Emotional Blackmail
Power is
poison he said. There is no denying Rahul Gandhi has suffered personal losses
of a grave nature. I have read two people who have analysed his public sharing
of this grief and how he himself is a target for terrorists. One is Shobha De, the queen of muddled
emotions, who believes RG is right in bringing up his personal sorrows to his
audiences and why he deserves our sympathy. De quotes him: “My family has suffered and sacrificed a lot in the service of
the nation. I could be the next target. I urge you to shun violence. Save the
country and vote for the Congress”. So you see, because my family has
suffered you should vote for Congress. Simple! Okay! The other one is Sandip Roy in FirstPost who
suggests we are no more in the age of sacrifice. And he hilariously writes: “Sacrifice circa 2013 means Sheila Dikshit having no onions
with her bhindi for weeks. It means Sonia Gandhi weeping because she is unable
to vote for the Food Security bill she was so passionate about. It can even
mean a buff Robert Vadra never getting to show off his gym-toned muscles in
India because he apparently never gets to relax in a t-shirt here”.
Clearly,
De’s muddled wailing is nothing but an opinion while Roy’s is more of an
assessment. But both of them stop short of asking some blunt questions. So what
if your Dad and Daadi were killed? Who
the hell are YOU? What is it that
makes YOU? What is YOUR story?
If I have a background of personal losses, of tragedies it is possible that
people may sympathise with me. But if I ask you to invest in me you would
certainly want to know what I have accomplished despite those personal losses
and tragedies. It is here that RG’s story false flat. Considering he was born
into a power-family he did not have to struggle for anything because of those
personal losses. He wasn’t left an orphan. He wasn’t left to scrounge for
himself. He wasn’t left begging on the streets. What has he accomplished? Nothing! Absolutely nothing!
Terrible
truth is RG has conducted himself more like a Shehzada hopping from one country to another. After 26/11 he was
reportedly partying. On hearing about Uttarakhand he ran off to Spain. Did his
personal losses teach him anything? Did it motivate him to appreciate power
better than his ancestors? No! In fact the moron has been reported indulging in
loose talk with an American diplomat claiming Hindu extremists are more
dangerous than LeT. Have his personal
losses built a strong character in him? It doesn’t appear so. This is where
the RahulG story fails. If he had borne those personal losses and shown himself
to be a man of work and accomplishment he would have earned the respect for
himself and his dead family members rather than “demanding” it of people at his rallies. Even as an MP his
parliamentary attendance and performance is pathetic. Not one person has ever
heard him talk about serious issues like inflation, defence, security, economy
etc. But hey, they killed my Daddy and
Daadi so vote for me.
Sample this
emotional blackmail and victimhood; almost every Congi was up in arms at RG
being called ‘Shehzada’ by Narendra
Modi. Let’s not even argue about how many names the Congis and their criminal alliance
partners in the media have called Modi. Their spokie Rajeev Gowda protested on TimesNow that Shehzada had “communal overtones”. Really? Does
whining get any worse? That’s the lamest thing he could come up with? Communal
overtones? And Yuvraj is not
communal? Because that is something the media has been calling RG for a long
time. What about Prince or even Clown Prince? Only Shehzada has
communal overtones? So it’s plain to see, whine
about some mundane nonsense and play victim. The Congi cronies in the media
don’t even ask these questions. They too wallow in self-pity for the clown
prince. The Congis whining is so funny, it is like Jim Carey, the lying lawyer
in ‘Liar Liar’, telling the
woman who has committed adultery seven times that she is the victim.
Almost all
of advertising pitches are emotional. A majority of personal purchase decisions
are emotional. Surely, you don’t believe “daag achche hai”, do you? Abraham
Lincoln was killed but nobody in the US says he spilled his blood for his
country. JFK was killed but nobody says he spilled his blood for his country.
Nobody in the US says these two presidents made “sacrifices”, do they? But this emotional blackmail is ingrained
into our politics by none other than the original Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi used the technique of fasting unto death partly as
emotional blackmail. The fake Gandhis do it better and even more routinely.
IndiraG once said she would not regret if every drop of her blood was spilled
for the country. Yet, she was one of the biggest dictators this country has
ever seen. Very few talk about the background of the killings of IndiraG and
RajivG. Let’s talk about it.
Operation Bluestar which was conducted under
IndiraG is a sad chapter in Indian history. The storming of the Golden Temple
to nail one guy was certainly excessive. Lot has been written about it.
Bhindranwale is known as a monster created by IndiraG herself. But what is not
often discussed is that post Bluestar many Sikh soldiers deserted the army. Some 2000 Sikh soldiers reportedly
deserted. Some were killed and some were tried. We don’t know what happened after
that. But given that emotions were running high and some Sikhs wanted IndiraG’s
blood she continued to retain her Sikh bodyguards despite security advice
against it. She didn’t listen. Her
decision to retain them was noble but it was also emotional. The tragedy could
have been avoided if she had been a little more rational. RajivG went on to get
close to people and mingle and shake hands against the advice of his security.
There was every possibility that post the SriLankan intervention he would be attacked
or killed. He didn’t listen.
Is Rahul
Gandhi listening? Haven’t you heard already that he has often sneaked up to
places without knowledge of CMs? Haven’t you heard that he often breaks
security rings to mingle with people? Does
he listen? No! Threats exist against quite a few politicians which is why
they need to stick to security routines. If there is one thing that RG should
learn from his Daadi and Daddy it is that he should stick to these security
advices and routines. He has shown signs that he hasn’t learned even that. In a leader, the personal grief and sorrows
are expected to make him stronger and not whine for pity and sympathy. But
our story-writers in the media and history writers are great at making
emotional rescues. Sonia Gandhi declining the PM chair was hailed as a great
“sacrifice” when it turns out that there might be other reasons and she found a
great puppet to fiddle with.
It is this
sympathy that got Congress the votes in 1984 and 1991. In the absence of
performance, in the face of excessive corruption all that RG wants is to draw
on emotions and hope some sympathy for him will get the votes for Congress
again. My life has been a series of
tragedies, please vote for me. He doesn’t want to talk about the
institutions that SoniaG, he and the Congress have destroyed. Which brings us
to an important question: Did the
Congress ever really believe in Democracy? Since IndiraG took charge there
has been no democracy within the party and I dare say the Congress has
consistently destroyed democracy in the country too. Like I said in the first
part, there is a two-pronged tactic; fear-mongering
and emotional blackmail/victimhood. So
they call their opponents fascists, communal, Hitler and all of that because
Modi has rattled them and threatens their grip on power. When asked about it,
BJP spokie Meenakshi Lekhi bluntly told TimesNow that it’s Sonia’s father who was a Nazi who supported Fascist ideology.
That is nothing but a fact. One could say that is hereditary for her but what
about her predecessors?
In the next
part we will examine how the ‘Chinese
Gandhis’ (as Balbir Punj calls the fake Gandhis) destroyed democracy. There
is nothing in this Congress’ DNA that remotely suggests they stand for
democracy. The only democratic procedure they follow in India is vote
collection. This time around, they are more desperate than ever in that
attempt. Everything else is a Banana for them.
To be continued...
Couldn't resist -- "RG’s story false flat" --> "RG’s story falls flat" :-)
ReplyDeleteI noticed the same thing at very first. I think it was caused by auto speller or general 'falsehood' associated with Rahul Gandhi :p
DeleteIt is always a treat reading your posts!
ReplyDeleteSG has certainly played a bad hand in foisting RG as a PM candidate, a person with no achievements to speak of, someone who is being forced into a "profession" for which he has zero aptitude. It would be an unmitigated disaster if by some freaky twist of fate this nightmare comes true...
So called fiberals r all Bengali's, ex commie state, be it as mentioned today by you de n roy, sagarika aunty, ndtv prannoy.. Amitav ghosh.. Communist ingrained upbringing!!
ReplyDeleteWith a coat of Islamic colour.
Delete@John Cecil, You don't have much grey matter up there. Do you?

DeleteHe is saying all fiberals are bengalis not that all bengalis are fiberals.
DeleteIf anyone wants to generalize anything, please generalize this JNUites and JNUism that has gripped these commies for long.
Deleteone more "sonia not happy" story planted
ReplyDeletehttp://www.rediff.com/news/slide-show/slide-show-1-rahul-polarising-speeches-not-going-down-well-with-sonia/20131029.htm
I do not think this is a story planted. After I read this I had a doubt that if Sonia does not mind sacrificing his own son, f she would like to come back to power. She never wants to be accountable for anything, but wants to hold power.
DeleteAs Ravinar, rightly pointed out here, Rahul seems to sneak at places without the knowledge of CMs and even at times come out of Security ring. Sonia does not seem to have a problem with it. As a mother, Sonia should remind him of an imminent tragedy waiting to happen, if he does not respect the security protocol. I do not expect RG could think for himself and his protection given the state of his mind.
It was actually Modi, who made it look like a political satire that RG does not trust his own party cadets and CM, so he sneaks out on his own and that too on a stolen bike! This should at least make Congress to think and ensure RG moves well within his security and party people.
RG seems to think that political rally and sneaking out is adventurous like you take a backpack and go out to countryside or Hitchhike a ride on a stolen bike :-)
Look at the timing of these articles. Something like polarizing speeches is not working for Congress and hence Sonia has come out with this story. This article is after BJP lodged a complaint against RG's polarizing speech and there would be negative publicity so this Sonia doesn't like this and that, Sonia cried, Sonia was unwell. This has been the feature for last 10 years. Sonia and her chamchas want to occupy both opposition and ruling party's space. Hence these articles.
DeleteWhile your point about personal tragedy not being a qualification is well made, I'm not sure I agree with your examples of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi's deaths. The question is more about what did Rahul learn from them? IG was responsible for the destruction of so many of India's democratic institutions and the start of the culture of sycophancy in the Congress party. And wasn't India's first big corruption case - Bofors - during Rajiv's time? Aren't sycophancy and corruption expected behaviour from Congress party members? The real question is what will Rahul add to this mix.
ReplyDeleteRG has inherited split personality having split vision and no mission
ReplyDeleteOne thing wonderfully brought out in your post - Want to milk a tragedy, even of one's own making to one's advantage, Learn it from CONgress. They stand tallest when it comes to that. Pappu's great Granny's heart attack also is a sacrifice for the country. Rajiv Gandhi not killed on our borders protecting the nation, he was knocked out when begging for votes. By no stretch of imagination Sacrifice for Nation
ReplyDeleteHello Ravinar,
ReplyDeleteSeeing the history and CONGress and its sacrifice, My crazy 6th sense is telling me RG will be made a scapegoat and made do die in terrorist attack. Blame it on Modi / Hindus, get the sympathy vote and make the Sister Priyanka PM.
Speaking of conspiracy theories(or 6th sense as you may call)...mine tells me, congress may return to power in 2019, with Robert Vadra as a scapegoat, and will be scarified and exposed by none other than Priyanka Gandhi in her bid to be the next PM.
DeleteYou rightly mentioned IGandhi and SG for emotional blackmail but left JNehru who got his PM chair out of it. He denied rightful elected presidantship of Patel out of blackmailing original Gandhi

ReplyDeletenice one sirji its a pleasure reading your blog's
ReplyDeleteIf Rahul Gandhi really feels the pain of Daddy and Daadi - who were both killed in their public appearances - he should be feeling the pain even more seeing the serial blasts that almost got Modi in his public appearances.
ReplyDeleteOh wait, maybe Rahul only feels the pain if his family is killed and doesn't really care about terrorism.
Silly me.

ReplyDeleteThis is what I have been telling all these while. Countries don't Run on Emotions one Got to take some Strong Decision to make run country better. What about so many soldiers were killed because of his Dadi and Daddy's Blunders. What even RG+Congress Learnt IG and RG both ignored the Intelligence alerts and that Continues till today and everyone Blame the Intelligence Failures. Did Major Sandip Unnikrishnan Parents (26 / 11) asked for any Votes or the Soldiers who were beheaded by the Pakistani Army their family asking any Votes Hundreds of Thousand soldiers were killed because of this family's Blunders its in Congress Blood to ask for the Compensation Sanjay Dutt Involved in Bomb Blast how the Anti Nation + Anti Hindus + The Entire Pseudo Secular Brigade Cried for him. What about this Families Blunders no Media Talks about it. No one in Political Circle had the guts to Tear into Nehru Gandh Family's Emotional Blackmailing its again Namo. The Entire Media should come out with the Truth and Blunders committed by this family. Like they Beg for Votes and expect us to live on their doles. Raviji this has to come out and How Long we Indians are going to suffer because of this family's Blunders.Look at the RajivG statement in 1984 Riots shows his immaturity and also Justified the Riots. You watch any debate on any Paid News Channel and listen to Congress spokesperson's never gives Answer attack personally or get emotionally like in Office Of Profit debate J.Natrajan answered oh she is a widow (Referred To SoniaG) than she should sit at home. Raviji this what a common man is talking about and How Long Congress is going to Feed their First Family's Sacrifice Whose Member never had any Vision, any Plan for India. Only Plan is to make their Damad Rich and no one dare Touch him any Honest Officer will be Punished. The Family is Above Law of the Land. Because they don't have any knowldge of the Law and Constitution have Ruined all the Democratic Institutions. There are Writers or Political Thinkers + Analyst have written a lot about this Family's Blunders and how Bharat Suffered. Which these Paid And Anti Nation MSM + Sycophants never discussed and showed that The Family Don't do anything Wrong.
ReplyDeleteMany of the secular debates can be cut short if BJP or NaMo can touch upon the association of KhanChris with a rank communal outfit like Muslim League in Kerala and MIM in Hyderabad. I wonder why BJP is not using this weakness of KhanChris in their secular vs Communal debates on channels. I am sure that if BJP ties up with BSY, Khanchris will go to town with corruption issue. It would be a great counter balance to highlight this issue.Jayanti Natarajan was put on the mat recently when Arnab sought an answer to this tie up of KhanChris. It is about time NaMo refferred to this in his rallies. Whatever NaMo raises, becomes a national debate till his next rally. If not anything, the so called politically mature voters of Kerala will awaken from their deep slumber.
ReplyDeleteBSY is not as bad as has been projected everywhere. There are even bigger sharks than him in other parties. I am not a supporter of bjp, but want Modi to succeed. When I was riding today in Bangalore, I saw some posters of anantkumar. It would be wise for bjp just to keep projecting Modi and stop displaying posters of anybody else, especially of anantkumar in bangalore and elsewhere. anantkumar is a loser but may win for the sake of modi, as many others like me do.
DeleteIt seems we Indians are emotional fools! This may sound little harsh but it is true. For more than 65 years congress was successful in emotional blackmailing. So called iron lady Indira Gandhi clamped emergency and trampled democracy for power sake. Still people voted to congress party and given record majority to Rajiv Gandhi. Sikhs were massacred by congress leaders after Indira`s assassination. Still people of Punjab elected congress Govt!
ReplyDeleteIt is true that for the last 65 years, we have voted back Congress due to falling prey to their emotional pleas, dramas, incidents and nautanki....ism.
DeleteBut I think the time has come to decimate or disintegrate congress. I do not think during any of the period within the political history, congress has reached to such an abysmal state. I do not find any tall leaders within the Congress to carry forward the party. It is all reduced now to SG, RG, PG/PV, RV.
RG is dumb. PG/PV is at risk due to RV's land dealings. RV interested only in maintaining BMI. SG is critically ill and likely to not appear proactive in public.
Good time for Modi and company to take on Congress.
In future too, we can have good leaders emerge within Congress, sans the Ghandy dynasty, else its history again.

ReplyDeleteRavinar, you (or your writings) have this amazing ability that once a reader starts reading, he/she want to read completely and read more. So, I always go to htttp://www.MediaCrooks.com only when I have plenty of time to read. I cannot stop any column in the middle.
ReplyDeleteIt is absolute pleasure & delight to read MediaCrooks columns. So far, MediaCrooks, TheUnrealtimes, NewsInsight.net, NitiCentral are the sites that give me good read satisfaction.
You brought up a good point on deaths of Abraham Lincoln, JFK and no one in US glorifies their "sacrifice". Not just that, the wife, sons, daughters and grand kids never asked the American people to vote for them for the sacrifices of Abraham Lincoln and JFK. There are some Kennedys who became senators (similar to our MPs), they had to fight very hard in their party primaries and then contest against opposition Republicans.
ReplyDeleteRahul Gandhi asking the votes of Indian people in the name of his family's "sacrifices" is nothing but royal begging -
"Baba, Daadi ke naam vote de! Baba, baba mar gaya, unke aatma koo shanti ke liye vote de!'
