Scamming Karnataka Hindus

While no political party is known to be sensitive to Hindus and their aspirations, the BJP is a party that has singularly duped Hindus more than anyone else. It’s a story of treachery, duplicity and willful neglect of its core voters. The BJP now has the record of having destroyed maximum number of temples nationally and in every state they rule. The fear of losing Karnataka is now showing on their faces and their utterances. From Narendra Modi to Amit Shah to that silly Doll BS Bommai – they are running helter skelter trying to fix things with Band-aid. In earlier times, the BJP paraded itself as a Hindu party and Karnataka is the only southern state that repeatedly voted them to power.

However, the BJP has smeared gobar on the faces of Hindus each time. Such are their crimes that this is probably the easiest story to write and it can be done with just images without much narration. The BJP losing Karnataka is an opinion randomly shared on SM by users and also in some opinion polls like this one by ABP published on March 29:

As it stands, the BJP lost the last 2 elections in Karnataka – in 2013 and 2018. In 2018 they emerged as the single largest party but couldn’t snatch power. Then, in 2019, they grabbed power through the backdoor but unceremoniously dumped the popular BS Yedyurappa and plonked for the miserable, pliant clerk BS Bommai as the CM. Unlike in other BJP states, the BJP in Karnataka is strongly associated with corruption and mal-governance and some of their MLAs have been caught in scams and have been arrested. Bommai too was labeled as “PayCM”. The biggest treachery, of course, is the fake promise of freeing temples from govt control and then shelving that promise for eternity. The only emotional issue on which they could appease Hindus stands dumped:

Modi is perhaps the finest Ponzi operator that India has seen in politics. Modi will promise the Moon and deliver a Marble. In the GOI, Modi has now pushed everything to that Ponzi called “Amrit Kaal”. He lives in delusions and likes to keep the public deluded in nonsensical Mungeri fantasies. Modi did so with Karnataka too. For years the infrastructure and traffic woes of Bangalore have been neglected. Bangalore has turned into a mess of pollution, endless traffic jams and more or less as unlivable as the fantasies of Modi. So, what does Modi do? As with the Ponzi schemes of GOI, he demands another 40 months to turn Bangalore into a beauty queen:

These 40 months means a deadline of October 2025 which also implies that you should invest another term in this Ponzi scheme. That’s a “mini Amrit Kaal” for Bangalore. On what basis does Modi come to a 40-month deadline? NOTHING – just nonsensical gobar gas that is emitted from his mouth almost every single day on every single issue. Modi’s projects and dreams are half-baked and often mere LIPSTICK and nothing else. He grandly inaugurated a sea-plane (or river-plane) service between Ahmedabad and Kevadia (the Sardar Unity statue). Few months later, that service was as dead as Aurangzeb. Although Aurangzeb still lives and breathes in the form of Modi who goes around demolishing Hindu temples. Here’s a short video on the Ponzi and his ribbon-cutting for elections. That’s not all. When BSY was held guilty for corruption by the Lokpal, Amit Shah grandly commented on it even if it was for some dubious reasons instead of keeping his mouth shut. That was in 2018. Then, in 2021 BSY was sacked as CM by the BJP high command for no reason or rhyme. And now that the treacherous party realises that BSY is a popular figure and vote-catcher, they sing songs about him just before elections. Nothing better to demonstrate the treachery, duplicity and the use and throw behaviour of BJP better than this video of Amit Shah, India’s most worthless Home Minister who is nothing but a low-level booth-manager for elections (Video: 41 secs):

So, what exactly are the programs and policies on which the BJP are seeking a return to power in Karnataka. The answer is 3 simple words – Caste, Revdis and Religion. Neither Modi nor BJP have been able to think beyond caste and religion for any of their programs or electioneering. They have continued the crass, low level caste politics that had plagued most states in India for long. In reality, Modi has escalated caste discriminations, caste wars and casteist politics and policies. And the hypocrites and castards of BJP rant about others but are the biggest Revdi dolers in India. Nothing is touched without a caste angle to it. Not even mundane bus passes and caste-based Reservation:

Knowing that the Hindus are angry with the BJP and voters are fed up with their treachery and hypocrisies, the party is now trying to woo back Lingayats and Vokaligas who form a large chunk of vote bank. What was the answer to this? The BJP withdrew some Reservations given to Muslim OBCs and transferred the 4% to Lingayats and Vokaligas. A masterstroke, I guess:

The lottery for these 2 communities doesn’t stop there. One of the most moronic nonsense perpetrated by Modi on Hindus is placating them with useless statues or temple corridors as if that is any compensation for any economic policies for ALL Hindus. Their consistent attempt has been to break off certain castes and communities from the Hindu fold itself. To please the Lingayats, Doll Bommai announces a tall Basaveshwara statue and a Ram Mandir for all. This has to be the stupidest country on earth where politicians keep fooling the vast majority with more statues and more temples. And the beauty is even the temples they build will again be controlled by the govt or their political-mafia stooges through which they will loot your money again:

The best and most vicious tactic that BJP has come up with to woo the angry Hindus in Karnataka is surprisingly the same old one of pitting Muslims against Hindus. Bommai withdrew the 4% Muslim OBC Reservation. The political scoundrel Amit Shah grandly shouted that it was against Constitution. If that was so, why did these scoundrels wait for so many years to withdraw it, especially since they have been in power again since 2019. A BJP MLA KM Eshwarappa screams Azaan loudspeakers are a headache everywhere. Why did these scoundrels not act on it so long and bring up this nuisance only during elections? Another MLA scoundrel called Basavangoda Patil screams that Muslims are getting Reservations under 3 categories and this is not their father’s house. All this abuse, taunts and vilification of Muslims during elections just to ignite Hindu anger. But the awful TRUTH is, behind the back of Hindus, maximum loans, subsidies and schemes are given to Muslims while Hindus don’t even get a dingaling:

This is true for BJP in almost every state. Scam Hindus with bogus promises like freeing temples, fool them with more worthless statues and more temples as if all that Hindus need are statues and temples. Hindus don’t need more statues and temples. They need fairness in policies, in laws and in economic justice. The BJP discriminates Hindus on everything but behaves like their saviour. And in all this, Narendra Modi is the biggest hypocrite, liar and abuser of Hindu culture, temples and practices. No one has demolished more Hindu temples since Aurangzeb than Modi. So, apart from historical temples like Ram Mandir at Ayodhya or Kashi Vishwanath, the Hindus don’t need more temples which the govts will anyway loot. Hindus of Karnataka must say NO to these scamsters – whatever the risk, the BJP traitors must learn their lessons in the Opposition before they seek power again.

The Rajdeep Rehash

Just like Rahul Gandhi sees two Indias I believe there could also be two Rajdeep Sardesais. There is one Rajdeep who, in his privacy, is often in deep introspection and contemplation with great thoughts and the other on TV who often can’t string together a single coherent sentence without stuttering and stammering. The stuttering and stammering is not so much a speech handicap as it is the manner in which he handles or approaches issues. On 29^th July Rajdeep released his latest Friday blockbuster on his blog “When should a minister resign?” And then in the evening he decided it was to time to discuss Subramanian Swamy’s provocative article in DNA.

It’s a bit surprising that Rajdeep chose to discuss Swamy’s DNA article over two weeks after it was published. The reason? Some Harvard students and faculty members have petitioned for Swamy’s dismissal from Harvard University. Well, whatever else happens to Swamy at Harvard, it appears those petitioners are not quite aware of the First Amendment to the US constitution that guarantees free speech. Rajdeep is right in bringing up the issue on CNN-IBN but when he allows absolute trash to pass as expert opinion or analysis that is where is he is guilty of thoughtlessness and refuses to see idiocy when it happens right in front of him. Among the participants was Dipankar Gupta, supposedly a Sociologist,  and these were some statements he made to Rajdeep during the discussion on being asked if Swamy should be thrown out of Harvard:

“If anybody goes to teach summer school in Harvard he is obviously not top of the pops”! Well, for a sociologist that is supposed to be a hard argument against Swamy’s article I guess. I also assume Rajdeep and Dipankar aren’t aware that Swamy was in the Department of Economics at Harvard as a professor and the summer school teaching is the latter part of his career. Still, what that statement by Gupta has to do with the topic is a mystery. Rajdeep fails to read that. Gupta doesn’t stop there, he goes on to make another interesting observation: “Swamy has the right to his opinion but not the right to be published”! Can anyone explain that? And that too goes over Rajdeep’s head? Why? Because Dipankar Gupta is supposedly a “sociologist” with great skills at debate and those statements were his sound arguments against Swamy's article. We all get it!

And then Rajdeep Sardesai has the penchant for claiming “we exposed, we exposed, we exposed”! This, on the cash-for-votes scam. Anyone following events would know that CNN-IBN had actually suppressed the sting video which helped the UPA survive a no-confidence motion in July 2008. Now that the SC is hounding the Delhi police and the case is back in the news Rajdeep claims to have exposed the scam. Not only that he claims to have exposed 2G, CWG, Adarsh and so on. If this continues he would one day out-do Bollywood starlets in exposure.

That is the first Rajdeep. The second Rajdeep is one who thinks a lot more clearly when he retires to his privacy and is able to regain his presence of mind and think with greater clarity. Which could be the reason his blogs are so different from the personality on TV.

Still, his clarity of thought does not take away from the fact that his channel, and others too, do not possess adequate moral and ethical balance in their account to be lecturing politicians or common people. I decided to have some fun rewriting and rehashing his latest blog. So here goes: “When should a minister resign?” asks Rajdeep. (Quotes from his article are in blue)

Referring to the resignation of Shastri in 1956 owning moral responsibility for a rail accident, Rajdeep says: “That, of course, was a different age: a period when the notion of 'integrity' had genuine meaning, and was not the self-righteous proclamation it's been reduced to today.” How true! If back then there had been TV channels and they had captured something like the “Cash-for-votes” sting they wouldn’t have suppressed it. They would have put nation ahead of parochial considerations. Isn’t it funny to hear this guy talk about integrity?

The self-righteous lecture on moral science doesn’t end there, here’s more:

It is this growing public frustration with a tardy judicial process that has created the present environment in which a carnivorous media is playing, to quote a rather forlorn prime minister, "accuser, prosecutor and judge." The classic jurisprudential principle in which an accused was presumed to be innocent till proven guilty has been turned on its head. You are now guilty till you can prove your innocence. A television studio is now a cacophonous courtroom, and the news anchor (this columnist included) is often the ultimate judge. The result is that resignations can be forced if a sufficient amount of surround sound is created over a 'scam'.

You could take that para and put it in any article concerning the media. Well each time Rajdeep and his channel heap scorn on someone and carry out a media-lynch operation this would suggest he is a very different person on TV and an altogether different one when he introspects and writes his blog. Each time he sermonises – look inward, raise the standards of media and so on and even submits a meek confession by including himself in the crime. A sort of Dr.Heckle and Hype! Hitchcock would have loved this guy! And then he allows the likes of Dipankar Gupta to make the most stupid statements on his channel without countering it. That’s how you allow mindless lynching.

That done, he once again returns to his favourite principle : “Hammam mein sab nangein hain”, here he rephrases it for the netas:

The battle, in that sense, is now being fought in the peoples' court where perception matters more than legal niceties, a perception magnified by the 'sab neta chor hai' slogan. In normal times, an A Raja would not have had to step down on the basis of a CAG report. After all, CAG reports often 'indict' ministers and officials. But in the case of Raja, the report only confirmed the widespread suspicion of a deliberate misuse of the telecom ministry for personal benefit. Similarly, former CWG chief, Suresh Kalmadi was deemed guilty even before a chargesheet in the case because there was a general 'perception' that he had manipulated games contracts. By contrast, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit stays on in office even after the Shunglu panel probing the Commonwealth Games scam indicted her government because she is 'perceived' to be an honest, hard working chief minister.

Here’s the truth: The biased media, including CNN-IBN, NDTV, Headlines Today chose not to make half the noise about Sheila Dikshit as they did about B. S. Yedyurappa. To their joy they also found a TV-hugging Lokayukta who simply loved frequent press conferences. This Lokayukta was discussing his report on mining even before actually releasing the report. I can't recollect Shunglu hugging and delighting the media with his reports. The public perception of media’s motive isn’t too hard to see as Rajdeep himself gets the feedback from various sources and responds through Twitter. The corrupt media is as brazen in promoting the cause of one party and a family as were Raja and Kalmadi in their actions.

Here’s some more:

An Ashok Chavan could argue that he was forced to quit as Maharashtra chief minister over the Adarsh housing scam even before an FIR could be filed in the case, but the emotional quotient attached to Kargil war widows made him a political liability.

Now how does this rehash sound like?:

A Barkha Dutt may seek a Nobel Prize for fighting imaginary communalists, but once a crusading Manu Joseph or Vinod Mehta has charged her with power-broking, she loses credibility. A Vir Sanghvi could argue that he was forced to quit as Hindustan Times ED over the Radiagate scam even before an FIR could be filed in the case, but the emotional quotient attached to paid news made him a media liability.

The words are exactly Rajdeep’s, I have just changed the name and causes. So how about applying it those who are peddling bias, untruths and covering up important news and issues? Not to forget, even employing fake tweets to back their own causes.

We aren’t done yet. Let’s take another para on this moral science sermon from Rajdeep and rehash it.

Take the case of former union minister Shashi Tharoor. There was no legal charge against him, and yet, he was summarily removed on grounds of 'perceived' impropriety. That he had no real political base perhaps made him an even softer target. Contrast his situation with that of a Vilasrao Deshmukh who remains a cabinet minister even after having strictures passed against him in the Supreme Court. A Tharoor was 'dispensable'; a Deshmukh is a political heavyweight.

Here’s the rehash:

That he had no real media-celebrity base perhaps made him an even softer target. Contrast his situation with that of a Rajdeep Sardesai who remains a Managing Editor even after suppressing the cash-for-votes video. A Gautam was 'dispensable'; a Sardesai is a celebrity heavyweight.

The unfortunate experience of Siddharth Gautam, former CNN-IBN journalist involved in the sting op, is pretty well laid out in the article at India Today.

To his favourite line “Hammam mein…”, Rajdeep has now added another line “Sab neta chor hai”…. I have a suggestion of one more that he can add to his collection: “Muh me Ram, Bagal mein Churi”… Every once in a while Rajdeep’s conscience strikes, and trust me, I will be there to rehash it for him.

The Gita - Modi Untouchable, Let's Get Yeddy!

Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who headed the Manhattan Project that created the Atomic Bomb, kept the Bhagwad Gita by his side throughout the project. On being asked if this was the first ever atomic explosion he had replied “Yes, in modern times”. His response was interpreted to suggest that such a test may have been already carried out in Vedic times. Following the test he remarked later that he was reminded of Krishna’s words to Arjun to take up the just war: “Now I am become death, the destroyer of the worlds”. In a figurative sense the secularists will use that line against Hindus themselves. And they have willing partners too. You don’t need to do a google search to find the identity of these ‘useful idiots’. They are all around you.

Not surprisingly, many early westerners who trashed Hindu culture eventually embraced the profound spirit and wisdom that the Bhagwad Gita enshrines. Even modern day scientists, like the late astronomer Carl Sagan, have found inspiration, truth and scientific accuracy in the Vedas. Philosophers through the centuries relied on the Gita for inspiration and solace. It is only in modern day India that those who call themselves ‘secular’ find a volcano of joy in trashing Hinduism and dragging this spiritual guide into an avoidable cacophony of controversies. Yes, I am referring to the Karnataka (non)controversy of teaching Gita in schools.

Who else to lead the brigade against the Karnataka government but NDTV, with its secular cheerleader Barkha Dutt? She, who has come to unwittingly represent the worst of Indian news media. Creating a controversy where there was none. All this because some minister’s statements which supported teaching of the Gita in schools. Before you could say ‘Allah’ there were reports all over that a circular has been issued by the Karnataka government to mandate teaching of the Gita in schools. I am yet to see the actual circular or the actual text of it. Christians and Muslims in the public responded with righteous anger but why should the news media fuel the nonsense? Well, don’t be misled by the media’s Gita delusions. The blog Offstumped has pretty much chronicled it neatly and I don’t find the need to repeat. It would be fair to say that in the current context of Indian politics and media ‘Secularism’ means and must involve Hinduism-bashing. It is not an untruth to state that Christianity, Islam, Judaism are foreign religions. India has absorbed these as her own and we should be proud of our culture of absorbing other religions and cultures. But this is not about religion or about the Bhagwad Gita.

The plan is much bigger than that. It’s a secular strategy.

For almost a decade the Congress and other ‘secular’ parties along with media channels like NDTV, CNN-IBN, Star News and many more have tried to demonise Narendra Modi. To destroy him politically. To join this gang of secular brigade there were those from the Scotch circuit and so-called humanitarians and activists. You will lately find some of these humanitarians on the invite list of Ghulam Nabi Fai. They called him a mass murderer, threw fictitious affidavits at him, produced false stories and even outright lies. Didn’t work! They called him fascist, compared him to Hitler, tarnished those who associated with him. Didn’t work! Anyone praising Modi was a lamb ready for slaughter. Remember Amitabh Bachchan? Remember Ghulam Vastanvi? Remember Anna Hazare? Watch out, soon Narayana Murthy who has accepted an assignment in Gujarat will be consigned to the trash bin. Murthy’s career which has been praised and has been an inspiration to many will now be peppered with controversies, accusations of corruption, nepotism and a lot more. The secular dirty tricks department will be activated to throw mud at Murthy. He better watch out. But none in the ‘secular’ spectrum, not even gutter-mouth Digvijay Singh has been able to bring down Narendra Modi. He has simply proved to be untouchable!

So, what do we do now? Ever since the unmasking of Digvijay Singh by a saffron-clad Uma Bharati he has gone colour-blind. He has tried every trick to tarnish the RSS, BJP and through that Hindus themselves. The Congress, Sonia Gandhi, the media collectively failed to poison the minds of Gujaratis against Narendra Modi. NaMo could not be accused of corruption, of nepotism or of non-performance. In contrast, B.S. Yedyurappa, CM of Karnataka presents a much easier target. From the governor Bharadwaj to the Congress to the media there has been a consistent and concerted orchestration of mud-slinging and skulduggery. CNN-IBN has already accused him of corruption in the mining scandal when the Lokayukta has simply asked the CM should be probed for involvement in mining contracts. In contrast you won’t find much noise about Shiela Dikshit’s indictment by the Delhi Lokayukta. Previously the JD (Secular) and Congress connived to bring down the BJP led government in Karnataka. To their utter shock and dismay the people voted the BJP back to power with a clear majority.

Unlike Modi, Yedyurappa has a large family and the temptation to dish out favours will always exist. And, yes, he must be probed and if corruption is established he must be removed. But the manner in which he and his government or ministers are being loudly discussed on TV channels indicate only one thing. He is a safer and easier target when compared to Narendra Modi. And the other threat is that the BJP is increasingly becoming popular in Karnataka if one were to go by the results of the last few by-elections. For the secular brigade that is the serious threat that must be averted at any cost. Even if it takes dragging the Bhagwad Gita into it.

If all that is not enough, target some Hindu activists and leaders in terror cases and equate them with Al-Qaeeda and LeT. Drag the Shakaracharya and file murder cases against him. Enter temples with impunity. Attempt to seize the wealth of temples. You go figure.

To a smaller extent the media has already started raising volumes over the BJP CM of Uttarakhand on mining scandals. But Karnataka is always a bigger catch and therefore higher the temptation to bring down the BJP government there. The Gita controversy should be viewed in the light of that effort and not as a religion issue. Imagine the kind of gains the secular brigade would make if Muslims and Christians are told about the threat that their religion is in danger under a BJP government. And the ever willing NDTV is always there to expand the discourse on the threat to minorities. Tempting, isn’t it? The JD(S), the Congress and the media have only stopped short of saying “Islam is under threat” or “Christianity is under threat”! But make no mistake, that is exactly what they wish to imply.

They aren’t done yet. The job is to manufacture hate and outrage against BJP governments. It’s not finished yet. Await more mud-slinging. Yes, Narendra Modi has proved to be untouchable. Let’s get Yeddy!
