Redemption For Fearless Cowards

Like any other ordinary Indian I am fond of movies. Some of the posts on this site have used movies as analogies or to demonstrate a situation. The best directors and screen writers tell a story amazingly well when the plot is simple or even if there is no plot at all. Something many of our media celebs would do well to learn. For once I will borrow from Nidhi Razdan, and we can look at the “larger picture”.

Aspiration and passion drive people. Passion drives them to live, to fight for justice, to fight for freedom, to power and to greed and corruption. Redemption comes in many different ways. History hangs on tiny chances. On the left is an iconic image of a man who has found liberation and redemption. Heavenly rains clean the shit off his body. At Shawshank everybody is “innocent”, they joke. Everyone, except ‘Red’! He sucks up to the parole board many times but is never allowed parole for a murder he committed as a stupid young teenager. Red had already served 20 years in prison when Andy Dufresne arrives; sentenced for murdering his wife and her lover. Andy is sentenced to two back to back life sentences for each murder (life sentence means “for life” in the US and not 14 years).

It’s a corrupt system, a corrupt prison and headed by an equally corrupt but religious warden who welcomes Andy and his honourable colleagues to prison: “Put your trust in the Lord; your ass belongs to me. Welcome to Shawshank”. Sounds like someone in the news lately, doesn’t it? The ‘man-for-everything’, Red, is “institutionalised”; he grows to the idea of prison. The cold and aloof Andy is a problem-solving banker by profession. He helps the prison staff with their tax returns and saves them money. Being a banker he is also an expert in money laundering and he provides that service gladly to the warden. First Rita Hayworth and then Raquel Welch adorns Andy’s cell. Turns out Raquel revealed more than her sexy poster did. An incident that could have changed his life from prison brings out a profound message from Andy to Red: “Get busy living or get busy dying”. The Shawshank Redemption is a movie about crime, innocence, friendship, human endurance and redemption. Andy Dufresne didn’t kill anyone; he was wrongly sentenced to prison. The one witness who can establish his innocence arrives at the prison and the warden kills him because that witness would mean the end of his money laundering. Dufresne finally escapes; with all of the 300 thousand dollars of the warden’s money he laundered. Some sort of severance pay for 19 years of wrongful imprisonment. The warden’s safe of loot is covered by a very profound religious quote about the lord: “His judgement cometh and that right soon”. Red finally gets a parole when he stops sucking up and tells the board he doesn’t give a damn. Both friends unite and live a free life in Mexico. The warden shoots himself when his corruptions and crimes are exposed by Andy. “Geology is a study of pressure and time. That’s all it takes, really. Pressure and time!”.   

Power and passion play a double hand. Power and corruption are also a study of pressure and time. That’s all it takes, really. Pressure and time! Ask Tarun Tejpal (TT) all about it. The ‘senior’ inmates at Shawshank had a practice of laying bets on the new inmates; on who will crack on the first night in prison. Red spots Andy as a “tall drink of water with the silver spoon up his ass” and places his bet on him to crack. Andy never cracked. At Tehelka some employees are coming out and probably saying “we were all just prisoners here of our own device”. TT may have won his bets in the past but this young 23-year old lady (V) didn’t crack. She stood up for herself and redemption for a “fearless” coward is at hand. Today TT hides in a hole but he’s not the only fearless coward around. If ordinary laymen like me could see the crimes of Tehelka since the first THINK in 2011 and their politically-motivated articles and stings; how is it that his fellow fearless cowards in the media couldn’t see it? Hammam?

There’s Hartosh Singh Bal who was associated with Tehelka at the resurrection in 2004. We shouldn’t forget that resurrection was on personal intervention of Sonia Gandhi. Bal tells Firstpost: “It didn’t last. As soon as funding issues starting cropping up, editorial compromises followed. What happened with my story in the media was in keeping with how events unfolded in the magazine once a fund crunch hit the organisation. I witnessed stories in other departments being killed after advertisers came and directly spoke to Tarun. And I had seen attempts made to slant political coverage not out of commitment to a certain set of values, but out of an obligation to a particular political party”. Any surprise why the Congis are very upset and will go all out to protect TT? They are behaving as if one of their own was caught in a sting operation. V only happens to be the latest but a courageous victim. What about others earlier?

There’s Sayeema Sahar, formerly of StarNews (now ABPNews). She claims to be sexually harassed by the bosses at StarNews (Avinash Pandey and Gautam Sharma). On protesting she was harassed and finally thrown out of the company it seems. Her complaints went unheard and even the “we-cry-for-all-women” NCW did not respond to her complaints. The NCW did nothing. Sahar is a Muslim woman but she hasn’t claimed being harassed because of that. Maybe she made a mistake. Maybe if she claimed she was harassed because she was a “woman and a Muslim” she would have got the attention of the NCW, the Congress, Minorities Commission, the AIMPLB, Digvijaya Singh, the Babri Committee, Teesta Setalvad, Barkha Dutt, Mulayam Singh, Nitish Kumar, Vrinda Grover and Javed “SAAB”. NOTHING! She was just thrown out and no one still wants to talk about it. I believe both Avinash Pandey and Gautam Sharma should be questioned by the NCW and the Police. Sayeema was pregnant when she was thrown out of the company after being harassed. (Read here, here, here, here).

Then there is another case at AAJTak. A letter from Rukmini Sen (read here) to Aroon Purie, the plagiarist-head of IndiaToday group, makes astonishing reading. She claims harassment but even as she is quitting her boss has odd questions on her reasons for leaving: “So Are you leaving this job for that man? Where does he live? Oh I know because you changed your FB status! Why are you in a long distance relationship? Will you marry him? Boyfriend waala maamla bekaar hai. Oh but I am sure you have many boyfriends. Which number is this one? Will you never get married? Live like this? with many”? I wonder if this boss wanted to discuss her resignation or write the story for some movie of a multiple-boyfriend heroine. Why don’t the grand pontificators of media like Rajdeep, Barkha, Swapan, Rahul Kanwal notice? What did they do about this? These editors are prisoners of their own selfish, greedy devices. Everybody is “innocent” at Shawshank. Let’s hear a sermon from Numero Uno Rajdeep Sardesai:

Imagine CNN-IBN without Rajdeep. Imagine TimesNow without Arnab. Almost every channel has promoted a personality cult rather than the news organisation. Yes, it is good to have stars but dangerous to allow them to grow so big that the organisation’s survival is put at stake with them. TT reflects the disease with most media outlets. NDTV’s credibility has been permanently damaged with Barkha Dutt’s Radiagate episode. Rajdeep is 3 years late. Here’s what I wrote when I responded to her self-righteous and shrill protests in her self-defence:

“Barkha is also extremely fortunate that NDTV has chosen to respond to this expose in her support. Does it mean the conversations Barkha was having with Nira Radia was approved by or in knowledge of NDTV? Any major organisation would have typically stated that the conversation Barkha was having was in her “individual and private” capacity. This is also a warning for all media channels not to have their brand names be so heavily associated with "personalities". A media channel needs to be bigger than personalities. Else, one flawed celebrity would be enough to bring the house down”.

Following the TT scandal everyone is now talking about the trail of Tehelka’s finances and the maze of its funding. Why now? Where were Indian Express, TOI, India Today and the latest FirstPost and many others hiding all this while? Even prominent columnists are now left in a quandary over their silence. The culture of vague and ambiguous writing must now come to an end. Honest journalism requires writing with names of offenders and not innuendos. The media is still shielding the former SC judge who has been recently accused of sexual harassment by two interns. Rajdeep did wonder why it takes outsiders to write our story (The Siege 26/11) but he doesn’t want to even talk or write about stuff that is so easily in front of him and doesn’t even need any great investigation or huge research. The extortion and blackmail tactics of Tehelka were visible since 2011 (and probably earlier). And how much cash has flowed into Tehelka from dubious sources is anybody’s guess. Take a look at the sponsors of KINK2013:

There’s BHEL, a PSU, there’s DLF whose chairman calls bribes as “payment for speeding up” service, there’s govt departments like Maharashtra and Kerala Tourism (in Goa??) There’s RIICO, the industry promotion organisation of Rajasthan. Every media celeb knew how Tejpal & Co. got their funds and how their severe loss-making magazine survived. It’s more like an under-hand “Ponzi scheme” without the promise of returns. Why would anyone believe that many other media houses are any different? Tehelka wasn’t paying salaries for months while the top management was enriching itself. Exceptional greed for power and wealth!

NDTV isn’t done with their “Hammam” behaviour. Shoma was their “darling” frequent flier on their panels and NDTV’s “victims” being part of Tejpal’s corruption-ridden THINK escapades. The filthy minds at NDTV pour nonsense into the public domain. Here’s a tweet by their ‘Social Network’ crap which discusses “Voyeurs” of the Aarushi & V case. I do not recall anyone slandering Aarushi or V on SM. If there is a stray moron it is probably from NDTV itself. After all, these are the poisonous channels that got psychologists on their panels to discuss the “sexual habits” of teens because 14-year old Aarushi was allegedly having an affair with the family’s domestic hand. How sick are these people? When Shoma resigned today, their “Ethics” head Sonia Singh tweets another silly message. Sonia doesn’t realise that people aren’t delighted at just about “someone” falling. They are delighted a corrupt bunch of people and a corrupt media house is falling. It doesn’t occur to her that TT, Shoma & Co. as a group enjoyed a perverted thrill at entrapping people with stings and then gleefully celebrating their fall. Till their last day they were plotting the fall of “one” man. Unfortunately for them, fate and justice exposed their slimy character. Bad luck for NDTV!

A word about the “The Shawshank Redemption”: As with injustice in life the movie was nominated for 7 Oscars but went without a single one. A lesser movie like ‘Forrest Gump’ won a few. Shawshank has touched people across the world so deeply that since its release in 1994 it has permanently remained in the Top-10 of many charts of popular movies with viewers. Even this week it remains the No.1 choice of best movie of all time with viewers on the IMDB list. Knowing his fate after being exposed, the warden at Shawshank kills himself. Red observes: “I'd like to think that the last thing that went through his head, other than that bullet, was to wonder how the hell Andy Dufresne ever got the best of him”. TT must be similarly wondering in his own literary style: “How the hell did a 23-year old chit of a girl get the better of a crook like me”. Tejpal isn’t the only one in trouble. The consciences of many others have been rattled too.

“Andy Dufresne crawled through a river of shit and came out clean”. V came out clean from the shit in the lifts at the Grand Hyatt. Tejpal and Shoma crawled through a different river of shit and didn’t come out clean. They ended up in an “ocean of shit’. Andy didn’t destroy just the warden; he destroyed the entire corrupt prison system. V didn’t destroy just Tejpal, Shoma or Tehelka; she has destroyed whatever credibility was left of the MSM. Many major media houses are a Shawshank with “prisoners of their own device” and corrupt wardens and innocent victims. It’s time the fearless cowards changed their ways. 

ABPNews, NDTV - Floody Frauds

Let’s face it, we all make mistakes. Even the best of experts make mistakes. It’s just that some mistakes can be honest and not be so harmful and some are deliberate and fraudulent. Some mistakes can be hilarious and some can be very damaging or offensive to others. Watch this video (1.42 mins) from BBC 24Hours where the anchor interviews Guy Kewney an IT expert over the Apple (Beatles Music Co.) V Apple Computers case. (Do watch the video before you proceed further):

Guy answered all the questions the anchor raised without batting an eyelid. The ‘Guy’ in the video is remarkable for his composure considering he wasn’t the ‘Guy’ the BBC wanted. The real Guy Kewney is the one in the pic on the left. The Guy that the anchor interviewed was a taxi-driver who was hanging around in the BBC reception area waiting for an interview for a job at the station. His name is Guy Goma who became more famous after the goof-up. What is hilarious is that Goma not only carried himself brilliantly during the interview but even as a taxi-driver he gave some very convincing answers. That tells you how even ordinary folks are up to speed on issues. But that doesn’t say much for the BBC or the anchor does it? Poor lady didn’t even know what Guy Kewney looked like. Considering Kewney was an IT journalist till his death in 2010 one would have expected an anchor to know about or at least have seen a pic of Kewney. That’s the ‘expertise’ and ‘general knowledge’ of anchors. The best part? The anchor thought she had an “expert” as her guest, while Goma thought this was an interview for the job he was seeking.

In Goma’s case all ended well and everybody had a good laugh and no one suffered any damage. Life would be boring without such genuinely honest mistakes. But what about the viciously deliberate frauds that TV channels perpetrate on viewers? Take a look at the pics below: 

These are screen shots of a semi-porn video aired by TV9 and SuvarnaTV in Karnataka. These channels and others never stop lecturing people about vulgar displays by and of women and porn and so on. Yet such cheap titillation is passed off as news item. There can hardly be any doubt that the material is offensive and in poor taste. What does one do with such airings? The man who sent these images (@Surnell) protested to the Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) with an email attaching these pics. The BCCC then directed him to address the complaint to News Broadcasters’ Association since these were “news channels”. Yeah… that’s the NBA which I often refer to as the Union of Snakes. By the time @Surnell gets anywhere with his complaints he will find the NBA is like any other govt body.

Let’s talk about Anderson Cooper of CNN. Cooper rose to prominence for his reporting from conflict zones as a freelancer. Today, he is the superstar of CNN and probably a superstar among TV anchors in the US. Cooper’s rise in CNN was quite quick and his most promoted show is AC360. Still, despite being a famous studio anchor every time there’s a natural calamity or disaster, Cooper returns to report from the ground. He has mostly been in all hurricanes, tornadoes and floods as the following images would tell you:

Our big media celebs are too lazy to get their asses off their studio seats and get to the ground. For 3 days when the Uttarakhand flood was causing damage they were in their studios gossiping on the BJP-JDU break-up endlessly and beyond reasonable limits. Yes, for 3 days – June 15, 16, 17 – celebrities like Rajdeep, Arnab, Barkha, Sagarika, Kanwal and their siblings in other news channels didn’t have time for Uttarakhand. When they finally found time they sent some junior reporters to cover the tragedy. CNN-IBN sent Priyali Sur to one spot just to show they were “on ground zero” before they could send others to cover the severe damage caused by the floods. In such a situation there isn’t any doubt that reporting isn’t easy and no reporter should be put in harm’s way. But in the absence of visuals some channels just resorted to fraudulent reporting. Take a look at this image flashed by NDTV on June 18 (Via @unurag):

NDTV just picked up a video from Youtube from June 2010 and used it to report the Uttarakhand floods of June 2013. They were just 3 years late it seems. I have mentioned in the past the fall of TV journalism owes a great debt to NDTV and its “alleged” journalists. Twisting news, unverifiable sources for headlines, spin-doctoring – you name it, NDTV has got it. But this kind of bogus videos/images being used is an outright fraud on the viewers. One person actually tweeted me that he wanted to sue NDTV because he was alarmed by the image. As far as I know NDTV hasn’t even apologised for this serious lapse. They probably had a good laugh at having fooled the people for a while. Well, NDTV isn’t alone! Here’s another one from a lazy news channel called ABPNews (Formerly StarNews, the fountain that spawned Prannoy Roy, Barkha, Rajdeep and Arnab):

 The ABP folks picked up a video of a bus falling off a cliff in Bolivia (Via @_SiddharthRao). Bolivia? The only thing I know about Bolivia is it’s the country which shot dead Che Guevara. ABP must have thought nobody would think of Bolivia to detect their fraud. That’s not all! The fraudsters even scroll their logo across the video to show it was some “exclusive” stuff they were providing the viewers. How clever! Both NDTV and ABP doesn’t seem to learn that Social Media is a watchdog over them and they can’t get away with such frauds anymore.

How sick can these channels get? Even in a time of tragedy they resort to gimmickry and fraud in their rush to cover up their failures of not having original shots of the flood fury in Uttarakhand. They want to bedazzle you with BS! The Twitter friend who was alarmed and annoyed at these bogus pics really wanted to sue these channels. There are air-passengers associations, rail-passengers associations so maybe it’s time for a ‘news-viewers’ association that will indeed take on these news channels for bogus news and images. There’s no reason why they shouldn’t be sued and penalised for their floody frauds.

  

NaMo's Victory - Media's Amazing Disgrace

No matter how good the map of a place and how good a map-reader one is, it’s not the same as being there. This is worse if you have the wrong map or a subjective map. What would you expect of me if I told you I am travelling to Rajasthan but only had the map of a spot in Ajmer? What would you expect of me if I told you I am travelling to Karnataka but only had the map of Cottonpet in Bangalore? Yeah, you’re right! I would probably describe Rajasthan a place full of Dargahs which Ajmer is famous for and Karnataka a place full of Muslim ghettos which Cottonpet is. So when Barkha Dutt travelled to Gujarat all she had was a map of Juhapura in Ahmedabad. Sagarika Ghose travelled to Gujarat too but all she had in her map of the ‘golden corridor’ from Ahmedabad to Surat were Muslim localities. So their stories had nothing but Muslims and their supposed sufferings. Their stories were not about Gujarat. As Stephen Covey puts it in ‘7 Habits’: “Individuals may look at their own lives in terms of paradigms or maps emerging out of their experience and conditioning, these maps are not the territory. They are a ‘subjective reality’, only an attempt to describe the territory”. This is the reason most media celebs fail to read Gujarat.

Even Rajdeep Sardesai, who claims to be born in Ahmedabad, sees mutual fund hoardings dominating the streets in Ahmedabad. This is a lie. He sees what he wants to see and not reality. To my surprise the only media person to have really travelled across various parts of Gujarat and learned about the state and its people is Shekhar Gupta. Surprise, considering his main interest appears to be real estate in NCR. The fact that Gupta travelled widely comes across quite well in his last few articles about Gujarat and also his statements on TV on December 20 during discussions of the election results. Apart from roads, power and other experiences Gupta narrates the story of a widowed woman farmer, Kamalaben, around the Godhra area who is doing splendidly well on her own. She has managed irrigation, gets power, is an expert on cricket like all of us and catches up with the world on her TV. And she’s a traditional Congress supporter who acknowledges Narendra Modi’s work and may have voted differently this time. This is the ‘experience’ I narrated in ‘Gujarat – Breaking rules’; here’s an excerpt:

These people are reading newspapers… They are reading poll analysis… You know, like the ones by Rajdeep Sardesai, Yogendra Yadav, Prannoy Roy or India Today and many other pundits. They are also analysing the GDP figures of all the states, poverty figures of all states…. They sit around and analyse all the figures, manifestos, claims and other stuff put out by the govt and media before they decide who to vote for. No? Well, all that stuff is good for debates and policy making. Ordinary people know it in their gut. Whether the economy is good or bad, they know it in their gut. The same “experience” that draws them back to a restaurant or airline also draws them to a politician or makes them reject him. People feel good at visible development and experience it but they also vote based on the intangible, non-visible experience. The more connected a politician is the better the experience. Narendra Modi knows to connect.

Kamalaben, unlike Rahul Gandhi’s Kalawati, has a different experience. She feels development in her ‘gut’. Narendra Modi connects with her. So, on December 20 when the Gujarat election results started pouring in our TV panellists and anchors weren’t surprised but were hoping Modi’s run would somehow be dented with a lower-margin victory. Collectively, most channels and panellists put up the most pathetic display of their lives in election analysis. The few exceptions were the saving grace. Be it NDTV, CNN-IBN, Times Now, Headlines Today, ABPNews or any other Delhi channel. They simply disgraced themselves. Leading the disgrace, of course, was Barkha Dutt. As results started pouring in and early signs were slow for BJP she remarked “Modi is down but not out”. That is not analysis; that is hope in disguise. Hope that Modi would sink. And she had nothing but more queries for her guests on Muslims in Gujarat.

All the usual suspects were there. Yogendra Yadav was there too. He is still toying with his ‘idea of India’. Yadav and RahulG are similar. Yadav is inventing the ‘idea’ of India and RahulG has ‘no idea’ of India. And all the morons who pass off as anchors had very common questions. They wondered if Modi had built a ‘personality cult’. Umm… let’s see! Barkha, Arnab, Rajdeep (the lowest BAR in Indian TV journalism) woke up early in the morning.  They did their Agarbattis or Namaz and rushed to the studio. They hogged their TV channels from around 7am till 10pm in the night as if no one else exists in their channel. Rajdeep only let up for moments when his Dubiousity Editor, the Social Genius, filled in. And these morons are worried about personality cult? After having made their own channels a pathetic reflection of their pathetic personality, can they even ask this question about anyone on earth? They should listen to Michael Jackson’s “Man in the mirror” at least once a day and once before going to bed. And they all had the usual spinners, from Shabnam Hashmi, Swaminathan Aiyar right down to the Modi-infatuated Aakar Patel. Lately, with the Delhi Gangrape incident some are talking about ‘Chemical Castration’ of rapists. Maybe Aakar Patel could do with a similar chemical castration of his head for excessive obsession with one man.
 

Did we hear Gang-rape? Then we must be in Delhi. From the Shabbos to the Sonias, there is hardly any opponent of Modi who hasn’t wailed about the condition of women in Gujarat. A UN observer might hear them and imagine Gujarat is the worst place on earth for women. And yet, the most atrocities on women come from right under the noses of the GOI and Delhi govt headed by women. It’s on Barkha’s NDTV show that the Imam Bukhari called Shabana Azmi a “naachne waali, gaane wali” woman. A Congress moron, Sanjay Nirupam, repeated a similar offence by calling Smriti Irani a woman who “wiggled her body on TV for money” (translation from Hindi) on ABPNews on Dec.20. It was NDTV who refused to name and shame the Delhi politician who treated their reporter, Sunetra Chaudhary, to sexual innuendos. Take a look at the pic. It has people protesting the horrible gang-rape and near murder of a woman. How many such scenes have you seen from Gujarat? Then the police water-cannons protesters! How many such scenes have you seen from Gujarat? And there’s a small crowd celebrating Modi’s victory which is so offensive to his political and media opponents. The height of media hypocrisy is accepting a man who was indulging in sex in his office chambers in a court complex. The Congress may condone Abhishek Singhvi’s nonsense but is the media obliged to accept him as their guest? In all this, there hasn’t been one word from the Prime Minister on the Delhi rape incident.

Oh hell! Did we say Prime Minister? Now that’s a permanent obsession with our media, isn’t it? Modi is performing or doing things not because they deserve being done but he has PM ambitions. So, like I said in the post about ‘Breaking rules’, the media celebs go around asking every idiot they can find if Modi is fit to be PM. Barkha even drops her Congress garb and invokes the inclusive nature of ABVajpayee to make a point about Modi not being good enough for PM. Not everyone in India is obsessed with whether Modi becomes PM or not. But seriously, these discussions are being held when the PM of the country is a man who has never won a public election. Manmohan Singh is being called a puppet, a poodle and many names. I suppose in the eyes of our media MMS fits the bill as PM for the sole reason that he has no spine. In the context of MMS being “appointed” a PM it is even shameful for these media celebs to be discussing anyone else’s worthiness as PM candidate. Doesn’t matter!

When Mayawati won an election 5 years ago and later Obama won the presidency in the US, our media fanatics were quick to declare she could be the first Dalit PM in India. Not a bad thought but where is Mayawati now? Counting her elephants? So who fits the bill? Rahul Gandhi? The man who knows nothing about India? P. Chidambaram, the media’s darling? The man whose last election is in dispute in a court? AK Antony who, as Defence Minister, has the army in conflict with govt? Why so much worry and distress over who the opposition party’s PM candidate is when they can live with a poodle for a PM? The question of whether Modi is fit to be PM is not so much a question about Modi. It is the fears that lurk inside the media of having a PM who doesn’t give a damn about the media. Modi did not spend a single soiled rupee on the MSM-TV of Delhi in his election campaign. That’s a first in India. The unholy trinity of media can’t find the courage or honesty to admit that a NaMo is any day better as a PM than the trio of Sonia-Rahul-MMS. A trio who can’t string together one sentence without someone helping with them with a script. Sonia even reads her Hindi speeches from Roman scripts. Oh! Did you say Hindi?
 

There! Now the chronic LIARS like Barkha, Sagarika, Rajdeep and their mafia even have a problem with NaMo speaking in Hindi. Whoa! So when Modi addressed his supporters on December 20 in Hindi these bimbos were up in arms suggesting his choice of Hindi meant PM ambitions and he was “addressing Delhi”.  They joined the rank of Idionaire Renuka Chaudhary who asked the same question. Not only are these Idionaires, the new term for idiotic millionaires, chronic liars they are even pathetic at their deception. Well? What did he speak in? Italian? Modi has a history of often speaking in Hindi when he speaks in Ahmedabad. It is also probably because Modi knows that when he speaks in Ahmedabad there’s more national media focus at all times. Now what’s so new about that? Did our media morons forget the Sadbhavna Mission in September 2011? Here’s Modi’s speech on Youtube at the Sadbhavna gathering. Again, what language did he speak in? The language of deception that Barkha and Sagarika use? So what was special about his victory speech on December 20 in Hindi? Nothing! But as with all the other lies about Modi, our media just invented one more.

The media, like Modi’s political opponents, wanted him to lose. Didn’t happen! Sorry, buy yourself another beer at Congress’ expense. Nobody described the media’s feeling than their darling Chidambaram himself. Like a clown he said “we have restricted Modi to under 117 so it’s a Congress victory”. Well, the media would have liked a result even better but the Gujjus didn’t oblige. Two strong NDTV features, Shekhar Gupta and Dushyant Dave, finally accepted that there is a big difference in the way Gujarat is managed and that Narendra Modi does make a difference to the state’s governance. In the end Barkha, Rajdeep and his Dubiousity Editor (She’s funnily designated as Deputy editor) maybe the only ones living in permanent hatred, prejudice and bigotry. Their hatred runs so deep that they let their hatred for Modi get transferred to Gujarat and Gujjus even.

Christians say grace before every meal or thanksgiving. It’s a good practice to thank the Lord for what he gives. They also use the poem ‘Amazing grace’ containing a message that forgiveness and redemption are possible regardless of sins committed for funerals of the dearly departed. That even dead people receive God’s mercy and forgiveness. For some of the criminals in our media whose integrity and conscience is dead I doubt a poem of grace can be written. If they don’t change, someone someday may write the song ‘Amazing Disgrace’ in dishonour of their deeds.
