Losing The Plot

From what we had during the 10 years of corrupt Congress-UPA govt, the current one has come a long way in restoring governance at the Centre. It is nearly a year of ModiSarkar and one hasn't heard of corruption or scandals. The dramatic decline in corruption has also been acknowledged by big industries. The govt has done many significant things right and there has really been nothing to seriously criticise. What is being passed as criticism is the demand for more, greater speed in action in some areas and avoiding doing stupid things like the ITR form goof-up. Yes, govts must be strongly criticised and frequently too but what we are seeing is "orchestrated criticism". 

People like SoniaG and RahulG have suddenly discovered their voices in the parliament. The comedy king first went on a spree even mouthing absolute nonsense on the Net Neutrality issue. Then the queen went on a round of hypocritical blabber about govt throttling information and RTI being blocked. This is the same woman whose govt refused to divulge even details of her many travels abroad as also that of her son. She even wants the corrupt to be punished urgently - that is like seeking a self-goal. In reality, the Opposition doesn't really have valid criticism but will keep shouting in the parliament to make sure the govt doesn't pass any bills at all. 

When the "Christians under attack" fraud was being perpetrated by the Opposition and media they got hold of any Christian celebrity who was willing to attack the GOI and play victim. It's a simple trick by the media - quote only those willing to criticise and play victim and black out those saying the opposite. They seek out persons who will go with their agenda. Shahid Siddiqui once tweeted he was dropped from a debate on TimesNow because his vieews did not match that of Arnab’s agenda, which was to tar Modi on the Moradabad riots. He was told the programme was cancelled when it wasn’t. They even got Julius Ribeiro to write a “Meena Kumar oped” where he claimed he felt like a stranger in India now and was on hit list. There have been a couple of church related incidents since then but since the media-fraud got exposed they have been more circumspect. I am sure Headlines Today got Arun Shourie (AS) in the same fashion. I doubt HT even wanted to interview Shourie. It is possible that he may have volunteered to slam ModiSarkar and HT's delight must have gone through the roof.

AS is a much respected journalist, writer and politician but he is downright ordinary when it comes to diplomacy. It is something expected of a mature politician like him. And it is seriously unbecoming of him to trash his own party (Although I wonder if he is still in BJP) when a guy like him does have access to those in power. There is absolutely nothing in criticising ModiSarkar and he can do so as much as he wants. And it's also not that all of his criticism was invalid. The problem is doing an interview with a known Modi-hater like Karan The Tool (Who wanted a sudden removal of Modi so Congress could regain power in Gujarat) and even using lies to garnish the criticism. You cannot use the lies of Ribeiro and the fake minorities-under-attack nonsense and claim good intentions. It makes it abundantly evident that AS's crticism was motivated and probably comes out of a sense of frustration of being sidelined from any ministerial position. 

If you look at the laundry list of his complaints there isn't really much substance except on a few issues. Much of it is mere personal opinion - Saying the govt lacks clear thinking is a very general statement. Then statements like Modi's economy policy is directionless is another mother-hood statement. If it was so, AS could have criticised the Union budget when people all around were praising it. He says Modi's foreign policy is a success but must follow up on MOUs. Does he have any evidence there is no follow up? This whole point quoted by HToday reads quite silly:

"Modi's foreign policy is a success but India has to follow up on the MoUs. Modi needs to execute policies quickly. China is a principal challenge for India. India's foreign policy is getting reoriented. Modi has to move much faster. Nobody is waiting for us. The US is already feeling impatient. Keeping Sushma Swaraj on the margins is wrong".

What exactly do these disoriented statements mean at all? If anything, the whole country acknowledges if there is one thing Modi has moved fast on it is Foreign relations. What is the US feeling impatient about? And our govt must work to satisfy their impatience? That’s a stupid statement one can expect from the C5M not someone like AS. And AS adds the govt must have clarity on Pakistan. Now what clarity does AS want? Years of attempts with Pak hasn't got India anywhere so Modi focusing on other countries of opportunity makes a lot of sense. I have found only one important message from the entire thing that TheJaggi points out: 

"Modi's discomfort with empowering competent people beyond a chosen few is worrying...  Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari have strong credentials, and are competent administrators. Modi has to allow them to grow further and cultivate a higher profile in the interests of the nation".

In fact, GOI often gives an impression it's being run by a small coterie of Modi-Jaitley-Amit Shah. Modi has also given the impression of being excessively flamboyant which is not the image he had earlier - that of a tough-working, result-oriented CM. And as Jaggi says at the end of his article: "For example, why not propose an amendment to Article 30 – which guarantees minorities the right to run their own institutions – to give the exact same rights to majority-run institutions? Who can oppose this right to equal treatment under the law? Being intelligently pro-majority is better than being dragged into the usual tokenisms like offering chadders at Ajmer". Special helplines for Christians, Chaddars at Ajmer all seem to follow the same appeasement nonsense of earlier govts. ABV with a coalition govt managed social issues quite well. Modi, with a brute majority in current times, seems unwilling to address social issues, especially where Hindus are concerned. Having promised Kashmiri Pandits a return to their home-state why would we see such an agitation which wasn’t seen so often in the past? 

I have written before there are two kinds of development that affect people - One that is visible and one that is experienced. Good foreign relations, terminating antiquated laws are all good things but do not directly affect people.  For instance a BJP MP complained roads in his UP town are not built despite PM Sadak Yojana funds made available. That is really a State problem but the GOI has to pressurise the state to execute too.  ModiSarkar is failing in communicating those achievements that are not visible but are being experienced. Even good achievements like reduction of power supply deficit aren’t being communicated all too well. We haven’t seen agitations in Delhi like before and even UP reportedly is experiencing better power supply:

Modi increasingly gives an impression he doesn’t listen anymore to anyone other than his small coterie. And his Delhi-Durbari Arun Jaitley organises secret dinners for media editors who have indulged in concocting fake reports against his govt and his party. From Rambo to 10-lakh suit to Luis Vuitton shawl to a documentary on his community being the latest fraud. Here’s the latest fraud by Indian Express:

Jaitley organised this secret meet and also wanted no one report it. Why? The PM also dropped in briefly at this party. These attempts to convert the anti-BJP MSM crooks to being “faithful” slaves is the most stupid thing yet by the GOI (Or Jaitley in particular, if you like). A report on this secret dinner really makes BJP and GOI look foolish. There are hundreds of fraudulent articles written with malicious intent by many media houses. Either bring a strong autonomous watch-dog or prosecute every criminal media house indulging in wanton, willful slander. No, instead the Delhi-Durbari wants to groom media editors as has been his passion through his entire career. What is the message being sent out? That there are no sane voices to listen to? People like Jaggi are strong supporters of Modi and offer very valid criticism. He also wrote a piece “Modi doesn’t need a Palanniappan Jaitely” and that should tell the PM a lot. A good cleaning up of fraudulent NGOs gets this response from the US Ambassador who exceeds his brief with such comments:

GOI must clearly assert that it will not tolerate interference in our internal affairs and not receive sermons from US Diplomats. This obviously comes over the Ford Foundation being put under scrutiny. And the Ambassador’s nonsense confirms that many criminal NGOs are indeed poodles of the US govt (in case of FF, there are many reports of CIA links). According to MHA this TOI report indicates FF has illegally funded profiteers and political parties too. If there is wrong-doing GOI should damn well kick out FF the way it has dealt with Greenpeace. Ditto for thousands of other NGOs too. Modi became PM under the weight of excessive expectations (part of it created by himself) and therefore he gets measured by those expectations. It is not as if the govt is doing badly or has not done good things. It is just that criticism is for demanding more and there is nothing wrong in that. But motivated criticism from people like Arun Shourie need not weigh heavily. But ModiSarkar is giving the impression they don’t give a damn for any voice even from those who support him. 

It is important to win private victories before public victories as Stephen Covey puts in 7 Habits. I could even ask if Modi wants to be the next model for Mayur suitings like Virender Sehwag or a PM. It is disgusting; the kind of promotions being undertaken. Who is doing all this for you? Your jokers at PMO or Arun Jaitley’s durbar? Modi needs to win at home before seeking foolish victories abroad. I would rather Modi gave an interview to Dinamalar or Chitralekha or some such media in India than India-haters like TIME. The silly obsession of seeking laurels from Western-trash (from the same morons who trash Hindus and Hindu culture for no reason) is the first sign of a silly govt that has forgotten who got them there in the first place:

Also, the belief in incrementalism in many areas by the govt is also surprising; like income tax rules. There are many areas where incrementalism will not produce any great results. There is a distinct lack of courage in taking bold decisions. The media went gaga over Jaitley’s budget (for obvious reasons - they being his durbaris) but I would consider it one of the most uncreative budgets of recent times. What is obvious is that there is a serious lack of creativity in the Cabinet although most ministers are doing quite well.  For a country like India saddled with the sins of past govts it needs to show some dramatic and bold decisions. 

Modi and his team need to communicate more with people. Fraudulent reports in the media must be dealt with through regular press conferences and not through silly debates in criminal media channels. The unwillingness and lack of courage to change public discourse is the biggest failure of ModiSarkar. After the recent dinner nonsense of Jaitley one very strong supporter of Modi and BJP since the party was born remarked in private: They are losing the plot or have already lost it. 

The Reincarnation of Arvind Kejriwal

There is an old movie called “Karz” (1980 – Rishi Kapoor, Simi) in which a man experiences dreams from his past life. He has visions of being killed in his previous life by a greedy wife (Simi) who married him (Raj Kiran) for money. Rishi Kapoor, as reincarnation of Raj Kiran, keeps getting those dreams and searches for answers. In between there is the usual Bollywood masala of songs, dances, family drama, love and all that. In the end he finds the woman who killed him in the previous life, she gets her dues and everything ends happily. Remember that movie?

Some readers were asking me to write about the Arvind Kejriwal – Punya Prasoon Bajpai pimping episode which is doing the rounds. Everyone who watches the news has heard about it now and the incident also exposed how many journalists have been nothing but doormats for AAP. Mind you, they didn’t become that out of choice. I believe the instructions to promote AAP comes straight from the corrupt political masters of some in the MSM; the Congress. So whether it’s Bajpai, Rajdeep, Sagarika, Barkha, Ashutosh you now know what exactly these crooks were doing for the last year or so. But the one person most exposed for duplicity in the last few days is Arvind Kejriwal. Our focus in this post is just AK and none other. His conduct from the time of the TeamAnna days has been nothing but one long run of duplicity, corruption and hypocrisy.There doesn't seem to be a logical explanation for this and we may have too look elsewhere.

Among the first to challenge AK to join politics was none other than Digvijaya Singh. In hindsight, that was no challenge but gentle prodding and offering AK the excuse that he was pushed into politics. It was clever scheming. However, even without that scheming there would have been nothing wrong in AK being in politics. AK has also called MPs “murderers and rapists” and has thrown questions at all sorts of politicians. Ironically, it was Diggy who also asked him 27questions first (October 2012) on his funding, misdeeds while in govt service and his NGO dealings. AK’s response to Diggy then was “not worthy of a response”. Since the election campaign of last year the Congress and media have completely stopped asking any questions to AK while he goes around asking questions to anyone and everyone. Interesting! So what is this guy and why is he doing what he is doing? That’s the question that comes to my mind. Hypocrisy apart, AK even indulges in uncouth behaviour and barks like a frustrated street dog as the second message below shows:

It doesn’t look like AK cares about politics or India. The assorted motley crew he has assembled looks more like a band of mercenaries (or Reservoir Dogs). He has committed most crimes that he had opposed. Every step he takes is like he’s crossing a Rubicon. That is why his politics is not important to me anymore. His dialogue of corruption-free India or a more responsible govt is sheer hypocritical garbage. Only the morons who can’t think for themselves will buy his BS on these issues. It’s his consistent pattern of non-performance in any chosen assignment that makes me wonder what his agenda is. I am largely convinced he is a puppet for domestic and foreign forces which desire to disrupt India and sink it into a morass of permanent economic and military depravation. AK has not only fooled his supporters but used and dumped a lot of close associates like Anna Hazare, Kiran Bedi and Baba Ramdev. There is a psychological and paranormal pattern to this behaviour and that is what this post will talk about. Of course, for once I choose to indulge in an abundant analogy and not restrict this to mere analysis. Let’s get back to ‘Karz’.

While ‘Karz’ is a good, entertaining movie it is neither spooky nor spine-chilling like the original story and movie which is “The reincarnation of Peter Proud” (1975). I draw parallels between Peter Proud’s paranormal condition and Arvind Kejriwal’s progress of dreams. It is hard to compress a movie of 104 minutes into a short version but I hope the video will still manage to explain (12.40 mins with narrative text by me). Watch patiently:

So Peter Proud has these dreams from his previous life where he was murdered by his wife. As he starts tracking down the images from the dreams, he finds that when he spots them one by one, they stop haunting him in his dreams and they disappear. This reduces his nightmares. His psychologist also chases him to write a book and prove the reincarnation theory is true and make millions with the phenomenon and the book. Peter also meets up with the wife from his previous life. The only dream left that keeps recurring is the murder scene at the lake. All the other images stop coming to haunt him once he spots them. It’s a lot like the sequence of dreams Arvind Kejriwal has. AK has quite a similar paranormal streak in his life. Let’s see some parts of AK’s sequence.

After his education AK dreams of a dream job. He gets one at TISCO and gets tired --> He dreams of a govt job --> He gets one. He is once transferred to Chandigarh but doesn’t join and that dream of govt job is abandoned. Wants to study more and dreams of being a social activist --> He becomes an RTI activist and that dream disappears. After that he wants street justice --> He organises some of those social gatherings for justice and gets tired. That dream disappears. He dreams up an anti-corruption front --> he forms it with support of rich men with Anna Hazare as front. He threatens to prosecute some people if he gets power. That dream disappears once his party wins some seats. He dreams of joining politics --> He forms AAP. He dreams of contesting elections and making laws --> He becomes CM. He said he will never take Congress support --> That dream disappears too when he takes support. He says he will never use status symbols or private flights --> He takes a chartered flight and that disappears. That dream vanishes too. He quits and has national ambitions --> He dreams and complains of media corruption but finds himself corrupting the media.

Someone explains the entire sequence of AK’s life of leaving every assignment unfinished and the hypocrisy of his grand proclamations and what happens when he actually reaches his “dream” point.

Unfortunately, AK doesn’t even see these as U-turns, or as people now call it “KejriTurn”. It doesn’t even remotely strike him that these hypocrisies are shocking to the ordinary public and is blissfully oblivious to all of it. The only explanation one can offer for this behaviour is a psychological problem where AK doesn’t see it at all. He doesn’t see what he has done to himself. Logically, one can only assume that he doesn’t care because he is only playing out a part he has been ordered to play. There are no consequences that bother him or there were no intended consequences at all. He is not playing for anything. That he keeps “checking” one dream after another as if he were sleep-walking through it doesn’t seem accidental at all. It is as if that’s the way it was arranged and meant to be. RSN Singh is a former Military Intelligence and RAW officer and he documents a case about AK titled “Kejriwal: India’s biggest scam”. It takes a patient reading to understand the maze of “arrangements” through which AK operates but survives legal prosecution and continues to live his dream on. This is probably the reason for his nonchalance; protected by the very forces he claimed to be originally protesting against. Here’s how RSN Singh explains the entire maze:

Peter Proud has only one last enactment to live through to wipe out all the traces of his nightmares and dreams: The lake where he was killed in his previous life. If he can experience it and get past it he can return to his normal life. So let’s check out what happened in the movie at the end (2.52 mins):

To erase that final nightmare Peter Proud ends up erasing himself. The book about reincarnation being real never got to be written by his psychologist as he had no living proof left. We are yet to reach the time where AK reaches his one last scene where he escapes his dreams and does the final U-turn. I certainly do not wish him an end like Peter Proud but the reincarnated Arvind Kejriwal is rushing towards a finale. AK is already into his second life; one was before becoming political and one after it. The latter one is the reincarnated AK. The more AK screams and does his “nautankis” the more he seems to set the stage to play victim and pre-empt any prosecution. This may not be possible after the elections. I sincerely hope jail was not one of Arvind Kejriwal’s dreams.

Dangerous Deceptions - Part 2: Password: "AntiHindu"

The late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi once said: “We have 50 million Muslims in Europe. There are signs that Allah will grant Islam victory in Europe – without swords, without guns, without conquests. The 50 million Muslims of Europe will turn it into a Muslim continent within a few decades.” That was in 2006 when many parts of Britain, France, Netherlands and Germany were increasingly becoming dominated by Muslim riots, agitation and ghettos started forming. Gaddafi trusted the fact that Muslims multiply faster in Europe than any other community (they probably do in other places too). All these countries have now accepted that the idea of “multiculturalism” as they had imagined had failed. What Gaddafi said is also happening in India in a different way but only few people recognise it. There is this amazing fact that despite so many murderous invaders Hindus and Hinduism survived. The invasions in the past were with swords and guns but now these invasions are non-violent. We will see how in a bit.

First, now that Ashutosh, the ex-editor of IBN7, has joined the AAP party it should leave no one in doubt about his criminal mal-reporting and campaigning for AAP with his entire IBN7 team. It wasn’t very different with his English colleagues Rajdeep and Sagarika. The best part is that Rahul Kanwal tweets about declaring “political leanings” and look who responds. It’s laughable that Barkha talks about what a “political leaning” journalist should do. This is the same person who is actually accused of lobbying and acting as go-between for two parties in cabinet formation. On the bright side, Ashutosh has at least finally done the right thing by quitting media (for which he wasn’t fit anyway) and joined the AAP party. His language suits politics better than it does journalism but the other scumbags of TV and print who are discussing this are no different from him and every media house is infested with political agents. For over a decade the spinmeisters have been involved in an agenda quite similar to Gaddafi’s dream; a non-violent one.  

In the normal course Commies are anti-religion. But in countries like Russia or China they didn’t have a problem of religious identities as India does. India is still known much for her Hindu history and identity. Most of these spin doctors in media, academics, politics and assorted activists have a problem with this. They want a complete destruction of the Hindu identity. Which is why they were deeply perturbed at the BJP coming to power in 1998 and 1999. It was the first time a party with Hindu identity was in power. Their campaign against Hindus and Hinduism didn’t start in 1999 but it escalated dramatically. How often have you heard the frequently touted nonsensical term “Idea of India” since then? This deception is meant to tell you that a Hindu India never existed which is why they regular redefine this “idea”. The Commies are therefore compelled in India to join hands with Christian, Islamic and other Marxist ideologists to ensure that this Hindu party does not raise its “ugly” head.

For a sample, no party other than the BJP and those allied to it celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas. Rahul Gandhi even mentioned in a speech that “Congress had supported BJP in the Kargil war”. You know, according to Congress and media, Kargil wasn’t India’s war but BJP’s war. Our soldiers didn’t die for India, they died for BJP? This is what they would have you believe. The anti-Hindu poison didn’t start in 1999 but Gujarat 2002 gave these crooks an opportunity to escalate their anti-Hindu campaign. The pioneer of that campaign was none other than this man:

Interesting, isn’t it? You search for Harsh Mander on Google and you get all the associated scumbags of the anti-Modi industry or Commies (I have only edited out the images of books by Mander from the above pic). What Gaddafi said Muslim population will do in Europe without guns; we have foreigners doing in India through NGOs to destroy Hinduism and Hindu identity from the country. How the anti-Hindus gently and slowly invest their poison has been written before by me but in this case I recommend you read “Patriots & Psychopaths” and “Children as leverage”. I have earlier referred to a fantastic dossier on these NGOS edited by Radha Rajan and Siddharth Kak. A few excerpts on the scumbag called Harsh Mander would be important to know.

On March 20, 2002, the Times of India published “Hindustan Hamara” that at once propelled its author Mr Harsh Mander, IAS into the very front rank of our country’s conscience-keepers. Mr Mander is the head of the Indian operations of the British NGO ActionAid that is among the world leaders of the child sponsorship industry, and he is one of The Big People “who fabricate the stories”. As it happens, Mander’s own fabrications in the past one year have unravelled. For one, his anguished conscience at the Gujarat violence and his moral outrage that led him to proclaim his resignation from the IAS are exposed to have been a deliberate self-serving lie. For another, the politico-communal agenda of the British NGO he furthers in India has been revealed. Weeks after these discoveries were made public in the national press, not one has been publicly repudiated by anyone, leading to a greater discovery of significant connections amongst Mander, the British NGO, the British government, Indian governments, Indian NGOs, and the IAS, so that now Mander/ActionAid have found it necessary to retain one of the world’s largest “brand building” firms, the British PR giant Ogilvy & Mather, to cover up the emperor’s nakedness with a huge advertising campaign.

Having claimed he resigned from the IAS over moral outrage at Gujarat 2002 this guy was actually earning money from Action Aid but also wanted his IAS pension to continue. Following this heroic performance he became a champion lecturer and writer. What does this Action Aid do? A lot of things! Just take a look at the summary of what it funds at a detailed story at DeshGujarat. Jenny-come-lately Kavita Krishnan is now a frequent flyer on TimesNow and other channels. Her CPI (ML) had this as part of their manifesto:

Read all the little nuggets on the link I’ve provided. That CPI (ML) whose darling Kavita wails on TV is also backed by funding from a dubious organisation called AID. Following Harsh Mander the number of NGO activists also known as the “Anti-Modi cottage industry” mushroomed into a vast army. The American and European “Gaddafis” see Narendra Modi as the “ugly head” of the Hindu identity they are working hard to destroy. Thus you had Teesta, Shabnam Hashmi and many other Commie NGOs that included Aruna Roy, Medha Patkar, Gautam Navlakha and, of course, the most recent Saint of Media, Arvind Kejriwal. People will remember that the original fight against corruption and black money was started by Baba Ramdev. A man in saffron? That is once again the “ugly head” of Hindu identity. Not done! So all media channels condemned BRD and ridiculed him and that concluded with a midnight crackdown on his Ramlila agitation by the Congress Centre. Makes sense? So we need someone who would be willing to be a superman corruption-fighter without the Hindu identity. You have Arvind Kejriwal (Anna Hazare was a just pawn in this project).

If it is of any interest to you, AK was a student of Harsh Mander when the latter was a teacher at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy of Administration. Dig deeper and you will realise how AK’s Parivartan, Kabir and related NGOs found the “connection” for funds, including from the Ford Foundation. NGOs as tools of containment

One perfectly crafted weapon of containment is NGO activism. Western nations have funded overtly and covertly and awarded and rewarded with ‘peace’ and human rights awards individuals and organizations taking up the cause of anti-nationalism, ‘peace,’ anti-nuclear programme, anti-war marches, human rights, religious freedom, environment and a host of issues which can paralyze a government or at least inhibit it from acting as it ought to in the national interest. The activities of some of these individuals and organizations, whose USP is a pathological hatred of Hindutva, have been subjected to critical scrutiny to see if they are contrary to the national interest and the Hindu interest. Those that deserve to be placed under the scanner include Teesta Setalvad, Praful Bidwai and Achin Vanaik, Martin Macwan, Ram Puniyani, Arundhati Roy, Aruna Roy, Nirmala Deshpande, Angana Chatterji, Akhila Raman, Sandeep Pandey, Harsh Mander and others. The NGOs under scrutiny include the Navsarjan Trust, FOIL, SAHMAT, AID, ActionAid and ASHA.

A common denominator with all these bleeding heart 'peaceniks' is that they domestically advocate 'communal harmony' even in the face of Islamic jihad's relentless war against Hindus; promote 'peace' with Pakistan despite the fact that Pakistan has stubbornly refused to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure it has set up with state patronage. They continue to insist on a ‘peace’ dialogue with Pakistan despite the fact that every act of jihadi terror around the world has a Pakistani connection and despite the fact that there is neither peace nor harmony between Hindu victims and local Muslims in Jammu & Kashmir. These bleeding heart activists also advocate ‘peace’ in utter disregard of Pakistan's stated objectives vis a vis 'Hindu' India.

Is there any major name or organisation missing in the paragraphs above? Message: I don’t care what happens to my country as long as I earn a lot of money, pretend to be a social worker and claim to be working for the poor, the Dalits and the Tribals. It also doesn’t matter where my funds come from and what their agenda is. And I don’t even feel the need to talk about Ghulam Nabi Fai here. Is Yogendra Yadav missing? Don’t worry; look up this page for those names that you missed. There are many who join a political party or other organisations without fully understanding their objectives. There is a reason why many of the Anna movement have moved away from AAP and new ones have joined.

Those foolishly talking about AAP party as the latest saviour of masses need to educate themselves. Those still believing Modi was barred by the US for Gujarat 2002 are bigger morons soaked in ignorance. Nothing is happening by accident. These 2 parts of dangerous deceptions have so far laid the basis on which we can now move forward to understand the current media obsession and AAP. That will be in the next parts. In the meantime I leave you with a passage from the closing chapter of the NGO book. Mind you, it does not appear to be written by a Hindu:

Guidelines for procuring lucrative international awards: Start your career by unleashing a tirade against the Hindus and Hindu civilisation. In order to become successful as a mercenary, start an NGO and visit the USA and tell the Christian fundamentalists there what they want to hear: how evil and backward the unconverted, pagan Hindus are. Compare them with Nazis and then on the way back home, make a stopover in Pakistan and talk ‘peace’ and mention the ‘atrocities’ committed by Indian soldiers in Kashmir. Punch the Hindu on the nose whenever you can, and if you have accrued enough points, you’ll start winning international awards. When the NGO accounts are in a mess, close shop and start another NGO. Nehruvian secularists with Hindu names are preferred for the NGO industry. The password is ‘Anti-Hindu’.

The apex body or the mother of all these organisations simply happens to be Sonia Gandhi's NAC. Isn't it great that this body works with private individuals from public funds? You will find most of these names on the NAC. The password remains the same.

Confederation of Indian Agitators

As far back as I can remember we always wanted to establish and own a NGO. By ‘we’, I mean my friends and me who had just finished some education. Apart from our jobs we spent evenings devising ‘Get Rich Quick’ schemes. We spent a lot of time on what type of NGO to create. One idea was to make a NGO and build a temple in some popular street corner. The temple could get bigger slowly and the little coins and notes would flow and keep increasing by the day. Then we wouldn’t have to work at all. But when it came to it we didn’t have the guts to do something that illegal so we dropped it. (Good choice too. That ‘communal’ Narendra Modi destroyed a lot of illegal temples). Another one was to create a NGO to educate rural folks on fertiliser use. That could get us funds from Govt, NABARD and even fertiliser companies. But we couldn’t tell fertilisers from cow-dung so we dropped that. There were many more. Seriously, all we wanted was lots of money and few big cars. We wanted to work 3 months and earn a year’s money. What is so wrong about that? And we wanted to spend weekends at luxury resorts. We wanted luxury trips to foreign countries at others’ expense and give speeches at seminars during spare time on the trip. How is all that unfair at all?

Turned out we weren’t brainy enough for those schemes and are stuck to earning money the stupid way – the honest way. When we now chat sometimes we realise how foolish we were in missing an important bus. We could have had a NGO, gotten rich and have done nothing special. All we had to do was to gather a bunch of people and agitate. Did I hear you ask “agitate for what”? Oh come on, we are a constitutionally “socialist” democracy, we can agitate for anything. Street lamps, pot holes, factory workers, farmers, water shortage, floods, health, politics, slum dwellers, hunger, mal-nutrition, riots, justice, transport, trees, forests, flyovers, pollution, late trains, even dams and nuclear plants. Like a 5-Star restaurant we could create an À la carte menu for agitations. We could have been somebody, we could have been famous. And we were, still are, good public speakers. We could have given great speeches and great sound bites for TV. We could have even manufactured ‘reality agitations’ made for TV. Rajdeep Sardesai would have taken pictures with us with our autographs and proclaimed “Great images. Gnight”. I could have written a book and won the Broker Prize instead of writing a blog.

We look at Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Teesta Setalvad, Medha Patkar and many more and regret our miserable lives. Back then a dream groom for parents was an IAS officer and he commanded a huge dowry. Now look at what 21st century has done. Even Harsh Mander gives up his IAS job and creates a NGO. Yeah, even Kejriwal gave up a govt job and created a NGO. Lately, Uday Kumar and Chittarupa Palit have managed better than anyone could dream of. They have introduced great new concepts to agitations. See? Even in this business there is room for innovation. The most inspiring of agitations has to be the Chipko Movement of the early 70s. This was one where villagers hugged trees to protect them from being felled by greedy de-foresters. The history of Chipko movement seems older and there are references to the movement from 1906, 1921 and 1940.

According to Wikipedia the Chipko movement is older than our freedom movement. “The first recorded event of Chipko took place in village Khejarli, Jodhpur district, in 1731, when 363 Bishnois, led by Amrita Devi while protecting green Khejri trees, considered sacred by the community, by hugging them, and braved the axes of loggers sent by the local ruler”. Damn! Even in 1731 it was a woman. One should have known. And the tradition of that brave woman has been followed by many modern day women. Historians are still debating whether Amrita Devi owned a Pajero or a Toyota and if she had a Ph.D. from Cambridge, JNU or AMU. But historians do confirm she studied at the LSE (Luni School of Economics). I’m not kidding, Luni is a prominent town in Jodhpur district. And she spoke English as fluently as Lord Megmoron. For her brilliant efforts Amrita Devi was also appointed member of the MAC (Mughal Advisory Council). Yeah, it was known by that name then.

But nobody, nobody beats Chittarupa Palit (Also spelt Chittaroopa sometimes) in leading agitations. She seems to be a protégé of Medha Patkar from the Narmada Bachchao Andolan (NBA). She gathered some villagers in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh and organised a Jal Satyagraha to protest some dam. She wanted lands and compensation for the displaced villagers. Noble! So she got some people to immerse themselves in water. Sometimes knee-deep, sometimes waist-deep, sometimes neck-deep, sometimes….. But in all those 14-17 days of being sunk, Chittarupa was always fresh as fish to speak to the media. No matter what the courts say people like Medha, Chittarupa, Teesta, Uday Kumar are instant heroes on TV. Here’s an excerpt from a Times of India report:

Welcome to the village which was in the eye of the storm with 'jal satyagrah' for the past three weeks… It's a story of how the entire media was taken for a ride with the help of mobile phones, which came in handy for keeping tabs on TV crews. The spot shown on TV channels where the agitators protested is not the village proper but the banks of a canal running into the Narmada…When TOI inspected the place of demonstration after the water receded, the spot was found to be only two feet deep… "We were sitting in water," said Mehtab Giri, a villager who joined the protest. "First, we laid bricks and stone slabs on which were placed iron doors used for sluice gates of the dam. This would help us sit comfortably during the protest… "Whenever the media took shots, the second arrangement in the slightly deeper water was used. Agitators waded into water to show the level sometimes chin-deep and at others, neck-deep. When they stood up, it was hardly till their waist." And they weren't in water all the time; they frequently walked in and out of the canal"… there were only three people in the water most of the time… The third was NBA worker Chittarupa Palit, who also walked out to brief the media and file documents. Others took turns. The evidence is all in the television shots"…

Nice, isn’t it? I wonder how Palit makes her living or where she gets her money from. She’s living my dreams. That’s alright, even Arvind Kejriwal rubbished the information that he was funded by Ford Foundation. He did agree that he received funds from them. So what! Even Amrita Devi of that Chipko thing received funds from Ford Foundation in 1731. That brings us to Dr. Uday Kumar, lead agitator against the Kudankulam Nuclear plant. This agitation seems to have received over 50 crores from various Christian Church organisations. Despite Supreme Court orders, despite govt assuring them about safety of the plant Uday Kumar started another round of agitations recently. This time, taking a leaf out of Chittarupa’s book he drove the agitators into the sea for another round of aqua agitation. In the end the poor villagers may end up where they started before the agitations. Some even get killed when the agitations turn violent. “Nameless heads on frameless walls” as a famous artist said. The only ones getting rich and famous are those English-speaking urbanites who run this agitation industry. What's criminal? Agitations are fine but both Chittarupa Palit and Uday Kumar, in their 'possessed' frame of mind had endangered lives of people.

And, of course, based on this farcical agitation and fraudulent immersions, TV channels like TimesNow and CNN-IBN aired the “choreographed” images 24X7 .. 14 days in water, 15 days, 16 days, 17 days. And when the MP govt announced a package they even claimed “TimesNow Impact” and “CNN-IBN Impact”. That’s how foolish our media is and that’s how they try to fool people. I don’t grudge the packages given to the villagers by the MP govt. There’s no harm in that. It’s the methods of the NGO that should have been investigated and reported by these channels. Oh incidentally, both MP and TN are Non-Congress states. That is enough said.

In case you haven't heard, over the last decade or so there are many NGOs created whose job is to just channel funds. They are NGO ‘fund raisers’. Some are even supported by banks. They collect funds from Indians, NRIs and others and channel those funds to the NGOs of the choice of the donor. Their earnings come from commissions from the funds donated. Pretty much like a Stock Broker isn’t it? And these brokers are also passed off as NGOs rather than as commercial businesses. If you plan to start a NGO it might make sense to get yourself registered with one of the brokers.

My friends and I have decided to give it a final shot. Having failed to agitate over anything we have decided to establish the CIA. No, not that CIA. This is the ‘Confederation of Indian Agitators’. This would act as the Apex body of all Agitation-NGOs. We will lobby to get the govt to make it mandatory for all Agitation-NGOs to first be registered with and recognised by CIA for any valid dialogue with them. You see, we then get membership fees, donations, foreign funds, Church funds, govt funds, private funds, hawala funds. And all that without ever having to agitate. Don’t you dare steal this idea now! 

Caution: The post is not a comment on all NGOs. Many of them are doing commendable work worthy of applause.
