The Population Strife Danger

As a writer on current affairs, I routinely collect images of news headlines, pictures and videos of events and incidents and screenshots of tweets. Most of them I never use but it’s like a bank from which I draw material when I write on some topic. Some information in the bank might become redundant so some time is spent on getting the updates. And then, on an average, it takes me around 40 minutes to write an article of, say, 1500-1800 words. So, by the time I finish writing this one – 2400 children would have been born in India.

The average life expectancy in India in 1947 was 32 years. In 2019 it is 69 years. Thus, along with growth in birthrates, the death-rates have dramatically come down thanks to vaccines, improved medical care and so on. Contrary to popular belief the population growth rate in India has actually slowed down a bit in the last decade but it doesn’t make any big difference when it comes to population explosion. Here’s raw statistics on our birth and death rates:

 

The image above is quoted from a dynamic site that is a population clock. The figures change every second and you can see how dramatically the numbers keep going up. While 1.30 Bn is the number currently being widely quoted as the population, the actual current population of India is well over 1.37 Bn. As Gujarat CM, Narendra Modi had repeatedly talked about controlling population growth and the evils of population explosion. Somehow, once he became PM some dimwit fed him with the concept of “Demographic Dividend”. These concepts work in some countries but not in a hugely populated and developing country like India. PM Modi kept on harping on demographic dividend and that, unfortunately, diverted from the serious issue of population explosion:

Modi’s advisors in govt and outside never bothered to point out to him that this was putting India on the wrong track. Although ModiSarkar is trying its best to impart skills to a vast population the biggest growth in population is happening in the most unproductive lot. Unlike China India has not become a manufacturing giant and hub to the world. We should have been the world’s biggest manufacturing hub but the Commie policies of Congress govts for many years had shackled private enterprise. While ModiSarkar is doing all it can with “Make in India” the effort is not producing the desired result for sheer lack of trained and skilled manpower. The Mint article from 2015 quoted above talks of transporters not getting enough skilled truck-drivers. And that is a universal problem in India in manufacturing too.

Our Metro cities will degenerate into swamps of unlivable misery if this problem is not attended to immediately. They face grave threats of over-crowding, traffic, water problems, pollution, security, crimes and epidemics. I once wrote “Make Mumbai a separate state” in 2011. Mumbai population has grown from 2.9 million in 1901 to 21 million in 2011. It is probably higher now in 2019. There is a dire emergency to not only halt population growth but to also stop migration to the Metros by creating more opportunities in other towns. Although our population is exploding every minute, here is a static figure for 2019 from one source:

 

Percentages don’t always tell the whole story. In case of population absolute numbers also matter. And the most dramatic growth in population has been that of the Muslim community. They are religiously averse to any birth control devices or any family planning campaigns. The unfortunate part is, this population growth does not happen in the economically well-off sections – it mostly happens in the poorer sections of society. A quick glance at the population growth from 1951 would not be surprising to anyone:

 

The Hindu percentage has been steadily declining but may still be high on absolute numbers. The most dramatic increase is evidently in the Muslim population. We now have a whole of Pakistan population within India or probably more. There is a blunt truth that the Muslim community must face and so too all the State govts and the Centre. Muslims are backward in education and therefore face more unemployment. Their Madrassa qualifications do not make them ideal candidates for many modern and futuristic jobs. And on top of it all, they have moronic leaders like Azam Khan who compounds their misery with their unemployment problem being the cause of their population growth:

Our criminal media immediately jumps and calls such statements “controversial”. There is nothing controversial, Azam Khan is just stating a reality in a twisted manner. He blames lack of employment as the cause for their population growth. That is idiotic to say the least. You are unemployed because your community is not producing as many jobs as you are producing kids. Ideally, a community should be producing more jobs not only for its own but for other communities too and that’s how any population imbalance gets adjusted. You cannot keep on producing an unproductive lot and claim the lot is increasing because they are unemployed. Take these two guys for instance – they are part tragedy and part comic:

 

On the left is a Muslim man from UP with 3 wives and some 32 kids living in a one-room shanty (a Jhopdi). He wants a house under PMAY but I doubt he has the resources for his share and the resources to accommodate his whole circus anywhere. On the right is an NE guy with 39 wives, 94 children and 33 grandchildren. And that was in 2011. Maybe he has now hit a century of kids and half century of grandkids. However, the NE guy at least looks better off in appearance and the whole lot seems well-clothed so we can’t judge on his economic situation. Maybe he has enough resources to run the whole family and is not a burden on the state. We don’t know. But the Muslim guy on the left has clearly committed an offence on his 3 wives and 32 children by bringing them to a miserable life.

The Muslim population growth is not entirely “innocent”. Their entire cabal of Mullahs and strategists encourage breeding to acquire a political advantage through their population. It is this that leads to Muslim appeasement and in many pockets of India where they are now in majority. And once they are in a majority, they start driving out other communities. We don’t have to look very far in UP or Uttarakhand or elsewhere – Kashmir is the standing example of how Muslims drove out Hindus to turn it into an Islamic state. Sometime in the mid-1970s, the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi had laid out this strategy for Europe:

Gaddafi wasn’t wrong. Many European countries are struggling to combat the violent and intolerant behaviour of Muslim migrant groups. There is Ilhan Omar, a US Congresswoman. She is anti-America, anti-Jews, terrorist-sympathiser and says “some people did something on 9/11” (Just like Sam Pitroda say some people did something on 26/11). She is a migrant refugee from Somalia and is elected from a pocket in the US that is now Muslim-dominated. Ditto for that moron Sadiq Khan, the London mayor. There are now enough Muslim pockets in London to have this Paki-origin man as their mayor. He too is a terrorist-sympathiser and a miserable curse on London’s citizens. Many countries are being swamped with Muslim migrants and their demography is undergoing turbulent changes. The consequences are not hard to see. There are BJP MPs, like Giriraj Singh, who speak out boldly on the issue but they too are dubbed “controversial” and the party also snubs them and silences their voices because they speak the unpalatable truth:

At 1.37 Bn India’s population is already a huge disaster waiting to happen. And it is ticking every minute to cross China’s population in a decade. Beating China in population is one area which will do us no proud. Therefore, better late than never. In his I-Day speech PM Modi for the first time publicly acknowledged that population explosion is a problem and must be combatted. Nothing has pleased me more than this acceptance and the junking of the illusionary “Demographic Dividend”.

I have said before and I repeat – Uncontrolled population growth is like uncontrolled Diabetes. It will eat away the vitals of the body just as “unproductive population” eats away the national body and a majority of its resources with no value as outcome for it. Whether we like it or not, we are obligated to care for those who are already born and are here but must find ways to stop excessive population. How the govt is going to do it is a challenge – whether through laws that deny benefits to “over producers” or denial of voting rights beyond a number is something for them to figure out. But for a start, we must start repatriating illegal migrants and refugees to their homeland. A strong case should be made out in SC to stop it from acting as hurdle in this most-needed exercise. This is also a promise that BJP has repeatedly made in their election campaigns in the last six years:

Immediately after the I-Day functions on August 15, PM Modi called for an emergency meeting to take stock of the economic situation. There is indeed a downturn and unemployment is a serious concern. Remember, unemployment is one problem but even if we surmount that, there is a whole new population that will be waiting for new jobs to accommodate their gainful livelihood:

 

The first step in solving a problem is acknowledging that it is a problem. Now that Modi has acknowledged population being a problem, I am positive at least some measures will come into place to combat it. The campaign needs to be on the same scale and passion as the “Swachh Bharat” campaign. Media must be compelled to carry free advertisements on family planning – they are obligated to do so under some circumstances in messages of national interest. Vasectomies and Copper-Ts must be made cheaper, must be advertised and encouraged. And most of all, the demographic alteration of many native areas of Hindu origin has to stop. It has the potential to lead to a civil strife and one hopes that does not visit us.
