Although not a sequel, this is in continuation of the previous post “Kashmir forever gone for Hindus”. There is an ineluctable truth in that statement. Hindus will never be able to reside in Kashmir again. Never; unless a great, daring Hindu leader comes around and takes dramatic actions. However, history has shown that India, which once stretched from Afghanistan to Cambodia, has never recovered any lost territory. In all the cases of territory-loss, it’s Hindus that were driven out. Kashmir is no different and, in the future, Kerala and Bengal might follow. Punjab is waiting in the wings with Khalistanis. We had hoped that Narendra Modi would change this scenario. But, if anything, this closet Islamist and anti-Hindu PM has enlarged the violence and Hindu-exodus in various parts of India. He also watches like a lame-duck the attacks and killing of Hindus in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
All the fakery about Kashmir only harms Hindus. There is no will to launch a final assault against terrorists, no will to break off with Pakistan and an excessive desire to appease the offenders and criminals in the region. It’s a “Never Never Nest”. Never Never Nest is the house that will never get built – just like Kashmir. And now, the house is being sold off to outsiders. These outsiders are Islamists and will, naturally, further Islamise Kashmir beyond recognition of it once being a Hindu land. India has a history of losing land and driving out Hindus. Not one inch of land has ever been recovered and Hindu homes restored. The map of what India once was and what it is today commonly circulates (even the JK and Ladakh map is imaginary as India doesn’t possess the entire land):
At this point, a short story on how countries rise is pertinent. The US was largely made of immigrants, refugees and people hounded from their original state. They strived and prospered. At the time of US independence (1776) their population was just around 2.5 million. In 250 years since then the US added 30 crores to their population. This is despite the ever-increasing immigration to the US. In just 75 years post-Independence (36 Crores in 1947) India added 100 crores to its population. You know where the problem is. The GOI ignores this population explosion, especially of one particular community. Modi deceives everyone by calling it “Demographic Dividend”. This lopsided population growth invariably leads to ethnic cleansing and driving out Hindus. Kashmir was just the tip of the iceberg.
The Middle East (ME) was somewhat like the US without the education, science, enterprise and inventions. Mostly a desert of tribals living in tents or mud houses, travelling on camels. Oil brought them affluence and post WWII some of them formed into countries after the British quit. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, UAE all evolved as countries not so long ago. The Saudis and UAE have bestowed their highest civilian award on PM Modi. An award here and there is a good recognition. But a PM who lusts for awards, recognition and approval is putty in the hands of a potter.
In recent times, Modi has been very chummy with the UAE, in particular. The UAE, like our North East, is made up of seven sisters – Abu Dhabi (Capital of UAE), Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain. Of these, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are most prominent while Sharjah is known for cricket. The UAE population is just under 1 Cr of which 1.5 mn are foreign workers. India and UAE established diplomatic relations in 1972. Since the early 1970s there has been a flood of migration by Indian workers to the ME countries that flourished on oil. On the left is a picture of what Dubai looked like – just a village even in the early 1970s. In 50 years, all these ME countries changed and modernised dramatically.
Here’s a picture of Dubai airport in 1959 when it was just a small strip and nothing but miles and miles of desert. This improved slightly in 1971 but between 1991 and 2010, Dubai exponentially progressed and changed to become the airport with the highest traffic in the region and Dubai became the centre for global business offices. Not a single Indian airport has changed as dramatically as the airport in Dubai or many other cities of the ME:
Small population and excessive oil wealth made these Islamic Emirates and countries a dominant power in the world. They now dominate proceedings in the UN, have a union called OIC and a country that has never played in a World Cup football final event will be hosting the world cup in 2022 (Qatar). Petrodollars have driven economies and political decisions for the last 5 decades in many countries. India has been no exception to this and, in addition, India has the incentive to keep its Muslim population happy. However, India and the UAE/ME have always had friendly relations regardless of any other event or incident. In Modi, the UAE found their ultimate stooge and puppet.
Here was a man who was carrying the burden of anti-Muslim taint from Gujarat 2002 and sought to redeem his image. His “messengers” went around lobbying for awards from Saudi, Bahrain, Palestine and the UAE too. After the Saudi and other awards in 2016-17 from the ME, Modi was decorated with the highest award by the UAE – “The Zayed Award”. The Zayed awards is a collar as shown in the image on the left. One has to applaud the UAE for their sense of timing. They announced the award in April 2019 just as India was in the midst of its LS2019 elections. This gave a great boost to Modi’s image and standing. Modi went to Abu Dhabi to receive the award in August 2019 after 370 was junked. While not publicly reported, I am sure there would have been some discussion about the reaction to junking 370 in India and elsewhere.
Such awards come with a small price. The UAE wanted to play a bigger role in Indo-Pak relations and became mediator and broker. This was totally against India’s long-stated policy of Indo-Pak disputes being a bilateral matter and Kashmir too being a bilateral issue and subject to the Shimla Agreement of 1972. Caught in a stalemate with Pak and terrorism, India didn’t mind and secretly participated in the mediation. Nothing wrong in this if it helps two long-time enemies resolve disputes but the best laid plans can go wrong:
The UAE brokered a LOC cease-fire but come September, Pakistan (after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan) was back to its terror-games and India was losing Jawans, civilians and Hindus were again being targeted in Kashmir. They were driven out again. This time, there is no going back. The terrorists have laid siege to some spots in Poonch for over 10 days so far and the army casualties are rising disproportionately to the terrorists eliminated. Here’s where the story takes a dramatically sorry turn. The JK govt signed an MOU with the govt of Dubai for the development of Kashmir in multiple areas – real estate, industrial parks, multipurpose towers, logistics, medical colleges, super specialty hospitals and more. In short, Kashmir will become like Jamshedpur which is everything Tata except that Tatas are an Indian entity and Dubai is not:
It doesn’t make any sense. By itself, Dubai or UAE don’t have any expertise in any civil planning, architecture or development of cities or regions. All the major town planning, architecture of major landmarks including buildings like Burj Khalifa were done by British architects. Till the mid-1990s even the immigration officers at Dubai airport were imported from African countries like Tanzania or Kenya. The UAE didn’t have much educated people for such tasks. So, how did they become town planners and architects good enough for a whole region? Two answers – Islam and Zayed Collar. Kashmir has been sold for a Collar. On October 21st, as India reached 100 crores of Covid vaccination, Modi bragged about medical education governance that opened medical colleges and facilities across India. But for Kashmir he needs Dubai?
For all the tall talk of “Atmanirbhar” with so many architects and engineers in India why would we need some country like Dubai to do the town planning and real estate and infrastructure development in Kashmir? The answer is also money, apart from the two earlier answers. Dubai will build, Dubai will own. Dubai will be permanently entrenched in Kashmir. In other words, men of UAE will able to access the entire landscape of a sensitive zone like Kashmir, learn about every nook and corner, acquire the intelligence critical to our security forces – all in the name of development. And towards this purpose, the GOI has already allowed operation of international flights to Srinagar. My estimate is that most of these flights will be from UAE:
This is how Prithviraj Chauhan let in the barbarians through the gates. This is how brainless Nawabs let in the British through Kolkata. And this is how Modi has let in the UAE through Kashmir. And all these decades Kashmir was on its way to full Islamisation and now with the advent of UAE, that process will be completed in another decade or so. There will be folks walking in long gowns and Bedouin head gear speaking a foreign language. Hindus are anyway being driven out of Kashmir; it will then become harder for them to even enter Kashmir again. What was once a Hindu land will be a Desert Club Resort for the Arabs. With all the bragging about our Scientists, architects, medical institutions and management institutions, all that ModiSarkar has manage to prove is that we don’t have the capability to build Kashmir because these specialists are NOT Muslims. India has never regained any territory ceded to foreigners and Islamists. Kashmir has been sold for just a Collar.
