Uri Notes For Modi

In recent meetings of the G20 and ASEAN, PM Narendra Modi has demanded sanctions against Pakistan and to declare it a “Terrorist state”. These and his actions and statements on Balochistan and POK were very welcome and a departure from past govts. It has also brought attention to Pak violations of human rights and killings in Balochistan and POK. The question now is: What will ModiSarkar do after the latest terror attack in Uri at an army camp? The camp is reportedly one where Jawans changing shifts or postings reside and is more of a make-shift camp. After the Pathankot attack in January 2016 this is what DM Manohar Parikkar had to say:

Let’s get some perspective. In November 2011 NATO forces attacked Pak troops at the Afghan border. This resulted in casualties and Pak responded by shutting down the supply routes for the US to Afghanistan. It was shut down for over six months till Hillary Clinton apologised sometime in 2012. Even a terrorist-state responds with some action to attacks on them, even if incidental. But a massive country like India with a million-plus in the army continues to merely mouth verbal condemnations after every terror attack on India and particularly on our troops in Kashmir. And this is going on for 25 years now.

In 25 years of terrorism that we have faced in Kashmir and other places in India, our GOI has not retaliated even once. We have never crossed the LOC ever. What is the message we have been consistently sending Pak? “Kill as many as you can but we will keep up our verbal condemnation and nothing else”. This emboldens more terrorism and more brazen attacks even on our Jawans. Here is what Modi tweeted about the UPA govt in August 2013:

What is it that you are prepared to do now? What is ModiSarkar going to do? There is no doubt that terror attacks across the board have gone down since May 2014 but wanton attacks on our Jawans as in Pathankot or Uri simply cannot go unpunished or without a price to pay for Pakistan. Here is another taunt from Modi to the UPA in his “Doob maro, Doob maro” speech on Pak terror attacks (Video 0.19 secs):

Let us understand how our Jawans died in the Uri camp. According to TV reports most of the deaths were not caused by their battling terrorists. Most of them were killed in their tents in fires caused by grenade attacks. 17 of them died for nothing. The deaths and injuries might go up. The attack came on a day when a one army unit was replacing another at the LOC. Someone is leaking such information. Who are these traitors? -And all that happens is people like Rajnath, Parrikar and others hold emergency meetings. This is not the language that Pakistan understands which Modi wants to speak to them. A surprise visit to Pak to attend the birthday party of Nawaz Sharif laden with gifts is not the message to a terrorist-state.

There is something more alarming and disgusting as well. The ministers and sidekicks of ModiSarkar are unable to stop hobnobbing with terror-sympathisers like NDTV or the Kashmiri-instigator Barkha Dutt. Even Sajjad Lone was blunt enough to tell the woman her reports cause unrest. Curbing “Terror support services” within India does not take dealing with Pak or terror groups. What is the message you send when parade with people like these?

The blurbs are a sarcastic comment on the dumbness of the Home Minister who blabbers his “Kadi Ninda” after every terror attack. It has already become a comic joke. What every govt at the Centre has demonstrated since the 1990s is that none has the guts to combat terrorism or take punitive measures for deaths caused. ModiSarkar cannot even stop bogus reporting from Kashmir or conflict-zones by Barkha Dutt or other reporters who make hay while the terrorists kill or riots are inflamed. It would be ignorance if the GOI still does not realise that terrorists don’t merely want to kill – they want the media to provide them publicity and propaganda:

Priming! That’s right. Certain elements in MSM “prime” the publicity and propaganda for terrorists through their TV channels or print or even social media. And our Home Minister puts out some of the worst delusional messages, like this one after the Pathankot terror-attack:

Seriously, Pakistan has been exposed many times in the last 70 years and that doesn’t shock anyone. It is the GOI that is being badly exposed as pussy-footed for 25 years when it comes to terrorism. Through his global reach and speeches Modi has definitely turned Pakistan into an international pariah. What exactly does India stand to gain with this terrorist state? He wants world powers to pass sanctions against Pak. He wants to Pak to be termed a terrorist-state. Rajnath Singh grandly states after the Uri attack that Pak is a terrorist state:

And this guy, Ram Madhav, who is constantly chattering with NDTV and Barkha Dutt is another big blabber-mouth of the BJP. The PM promises the terrorists will be punished? How? And what exactly was the “Strategic Restraint” policy? Where do these concocted silly terms come from? The terrorists or fidayeens don’t care a damn if our Jawans die. Does our own GOI care anymore? This stupid loud-mouthed blabbering is the biggest insult heaped on the Jawans killed or the innocents that die:

Both Modi and Rajnath want Pak to be declared a terrorist-state. Who should do that? Some third country? Why is it that India is not willing to take the first step instead of waiting for everyone else to fight for her? Nobody is going to fight for India. Foreign media like AP or BBC still call these terrorists “Rebels” as if they are locals who are revolting against some political issue. Who is ModiSarkar waiting for? The new president of the US? Nobody is going to do it for you. I believe time has come that we put Pak in a hole – first through non-military actions:

# Declare Pakistan a terrorist-state officially and cut off all bilateral ties with a resolution in the parliament. Withdraw the MFN status and cut off all ties.
# Expel the Pak envoy from Delhi and recall our envoy from Pak. Shut down our missions and ask all Indian citizens to return home.
# The Pak envoy is an extreme India-hater who courts love with the separatists who want to break India.
# Ask all Pak citizens to return back. Nobody knows how many are still living illegally in India. Ban all travel by Indians to Pak.
# Ban appearance of all Pak panellists in any Indian media. All they do is abuse India and claim all terror attacks are self-inflicted by India to bad-mouth Pak.
# Make any sympathy for terrorists of any form severely punishable by law.
# Ban all cultural ties and ban all references to Pak by hate-mongers in Bollywood. Make no mistake, Pak-sympathisers even in Bollywood don’t do it accidentally.
# No more visits to Pak by any minister or PM. Not even for SAARC or any multi-lateral summits.
# Get rid of Pakistan from SAARC. Nobody needs this sewer of a country which brings no value to any of the SAARC members. Even Bangladesh blames it for terror-attacks.

What exactly do we want or gain from Pakistan? Nothing! When will we start putting our own interests above this stupid country? We have nothing to gain – not even business of any size is meaningful to us. Enough of “Kadi Ninda” or “Strongly Condemn”. Any military action across the LOC can wait another day. Pakistan does not want peace with India. Only the most delusional Indians think it does. It has declared a 1000-year holy jihad against India. There’s no need for more Jawans or innocent people to die. After Uri if the GOI still goes soft – I’m sure India will be seen as a soft, cowardly country not by others but by Indians themselves

  3. To be fair, it's a little premature to declare that Modi has done nothing about Uri. This is the first time that the PM, and key ministers tweeted "purpetrators will be punished" and not "brought to justice." I'm sure South Block is working on something. Should give them a little time.

  5. Till 2014 we all thought we are a soft cowardly country and hoped things would change once NaMo became PM. But what a disappointment he has turned out to be in dealing with terrorism. He has shown he is no different from UPA govt in dealing with Pak. Today is the defining moment in his and his party's political life, if he sits twiddling thumbs even now he and his party is finished and the first sign of it will be shown in the upcoming elections. 2019 BJP will be back to double digits, doesn't matter who leads the CON party.

Dear Medaicrooks, good blog, but the points you have mentioned are very much a policy decision of the national politics, this might be in NaMo mind, but putting it in your blog makes it open and may reduce the end effect, I am sure you have good contacts with PM better write directly to him so that you can contribute to his action, my request is please advise and suggest directly, your points are worth discussion in MOE, HMO and PMO office, please think and comment @1967Babu.

    1. Mr. Babu, I'm responding unsolicitedly. Ravinar's these blogs seemingly were read by Mr. Modi before elections. He or we are not sure if they are being read and felt. Otherwise (if Modiji & PMO read through with meaning) Barkha Dutt would not be seem accompanying Rajnath Singh in the last visit. If open blogs reduce the effect of policy then be it. Pak open murders and attacks need to be penned in some way and our leadership must be shown the way how public feels.

  8. Hope Modiji and BJP know the pulse of the people. Nationalists are not like CONGI slaves. They vote for principles. If this pussyfooting continue 2019 would be a disaster for BJP. First of all Modiji and BJP should ask their ministers and leaders to shun anti-national media and media persons.Second should take stringent action against Pak, starting with declaring it as a Terrorist state and cancellation of all kinds of relationship with it. Else we will have no alternative other than to keep stay put in our houses on polling day. Development is not an alternative to hard decisions in National interest.

We have our prayers and whole hearted support for Mediacrooks on his crusade against real Media crooks and anti-nationals.

If our PM is serious about India being a Super Power then his and his ministers' words should be supported by legitimate action.

How the hell Pakistan is MFN till date?
Why don't we instead declare Pakistan Enemy State?

The above are 2 things which I think is something which the GoI has not done makes its office bearers, read PM and ministers, look like fools who only blabber hard words and do nothing.

I would want a special session of parliament be called and declare Pakistan a Terrorist State and Enemy State for India.

How can our govt ask for UN to call Pakistan a Terrorist State but their own govt GoI is considering Pakistan as MFN.

During these years, India was led by PMs ranging from Indira, Rajiv, VPSingh, PVNR, Chandrasekhar,DeveGowda, Gujral, Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh & now Modi. But none after Rajiv had a massive mandate like Modi has. This coupled with Modi's reputation, only hope for taking strictest of actions against Pakis is Modi in his current tenure.

However I feel for this particular subject, outburst of impatience and quick fix measures will not help. We voted for the BJP not for overnight transformation. I'm sure our Hon PM has a short term as well as a long term plan for this problem. It takes time...several decades sometimes, perhaps we wont even be alive to see this transformation. Its interesting to see that people are now talking about performance of government and timelines. Someone like me who never followed politics / current affairs is now actively taking interest in these subjects...and I'm sure there are many more like me out there. I think of this as a positive transformation in itself. Our Hon. PM follows his own timetable, we can only speculate what his next move is going to be...

  36. Narendra Modi should be very careful and not tale impulsive action. We are no longer same country when Indira Gandhi decided to participate in Bangladesh war. Entire country was behind her. Now the moment Modi decides to attack Pakistan, opposition parties and the leftist media start second guessing and attacking Indian government. As a rule attacking army sacrifices lives of more soldiers than defending army because the defending army soldiers can occupy strategically advantageous position to kill invading soldiers.

  37. An astounding article and highly pragmatic and stern line of actions suggested but whether our Government do that? Dont thinkso! Even now while I type the comment, the news report is that Modi wants to have an all party meeting and consensus on the line of action to alienate Paksitan to be taken! I dont understand in which world does our PM live in. He expects the Congis,Leftists and other whiners of political parties to support. Already INC has started derogatory tweets. Its time Modiji understands the ground situation and the feeling of the Public. No other nation would have sat idle for more than 25years offering soldiers as Qurbani and just make staetements and hold high level meeting. The elevation of Modiji as PM and appointment of Doval as NSA were supposed to be road map for strong action against Pakistan. But Modiji seems to be too timid! Another point is that if strong action is taken i.e. on the lines brought out inthe article, the political clout of our PM will only rise and not fall down and especially in Punjab and UP. A general sense is that almost all in India want action against Pakistan. Modiji should ignore the shameless congress, commies and other stooges!

As Pakistan is trying to highlight the Kashmir issue, military response would have favoured Pakistan in achieving its objective and would have neutralized the diplomatic effort made by India in isolating Pakistan as India would have been seen as a aggressor. Military response is not a long term solution. I would agree with Ravinar regarding most of the suggestions. Something seems to be happening on the SAARC front, but before we ask others to isolate Pakistan, India should take the first step by blocking all economic ties with Pakistan. Interpretation of visible response varies and need not necessarily be military response. Hope Modi government starts isolating Pakistan by taking tough measures on its part first before sending diplomats.
