Goody Two Shoes

(This is a MaxiPost)

India and Pakistan aren’t exactly at war but they aren’t “bitter friends” either. Still, if the Army Heads of the two countries ran into each other at some international event or an international meeting of military heads it is natural that they will be cordial and courteous to each other. And they may shake hands too. But what would you think of our Army Chief if he is frequently at parties and functions with his Paki counterpart, laughing, joking and having drinks? You would obviously wonder if the guy is serious about his commitment to the Indian Army and Jawans. It may not be the best judgement but people are often known by the company they keep.  A Shekhar Gupta or Bachi Karkaria in the company of Tarun Tejpal wouldn’t alarm us. They are natural mafia-friends. So why would our media go nuts if Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif run into each other at multilateral meets like SAARC or UN? Their obsession with a failed state and its PM can only be “motivated” by forces other than common sense. I believe Pak is a nuisance and hindrance to the progress of SAARC (or to the progress of anything). Let’s read a bit of what TheJaggi has to say:

India needs to downgrade SAARC to a mere talk-shop, and focus instead on bilateral deals with the rest, excluding Pakistan. The only reason SAARC exists is to give the members an appearance of amity; the only reason it cannot be shut down completely is because it gives China an opening to create its own South Asian Forum by excluding India… Pakistan has been a virus in the circuits of SAARC for as long as one can remember. As this NDTV report today (26 November) suggests, in the current summit as many as three agreements - two for improving road and rail connections and a third for integrating the power grids so that SAARC countries can trade in electricity – will be junked as Pakistan has said nein. And Pakistan is placing roadblocks because it wants to force India to start talking and do a deal on Kashmir – which is impossible. Apart from resuming talks without purpose, there is no way to make a deal on Kashmir without further vivisection – which is not acceptable to India”.

Yet, Pak’s “useful idiots” in India like Barkha Dutt, Sudheen Kulkarni, S. Varadarajan & Co and even the high-decibel ranters on TimesNow have reduced every international meet to a Pakistan and Nawaz Sharif chorus. Their juvenile obsession with this Pak nonsense blacks out every other good thing that India may be achieving with other neighbours. There has to be a reason. Some of these “useful idiots” have to be ISI-funded or Fai-fighters:

Even in these comic bursts they aren’t really seeking anything other than to poke holes into the Modi-Sarkar and waiting around the corner for a major gaffe to happen. They were trashing BJP when it was in the Opposition and they are trashing it now when it is the ruling party. Nothing changes. NaMo doesn’t have too many friends in the media (or even in his own party or Opposition). A majority of them are sworn to bitch about him all their lives. They coin terms according to their convenience for veiled and subtle nonsense as this tweet and a response to it shows:

I have added “more” to the tweet above as the word appears to have been missed out. So “Soft separatism” is the new invention. It does not occur to Radiagirl that people can also be absorbed into the mainstream process with the condition of shunning all kinds of separatism. But for her and her media-mafia to thrive, some level of conflict has to exist. This is what Modi-Sarkar has to watch for in the media and I am sure his media cell or whatever is observing this but some of the signals coming from his govt are quite bizarre. There is, however, acknowledgement from some that the media’s out-dated games are not fooling people anymore:

Because the BJP is seen as a party of the Hindutva agenda the media and the Sickulars and their cronies will trash and blow up anything beyond proportions. That’s what they did with the Sadhvi Niranjan episode. After the recent terror-attack in Kashmir in which 11 Jawans were killed Commies like Sitaram Yechury and Rashid Alvi of Congress want Modi Sarkar to start talks with Pak. That is like they want to reward a rapist with a harem. Yechury, member of the #65traitors, says in Parliament “Forget black money, we must bring back PM to India”. As a sarcastic remark that is fine but what do these morons imagine? Let’s see, the BRICS meeting in Brazil was organised by Modi for a joyride? The UNGA was organised by him? The SAARC meeting was organised by him? The ASEAN meet was organised by him? But the anti-India forces will continue to attempt creating untruthful perceptions as they have done for over 60 years. But the BJP has been voted to power, with a clean majority, precisely to change these fake perceptions and do so boldly. They have been voted for change. Decisive change and not Incremental fallacies!

The time for BJP’s ministers and its members to compare their actions or statements on issues with the Congress is over. Congress is the lowest standard of politics and country-management besides being anti-Hindu, a terror-sympathiser and genetically corrupt. And changes need tough decisions. People would be more willing to swallow bitter pills in the first year of a new govt than in the last year. But it seems that everyone from Modi to the last motley minister in the new govt just wants to be “nice”. Or maybe they want to “appear” to be nice to everyone. Just like the Army Chiefs in the first para, it is okay to be cordial and courteous with politicians across the spectrum. After all politicians are a community and need not be enemies. But you cannot frequently sleep with those you should be prosecuting and claim you are bringing change. In particular, politicians cannot be bedmates of media crooks and vice versa. Any journalist who is in bed with politicians is clearly the public’s worst enemy. All the top media celebs have enriched themselves by sleeping with politicians and the establishment. The rouges naturally inspire such cartoons:

If there are BJP ministers or party members blabbering some nonsense every week then there are ministers who go one step further. Arun Jaitley is in some event or forum almost every week. He went on a TV Yatra with his Black Money crap. He then attends a show with P Chidambaram, the guy Jaitley should be prosecuting for various offences (with his son Karthi PC). PC is known as the “friend, father and philosopher” of black money. That’s the company Jaitley keeps. What is the message you’re sending to people? Not just that, he launches a book by a scumbag:

It is alright for a minister to launch a book by anyone – journalist, industrialist or artist. But why would you launch a book by Rajdeep Sardesai, one of the biggest crooks and scumbags in the media? A roll-call of Rajdeep’s significant accomplishments that landed him a Padma Shri by the Congress – Lies about Gujarat 2002, abusing Modi for a decade and abusing the general public along with his partner and being a boot-licker of Congress. Added spice includes – suppressing the Cash4Votes scam on instructions of the Congress, abusing Indians on foreign soil and roughing up a visitor to the PM’s public function in New York. You want to be seen with this scumbag and launch his book? What does it say about your commitment to those who supported you against scoundrels like Rajdeep? Still, a book launch is nothing to scream about but it seems to be a disease with the TV-hugging morons of BJP as this pic shows:

Nothing wrong in Nitin Gadkari sharing a public platform with Prithviraj Chavan but he too wants to be “nice” in launching the book by a scumbag. What is such ass-licking for? No one suggests vendetta or revenge but what are the signals this motley crew of ministers sending out? Every day one of the BJP ministers is on TV with some event or the other. How serious are you about your job? Devendra Phadnavis was hardly CM for a month and the first thing he did was go on a TV Yatra on all the major channels. And he was also busy with media events in his first month with the HT Summit crap with Barkha Dutt. What kind of CM is this? He came with the reputation of a good performer but the moment he is in power he is sending all the signals of a Pappu. Winners get busy with business…. Losers rush to the media”.

Wait! Two ministers launching the same book wasn’t enough. The Johny-come-lately in the Central Cabinet couldn’t resist. Manohar Parrikar too was launching Rajdeep’s book at some LitterFest. Only a failed writer and a failing book would need so many launches over and over again (Rajdeep also had a Patnaik-launch in Odisha). What does it say of a so-called journalist when he wants politicians to launch his book? And what does it say of the politicians when they line up to launch the same book repeatedly? This is nothing but mutual ass-licking of the worst kind. Modi once taunted Sheila Dikshit as a “Ribbon-cutting-CM”. How exactly are his ministers any different? They’re not just busy with ribbon-cutting but these Johnies are cutting the same ribbon over and over again. Parrikar, in particular, cut a sorry figure and attended the silly event on a day that 11 Jawans were killed by terrorists in Kashmir:

It didn’t stop there. Parrikar later made a statement that the fight against terror will continue:

To be continued… ? I am sure Parrikar means well but how is that any different from the statements of the Congis? “Cowardly act, dastardly attack, attack on democracy, India will not bow to terrorists, strongly condemn”… Blah Blah! Statements are fine but people do want to see some action, they are tired of words. Nobody is suggesting go to war or bomb Pakistan. Surely, there must be other ways to retaliate. Stop trade with Pak; evict all Paki squatters from India. Where is the brains trust of BJP with any new idea to combat this menace? This menace has been so chronic that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have an “Anti-terror Ministry” to focus on it. There may be many things being done which may not be available to the public but people do wish to see some action. On TimesNow, the morons keep screaming with a hashtag #IndiaFightsBack. Really? How exactly is India fighting back? 11 Jawans and 9 civilians killed by 6 terrorists. That’s a fightback? A fightback is when a country hits back and pushes terror operators and grinds them to dust. Soldiers dying in “defence” cannot always be a fightback. This jingoism will not help Jawans who keep dying for no reason at the hands of terrorists or Left extremists within India. Modi too praised the dedication of our soldiers but people are asking questions about politicians:

People want change and people want to see a change in public discourse. The BJP spokies are diseased with FEAR. They believe that if they don’t go to silly TV debates their opponents will run away with the issue or score points over them. On the contrary, the more you are seen on TV the more the people’s revulsion for you. And if TV debates held any meaning BJP wouldn’t be in power at the Centre and in the many States they recently won. Choose the debates and appearances carefully. Not all issues need a debate on TV and the BJP ministers and spokies need not feed the nonsense of the media orgasms. This may be a mutual game for politicians and the media but ordinary people do recognise the foolishness:

It’s not just ordinary people on social media; even your humble neighbour-hood Auto-wallah doesn’t miss the point. He reminds himself every minute with a sticker “I hate news channels – Big Liars”:

In a media interaction Arun Shourie says ‘Modi may be an agent of change, but he has to reshape an entire ocean’. A little excerpt from his interaction reads as under:

So the reform has to be much deeper. When people assume office, they forget how deeply the system has to be changed. They get surrounded by an impenetrable fog of self-satisfaction. And media makes the fog more dense. Their photographs are everywhere. The industrialist says you are ‘almighty’s gift to us’. I am told secretaries have started speaking this way. They think change has already come. Our job is to keep them awake”.

In his campaign Modi had stated repeatedly that the difference in the 2014elections was that people not only wanted to throw out a non-performing, corrupt govt but they want the corrupt punished. His govt and his ministers are hardly giving any signs of punishing the corrupt. Nobody is expecting any miracles but at the same time nobody expected the cavalier conduct of Modi’s ministers or their frivolous penchant for the media. Nobody expects Modi Sarkar to be indulging in vendetta but nobody wants the govt to be “nice” to the corrupt.

On a different note, the Opposition agitated in Parliament and Sadhvi Niranjan quickly apologised for her “Haramzada” comment. The Opposition got it too easily without having to agitate some more. The BJP wanted to play the “Nice guys”. Since they got the apology all too easily and tasted blood, the rag-tag Opposition continued to agitate for a censure motion and kept demanding her resignation. They continued the blockade of parliament over the issue. They get the apology and then gloat that the PM is on the “defensive” as does the media. There is no problem with the apology but if you concede too easily then they will want to score even more with their continuing agitation and demands. The stalemate ended with the RS Chairman’s appeal to all MPs to be civil in their language. Absurd drama!

Little Miss Margery Meanwell went through most of her life with one shoe till a rich man gave her a pair. So she went around town telling everyone she now had two shoes. She grew to be a good woman and married a rich widower. She earned the nickname “Goody two shoes”. The BJP had one shoe, the people gave them two. And now they are running all around telling everyone they have a pair. Nobody voted you to be “Goody two shoes”.

  1. A well timed article, Modi should act ASAP in curbing his ministers and spokespersons from licking media morons. Barring Nalin Kohli other spokespersons looks like puppet before media anchors. Nidhi Razdan has guts to say to the face of BJP spokesperson "Don't shout out me" but BJP spokesperson doesn't to point out her biased achoring.

No clue why the hell BJP sends their spokesperson to NDTV and particularly Nidhi Razdan.

If Modi takes BJP supporters for granted, he will end up with same fate as Vajpayee. He is giving a too long rope for these corrupt media channels, BJP supporters remains as irritated as they were in congress rule while watching tv debates.

    1. Apart from Nalin Kohli 2 other BJP spokies who do well are Sambit Patra and Sanjay Kaul, rest are pussies. BJP needs to pick its battles wisely and not go wading into each and every frivolous TV debate. I remember once during UPA Congress party had not sent its spokie to a TimesNow debate so the great Arnab Goswami declared that he will do the honors for the Congress. Will he do the same for BJP, I wonder?

    2. Agreed with Sanjay Kaul, liked the way he gave back to that Vrinda Grover in NDTV.

My point is BJP spokespersons never thrash the anchors, they are content just by attacking their political opponents. But their political opponents are almost toothless and there is no point in beating a dead snake.

More venomous snakes are the likes of Bharkas, Razdans, Ketkars, Naqvis, Sardesais, Sagarikas etc etc, but sadly BJP spokespersons (barring Nalin and Sanjay) suck up to these media morons.

Watching these morons' programs makes me feel that we are still governed by Sonia and her stooges and not by Modi's BJP.

    3. Damn, I had very high regards for Parrikar, how on earth he released Rajdeep's book? That bas**** came all the way here to US and manhandled a guy for simple reason he was a BJP supporter and these shameless BJP ministers are in releasing spree of that moron's book.

Understandable Arun Jaitley doing so, never expected this from Parrikar and Gadkari.

    4. Off the topic, if Modi approves Genetically Modified seeds/food he will definitely face lots of irks from BJP supporters, how on earth his govt can take such a decision?

Hope RSS stops Modi from doing this. Did I miss RaviNar's tweet about GM? Would like to hear your opinion on GM.

    5. Fully agree. Tweeple didn't have much expectation from Arun jaitley who is like a Congress minister in Modi Govt. But, a good administrator Manohar Parrikar becoming like this is pathetic.

Hope, more ministers will go Nirmala Sitaraman and Suresh Prabhu who are sincerely doing their job. I think, there is a need for one more dedicated RSS person as a minister Modi govt (such as Ram Maadhav).

    6. I had to say this, Sambit Patra is no1 pussy. He, Aman Sinha, ShainNC, Naramshima Rao are disgrace.

I'm typing this while watching Sambit in Bharka's program, moron he is sitting there as a lame duck, Bharka is slapping him repeatedly and he keeps on licking her feet.

    7. Gladly BJP spokespersons are waking up, today Sidhardhnath Singh asked the moron Nidhi Razdan directly "you as an anchor why aren't talking about other conversions in AP, north east, why only questioning about re-conversion". That shameless moron deflected the question though, but still it is refreshing to see BJP spokesperson to corner that idiot woman. Some BJP spokie should ask a direct question to these Bharkas and Nidhis when did they cover conversion to christianity and islam as vehemently as now they cover 'ghar wapsi' and should let these morons go away without answering the question.

How many times would BJP spokies had to clarify Mohan Bhagawat's "All Indians are Hindus" comment? Bharka and Nidhi ask this question again and again. I remember Meenakshi Lekhi bashing Bharka or Nidhi for asking this question, saying "People who question this statement are either illiterate or ignorant of the facts".

But still this question is asked and BJP spokies keep repeating the explanation.

Bring it on BJP spokies, thrash those biased morons who spits anti hindu venom day in day out.

  2. Agreed India cannot attack Pak, China. But why not attack Bangla Desh? Modi shamelessly invokes, chhapan inch ka sina, Shivaji Maharaj, Loh Purush Sardar Patel etc to win national and state elections. So why cannot he act against even Bangla Desh, Sri Lanka? Is there a trader connection? Some traders might have vested interests in not rocking the boat.

    1. we need not attack any body. we only have to ensure that we are not attacked either through terrorists, infiltrators, obstructive opposition, media morons and Trojan horses inside party and government. NAMO got votes because he raised hopes that he and his government will have a nonsensical, tough approach to all these attackers. This has to be demonstrated yet. One action can be to take stringent action as per rules and regulations, against those who are not allowing parliament to function and get the government business done. This will be appreciated by a vast majority of people though MSM crooks who always counted loss to national ex-chequer daily at the prime hours when parliament was blocked during congi rule. This will show NAMO in his element as a different person who means business as far as governance is concerned. Second action will be as the blog suggested to choose who whom and when to talk to media. The see presence of BJP ministers in RS book launch functions is really disappointing if not insulting to may voters who voted having NAMO's approach to these media in their mind.

Media is not the problem, the problem is vested interests of trading community and Pak, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, China. Trading community has been pushing for MFN status from Pak since the days of MMS.

    4. We should attack Bangladesh and Sri Lanka because they are killing our people. Sril Lanka is killing Tamils, while Bangladesh is sending terrorists and Bangladeshis refugee saboteurs into India. This is not a recent development but has been going on for decades. Let us know what 'stern measures' you would like to suggest? Holding SAARC meetings, approaching UN, cultural exchanges, sports, Aman ki Aasha, what exactly you mean by 'stern action.'

It released tamil criminals aka drug traffickers in at least 2 recent incidents. So why should we bother about what srilanka is doing about its citizens at this point of time? dont we have enouugh problems of our own?

    8. i meant to say "It released Indian tamil criminals aka drug traffickers in at least 2 recent incidents."

    9. Pakistan too was "killing its own Hindus" in East Pakistan. India proudly claims it stopped the massacre with its intervention in 1971. Why a different yard stick is now being used in case of Tamils? Why did we bother about the Hindus that Pak was killing at the time? Why Tamils are being demonised for expecting India to take the same steps that India took in Bangladesh? No country can claim right to eliminate a section of its population. It is against Geneva Convention on Human Rights accepted by all nations including Sri Lanka. We had "our own" problems in '71 too. Those problems do not exempt us from doing what is right and proper, in our own interests and in the larger interests of the international community.

    10. @Vivek,

Whether or not "NaMo has become puppet of trading community", but you definitely think like an Aaptard or some sort of tard. You want Modi to attack Bangla Desh, which is reigning in all anti-India hardcore Jamait and Terr0r elements? That too, when India friendly Sheik Hasina is doing her best to protect both Bangladesh and India from these monsters when one of our Indian CM openly supporting Terr0rists for vote bank politics in West Bengal?

And you also want Modi to attack Sri Lanka for befriending with India under Modi? For releasing TN fishermen as a goodwill gesture?

What are you smoking by the way? Are you making sense to yourself?

      Get well soon.

      Delete
    11. Dude do you really expect Bangladesh to reign in anti-India elements? What is in it for Bangladesh? Why should they? What makes you think they are not just playing about like the Pakistanis with their jihadis? India friendly, Sheik Hasina, lol, who told you ? The media crooks. And you fell for that? What goodwill, Sri Lankans killed thousands of Tamils right in our backyard. The whole world knows it, but we continue to be in denial. Because that suits us, that suits trade and good relations.
Nations don't exist to earn goodwill from neighbouring countries, they exist to fight for the rights of their citizens. Tamils have a right to expect India to attack Sri Lanka and secure the safety of their people. We ALL have. What are the armed forces there for? To occupy the lands of states like Maha or to occupy land of Pak, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka?

  3. What NDTV and other channels especially english media did during NDA's india shinning campaign was that they tried to deamonize vajpayee goverment and tried to find problems in every corner of the country during NDA's regime. Everything is not hunky-dory even in the most developed counties of the world. if u r bent on finding faults with bjp and want to ignore all the wrong doings of the congress then it is upto u. Why can't the english media see anything wrong with the congress is what beats me.

May be some day NDTV and other english channels will tell us about the wrong doings of congress as well. NDTV will continue to downplay congress's glaring incompetence, arrogance and corruption.secularism is exceedingly important but congress's talk of secularism is drivel and nothing else. NDTV will continue to b soft on congress and will keep implying that people only in bjp are a bad lot.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Everytime i tune into ndtv i see them complaining about something wrong in a bjp governed state, by watching ndtv it seems like everything is perfect in congress governed states. Let us count from today how many reports ndtv does about the atrocities and injustice in congress governed states and let us compare that number with the number of reports ndtv does against bjp govrned states. In the past NDTV has done very few reports against congress governed states and a lot of reports against bjp governed states although congress was in power in a lot of states

This trend of complete bias in favour of congress party by ndtv and some other media houses is deplorable and dangerous for the country and democracy.

  5. Regarding death of soldiers, i need to add few points:
As mentioned by you this govt has not shown any change.Same utterances."we ll fight..they are cowards. nation will not forget their supreme sacrifice..etc".. what we expected was paradigm shift in approach.. after all, the lives lost and pain associated with it are immeasurable. the photo of kids near their martyred soldiers made me cry..
The govt needs to bring new strategy to fight terrorists without sacrificing valuable human life. are our soldiers equipped with enough bullet proof jackets.. or in this 21st century, is the soldiers running towards them is the only way? alternatives like using mini drones, remotely operated, or using a gas which makes all in the area faint temperorily and with exclusive masks our soldiers move and eliminate them need to be explored.. how long we keep on sacrificing soldiers who after all, a caring father, caring husband, son to a beautiful family.
may be modi himself need to look into it personally. otherwise, present army top cops, who are grown in elite culture will brief with same old kind of story of bravery and sacrifice, bla bla bla..
we need new methods to fight terrorists without sacrificing our soldiers.. need of the hour.

Bullet proof jackets are meant only for our Politicians and not for our Jawans...Now using gas I think last it was Russia which used it when a Theater was hijacked by Chechen rebels, now to do Russia I think we need to wait for next one more century, current establishment/Indian Politicians don't have that guts to do so.

What surprised everyone is Modiji dissing out Army in public to gain Human Right mileage just to win election which is not good sign of any good politician/leaders of course never did it and should not do it to demoralize Army.

If we see other than being clean and IITians Manohar Parikar has nothing to showcase achievement as a CM of Goa. What I see he is just a hand picked politician by lobbyists/defense Manufacturer for supplying and purchasing Arms from them.

If Ex-Employee of Price Water House Cooper Nirmala Sitaraman can be Commerce Minister why V K Singh is denied of being defense Ministry?

Its time BJP learnt few lessons from their own actions. In the run up to this huge victory they did loose some possible wins due to delayed action. Smriti Irani and Maha electons where case in point. I remember Ravinar strongly recommending to sever ties with SS long before it happened.
I for one strongly believe that even the rajya sabha should be dissolved. Why provide a back door entry to those who couldn't win the confidence of the people directly.
This huge win of Modi is not due to political obligations that he had received from the D4, it is because of people's faith in his past actions and hope in his words for the future.
Like someone in the twitter said, "People didn't vote for Vajpayee, they voted for Modi." Giving credit to Vajpayee for everything is fine. But, you continue to do what Vajpayee did, you will continue to get what people gave him.

  18. Ravinar ji,
Spot on and wonderfully worded article, hope the BJP team looks into this and acts. If they dont act now, then in 2019 they will have the same fate Vajpayee government had, they have not acted on the congress scams and gave room for congress to regroup. People require action and not actions TV channels. These media pressitutes will never give credit to BJP for any good they do and always try to find fault with them.

  19. Each Modi supporter is in a dilemma. Is six months enough to judge the performance or should more time is required for some effect to be visible?

    ReplyDelete

    1. That's not the question. Changes will be visible after a while if not visible already. Point is, whether they will be changes forced/orchestrated by govt. or happen by default. For ex., oil price fall may improve economy but that's no credit to the govt. What is govt. doing to improve things? Modi needs to make the effect visible and more importantly make sure people are able to link the visible effect with a govt. policy not just good luck.

  20. Excellent and hardhitting as always. Earnestly wish this article reaches Modji, since after becoming PM he’s now surrounded by so much fog!!

Looking at his Cabinet’s performance of last seven months, barring a few exceptions, all of them are “Goody-two shoes” (what an apt term!!) and media-huggies. Rather than let their performance speak, they are more interested in speaking out of turn and provide sustenance to the media which is out to get them. Strange bunch of Masochists!! The most obvious of this lot, as you have scathingly pointed out with instances and facts, is Arun Jaitely. It is puzzling, why Modi entrusted the most important portfolios of Finance, Defence (even as temporary measure) and Corporate Affairs, given AJ’s history of long and cosy relationship with media. If you look at all the worst episodes of media during UPA’s rule, AJ has been the common factor who acted as the saviour. Till date, AJ has not deigned to respond to allegations of him not raising Radia Gate in Rajya Sabha to save Barkha Dutt. Apart from all the valid reasons listed by you for any BJP Minister not to be seen with a proven thug like Rajdeep Sardesai, let alone release his stupid book, it’s bizarre that AJ willingly overlooked RS backstabbing BJP during Cash for Votes episode.

Now it’s come to light AJ is also close to Shekar Gupta (AJ letting out his official residence for Shekar Gupta’s son’s marriage function). Though undesirable, AJ’s cosiness with media till he was in Opposition was his personal affair and his party. But now as Cabinet Minister heading a Department which is responsible for investigating Black Money, slush funding etc., his cosy relationship with the dregs of media scum is alarming and downright unethical. Against this background, AJ just doesnt inspire confidence that he will act against cases like NDTV-PC Money laundering, National Herald or even Shekar Gupta's shenanigans in CWG.

Modji need to be aware of this FACT – people gave clear majority to BJP due to their belief that Modi being an outsider to the Lutyens Mafia, he will act against their corruption. But AJ’s actions or or lack thereof as FM till now, run contrary to that mandate. Best part is, failure to uproot the Lutyens Mafia and its consequences will make people turn against Modi and AJ will not lose anything. If not for his own interest, I hope Modiji will do course correction considering our national interests.

  23. The only explanation I can think of is that BJP believes that it rode on the sympathy factor rather than promises made and showing 'other chick' will earn them more sympathy. At least in the case of Sadhvi issue, it seems like BJP came ahead of opposition in sympathy factor.

  24. The most important thing to take away from this article is the line: "His govt and his ministers are hardly giving any signs of punishing the corrupt". In fact they seem to enjoy the company of the corrupt and crooks. While the suckularists are busy re-organising and planning, BJP seems intent to shoot itself in the foot. Before the elections, this was a common comment on NaMo's tweets/FB posts : "We are with you sir". Nowadays, I see people tweeting "Enough with this tourism" or "Where is the 56in Chest?". When they see BJP fools hobnobbing with the MSM crooks, or the dilly dallying, they are bound to get angry.

  25. Let's accept it, none of us actually knows the real reason why the anti-Hindu, vehemently-leftist, closet-Islamist media mafia is not tamed by the new government. There have to be some power equations which the media charlatans enjoy, otherwise RSS would not have allowed this anti-national, con-business to continue. While CNN-IBN has been sanitized to an extent (after RIL takeover and the departure of the Muckdesai couple), NDTV, Timesnow, ABPLive continue to be as unbearable as before.

Why can't BJP squeeze the funding of these filthy propaganda houses, Ravinar, if you know the hidden reasons, can you bring it to the fore? I can guarantee on one thing: no BJP supporter will be offended if the media mafia is screwed hard. In fact, that's what we want.

  27. AJ seems to be the guy in charge and the real power behind the throne. He is in charge of two crucial and powerful ministries. Modi is currently just making speeches full of tall promises. Will he turn out to be Vajpayee mark 2? Is he overwhelmed and has become soft by the adulation and success? If Modi doesn't heed the alarm bells from his well wishers, he will the biggest loser. Wake up Modi, time is passing by and 2019 will be here soon. The dustbin of history or glory, your choice. The enemies and traitors are recovering lost ground day by day. Hope he gets the message.

  28. Ravinar, I discovered your blog a few months ago and have been a regular reader ever since. I would rate this as the best article I have read so far. One hopes it reaches Mr Modi too!

All the best for your blog!

  29. It is important that Modi allows himself to behave like a "Dabang" a strong economic performance coupled with strong nationalist, pro Army stands will hold him good stead. Joker MMS too gave good eco performance in UPA 1, whatever may be the causes.

People who supported him on Social Media were individuals not a paid army. The support can wither away quickly too. Every 3-4 months he can do one act to keep nationalists happy and keep on focusing on eco / infra issues.

My guess is he is allowing a free run to AJ for some time only in lieu of his support to PM.

Hope he finds his dabangness again and handle media better

  30. Yeah, overall BJP's 6 month record is disappointing. The rich and powerful seem to have got a foot in into the ministries. Look at how excise duty was raised after TheJaggi wrote an article about it. Carrying forward policies of the Congress govt is downright stupid and a stab in the back of the people who voted for them.
As for these soft separatists, I have a strong feeling that a "Fai" effect is involved here and some people in the media are getting paid to write such articles.
I wonder if one can file a RTI with the IB for information on "Fai" effect in the media.

  32. It's high time, Shourie and Swamy are included in the Cabinet. Parrikar and swaraj are the only 2 of Top 4 , that look competent for their ministries. Aj is downright in Bed with Congis and He will bring disrupte ti BJP sooner than anyone can expect and Rajnath is soft and not as decisive to be HM . But Finance is too important a portfolio to be given to AJ. May be Modi needs to settle down in Delhi and then hand over to someone like Shourie or swamy.

    1. Agree. I suspect some drawing room PM aspirant high ups in the BJP want Modi to stumble so that they can claim the PM's chair. The irony is that Modi got them beyond their wildest dreams of 282 seats, while they were dreaming of maximum 160 and tie ups with garbage like Nitish. They want to usurp Modi's hard won achievements. People like Kanchan Gupta, Ravinar and Tavleen should warn Modi about these saboteurs.

This is true all over the world. We are sitting on the fence types. We do not take a stand. This will not do. We have to push back and regain our lost values. I am convinced ,in this age only Santana dharma will save us.

  35. Feel BJP is not managing the media properly including its local units with respect to right wing (individual elements) for they are raising issues, which can effect is prospects in elections, and RSS should prevail in keeping its ambitions on future of India behid wrap and play the cards leisurely in a systematic manner. Moreover some of the BJP ministers including Jaitely seems to have all soft corner for this Times Now or NDTV ....

  36. When will bjp understand that NDTV is the number 1 enemy of BJP. Most indian media especially Prannoy roy (owner NDTV) is trying his level best to make bjp lose in jharkhand and kashmir. I think Prannoy roy and Radhika roy have not slept peacefully since modi has won. Some others who have lost sleep since bjp has won are congress slaves like Shekhar gupta, Barkha dutt, Rajdeep sardesai, Ravish kumar and everyone at NDTV, Indian express, Tehelka and hindustan times.

  39. Cool, cool and cool!

Both foes and friends, though for different reasons, want to Modi act dictator. Thus prove Modi detractors right.
Modi is no fool. He will not take any controversial step until he gets enough hold. Long way to go. Rajya Shabha, States, South, Economic Growth and above all sideline blacklegs Jaitely, Shushma etc. No free hand until mid or late 2016.

Even bigger priority is prevent repeat of 1980 and 2004, congress should never bounce back. Touching VADRA or scams will only help congress revival.

Do not forget even judiciary is unpredictable and throw too many spanners in government actions. Judiciary too is plagued with typical bane of the country. Sickulars, activists, progressive thinkers, non-believers etc etc. If nothing else it can grant easy bails and prolong the cases. And stop every important act in the name of ecology, equal justice blah blah blah.

  42. Perfectly expressed.

BJP needs to learn from Congress about how to be thick skinned, how to do good to its supporters and how to destroy its opponents. BJP has the typical Hindu attitude of being too sensitive to criticism and wanting to appear to be the proverbial studious first-bencher.

They need to strongly support all their ministers and friendly journos and to treat Rajdeep etc like total scum of the earth.

I was happy to hear Venkaiah Naidu's speech yesterday. He not only showed the Congi's their place but also defended Smriti Irani admirably. That lady has been criticised for all wrong reasons and the Govt needs to strongly stand by its people.

BJP also needs to realise that no amount of buttering the sickulars is ever going to help. They will always remain an enemy, because they are enemies in principle, not based on the situation. Appeasing them too much may cost BJP its core support!

  43. I have stopped reading yours for some time. But this article of yours pictures you in a brighter light, showing the man that you are. Great my dear Ravi. Jaitly and such other characters are a drag on the ministry. These characters put Modi 100 years behind. Don't we have people with sterling character who can perform. The type of BJP fellows who appear in Times now and similar channels are 3rd rates who have no idea of what they talk.It is more than 6 months since I watched any of these stupid English channels. Don't we have people of quality. Don't we have people with character? Why should Modi depend upon people like Jaitly,Swaraj and others. Oh, it is time he gets rid of these characters and bring in dynamites into action.

  44. This govt needs some tight bottom smacking to jolt them out of their stupor. They better get used to being in power soon. Get your arses off working rather than putting foot in mouth three four times every day. A rump of an opposition is all what it takes to disorient such massive mandate? I as an supporter am started feeling a little disillusioned with them. Their Hindutva agenda also is being carried forward in such pedestrian manner that they are making a laughing stock of themselves. They need to learn a few tricks from missionaries and Tablighi Jamat how to carry out slick and silent evangelist activities. But before everything else prove your governance credentials.
