no msm is covering it.

  9. This "Secular" News media will truly die the day when there comes a breed of truly un-biased reporters, like Arun Shourie Types, fearless and anti-establishment. We miss those guys who could take the men in power head on without thinking about consequences, but the change is happening. I can see new breed of Journalists who are fearless and unbiased in their reporting. We have got the likes of Ravinar, Vishweshwar Bhatt and Pratap Simha to name a few

  11. Media Mafia is far from dead. For years they have been dancing Mehmood's Bhoot Bangla and have fine tuned the art of "Twisting" - every word & phrase will be twisted to suit their purpose; like Ashish Khetan tried last night. Ravinar, you are doing a great job by exposing their lies. But, is it enough? We saw last week, how in the last few hours before closing, the Modi Baiters changed the Time 100 poll results.Their number is overwhelmingly large. Someone suggested in your earlier posting that you should start your 24x7 channel. If you have the financial wherewithal, you should do that.To beat them you have to play their game.

  12. Mate now that justice is served, can we ever sue the MSM's for preventing the course of Justice ?

  13. A compact article - A picture is worth thousand words.

Said it all - Great job Ravi.

Agree with Swap there. BJP should use Smriti more. She just made the Anti Namo industry CEOs silent with her pointed attacks. The Khaitan chap was bereft of any "wind" perhaps only wind he could generate came from the rear end.

The facts she said about Tehelka, Padma Awards, number of deaths, Kar Sevak deaths, Sanjiv Bhatt - congress link, BJP should use them every time and always at any TV debate. This will show the likes of Arnab and many others in very poor light and take them head on.

Its so easy - Smriti came out all guns blazing and the jokers had no answers- missed out on Smriti vs Manish Tiwari though on Times Now.

BJP use this moment to blast out the critics - there is a pro-Modi constituency in the country. Project him and get your machinery to get them to vote - you will win many seats.

  18. I am hearing all this evening views, opinions and more so sermons about morality, legality , perception etc etc etc. I got confused or rather disturbed by the debates going in media today after SIT has given a clean chit to NaMo.

The arguments given by USUAL SUSPECTS (a certain section of media and so called social activists) who have an agenda (I have in mind no doubt about it )

  19. i agree with you all . BJP must use someone like Smriti Irani , Meenakshi lekhi and Ms Seetaraman also does good job . And dont forget Kirron kher .. she is damn good in exposing these crooks .You know if you cant present your case properly you are lost even if you are innocent .

  24. India is blessed with two gems one Dr. Swamy and another Mr Ravinar to wash with Agustin stable the former in political administration and the latter in another pillar of democracy, the media, that too when we are in an era a leading English daily in south had stooped down to plagiarize from vernacular yellow journal to tarnish the CM of south. May service last long and kudos for their valour to wash the unbecoming of the two agencies who are contributing with impunity to fleece the blood with straw

  26. The day SIT issued a clean chit, CNN-IBN and NDTV started airing photos of a Muslim with fire in background.(referring to Gulbarg and not Godhra) I asked "Why r they spreading fire now"....my friend replied "bcoz this fire lightens the fire of Sagarika's and Barkha's gas stove !!"

When Judge OP Saini issued a clean chit to Chidambaram, they started calling it justice and did not question why Justice Saini missed out this and that fact, why he waited for 2 hrs, came, said "case dismissed" without elaborating but here Barkha suddenly became a lawyer and started questioning Justice Raghvan why he missed advice of that Bombay HC judge, missed that evidence. What more, they started a smear campaign against SIT head. Shame on them
