Arnab's Hoax

On August 12 the Parliament finally settled to a reasonable debate over the Sushma Swaraj – Lalit Modi issue. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge spoke uninterrupted for nearly an hour with questions for SS. All very fine! Then SS spoke amidst ruckus and noise, mostly by Congis. News channels showed most of Kharge’s speech. It is just when SS launched a scathing attack on Sonia Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi – the ChineseGandhis family that the MSM lost their pants and skirts and ran helter-skelter. Here’s what happened:

That is right. NDTV suddenly shifted to stock reports, IndiaToday and CNN-IBN to some road rage in Navi Mumbai and Timesnow to Privacy issues. The media’s Scaredy chicks wanted to avoid the shellacking of the Gandhis. And that too is what happened after the hounding of SS and Vasundhara Raje over the LKM issue. The moment LKM mentioned SoniaG the media went dead on the issue. But the stupid Congress made the mistake of extending it to Parliament and rioting and disrupting proceedings. Was it really a mistake? It wouldn’t appear so. We’ll find out.

That the Congress received a thrashing for their lies at the hands of SS and AJ (Arun Jaitley) would be an understatement. The evil Congress was exposed from RajivG to SoniaG’s sisters to RahulG. Allowing Warren Anderson of the Bhopal gas tragedy to escape in exchange for RajivG’s friend (and relative?) as also Quatrochi featured in the crimes of Congress in speeches by SS/AJ. SS stated the Gandhis had also received money from Quatrochi of the Bofors infamy. AJ even called the little duffer an “Expert without any knowledge” considering the latter blabbers on anything ignorantly (in this case his pre-scripted blabber was reported as a counter to SS by Rahul Kanwal and Hindustan Times. Guy is bad even at rote learning). We will pass all of this for another day as these are major crime-stories that can make multiple posts. Instead, let us rewind on how things came to such a pass.

It is normal and also desirable for the media to be adversarial to the govt of the day. But in India, our MSM has largely been adversarial to BJP regardless of whether they are in power or not. The entire MSM, like a box of parrots or a mischief of mice (Yes a group of mice is called “mischief”) started hounding SS-VR after a story by Timesnow. Now, the TOI group and others have been hounding BJP and their members for a very long time while protecting the sins of Congress and Sonia. Remember, TOI group in particular has carried fake stories from Rambo to the current nonsense. After BJP comes to power, they run fraudulent campaigns like “Christians under attack” and other frivolous crap. In this particular case the fraudulent campaign against SS-VR was a conspiracy hatched by and with Arnab Goswami of Timesnow and others followed like mice because they saw another chance to trash BJP and seek scalps of their ministers. It was nothing short of criminal. On his nightly ruckus called Newshour, Arnab was raging like his bottom was on fire:

In response to Arnab’s frequent fraudulent Witchhunts I have written a few posts. While writing those I still did not suspect his integrity. But his 3-week hounding off SS and VR smacked of a “Supari” Whackjob that was hard to explain. He called it #LalitGate urging viewers to trend it. #LalitGate never trended. I responded with a post called #ArnabGate (which trended world-wide). Here’s a quote from towards the end of that post:

“Arnab has a history of hounding people with an agenda of seeking scalps. There was the Nitin Gadkari hounding which lasted for a month. There was this N Sreenivasan hounding which lasted 21 days. There have been others too. In the case of Gadkari all of it turned out to be nothing but a “Supari” hit job. In case of Sreenivasan, many indicated the agenda was because of conflict between TOI and BCCI. Sreenivasan continues to be in some position or the other in Indian cricket. After the world cup he wanted to hound MS Dhoni out and got severely trashed on Twitter… the media and Congress claiming “moral” grounds is like Al Capone preaching Prohibition. All of Arnab’s mindless bitching has gotten nowhere. I am sure Arnab knows this and therefore he pounces on any and every little firecracker and screams “It’s a bomb, it’s a bomb”… At the end of it all, maybe in a year, when we thoroughly scrutinise every witch-hunt (going beyond news reporting) Arnab has carried out we will find most of them were damp squibs and the only real scandal would be ArnabGate”.

At the beginning of Kharge’s speech in LS Timesnow grandly carried a small banner on their screen – Timesnow impacts Parliament, implying Timesnow forced LalitGate discussion in Parliament. When the tide turned with SS’s speech – that banner disappeared. Arnab had taken a severe beating. And his rage was all over his channel in his nightly ruckus screaming that both BJP and Congress had played a fixed match. He howled that Congress did not ask the questions of SS that they should have asked. Really? Which questions? That ones that never existed in the first place or concocted by Arnab? So how did the Witchhunt of SS-VR start? SS mentioned P Chidambaram many times in her speech and alluded to PC being the one who framed Kharge’s questions that were also breast-fed to a TV channel with supposed dirt on her. Not the first time because we have also read reports that the great “coup report” by Shekhar Gupta was breast-fed to him by PC.

Based on the breast-feeding Arnab received from someone, he also had the audacity to demand that PM sack VR and SS. This moron thinks he can order PM to sack anyone; such is his ego and arrogance. Naturally, the beating Congress took in LS makes Arnab feel it’s a personal loss and defeat for him. IT IS! It is a major defeat for his hounding and slander. Such was the viciousness that Arnab even called VR’s son the “BJP Vadra” and his criminal reporters hounded VR and in one case even crashed into her convoy in Delhi. Not satisfied with mere hounding Arnab extended his vile nonsense with exceptional slander. Take a look:

Such was the hate-mongering by Arnab that he even accused VR of promoting/selling cancer to benefit Lalit Modi. This is his great independent journalism? This is the grand integrity he talks about? Clearly, Arnab was breast-fed by anti-BJP sources (Probably Congress) on stupid stuff. He built another case of VR and son owning a palace in Dholpur illegally. This was again spoon-fed to him by nonsensical claims in a presser by Jairam Ramesh. This is what AJ mocked in his speech in LS – That a court order giving ownership to VR’s son was not important but a Congress spokie blabbering crap was truth for Arnab and media channels. Arnab now has dinosaur eggs on his face for his fraudulent smear campaign and imaginary integrity:

And all this while claiming he has ALL the facts, that his team has VERIFIED everything thoroughly. The best trashing of the bogus claims Arnab made on LalitModi nexus came with the clarity on LKM’s status that Arun Jaitley laid out in the LS. Smear-campaigners like Arnab, his partners in Congress and other media colleagues kept on calling LKM a “fugitive” when it was evident to even ordinary men like me that he was not a fugitive when Sushma helped him out to meet his cancer-stricken wife. And worse, the criminals in the media went to the extent of claiming VR could be prosecuted for treason:

The Congress orchestrated this smear-campaign and Arnab was their vehicle – like a cigarette is the delivery vehicle for nicotine. Arnab became that poisonous vehicle. The Congress suffered more political damage than they estimated. The public, the industrialists and every sensible person on the street is disgusted at their vicious rioting in the Parliament over a frivolous issue. Arun Jaitley rightly pointed out that all the Congis wanted was to disrupt and halt the growth of India. I called it Stalling India and so did many others in the public domain. Congi wimps are now standing on Sonia’s queen-size ego and nothing else. The biggest hit was taken by SoniaG and RahulG – their reputation and that of their family lies in shambles. It will only get worse in days ahead. I am in no doubt about that.

As for Arnab, he is barking like a mad dog which has been trapped by the municipal van. His fake self-righteousness makes him scream even in his promos. He knows he has been licked and beaten badly. Only one consolation – “everybody takes a beating sometime”. The loss of credibility and his fake integrity exposed; is a heavy price for Arnab to pay for his slander-campaign. He now threatens Sushma and BJP that his game is not over and that he will expose them even more – that is not a journalist but a vengeful political pimp blabbering, somewhat like that guy from UP who wanted to make “Boti Boti” of Modi. Long before the truth came out in Parliament I was clear that at the end of the game the only Gate left will be ArnabGate. Arnab’s hoax has been badly exposed and he has been paraded Nekkid in Parliament and in public. He has cried wolf too often and lost any trust he had. Sushma Swaraj laced her LS speech with a perfect slap for Arnab – “Nation wants to know” and they know now.

The Hitjobs BAR:

It started with a mild but failed attack on Smriti Irani and her education few weeks back. Modi must answer the BAR screamed. BAR is the lowest bar in Indian TV journalism (Barkha, Arnab, Rajdeep). Then they turned to Sushma Swaraj and kept up the hit-jobs for a few days. Modi must answer! Then they hit the bounty with Lalit Modi and Vasundhara Raje and they kept up their stupid attacks for nearly four weeks. Modi must answer! Arnab the clown even started demanding resignations and “ordering” the PM to sack Raje as if he was the Pope. The resignation-demanding business stopped after #Arnabgate trended worldwide. In between for spice they added Pankaja Munde. Modi must answer! – No resignation still. Like bowlers who went wicket-less for a whole Test series they kicked and screamed about LM and Raje till this happened:

LM threw a bomb by naming Sonia Gandhi. SUDDEN DEATH! All the media morons went totally dead as dodos over LM and Raje issue. The very mention of SoniaG makes them wet their pants and skirts. Modi must answer, morons? I don’t know why but I estimate media houses must have something to with funding from the West but I cannot be sure. Here’s the best part when LM exploded the Sonia bomb:

So the little cowardni had not guts to talk about SoniaG but says she substituted SG with Vadra. At other times the Congis claim Vadra is a private citizen but Congress defender Barkha “merged” Sonia and Vadra into one entity. Fantastic! And the BAR criminals also raked up Raje’s Dholpur palace property as a scam. Then this happened:

Jairam Ramesh was strutting around and claiming a scam on this. Once it turned out the property was transferred by a court to Raje & Co. the little cowardni from NDTV says it blunts the Congress attack. Thankfully, Modi doesn’t have to answer! She finds no crime in the lies and half-baked claims of J Ramesh and Surjit Bhalla rightly chastises her skulduggery in slyly protecting the Congress. What to do now? Let’s pick up a new thread!

So they pick up the Vyapam scam – an MP govt recruit scam. This has been going on since the days of Digvijay Singh when he was CM. And suddenly the resignation chant came again – this time for Shivraj Chouhan to resign. Remember, it was Chouhan who ordered the STF and later a court ordered SIT to investigate the scam. The BAR claims 40 deaths were connected to the Vyapam scam. Nobody tells you that the deaths supposedly related to the scam were from 2009 onward and half the deaths have happened prior to 2014. Diggy even used a fraudulent document and presented it to the SIT claiming Chouhan was directly involved in some 48 appointments in the scam. This is a criminal act by Diggy and amounts to forgery and perjury. Chouhan had threatened legal action but I’m not sure he is going to go through with it. And despite knowing the document was a fraud, Arnab gladly used it to do hitjobs on Chouhan. I hope the clown at TimesNow never talks about his so called “integrity” again.

In the Vyapam scam 2000 have been arrested of which it seems 1800 or so are people from Digvijay’s tenure. Is that why the man is personally interested in the case? He even went to SC demanding a CBI probe which the SC dismissed. Finally Chouhan has demanded a CBI probe yesterday. Regardless of CBI, STF or SIT the scam warrants speedy investigation and, more importantly, the criminals need to be punished. There are conflicting reports on the related deaths but regardless, those deaths that are murders must also be investigated and criminals prosecuted. Shivraj Chouhan does not appear to be personally involved and has not condoned any of these crimes. He is the one who started the investigations. But there is a severe warning from him – He cannot let MP become a state where goons and criminals operate with such freedom.

And that is what brings us to the core of this post – That criminals in India operate with impunity. They are either protected by politicians or if they are prosecuted, our courts ensure they take 786 years to hear and give out judgements. This is a shameful state of affairs.

Dare Different:

On most fronts ModiSarkar is doing quite well and there isn’t much to complain about which is why our media is trying to dig holes and get buried themselves. There is, of course, one important thing Modi said during the LS election campaign – That people not only want to throw out the Congress but they want the corrupt to be punished. This is where GOI appears reluctant to speed up even pending cases. There is Raja, Kanimozhi, Marans, Sonia and Rahul and probably many others. In contrast, they have showed sudden urgency in acting against Lalit Modi. The GOI supporters are also wary and some even against prosecuting SoniaG in the National Herald case because they fear it may gain her sympathy and bring her back to power. They relate the situation to that of IndiraG coming back to power in 1980. This is not only a bogus principle but extremely faulty logic.

Arun Jaitley is on record stating that if Congress returns the money to NH the case can be ended. Not the kind of words that one would like to hear from a Minister in a govt that has promised to prosecute the corrupt. Surprisingly, Congress now claims its running out of money and asks its Karyakartas to donate. And it would take Brahma to visit and convince me all the NH money only went to Congress and not individuals. It seems BJP is as scared of touching SoniaG as much as the media is scared of mentioning the Queen’s name. The comparison by supporters with the IndiraG era is faulty like I stated.

In 1977 the Janata Party (called Khichdi govt by IndiraG) came into majority against expectations. Congress still had a decent number, mostly from the South which didn’t face the brunt of Emergency. This Khichdi govt of multiple parties had many contenders who fought to be PM. There was Morarji Desai, Devi Lal, Chandra Shekhar, Charan Singh and maybe some more. It was Jaiprakash Narayan who appointed Morarji Desai PM and others accepted his decision. Predictably, this Khichdi govt botched up the prosecution of IndiraG and once she was out of jail (she was jailed for a few days) she sang a song to the greedy Charan Singh and promised to make him PM with Congress support. He obliged and withdrew from the Morarji govt. Thus Charan Singh became PM. Few months later IndiraG showed she had fooled Charan Singh and withdrew support and pulled his govt down. Elections were announced in 1980, that’s the year BJP was formed and people didn’t want another unstable, constantly fighting Khichdi. So they opted for IndiraG for stability.

Is that the case with ModiSarkar and current govt? It is the first time in independent India that a truly non-Congress govt has been elected with a clear majority of its own. Even without the NDA allies the BJP has clear majority. And Congress crimes and corruption are now known across India because of media, social media and other forms of communication. In 1980 India didn’t have TV in households and nor was there was SM. News and information travels much faster today than it ever did before. Everyone with a mobile camera is or is a potential journalist reporting from many corners of the country. Neither the Congress nor Sonia have any place to hide. The other parties with corrupt ministers from previous govts also do not have a place to hide. There is hardly a need to file new cases even. If GOI speeds up prosecution of existing cases in consultation with the CJI that itself would be a major achievement. Congress has a history of toppling govts whether 1977 or in the 1990s. This time they don’t see that chance and that’s why their wild, belligerent screaming inside and outside the parliament with lies and half-baked information.

I would never expect a Congress or a Khichdi (like DMK, JDU or RJD types) to prosecute the corrupt. I believe people only expect Modi to initiate this – not even the BJP as a party. And this is one call ModiSarkar must answer and the PM need not answer stupid, belligerent media crooks. I don’t expect any black money to come back and I’ve said that before. But acting against the corrupt is well within GOI’s power. Willing to dare different from all previous govts is what will send the right message.

Conning The Nation

A couple of nights ago, continuing the agenda-driven debate on Lalit Modi - Vasundhara Raje  (or Lalitgate as Timesnow calls it) there were four panellists plus Arnab Goswami thrashing the lone representative of BJP, GVNL Narasimha Rao.  It’s a typical scenario on TimeNow - 5 or 6 hyenas jumping on a lone panellist from BJP. Rhetoric and nonsensical moralising flow from these five without allowing the defendant to speak. It came to a point where GVNL had to tell Arnab that he was crossing certain limits. To this, the self-righteous Arnab responds claiming “the Constitution sets my limits”. I suppose Constitution also allows peddling of fraudulent agenda under the guise of journalism and asking bogus questions. And with such grand pompous statements our little Arnab tells the nation who the Big Boss is. Let’s look at some of Arnab’s (and other scumbag channels too) on certain misinformation being handed out as if Moses comes in their dreams every night.

Sushma Swaraj episode on LM - So they scream it was not a humanitarian act but had some ulterior motive. Okay. That helping an Indian, who is evading the ED, meet his ailing wife was improper at the very least. There is something neither the media nor the BJP wants to talk about.  Here’s what Subramanian Swamy wrote about the episode:

That incident is shrouded in secrecy. The Hindu wrote about it too. That RahulG had a Colombian girl-friend is also no secret and there have been pics in the public. Why should ABV or BJP have saved a juvenile Rahul? After all, had he been prosecuted in the US he would have rotted away for years. And if there was excess cash and some “white powder” as Swamy says it would have been a major crime in the US. If that hadn’t happened SoniaG would have been wiping her tears for years instead of managing the Congress. And RahulG still holds an Italian passport as far as I know. You decide if this joker should have been saved. And if he should, why not LM be helped?

LM is a Fugitive - This is what they scream. Conveniently so! Some comments on my previous post also ignorantly claim this. Fact is, to be designated a fugitive some arrest warrant has to be there or some court summon. No such thing exists against LM and the ED is not a court. Despite the GOI and many legal experts clearly stating LM is not a fugitive because his alleged FEMA violations do not warrant an arrest or custodial interrogation our media keeps peddling this garbage. To use the term fugitive as a layman is all very fine but using it as a legal term to imply legal consequences is another thing. Anyone who does not understand this difference is truly a moron. Arnab and his gang have been promoting this falsehood to suit his agenda. Let’s move to another of Arnab’s fraudulent nonsense.

Dushyant Singh (son of VR) case is the same as Robert Vadra - Like I said only uneducated idiots like Arnab will peddle such an equivalence. Vadra has many dealings which involve govt clearances where land is concerned. Here’s what the much-harassed whistle-blower Ashok Khemka had to say:

The Vadra-DLF combine had land dealings which had participation by Congress govts in Haryana and Rajasthan. It is alleged to have caused loss to the treasury of the state, it is alleged to have looted public wealth. Is that the case with Dushyant? (Read this DNA report). Regardlesss of how you view the transactions between Dushyant and Lalit Modi they have not involved any govt or any public wealth. How then is Arnab equating it with Vadra? Because he too knows that Vadra is the biggest abusive word where loot of public wealth is concerned owing to political influence. And whether he likes it or not Dushyant-Lalit did not loot public wealth or assets. But keep chanting Vadra Vadra Vadra like a little boy and hope to fool people into thinking Dushyant-Lalit have looted public wealth. Conman excellence!

The critical issue in allegations of corruption (as experts like Congress know very well) is to establish and document or offer evidence that can stand up in a court of law. Some law has to be broken. In case of, say, Pawan Bansal there was clear case of bribery and money being paid - that is breaking the law. The kind of transactions that involve Raje, Dushyant and Modi are transactions that are everyday deal in businesses. I call Arnab uneducated because he cannot tell the difference between a clever financial deal and corruption. What exactly is the TOI group? Sant Sameer or Sant Vineet? The Medianet deals of TOI can also be called corruption but that TOI’s CLEVER arrangement. There are companies and Bollywood actors that TOI will NEVER write negatively about. You wonder why? So Arnab can try to kick and scream but not once has he told us of which law Dushyant, Lalit or VR have broken in these transactions. Such is the wretched hate-mongering at Timesnow that they even concocted a FAKE resolution over Gadkari giving clean chits to VR (Does any State pass such resolutions except the mentally ill state of Timesnow in their office?):

Uneducated moron Arnab gave an analogy of an Orange to GVNL the other day. He tells us he purchases an orange for some 10 rupees and sells it for a million bucks. I can laugh but technically what is the problem? It is my blessed Orange - I can sell it, I can give it free or I can eat it too. Who the hell are you to decide on what I should do with my Orange? And Arnab sarcastically tells GVNL he learned this in Class-6 and is poor in Maths. No moron, it’s about common sense and how businessmen do deals and you’re close to Dalal Street and many big companies. Go have a chat with some people and all deals do not automatically translate to corruption or crime. They have to be unlawful or illegal first.

Unable to get results from his fraudulent campaign Arnab constantly sets his dogs at his targets. Aditya Kaul pickets VR’s residence or office gates and complains he’s not being allowed in. Who are you? And what makes these little dogs of Arnab think they are entitled to enter premises of just about anybody. I have written about this hounding before too. They did so in case of Gadkari, in case of Bansal but cowards stay clear from Vadra or Sonia. Not only these dogs picket and chase VR, when she was in Delhi it seems some media car crashed her convoy car.

I suspect it could be a TNow car. Remember? These same TNow criminals chased Meiyappan of IPL scam from Mumbai airport to a police station posing a threat to everyone on the roads. The media has fallen so low that it wants to pose physical danger to its targets?

              “If I don’t get my chocolate - I will screw you”

That is what TOI and Arnab tell us. They will go any length to even pose physical danger to public figures and others. But they go beyond that. This little boy Arnab who pretends to be a patriot by chastising some worthless jokers from Pakistan often carried a vicious campaign against CWG in tandem with his mother-rag TOI. Why? Because the CWG media contract went to HT and CNN-IBN. Do you know the level these scumbags stooped to? Hitjob after hitjob after hitjob to tarnish the image of India. Nation wants to know? In a one month period from August 1 to September 2, 2010, this TOI combine put out 101 Dalmatians (Yes one hundred one) to tar the CWG effort. That is an average of 3 hitjobs per day. Does that even sound reasonable reporting or journalism? I call it criminal hit jobs. The CWG scam is not really a part of these hitjobs because it came later.

Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein unearthed the greatest political scandal in history - Watergate. They didn’t have spycams and morons picketing houses or blocking or chasing politicians. They, and their editor Ben Bradley, did not wave their reports and paper at Nixon DEMANDING his resignation. They just reported and let the political class do what they have to do. It’s the US Congress, Senate and Supreme Court that finally forced Nixon to resign. Journalists have a job to do to report facts (even LIES like our media does if they want) but arrogant, nonsensical behaviour in demanding resignations of elected officials is not your job Arnab. Learn that quick. And don’t kid yourself in thinking you speak for the nation or nation wants to know through your nonsense. The nation can do without con-men and fraudulent journalism. Nobody has given you that power. Don’t BS the nation about Constitution giving you the limits. The Constitution allows you to report and comment and if you want to be a professional journalist, stick to that.

As for your stupid hashtag journalism, that is no different from 2-minute Maggi which is now banned. Kicking and screaming and threatening panellists cannot pass for journalism. ArnabGate should provide you abundant help in remembering that.

The Lalit Modi-Sushma Swaraj-Vasundhara Raje Episode

All these little boys and girls who claim to have studied at grand Oxbridge or Columbia colleges and pass for editors on TV channels consistently demonstrate how uneducated and brainless they really are. On the night of June 25 Arnab Goswami, in his usual outrage, screamed at a BJP spokie (Shrikant Sharma) that if Lalit Modi (LM) can be helped on humanitarian grounds then possibly BJP might tomorrow help Dawood as well. There’s a problem here that the new Category4Moron Arnab refuses to see. Dawood is wanted for mass-murder, declared a terrorist and is a fugitive whereas none of that applies to LM.

You have the moronery to equate a wanted terrorist to someone who is on political asylum in the UK because of death threats that he fears in India. I am no fan of LM and I am not convinced he’s an angel in all this muck flying around. But to equate LM with Dawood to merely outrage over wanting the scalp of a minister is the kind of criminal journalism that passes in our media. AG is an ignoramus who cannot distinguish between two cases and will talk all kinds of nonsense like a little child who wants his chocolate. They may wear all the suits and lipstick but still remain uneducated. So what’s the case? Let’s see.

In the first one Sushma Swaraj, the EAM, is reported to have recommended travel documents for LM so that he can visit his ailing wife outside UK. This was on LM’s request. The UK govt considered LM’s request on recommendation of one of their MPs. Now, AG first LIED that his passport is revoked and therefore this was to circumvent LM’s need for a travel document. This lie fell flat on its face. GOI (UPA) had revoked his passport as he was wanted for questioning by the ED (though it baffles me why they didn’t revoke it before he went to the UK). Delhi HC restored his passport and told ED that questioning can also be done by video-conferencing. Yes (for the benefit of Congi idiots) and Arnab, in this day and age, if our SC can grant bail on mobile calls and video conferencing, then ED can also undertake questioning through video conference. No court, police or legal body has designated LM as a fugitive.

That India now has a policy of helping Indians when they are in trouble is a policy I applaud. We have seen that in Yemen, we have seen extraordinary effort to save one missionary from Afghanistan. What SS did was the right thing and should be done for any Indian as long as he is not a WANTED criminal. Arnab must attend classes with his friend AM Singhvi in his chambers to understand the distinction. However, SS shouldn’t have surrounded it with such secrecy which made it look like a clandestine act although no crime was committed.

How criminal is the agenda of the media and Congress? These folks compared SS' act with those of scamsters like A. Raja, Suresh Kalmadi and so on as if she had looted the nation's wealth like these and other politicians are accused of. They cannot tell the difference and that is why they are uneducated and can be purchased to push an agenda beyond reasonable sense.

The second issue is that of Vasundhara Raje, CM of Rajasthan, giving a clean bill of character to LM to secure some immigration or asylum rights. In that note she wants it not to be disclosed to Indian authorities and also mentions LM was being politically hounded and faced threats. A letter from a legislator helps get political asylum faster. This was done in 2011 when Raje was not the CM. Here too, there is no doubt about Raje having doled out a favour to LM and in secrecy. That’s the only problem – the secrecy. Indian politicians seem to be unable to put their political conflicts aside and boldly do what their conscience permits. If Raje had issued that certificate and informed GOI at that time of having issued it then it would have been perfectly alright. She might have been criticised strongly then instead of the flak she faces now. She richly deserves all the flak and brickbats she is getting. But she has broken no law.

The trashing that SS got in the media was excessive and in the case of VR it has gone on too long and can rightly be called a witch-hunt. All other channels criticised them too but it is Arnab whose moronery exceeded even his peanut–size legal knowledge and he started demanding resignations of these two ministers. Remember, the job of a journalist to report, present facts and let the political class demand or agitate for resignations. At best this C4M can say both ministers should resign. The GOI is not AG’s private backyard that he can scream “SACK VASUNDHARA NOW”. Who the hell are you? That’s exceeding your brief. And claiming that he’s a journo he has never learned that if you hound your targets beyond a point then the public develops sympathy for them. All these media morons have not learned anything from hounding Modi excessively for 12 years.

The other thing is that there is no corruption involved in these episodes and no money was given or taken. Also, which law have these ladies broken? If there was some law that they had broken then our media would have quoted Section 666 or Section 786 or something. I have not heard of anyone in the media or in the Opposition claiming they broke laws. So both SS and VR do deserve a severe reprimand and caution but the demand for their resignation for so many days goes beyond mere principles. It unquestionably suggests and indicates an agenda.

Arnab has a history of hounding people with an agenda of seeking scalps. There was the Nitin Gadkari hounding which lasted for a month. There was this N Sreenivasan hounding which lasted 21 days. There have been others too. In the case of Gadkari all of it turned out to be nothing but a “Supari” hit job. In case of Sreenivasan, many indicated the agenda was because of conflict between TOI and BCCI. Sreenivasan continues to be in some position or the other in Indian cricket. After the world cup he wanted to hound MS Dhoni out and got severely trashed on Twitter. Whether SS or VR stay or go is none of my concern. But the media and Congress claiming “moral” grounds is like Al Capone preaching Prohibition.

All of Arnab’s mindless bitching has gotten nowhere. I am sure Arnab knows this and therefore he pounces on any and every little firecracker and screams “It’s a bomb, it’s a bomb”. People don’t find it funny anymore and none of his silly hashtags trend on Twitter either. At the end of it all, maybe in a year, when we thoroughly scrutinise every witch-hunt (going beyond news reporting) Arnab has carried out we will find most of them were damp squibs and the only real scandal would be ArnabGate.
