For India to Progress, Congress Must Dissolve

Products and brands have a life-cycle. Commonly this cycle progresses as development, introduction, growth, maturity and decline. The pioneer of mosquito repellents in India, the Tortoise brand (popularly called ‘Kachchua Chaap’) is still famous but dead. The toothpaste ‘Promise’ is now mostly given in small bathroom packs in hotels. Ambassador car is a dead brand that is being artificially sustained. The first low-cost one-rupee pen in India, Comfort, is dead. The first famous courier service in India, Skypak, is now into other businesses or exists in other forms. Where’s Daewoo? Across the world brands have been killed by businesses either because they have outlived their purpose and value proposition or they couldn’t survive innovations and competition.

India became independent in 1947 but there is still no reason to believe we have freedom. The British left and the Congress party replaced them. Ever since, it has been downhill. The tragic fact is that for a vast country like ours we borrowed a parliamentary system of a tiny island. We borrowed from the US Constitution but borrowed the workings of a small island. A terrible lack of vision! In the US there are no ‘ceremonial’ offices. The US too had many political parties in the beginning. The Whig Party, The Federalist Party, The Democratic-Republican party and the Independents. Most of the Presidents initially came from these parties or were independents. After about 60 years of the US independence these parties disappeared and then came the Republican and Democratic parties as we know today. If one looks up US politics they too have a whole lot of regional parties but at the national level two parties dominate the law-making and governance. After 65 years we must finally accept that the Congress in India needs to die. When the Nixon hearings were conducted, the Senate committee comprised members of both parties which finally led to his resignation because of the US Supreme Court. In India, the Congress is capable of even turning a JPC into a scam.

We have all heard of huge elephants unwilling to shake off the chains that bind their leg. The elephant can easily do so but was bound to it since it was a baby and lives in the belief that it can’t shake off that chain. This is true of the Congress party in India too. The baby elephant that India was in 1947 was chained to the Congress party. 65 years later the huge elephant is still tied to that chain. Mahatma Gandhi wanted the party dissolved immediately on independence but those who replaced the British became the British. In the early 1970s one of the first movies to portray the corruption backed by violence in politics was Gulzar’s “Mere Apne”. It reflected the direction in which politics, largely led by Congress alone, was headed. Corruption, violence, destroying democratic institutions, electoral malpractices and a huge black economy all came from the fountainhead called Congress.

In a history of the Congress party full of bad governance, unfulfilled promises and intolerable corruption the latest attempt to cover up the Coalgate scam is as bad as any crime ever experienced in a democracy. Not since the Mughals or the British has the nation been plundered so badly. When the Emergency was declared in 1975 some newspapers carried black borders in protest and some crawled. Since then, much of the media not only became slaves of the Congress party and the government they have even become traitors of the people they were supposed to serve. What else explains the frequent clean-chits and “honest” title defence of Manmohan Singh? A PM who has watched lakhs of crores worth of scams happening right under his nose was being defended by our media. Shameful!

It’s more than the massive corruption. Every institution of India’s democracy has been corrupted and misused to serve the security and comfort of the party and one family – The Gandhis. Everyone in the Congress should be wondering how they became such slaves. It even provides for special security for Robert Vadra, Priyanka Vadra and exemptions for them from screening during air travel or travel anywhere in the country. This country has been reduced to those that have tin-pot dictators like North Korea, Syria and Zimbabwe. I wonder if even Cuba does so badly. The off-springs of this very Congress who broke away, like the NCP or the Samajwadi Party have continued the same standard of corruption and misrule. Not just that, they have completely destroyed any concern and respect for ordinary men and women. They have turned the common people into specks of dust to be just wiped off the desk very frequently.

In the name of fake secularism the Congress party and its supporters have divided the nation through religious reservations and privileges. Every policy of the party smacks of vote-bank politics and nothing more. Instead of moving towards an equitable society and more towards a uniform law for all the Congress has now even set up Sharia courts. Rahul Gandhi campaigns in Karnataka and talks about corruption. With what face does this non-performer talk about corruption? His own personal integrity or commitment to public work is suspect going by his poor attendance and participation in parliament. The same goes for the PM who promises a corruption-free state in his insipid campaigns. All of this, while they represent the most corrupt party in the entire democratic world! What does it say about the slavery of Congress and its supporters who still live a life of slavery to one family which is protected like a royal household? Sonia Gandhi enjoys all the trappings of a queen without the slightest responsibility or accountability for any deeds of the govt or her party.

What exactly is Sonia Gandhi’s greatest contribution to India? It has to be that coterie called NAC, an extra-constitutional body that is a private club which drafts laws for the country. Each member of this coterie is from some NGO or the other which has become extraordinarily wealthy through funding and donations from mysterious sources. Most members of this coterie were rewarded for their malicious political campaign against opponents. This is the level to which the Congress has brought politics in this country to. The scams, of course, are too long to list and each time the party members have only acted to cover up the truth and protect the culprits. Naturally! It was rightly pointed out by someone that the first purpose that the Congress party sees while being in power is to accumulate enough money to fight the next election. Everything else is secondary. And then the queen talks about ‘zero tolerance’ of corruption while the ‘Prince of fails’ mocks the nation by stating “power is poison”.

In response to the SC observations on CBI on Coalgate on April 30 the Congress spokie Janardhan Dwivedi claimed that his party has always accepted court rulings. This is one big lie. It is indeed a court ruling in Indira Gandhi’s case overturning her election that led to the imposition of Emergency in this country. That’s a black deed unmatched in any democratic country during peace time. Following this, IndiraG went on to pack the SC with judges of her choice and tinkered with the Constitution like it was some baby’s toy. This is how the Congress members forget their own history and brazenly claim they have respect for the law and Courts. It is also a party where a Gandhi is a lifetime president. Democracy does not course in the veins of Congress. A party that does not have or respect democracy at home cannot respect democracy in the nation.

In the attempt to keep its stranglehold on power at any cost the party has destroyed almost every democratic institution in this country. Judges and investigators have landed themselves top postings immediately on retirement for being slaves to the party. Scheme after scheme has been named after some member of the Nehru-Gandhi family as if everyone else in India was just an also-ran in her history. This is neither the democracy nor the freedom that people who fought the British dreamt about. In all of this the media continued to treat the PM and Sonia Gandhi like Gods. They proclaimed from rooftops that MMS was “honest and uncorrupt” as if angels from heaven had whispered in their ears. Shameless editors kept giving these certificates till the Supreme Court finally burst their bubble in the Coalgate case with the bogus affidavits by CBI. The Congress has not only been brazen in defending its corruption and misrule but has now shown the audacity to dupe even the Supreme Court of the country. A shameless doormat of the party passing off as a spokie called the SC "paranoid" on TimesNow on April 30 because of its observations.

NDTV, CNN-IBN, Headlines Today, Times Now and all other media outlets have become spineless puppies that do not have the guts to address a single question to the Gandhis. They hurl the choicest abuses at all other political parties and leaders. In the case of CBI’s Coalgate affidavit Barkha Dutt even states she cancelled a discussion because no Congress spokie was willing to be on the channel. Is that how news media is supposed to operate? You would have a discussion or analysis only if the criminal is represented? Are you some court of law by yourself? In contrast all the media outlets provide a platform for the likes of Sheila Dikshit to shed buckets of tears over her own incompetence in handling Delhi as if her sainthood was tainted. The misuse of CBI was evident in many cases and yet the media maintained silence. It seems the only truthful media that is still left standing is the Supreme Court. And I have said this before too.

A company kills a brand at an appropriate time in its life-cycle. India too needs to kill the Congress party which has long outlived its purpose. It doesn’t mean killing the party’s members. There are many good members in the Congress who must free themselves from slavery and reaffirm their true independence and freedom. They must join other parties or create a new formation completely different from this Congress. Not suggesting that other parties are clean but the Congress has been and will remain the Fountainhead of Corruption or the “Congotri” of corruption. Symbolically, other parties should also remove the word ‘Congress’ from their name if they have it, like the NCP. Corruption in the air, land, water, fire and earth as someone put it (2G, irrigation, coal, land). Every reform or policy that the Congress makes has a backdoor or a window that provides for massive loot. There is hardly a single policy or action that the party and the UPA have taken in the last 9 years that has not been associated by a scam and loot. That’s not all. Caning citizens, failure in foreign relations, poor handling and religious politicisation of terrorism, tolerating separatists, discriminating between states, demonising opponents, demoralising the police and the army, farmer suicides, stagnant economy, inflation, unemployment, fake cases against political opponents, constantly appeasing enemies of the state and even poor vigil of our borders. Never has this nation felt so sunk.

No country in history has ever progressed with bad governance and excessive corruption as partners. None! The Congress suffers from this twin ailment since decades. Its survival is detrimental to the progress of India. Death is the only cure. The corrupt media protects this corrupt party and its bigwigs. Someone has coined the slogan “Congress-mukt Bharat” like the slogan for “Gutka-mukt rajya”. I wholeheartedly agree with it. For India to progress, Congress must die. And when the Congress dies so will the corrupt media and democratic institutions can limp back to normalcy! It may not dramatically end corruption or evil but it is the equivalent of pulling down the statues of Stalin or Saddam and getting rid of their ideologies. There can at least be a new start.

  1. Outstanding write-up..... Each word is well measured and impactful. 2014 is going to be a final nail in the coffin that will reduce INC to a regional party.

  2. Excellent Ravi. I fully agree that Congress should disappear. But, there is too much at stake for the leaders of Congress to take steps to dissolve it. It has no doubt a brand name and all corrupt, criminals and goonda who venture in politics find easy to join and progress. It has very well set up system of making money, I.e. voter, ration cards for illegal Bangladeshi migrants. Just go to any District or local office of AICC and you will find hoards of these waiting.

Madam Indira started the wholesale corruption, institutionalised it. The Idiots voted her back and back again, now India is paying price.

The only way Congress will go is when all Psuedo Gandhis die or killed same time in one hit, by act of God or men. Then there will be great struggle for power and it will implode.

In the mean time, it is high time to put all Psuedo Gandhis behind barbed wire or send the to Gitmo.

    3. It is bitter truth and paradigm shift --- what to blame for all the trouble in India - why it is also happening around the world? - bone cringing pain as to what we have come to, just checkout http://www.intmensorg.info/mason1.htm, mason title is nonchalance (Sonia's father was a mason / freemason), but has the depth no one of us can fathom.
http://www.masonindia.org/ - has come to India of late but what is its history and purpose? Christianity per-se is not to be blamed as it is used by these orgs as does other plausible religions or cults or gatherings which "can" give it a life support in any manner that seems just personifi-able and okay.

http://www.masonindia.org/print_media.htm, Q&A is more of nosedive - maybe indian SM will take cue and paraphrase "mason/freemason" as well, but the learning will be steep, maybe on the way gagged of freespeech.

  4. Regarding this honest MMS: About 20 years ago My father who was working for a PSU that time, was nominated in the 20 member team supposed to visit UK for some seminar/training sponsored by the PSU.

At the 11th hour, a recommendation letter from MMS was received in that PSU's headquarter and my father [with no Political Connection] was dropped from the 20 odd members team and another gentleman (with acquaintance to MMS) junior to my father was nominated for the UK visit.

Going to UK is not a big deal or accomplishment, I have worked and lived half round the world since last 20 years and it really does not matter, but the objective of mentioning the above is to bring the reality of MMS as known to me since last 20 years.

Not many would believe the above and the purpose of writing the above is not to make them believe, but this is just an example of the political interference is a tiny insignificant routine scheme of things in a PSU and the deep rooted corruption. How merit has been systematically ignored in our country, and the result is before our eyes.

I have known MMS to be corrupt since last 20 years, and was wondering how media and intellectuals are branding him as an honest knight in the shining armour.

    2. During those charged years of Indian liberalization Yashwant Sinha commented on MMS's policy initiatives. He said that MMS is perusing exactly opposite policy than what he was preaching as a bureaucrat. MMS worked under Yashwant Sinha as bureaucrat and he has first hand experience of MMS. Yashwant Sinha just stopped short of calling MMS a dishonest in those days. When Rao offered him Finance Minister's post and told him the need of liberalization the parrot MMS sang the song of liberalization. When Sonia Gandhi offered him the post of Prime minister he converted himself in to Sonia's socialist puppet. He is simply an opportunist. He is not the person of any principal of conviction. All these years since 1991 he and Chidu are fooling Indian people and slavish media is supporting them in crating the impression.

I am now absolutely sure that selecting the candidates for Civil Services are also done by this crooks to help their ideology.
Most of the deserving candidates shows the doors to fill their people in the bureaucracy.

    4. I do agree, nvltec! i was in a PSU myself and know how middle level mgrs are sidelined if they do not tow the bosses, even though they may be the most knowledgeale, efficient and effective, just because they do not bend to boss' will.

My wife is in a research institute of CG. She gets calls from Very senior officials that they are sorry they can not do any thing though she is the first to deserve the promotion. It happened not once for her, but 2-3 times.

Once bureaucracy started bending down to politician's will, the ethics and morality of the Govt. took a nose-dive. We all must respond with a responsible VOTE - there seems to be no other lawful way for now.

  8. Somehow you overlooked the contribution of the commies, CPM in particular. CPM is, in fact, the MOST SHAMELESS party that would align with the likes of Yadavs, Karunas, Paswans, etc., AND give outside support to #MafiaCongI all in the name of preventing communal BJP from coming to power. The deceased 'Shakuni' Surjit called #MafiaCongI 'LESSER EVIL' and my God, #MafiaCongI proudly accepted o/s support! Imagine what would happen to a begger, if he goes about begging women saying "You are lesser whore. Your neighbour is the bigger whore". CPM cannot exist on its own in states other than WB, Kerala and Tripura. To retain national status they would align even with Al Qaeda and Taliban citing US imperialistic designs AND with HuJI, LeT, etc., keeping BJP in mind. And Indians voted and vote for parties like Cong and CPM.
I read somewhere one got what one deserved. We got the present UPA dispensation, because WE ABSOLUTELY DESERVED IT.

    1. Totally agree with you here. The crimes if CPM is higher in depth. For eg... they protected and nurtured the islamist NDF/SDPI in Kannur,Kerala to counter the RSS. But, recently the NDF turned upon them ( at least in public). CPM openly ally with Jamat-e-islami and even Abdul Nasser Madani and at same time makes a racket that Modi visiting a Hindu mutt is an insult to 'secular sprituality'.But the crimes of congress are far far wider and directly impacts millions of people in this country. In fact, Hitler , Stalin and Polpot are less sinful...they condemned poor people to quick murder. Here, millions are living in perpetual poverty to sustain the Congress Raj.

Hats off to Ravinar for writing this article. The sad unfortunate fact is , the so called opposition seem nowhere near the skill required to finish the job.

  13. Outstanding is the right word to describe this article. The maximum number of riots happened under nehru. 'Mahatma' gandhi was solely responsible for ouster of S C Bose and installation of nehru in the PM's chair superseding the more deserving patriot Sardar Patel. 'A company kills a brand ... It doesn’t mean killing the party’s members' - here I beg to differ with your views

Can we really say 'only truthful media still left standing is the Supreme Court?' Krishna Iyer's 'advice' to Indira Gandhi to beat the Allahabad HC verdict on her electoral malpractices, A N Ray's attempts to derail democracy on behalf of Indira Gandhi, SC's successful killing of St Kitt's case in collusion with PVNR, recent SC's shameful extension of time for Sanjay Dutt's surrender etc illustrate the extent to which the rot has spread. Very hard to view the SC / judiciary with respect after all this. Congress has turned our constitution and nation into a joke

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, I agree, the rot has gone right up to the Supreme Court. May be it is trying to mend its ways now in Coalgate, but see what happened in 2G. It gave protection to the PM & FM despite ample evidence to the contrary. In Coalgate too, I am afraid, the dishonest PM will get away with just a rap on the knuckles. Also a top judge's alleged links with Teesta are well known as also his perceived antipathy to a BJP CM.

    2. To add, in Sanjay Dutt's case, the SC has been perseived to have behaved in a partisan matter. The SC could have insisted that Dutt be charged under TADA like the others, but in this case, just like the media, they were swayed by considerations other than principles of natural justice.

  17. It wasn't 'honest' MMS and PVN Rao who thought of everything in 1991. Most of the reforms were taken from Rajaji's free market model, Subramanian Swamy's fair market model and what Charan Singh had written about socialism and agriculture.
It cannot be coincidence that the most salient reforms of the above dominated what MMS 'announced'. Let's also not forget that MMS was Swamy's economics adviser for the short lived ChandraShekhar Govt. It is quite possible that the reforms were 'borrowed' and no credit was given to those who thought of it.

    1. I personally believe, BJP may be outdated & even failed in many states except Mr Modi. We should give a chance to see how India shapes in his leadership.

      Delete
    2. You Can't say BJP is outdated. BJP was never given a freehand to prove its worth. Vajpayee's 6 years, though most probably the best tenure since 1947, were not without hiccups. On the other hand people gave full/brutal majority to #MafiaCongI despite its track record of loot, emergency, etc.

    3. BJP never ruled India on their own. I can use MMS phrase like coalition compulsion for the BJP's performance at the centre. But look at the states where BJP has ruled alone, they are far ahead of other states in any comparison. People of India need to give BJP a chance with NaMo as head to see the difference in governance. Definitely it will be ar better than what it is today.

      Delete
    4. 'BJP outdated failed'.

You gave it only 6 years yet expect it to solve all the country's problems that too without having full majority.

You gave the Cong 60 years with full majority and can only comment that it is outdated.

No wonder India is in such dire straits with voters like you.

    5. Though BJP was given only 6 years but in those 6 years they have done many things for the prosperity of this nation.
They have coined many reforms within the constitution which you need to first do a fact check before speaking.
I am actually glad that I completed my schooling while BJP was in power because I got to learn Sanskrit during my school tenure.
It is only BJP who gave support to our old heritage which this Congress party is on verge to destroy it.

  27. Thank you for wonderful article as ever, as you say I completely agree with you it is time to make Congress as old brand which should be eliminated from Indian politics forever To do that we need to separate the Congress voters and Nehru family members. I feel the ideal example how to execute is a fight between Bheema and Jarasandha in Mahabaratha, where Bheema tore the body of Jarasandha into two and threw the pieces in two directions, right side of body to right and left side to left. But, these two pieces came together and Jarasandha gets life and raises back to attack Bheema again. Bheema got tired after several such futile attempts. In the direction of Lord Krishna, Bheema tore Jarasandha's body into two and threw them in opposite directions to avoid re-joining of the body and raising again. Thus, Jarasandha was killed as the two pieces could not merge into one. In similar we need to separate the voters from Nehru family, and make sure that the known magnetizm (Gandhi) should no more have any attraction/power to gain votes.

In the same way, we need to separate Nehru family and voters

Imagine even 1%of Indians protested against Congress,Corruption, crimes its almost 1.21 cr , Streets will be full of people.. 34. Ravinarji....the real culprit of putting hurdles in the job of finishing congress are the socialists/communist. During Janata Government Madhu Limaye, George Fernandes and the likes of them deliberately broke away form the Janata Party Government because they were afraid of BJP (then called as Janasangh). They were paranoid that one day BJP will takeover Janata Party. The poor man Jaypraksh united all anti congress forces but socialists spoiled the whole idea of finishing the Congress I . Indira G got an opportunity to spring back in the power.

Today also the same socialist lot Sharad Yadav and Nitish Kumar are playing exactly the same game of secularism and are coming in the way of NaMo. Only George Fernandez realized his mistakes and again joined hands with BJP and was successful NDA convener. If you know trends in Maharashtra, George Fernandez was booed, abused to the maximum by Congress and Socialist/communists leaders here and a galaxy of leftist journalists in Maharashtra when he joined NDA .

Congress, Socialists and communists are inter dependent. Socialists/communists and so called left liberals secularist will always try to keep the Congress humming. To my opinion real danger in the finishing the congress is from the so called anti congress socialists. They were the enemy within Janata Government and they are the real danger also in NDA.

  35. Hi sir, trust you're fine. This post displays a different mediacrooks in more ways than one. This is not the aggressive, tearaway mediacrooks we are used to but one who is sad and disappointed at the state of affairs. Secondly the nucleus of this post is politics and not media. But inspite of the change in flavour, the element of enjoyment of reading your article is very much the same. Cheers :):)

    2. Niranjan,

100% true..another important thing is our Congress, bureaucracy and English speaking intellectuals and government have consciously kept Indian Languages away from IT world. If a languages like Maori or Zulu can be brought on IT devices why can not we bring Indian languages. The reason is, they know if they give the IT in Indian languages an to the masses they will revolt against Congress. So better keep them away from IT and knowledge devices.

Today almost 70 % of our population is on mobile but they are using it only for voice communication and not for Text communication because it is not made available. Poor Indians then type in non standard roman script to express themselves in Indian languages. Forget about mobiles Indians are not taught to type in Indian Languages which is essential for better use of IT.

Via mobile we can reach masses. But there hurdles.

If anybody remembers, "Akaash Tablet" story - Since Congis realised that whole SM is going against them and highlighting their sins and also out of their control even with their eNREGA 1CR budget, they dropped that project and now they will not distribute cheap Akaash Tablet in fear that it will boomrang.

    4. agree with you that's where enlighten people came in the picture my friend.
those who are well versed with the reality needs to spread it instead of just sitting around and chatting.
You know only 1 enlighten person is enough to change the whole nation.
Like how Adi Shakaracharya transform this nation or Shivaji did it.
We as a people who got to knows the reality (which MSM media was hiding) needs to spread the words in each and every nook and corner of this nation.
Majority of citizen are still ignorant about the reality of Congress Party because that's how Media has molded them to believe in it.
Social Media recently has emerged as the new voice and we have to spread it and make a contribution to save our nation.

  38. Sirji,
An extraordinary article par excellence. My respects and admirations! The weight each words carry echoes the height of truth, the depth of reality. If I may add yet another fact that the present Gandhis have not only looted the country but the very party. The Herald stealing by the Sonia-Rahul clan is the telling example. More power to your writings. Bravo and thanks.

  39. Nice article Ravinar.

Just to add to the first point about borrowing from other countries,we also have a large nepotism and corruption in Bureaucracy because of the way education and research sectors are setup.

For example IIT/IIM are not Indian creation.
1.We borrowed our IIT's concept with assistance from USA/MIT .
2.We borrowed IIM with assistance from Harvard.
    3.BITS was setup by MIT.

Even today despite having premier R&D institutions DRDO,BARC,ISRO,DRDO -
1.We have to import reactors from Russia for Kudankulam plant.
2.Every IC component is imported and not self made.India has no infrastructure to manufacture a IC.
3.Most of defence equipment are imported from USA/France/Russia.
4.Telecom towers are imported from china.

Importing is not wrong but with time we have to be a nation that is self sufficient. We have the bureaucracy setup that hurts the deserving employees.

I think apart from congress ,the whole bureaucracy and people attitude also needs some progressive change to help India grow.

  40. Yes CONgress has to die for this country to progress but they will not die by themselves. We the people of this country will have to ensure they are taken to the gallows and hanged till death. They will have to be dragged kicking & screaming as its not going to be easy task since they have put their loyalists at every post in every institution to ensure their survival, but dragged they have to be by the right thinking citizens like us. If we want our kids to have a better India then the onus is on us to destroy the CONgress party as it is known today. For Democracy to survive & flourish it needs good strong political parties with strong ethics & morality. Let us work towards that.

  41. The actual benefit that Congress is deriving is by keeping people uninformed, unaware of their powers.
That it has made possible by keeping them illiterate, and hence poor.
Though we are slowly catching up in that field, but it is still a long time to actually reap the benefits of educated population.

Plus, you might be aware of rampant caste-antagonism in the society. There are still people who will vote other party, just because you, who is of different caste, are voting for this one.

The task you are asking for is quite an uphill one, and is happening at a quite slow pace.

PS: Even, i, who is quite an ardent supporter of Mr. Modi would be more than surprised if BJP can secure more than 200 seats in upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Congress is playing it's cards well.
They have a votebank which is still oblivious thata scam is going on in our country. BJPs votebank is fractured, and shall I say, is educated, and thus, analyse performance before voting.

  42. @Ravinar, another excellent write up, summarizes why our country is in a mess and who is responsible for it. As Modi rightly pointed out in his speeches, today we lack pride, we don't feel proud of our culture, heritage anymore. How can we strive for self sufficiency if we lack pride in what is truely ours. There is a belief that everything Indian made is sub standard and anything foreign made is superior. We have to work towards breaking that belief. I pray to god that Narendra Modi becomes PM, for me he is the man on white horse who can solve problems of India.

  43. I wish congress get another term. Of course with MMS at helm. Or at the least it commits more misdeeds before end of this term. Just now some people started opening their eyes. Many more are still living in TINA world. Without realizing the full effect they will not look alternative.
Also the rapid economic growth created a vertical among all kinds of groups caste, religion, rural/urban, region, language etc etc. These are the people benefited overnight and became rich. They are not just bothered about morals or values. They are happy. No happy voter will vote against establishment.
There is a vertical among poor also who get direct benefits from government (see the number of welfare schemes in Andhra Pradesh). Interesting thing is other part of this vertical hopes they too will get same benefits.

All these groups must have first hand experience of congress misdeeds. Otherwise they will be forgotten once again. And congress will be back during next political instability.

It is only congress that can kill itself.

  46. Excellent article! Hopefully the opposition is listening and strategizing their election plan wisely. Here are my thoughts on this matter. I apologize in advance if this hurts some people.

Unfortunately, Congress has played so much vote-bank politics that a party planning to oppose it has to fight elections using the same dirty tactics to even have a hope of winning comfortably. The fact is after all these years, caste and religion is a major decisive factor in voting a candidate. There are no debates, no scrutiny or analysis of the candidate's plans if elected etc. by the media or the people in general.

My analysis of this problem by meeting a lot of people and asking my friends is this:

    1. A majority of the people in our country are sentimental and vote by heart. They don't think long term - Period. Congress knows this very well and use the media very well to play into this. I hate to say this, but many people in this country are sentimental idiots. A proof of this is the time when many of my friends jumped the Anna Hazare bandwagon purely based on sentiment and hype rather than scrutinizing what the Lokpal is and what it means for the country.

    2. Coalition politics is here to stay. Each coalition represents some caste, some religion, some ideology and as a result the opposition to Congress is never united. In the eyes of the common man, Congress is the one party that covers everyone and this myth is further strengthened by the negative connotation of Hindutva for the BJP that is propogated by the media despite the SC ruling that it is a way of life.

    3. Free thinking is not being promoted in India. This was the cornerstone of our ancient civilization. The attention spans of our youth are dwindling. Reading articles, thinking and scrutinizing thoughts are all a thing of the past. Rarely do I meet a person nowadays who is keeping abreast of everything by just reading a normal newspaper. Headlines, gossip, TV media circus is where they get the news from. As a result good journalists and good newspapers are dying. Ask a person what is the role of a speaker in our Lok Sabha? No response. What is the current financial condition of our country? Bad but no idea how bad.

    4. The majority of people are too busy safeguarding what they have for now by being a good employee, a good student (regurgitating what they read) and put self before country (a filtered down quality of our politicians).

    5. Certain sections of society want this current state of India to last. For eg. Government employees under C.Naidu (TDP) and Jayalalithaa (ADMK) lament that they have to "work" for a living compared to the days when Congress and DMK ruled giving them secured jobs, with bonus and no incentive to work or service the public.

  47. Congress as a political party has been used and being used as a "power broker" by a group of individuals/families. The Congress was almost dead by 1990, LTTE gave it another life by assassinating Rajiv Gandhi. It was almost dead again by 1996, these power brokers searched and found Sonia Gandhi and kept it alive just to rule India and fill their Swiss Bank accounts.

Now, it is again on the verge of death again. Now, media is working overtime to save it. It has become a fight between patriotic Indians and Congress bought media. Let's get ready for fight against corrupt, dishonest, liar, crookful and dalali media.

  48. Hard hitting! and an excellent one! You have nicely brought out how all the democratic institutions in this country have been manipulated and infiltrated to bend anything and everything for this so called 'secular party' and the 'family'. The 'family' shall never be referred as 'Gandhis' anymore and whenever a new govt (frantically praying god), other than this one, is formed that day would be the 'true independence day' for India. The 'family' name shall be replaced with other great leaders names of this nation.

  50. Instead of Congress, we have BJP.
One small example of BJP worthiness is Varun Gandhi son of Sanjay Gandhi who has been made as General Secretary of BJP, sure to be made as Minister if BJP comes to power. Varun Gandhi is no way different from Rahul Gandhi in legacy and capability. While one talks about secularism another talks about Hindutva thats the only difference.

Look at their so called top 3 leaders, sonia, Manmohan and Rahul. Tell me what experience they have had before occupying the post and what can they do for the country? Still been running the country for last 10 yrs. No wonder why it is going to dogs.

You have been exposing media and their works excellently. But I think a lot of us would like to know, what next?

Maybe 5-7% of Indians (through social media) know and feel that congress should die.. but most of your followers would like to know, what can we do to spread the word to the grassroots.. villages, towns, slums...

  55. Buddies, it is futile to nurse any hope that 2014 is going to be any different from 2009 or 2004 as far as election outcomes are concerned. This country has a misfortune that the old generation is stone deaf and the new generation believes in fatalism and are working to take the first flight out of India. So the govts are decided by those who are offered the next meal.Except for the emergence of NaMo nothing has changed on the ground and will remain so for another century atleast.

Removing this corrupt party will atleast stop the Brain Drain, Farmers will be Saved, No Scams and no Black Money laundering in massive amounts.your article reminded me of the book on Lord Shiva by Amish Tripathi. It had the conclusion that the Good will once turn Evil and It has too be destroyed whatever may be the consequences. I respect Mahatma Gandhi, but these gandhis are fake and they should be removed from the equation of Indian Homeland.

  64. Ur posts suggests an Anti-congress and pro BJP mindset..It ll better if ur posts stand neutral.U only highlight the deeds and misdeeds of the congress. What about that of the BJP? The Way the BJP has tried to polarise the nation though its rath yatras by raising the unnecessary and irrelevant ayodhya issue, the endorsement it gives to the so called moral police and unruly organisations like ram sena, bajrang dal etc. hardly gives them an upper hand over the SCAMGRESS(INC).India is a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic,multi-religious Modern nation and the conservative and anti minority policies of the BJP may hardly help the nation to progress. And besides BJP doesn't have an all clean image when it comes to corruption. So it would be rather more enlightening if we get to read posts which are balanced and presents both sides of the story rather than the one sided perception

    2. Corruption is of-course damaging factor to development of any country but it is nothing when compared to the damage caused by psedo-seckularism.
One Modi, one Nitish done .... corruption can be brought down and damages rectified(after all corruption implies malpractice in money matters and money is our creation which can be handled).
But genocide of hindus in kashmir , infiltration of muslims from bangladesh..... can these be handled the same way corruption can be handled ..... Noooooo the damage is way beyond ur imagination Nishanth, and I agree with Shivaprasad , why Ravinair should do that U do it for urself.
