Praying Mantis

“You don't make up for your sins in church. You do it in the streets. You do it at home. The rest is bullshit and you know it.” – Martin Scorsese (Mean Streets).

And Scorsese is a Catholic who wanted to become a priest or a gangster. Thankfully, he became a movie-maker. You don’t need a temple, mosque or church to pray. That can be done anywhere. In olden times temples were not just a place of worship. They were places for social gathering and also doubled up as teaching and learning centres. People pray at home. They pray at shops. They pray at offices. Muslims even pray on railway platforms, inside trains and at airports. Many airports now have a special prayer room. So why this ruckus about a temple at Shani Shingnapur by some woman called Trupti Desai and her gang? Her troop has been agitating for entry into the temple (a false agitation) because women were being allowed inside the temple anyway. She and her violent gang want to enter the inner sanctum of the temple where even ordinary men are not allowed. Only the priests doing the rituals are allowed in that place. What is obvious, but not being said in the media, is that there is a concerted and coordinated attack on practices by Hindu temples from Sabari Malai to Shani Shingnapur.

For the past few months, this woman Trupti Desai (in yellow) and her gang have been agitating to enter the temple. This was not even an issue as women were already being allowed entry. Their problem is they want to be allowed into the inner sanctum where other ordinary men and women are not allowed anyway. So they go the Bombay HC demanding entry into the temple. The HC promptly obliges stating they should be allowed entry into the “shrine area”. For the record, this Desai has been reported to be a Congress member, an atheist and also an AAP member. I am in no doubt that her entire operation is sponsored to target Hindu practices and traditions. Personally, I don’t give a damn whether she enters the shrine area or becomes a priest herself. But there is a pattern in the way Hindu institutions are being targeted by certain vested interests. Naturally, many are instantly tempted to point to the hypocrisy of govts and courts when it refuses to enforce equality for other religions. Here’s what the same Bombay HC said on Haji Ali barring entry of women:

So, when it comes to Haji Ali or Muslims our courts don’t want to “interfere”. And the HC also states this is an “era of intolerance”. Mind boggling! It does appear that govt after govt and courts have made it mandatory only for Hindus to follow the Constitution and reform their social and religious practices. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) now claims the Muslim Personal Law is above the Constitution and scrutiny of the Supreme Court. This because some Muslim women have petitioned against the instant triple Talaaq. The SC has taken up the petition anyway. The Punjab Assembly recently passed a Bill which entails life sentence for sacrilege to the Guru Granth Sahib. We are going crazy! This here is the famous Dilwara temple in Mount Abu:

The temple is open from 6am to 6pm every day but between 6am and noon only Jains are allowed in because this is a Jain temple. How do they know you’re a Jain if you’re not a regular devotee? They ask you to chant the first few lines of the regular Jain mantra or prayer before letting you in. We accept that rule and find nothing wrong in it. We don’t go around agitating to seek entry from 6am onward if we are non-Jains. Many temples in this country have rules and practices, as do mosques and churches. But it seems only Hindu temples are to be subjected to courts and spurious agitations. This hypocrisy is to be directly blamed on our govts and courts. They are scared of Muslims and Christians – as simple as that. They are scared of the violence Muslims will unleash and they are scared of the international Christian groups raining down on them. A column-writer expressed her extreme anguish over this in a series of tweets. Here’s one of them and I estimate most Hindus will feel her sense of deep frustration:

Whenever such incidents happen Hindus instinctively point to the hypocrisy of our govts and courts in enforcing Constitutional equality for all, regardless of religion. But I have to say it is just as wrong for Hindus to compare themselves with Muslim society. Their repressive Mullahs have ensured their society is beyond reform. Muslim women roll out mats at their homes facing Mecca to say their prayers. We shouldn’t be comparing with them. Almost all Hindu temples freely allow women. In fact, when Bapus hold “Pravachans” at many major temples most of the audience is made up of women. Hindu religion and society has been far more open and willing to make changes than any other religion. A vast majority of Hindus also keep religion at their homes and don’t wear it on their sleeve like some other communities do. But look at the audacity of some Muslim members (and there are quite a lot of them in public) who nonchalantly lecture on Hindu practices. These cowards and hypocrites need to be run down:

Farooq Abdullah or Shazia Ilmi lecturing on rights of Hindu women at temples? Laughable! It’s like Kim Jong-Un of North Korea lecturing on dangers of nuclear weapons and mouthing disarmament and democracy. Such is the cowardice and hypocrisy of verbal lint. How discriminatory are our govts and Commies in their approach to Hindu traditions and practices? All you have to do is read what the SC said five years ago on fake secularism of the Congis and its Commie partners:

It’s not as if the courts don’t recognise the efforts of some politial parties and Commie outfits to denigrate and destroy Hindu society and all its traditions. SoniaG even wanted to bring in the Communal Violence Bill where a Hindu would be charged and detained endlessly merely on accusations or suspicion. While they may be fighting each other all over the world, in India the Muslims and Christians employ a variety of methods to denigrate Hinduism with their Commie associates. A good reason why I call them Chrislamists. Here’s a Kerala Padre who wants Christians and Muslims to unite against Hindus (read here):

For what? If he had said CPM and Congress should unite against BJP that would be justified as a political statement on political tactics. But why in hell would this hate-mongering guy want two communities to unite against Hindus? And they will not rest until Hindus are fragmented and slowly destroyed. That’s their final goal. And the back-end sponsors of this goal are not only in India but spread across the world.

Why would anyone wanting to pray create a ruckus and agitate violently? Even going to court is a much more peaceful method. Trupti Desai and her gang don’t appear to be devotees of anything except the business of regular rioting and anarchy. This doesn’t happen without a sponsor. Each time either this gang or some other gang acts like the Praying Mantis to go for another kill of a Hindu prey – either in the form of temples or Durga or Karwa Chauth or some cherished Hindu traditions. Fortunately, because of Social Media more Hindus are getting to know about their evil designs. I count a blessing! I’m no pessimist. I’m positive this anti-Hindu nonsense will come to a grinding defeat sooner than later.

PS: Praying Mantis:

The majority of mantises are ambush predators that only feed upon live prey within their reach. They either camouflage themselves and remain stationary, waiting for prey to approach, or stalk their prey with slow, stealthy movements. Larger mantises sometimes eat smaller individuals of their own species, as well as small vertebrates such as lizards and frogs. Most mantises chase tempting prey if it strays close enough, and will go further when they are especially hungry. Once within reach, mantises strike rapidly to grasp the prey with their spiked raptorial fore legs. Some ground and bark species pursue their prey in a more active way.

Don't Mess With Hindus

One of the greatest modern-day astronomers, the late Carl Sagan stated: "Vedic Cosmology is the only one in which the time scales correspond to those of modern scientific cosmology”. Sagan was an atheist, so religion didn’t influence his findings. Another astronomer corroborated the accuracy of the Vedas by stating that the movements of the stars calculated 4,500 years ago, does not differ by a minute from the tables of today. While scientists have growingly come to acknowledge the Vedas, the basis of Hinduism and Hindu culture, it is our own ‘Fiberal’ Social Scientologists and the ‘Fiberals’ in the media who often heap the most abuse on Hindus and Hindu culture. Some are even ignorant which “invented” religions started the concept of killing for their faith.

Rajdeep Sardesai is a family-man. Like any parent he wants his kids to grow up in an India where no one kills in the name of religion. It’s a nice thought. John Lennon did ask to “Imagine no religion”. But what does Rajdeep have to say to parents who often shower abuse in public with statements like calling Lord Ram a “Divine Encroacher”? What does it teach children when someone calls “Indian males ugly”? What does Rajdeep say when a fellow media crook calls Ram a D***? What does it say about an Editorialist who runs an anti-Hindu channel? What does it say about Editorialists who didn’t report a single communal riot of the NINE in UP in the last 6 months? If Rajdeep wants an India free of religious violence he and his friends in the media must acknowledge that religious-violence wasn’t invented in India. It came from foreign deserts. Rajdeep’s deputy called people on SM “Internet Hindus” as a derogatory term. What does Rajdeep have to say? Well, far from feeling offended Hindus now wear that term as a proud badge much to her annoyance.

This post is not directed at Rajdeep but draws his attention to what he can correct without any help from anywhere. And now Hindus on the net and on the ground are starting to say “enough is enough”. People on Twitter, often called ‘Tweeple’ are now frequently gathering to discuss the media and other social and economic issues. One such meet was held in Bangalore on December 2, 2012 and promoted under the tag #SouthPTC. Prominent speakers were Subramanian Swamy (SS), S. Gurumurty (SG), Prof. R. Vaidyanathan (RV) and MR Venkatesh (MRV). These gentlemen are well-known, well-respected and frequently appear on TV panel discussions. They were also joined by many Tweeple in making presentations. SS delivered the opening address (full speech on Youtube). Reclaiming and revival of the empowerment of educated classes made possible by the power and reach of Internet was the dominant theme of the address. An important point made was about the value system of India that everyone aspires and subscribes to, to be known as “Educated Class” He further acknowledged the power of this educated intellectual class who are quite knowledgeable and data hungry. With this knowledgeable crowd, India can progress enormously if right policies are in place. He emphasized that it is wrong to refer India’s Growth rate as Hindu rate of growth whereas it actually should be called Communist rate of Growth since we followed Soviet model. He added that when they said 3.5% is the best we can achieve, a policy change through economic reforms resulted in 9.5% growth. It is not enough to be educated, we need to have spine too. It is not about numbers, not about being strong, “It is all an issue of Mindset, which is the whole idea of this Conference – The Mindset, the Mindset required to make India Great once again”.

The main part of the address focussed on various dimensions of Politics viz Votebank issues, Religion, Law and Order, Economic issues, International Issues and others. He dwelt in detail on the threat to National Security due to Influx of Bangladeshis which is changing religious composition in districts of Assam.  Dr Swamy then dealt with issues facing the Nation starting with Corruption – the overriding issue today. Every problem India faces today can be traced to corruption and then other issues like National Security and Lopsided Investment priorities

SG (Full speech on Youtube) then addressed the gathering on Culture, Values and Development where he focussed on how India and China were the leading economy in 1750s (together >50% of Global output) and US was just 0.1% of the Global GDP. India’s share crashed from around 25% to 1.8 and China’s to 6%  Even Japan then fastest growing economy had to import spinning technology from India as late as 1880s. During peak economic crisis when Government almost lost hopes on the economy, banks lost hopes, travelling across various Industrial clusters of India – it was realized that our economic strength was not in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta or other big cities. Highest per capita income was not in these places including Bangalore (which has recently caught up with Global economic forces). It was in Gujarat which has achieved it year after year for last 2 decades. He says “In 10 years my economic ideas, social idea, relation between Society-Economics, Culture-Economics and People-Economics underwent complete change”. In reference to a speech in IIT-Mumbai, he expressed regret that Institutes of Higher Learning that produces these Intellectual leadership of India who interface with the world has minimal understanding of India and Indian Society which has impacted our Economic, social, political and academic thinking which calls for a shift in our mindset. 

He quoted reputed rating agencies criteria for India’s growth potential – Family Savings which accounts for 18-20% of our GDP. Dr Jagadish Bhagawati a reputed Economist advised Dr Manmohan Singh, FM during 1992-93 crises that the only way to emerge out of this crisis is to dip into this Family savings and get families to spend more – in short convert miserly women in the families into spenders instead of savers. Though Government obliged the real India did not oblige, they maintained the culture of saving, traditions, morals and values because that is how for centuries we have been trained, that is how our literature, culture and spirituality are.

Prof RV (full speech on Youtube) then addressed the Tweeple on the Way forward and actions thereof post Conference. He broadly touched upon 3 areas – Academic Institutions, Media and Global Finance for immediate focus. The Academic Institutions have lost out due to influence of a Left leaning Minister for HRD during 1973 period set up 14 Research Centres across India to serve as feeder centre for all major universities of the country.  The effect of that action is being felt today in the Universities where a close knit group of left liberal thinkers – a no-entry to outsiders kind of a mutual admiration society dictate the sociology and history of what forms academics of University (for instance Historian Ramachandra Guha’s India after Gandhi doesn’t even mention Sardar Patel and similarly in his latest book says SP Mukherjee is solely responsible for Kashmir issue).

It is essential to create think-tanks across the country on various specialized topics like Defence, Foreign Affairs who can then become thought leaders and pressure groups in due course. Unlike other professional bodies like Medicine, Accountancy etc there are no regulatory bodies to regulate Social Scientists.  Retrieving Social Science studies to reflect the right history, culture and tradition is the first focus task. Coming to next focus point which is Media that includes Visual, Print and Social Media. Social media has a fairly significant presence of Patriots, reason why the Main Stream Media is jittery and feeling insecure by these 140 character assault from Social media. In order to make a presence and impact, RV stated Gurumurthy is working towards establishment of a Visual Media. The other focus area is to compel the Government to open up Radio Medium. The final focus is on recreating Global Financial Architecture.

MRV (full speech on Youtube) then took the podium to address on FDI/FII – Implications for India. He demonstrated how the whole investment was not from foreign sources from our 36% household savings which is also drove the Macro-level Economic growth. The FDI/FII that has come so far is less than 2% and Goldman Sachs studies say Indian Investments in infrastructure predominantly comes from Indians. In the list leaked by the Ex-Employees of HSBC, Zurich - 700 are Indians which most probably would have got settled in Settlement Commissions of IT Department.  Agreeing with Kerjiwal who said it is easier to transact in HSBC, Zurich than Operating in SBI. Despite HSBC being considered a rogue bank by every country, RBI Governor’s silence is baffling. More damning was the complicity of Mauritius route for money laundering where a residence certificate or registering a company is possible with low investment on paper.

When Politicians, Ministers and reputed Banks indulge in such acts silence of finance ministry is worrisome. Drawing a parallel to a verse in Bhagavad Gita where Lord Krishna describes the immortal soul says, Weapons cannot cut me, Fire cannot burn me, Water cannot drench me and Wind cannot dry me – the same is the case with Hawala money– IT Commissioner cannot touch me, ED cannot issue notice to me, RBI cannot question me,  SEBI will not know anything about me. Money laundering is canonised by Media and the FDI proponents as item of huge reverence. On the ruins of the West India will rise. World crumbling is an opportunity, India not rising enough is the challenge. We have a challenge and responsibility to educate and ensure that discourse and debate on FDI/FII is based on facts.

Prof Vaidyanthan stated the Abrahamic faiths have originated from desert whereas our culture is River-bank based. He continues “from being a reactive to agenda set by others, we should set the agenda and get MSM to respond to us”. He concluded by saying “These Internet Hindus or Cyber Hindus are united by a larger national concern and not paid groups” and hence they are unstoppable, will multiply and flourish and send a clear message: Don’t Mess With Hindus”

“Don’t mess with Hindus” is not a call to arms. It’s not a “3rd wave” call like that of Owaisi’s. It just warns the social scientologists, anti-Hindu media, Eminent Historians who faked and lied about Indian history and the Macaulay Putras and Putris to stop abusing Hindus and Hinduism. It’s a message not to take the ‘tolerance’ that the SC observes for granted. 

In Denial Part-2: Covering-up Muslim Violence...

You would have heard the story of why a huge elephant refuses to break its relatively tiny chains and seek freedom. The reason is the elephant has been chained since it was a baby when it was difficult to break it. The baby elephant tried hard but couldn’t break away. By the time it grew to its mammoth size it was mentally a prisoner to that chain. It was convinced it’s futile and believed it’s not possible. Its mind had been trained to the falsehood that when it’s chained, it can't break free. Our MSM and most historians are no different. They are chained to falsehoods by the institutions that created them and cannot break free. Our school history books chain children to falsehoods too (Aryan invasion, anyone?). Most remain like the elephant but some are now managing to break free. This is the reason the new alternative media bears an important responsibility in spreading facts and truth. Some are already doing a great job of it and thousands more should join in.

Negationism is defined as denial or distortion of historical facts, especially those relating to crimes against humanity. Dr. Koenrad Elst, a Belgian, is a Hinduism scholar who has written much about this negationism and concealing of Islamic record in India. In the first part of this article I talked about history books in school. Here’s what Koenrad Elst has to say (Wiki): Historians of the Aligarh school (e.g. Irfan Habib) or Indian Marxists (e.g. Romila Thapar) have resorted to history-rewriting: "Therefore, in 1982 the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) issued a directive for the rewriting of schoolbooks. Among other things, it stipulated that:"Characterization of the medieval period as a time of conflict between Hindus and Muslims is forbidden." Under Marxist pressure, negationism has become India's official policy”. It actually recommends dumbing down of students. Effectively, it meant the horrors of Indian Islamic history must be hidden from our students. Students who cared were able to get to the real history but our MSM still follows that diktat. So is it a surprise that Muslim violence is covered up and mostly turned into ‘victimhood’ or an Anti-Hindu rant?

Most of us who believe in freedom of speech admire the First Amendment of US Constitution and are inspired by it. The inspiration for ‘free-speech’ for our MSM seems to be the ‘Sharia’. Hey, what the hell, let’s celebrate! It’s the Ganesh festival. You see, Gujarat has been free of communal riots for a decade now and that’s a great sign. But was it free of certain communal incidents? And it’s not just Gujarat alone. Ever wonder what is so wrong about the Ganesh “Visarjan” or the immersion procession that can be annoying to any religious community? At the most someone might complain of loud noise for a while. But in Godhra, the very epicentre of 2002, Muslims stoned a Ganesh procession in 2010. Saw a report anywhere in the MSM? No? Okay, here’s another from Miraj and Sangli in Maharashtra in 2009. No? Okay, here’s a recent one from 2012 this month from AP: Communal clashes over Ganesh idols. No? Okay, here’s another one from this month from Coimbatore Deccan Chronicle. Some have been arrested too. Are you sure you didn’t hear TV channels screaming about it? No? Then recently, online magazine The Onion , in sarcastic response to the violence over the recent anti-Islam movie, carried a very vulgar cartoon of Ganesh, Buddha, Jesus and Moses with the title “No one got murdered for this”. I’m not even going to reproduce it for obvious reasons. The Onion used it to prove a point to Muslims and not the unintended offence to other religions.

Back in January 2011 the Delhi HC ordered the demolition of an illegal mosque in the posh Jangpura locality in South Delhi. Law abiding Muslims protested, agitated and rioted and created havoc in the area. Politicians from the ‘secular’ parties rushed to pacify and promise the Muslims everything will be done to protect that illegal plot. You remember those TV images of this incident, right? Oh come on, rack your brains and recall those images! No? Oh wait! I recollect now. Just as NCERT sanitises school books, the ‘Union of Snakes’ sanitises TV where it concerns Muslim violence. Yeah, the NBA is the comic, laughable self-regulatory “union” of our TV media propagandists. That union decided: Other violence good for you, Muslim violence bad for you! Need confirmation? There’s the tweet from Barkha Dutt.

Alright, so if you’ve not heard of all of those on TV or major newspapers I’m sure you have at least had the pleasure of meeting Deganga. No, Again? Well, that’s because Deganga is not a media celeb but a small town somewhere in Bengal. If you read the CNN-IBN website report (see image) you wouldn’t know what the story really was. And, interestingly, at the bottom, there’s a disclaimer: “This is an automated feed. The contents have not been selected or edited by IBNLive”. Voila! So a robot does that and CNN-IBN doesn’t even have the time to verify the story or report it properly. Do they? That’s a smart way of covering up Muslim violence. Need more facts? Read this blog post. Don’t go by just that one blog. Please do cross-check this post with other searches on the net to assure yourself that you have the full corroborated story. The list could go on and on but let's stop with this much.

In the first part I quoted a rationalist, satirist Bill Maher. In this part, let’s read  Richard Dawkins, a rationalist, on the recent episode of the offensive movie which has spawned so much violence and deaths (this was in response to a letter by one Terence English):

“Terence English makes the all too common liberal error of patronising Muslims by assuming that their bigoted intransigence is a fixed fact of life which cannot be criticised, but must be accommodated like the laws of physics. It is a dubious application, not to say misapplication, of the classic limitation on free speech where “It’s like shouting ‘Fire’ in a crowded theatre.” Well yes, I see the point but no, there is an important difference. Fire is a chemical reaction that presents huge danger to everybody in a crowded theatre. That danger follows inevitably from the laws of physics. The danger from Muslim over-reaction to trivial slights to their prophet is entirely man-made and inexcusable.  As Nick Cohen points out, in You Can’t Read this Book, the real offence is to assume that Muslims are incapable of civilised behaviour. This patronises and insults Muslims in ways that – if the liberal apologists would only think it through – goes right against their deepest liberal convictions: “Poor dears, they don’t have civilised ways like us, it’s part of their culture.” That’s the ignominiously coded meaning of “respect” in this case”.

A Muslim MP makes a statement threatening a “third wave of radicalisation” in parliament. Instead of condemning his act our TV channels hold stupid debates about it. There cannot be a debate about mindless violence and mindless threats. They deserve nothing but severe condemnation. But our little “Miss Indias” will not only suppress news reports but will identify “Victimhood” as the cause of all this Muslim violence. Victimhood justifies violence? The only real “root cause” of all the chronic violence is ignorance, illiteracy, lack of education, intolerance and most of all, lack of sane leadership. On CNN a Rabbi made a valid point today. In most Islamic countries people can be jailed or even beheaded for offending their political leaders or Kings. And so it’s imaginable why they cannot tolerate criticism or satire about their religion. Does that ring a bell? We are close to that! Our cowardly media can abuse Hindus for anything but will not dare ask a single question about Sonia Gandhi’s illness, whereabouts or how, when and where she travels abroad. That’s our courageous, fair and balanced media for you.

The root of any good or bad ideological practice is usually found in the precedents set by the founding fathers of a nation. India doesn’t really have founding fathers except her Hindu culture. But post-independence some like to give that honour to some people. Jawaharlal Nehru is often referred to as the ‘Architect of modern India’. In his book on Negationism, Koenrad Elst recalls Nehru’s admiration for Mahmud Ghaznavi

The best-known propounder of negationism was certainly Jawarharlal Nehru… his writings contain some crude cases of glorification of Muslim tyrants and concealment or denial of their crimes. Witness his assessment of Mahmud Ghaznavi, who, according to his chronicler Utbi, sang the praise of the temple complex at Mathura and then immediately proceeded to destroy it. Nehru writes: "Building interested Mahmud, and he was much impressed by the city of Mathura near Delhi". About this he wrote: "There are here a thousand edifices as firm as the faith of the faithful; nor is it likely that this city has attained its present condition but at the expense of many millions of dinars, nor could such another be constructed under a period of 200 years." And that is all: Nehru described the destroyer of Mathura as an admirer of Mathura, apparently without noticing the gory sarcasm in Ghaznavi's eulogy. Moreover, Nehru denied that Mahmud had committed his acts of destruction out of any religious motive: "Mahmud was not a religious man. He was a Mohammedan, but that was just by the way. He was in the first place a soldier, and a brilliant soldier."  I recommend that you read the whole book by Elst which is available free online.

The fountainhead of the rivers that run through most of our institutions, universities, education boards and the media lies in the nearly two decades of Nehruvian era. Communist and socialist ideologies have made sure Hindus are blamed for everything and the worst of Muslim violence is covered up. So what about the Muslims? As long as they keep providing evidence that they can be provoked easily into anger and violence there will be jokers who will keep cracking silly jokes to annoy them. Immediately after the latest movie, a French magazine, Charlie Hebdo, carried another round of cartoons about the Prophet. There were protests in France but fortunately no violence or deaths. The day they stop reacting to these cartoons they will find the cartoons disappearing. Aseem Trivedi came to prominence because some idiots got provoked, else nobody would have even heard of him or seen his cartoons. The outcome is there for all to see.

Finally, what about the MSM? In 1991 the adult elephant was compelled to break free of the Nehruvian chains and bring in some reforms as far as economic policies are concerned. Though many faulty socialist policies continue, much of Nehru’s economic, political and international ideologies have been dismantled. One good thing: Nehru was never accused of financial corruption which his party has now taken to exceptionally intolerable levels. Our media is partly a player in that corruption. The MSM is an adult elephant but still a mental prisoner of the chains of the negationism that Nehruvian era brought along. Many of the media people come from the hotbeds of Nehruvian negationism, the universities and institutions that produce them. Does that explain why they cover up Muslim violence or intolerance more often than not? In the 21st century, baby elephants in the alternative media have broken free of the chains. If the MSM chooses to be a mental prisoner the baby elephants are not going to merely watch.
